Standard Lithium Files Preliminary Feasibility Study for South West Arkansas Project

Standard Lithium Ltd., a leading near-commercial lithium company, has recently filed the Preliminary Feasibility Study for its South West Arkansas Project. The study, which was announced on August 8, 2023, is now available for review on the Company’s website and SEDAR+.

The South West Arkansas Project, located in southwestern Arkansas, boasts one of the highest reported lithium brine concentrations in North America, averaging above 400 mg/L. With an Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.4 Mt and 0.4 Mt lithium carbonate equivalent, respectively, the project demonstrates robust economics. The Company aims to produce at least 30,000 tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium hydroxide starting in 2027, with an operating life of over 20 years.

Standard Lithium plans to complete a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and Definitive Feasibility Study for the South West Arkansas Project in 2024, followed by construction in 2025. Commercial production is anticipated to begin in 2027, subject to project definition, due diligence, project financing, and future feasibility studies.

Standard Lithium is focused on the sustainable development of lithium-brine bearing properties in the United States. The Company prioritizes projects with high-grade resources, robust infrastructure, skilled labor, and streamlined permitting. By applying a scalable and fully-integrated Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) and purification process, Standard Lithium aims to achieve sustainable, commercial-scale lithium production.
