Hawaiian Airlines Collaborates with Noho Home to Create Sustainable In-Flight Amenity Kits

Hawaiian Airlines has announced an exciting collaboration with Noho Home, a renowned Hawai’i lifestyle brand, to design its new in-flight amenity kits and soft goods. The partnership aims to create a sustainable and authentic experience for passengers, rooted in the spirit of aloha.

The designs by Noho Home, inspired by Hawaiian Airlines’ premium cabin, the Leihōkū Suites on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will feature three motifs: Kilo Hōkū, Lele, and ʻŌlali. These designs will bring a sense of place and comfort to both locals (kamaʻāina) and visitors as they embark on their journey.

Starting from November 6, Business Class guests traveling on Hawaiian Airlines’ long-haul international flights and routes between Hawai’i and New York, Boston, and Austin will be offered amenity kits made with responsibly sourced materials. The kits will include essential items in a recycled plastic canvas bag, with additional amenities available a la carte to minimize waste.

Passengers in Business Class will also enjoy plush quilts adorned with the signature Kilo Hōkū and ʻŌlali designs, along with a mattress pad and sleeping pillow, all made from recycled plastic fabric. Extra Comfort and Main Cabin passengers will receive amenity kits featuring the Lele design.

Alisa Onishi, Hawaiian Airlines’ senior director of brand and community and cultural relations, expressed pride in the collaboration with Noho Home, emphasizing the shared goal of creating a sense of place and connection to home for passengers.

The three designs draw inspiration from the native Hawaiian practice of kilo, which involves careful and constant observation. Kilo Hōkū, representing the stargazer, showcases the eternal nature of the cosmos, while Lele celebrates the marvel of flight and the spirit of adventure. ʻŌlali, meaning to “glide smoothly,” represents the graceful movements of birds and dolphins.

Jalene Kanani Bell, the founder of Noho Home, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to draw inspiration from celestial wayfinding and indigenous knowledge. She hopes that these products will spark meaningful conversations and foster connections to the island home, rooted in the spirit of aloha.

In addition to the in-flight amenities, Hawaiian Airlines and Noho Home will extend their partnership with a retail collection of home goods. The Hawaiian Airlines x Noho Home Leihōkū Collection will be available for purchase onboard select Hawaiian Airlines flights and directly through Noho Home starting from November 6.

Hawaiian Airlines continues to prioritize sustainability, offering complimentary meals for all guests on transpacific routes and eliminating change fees on Main Cabin and Premium Cabin seats. The airline’s commitment to connecting people with aloha has earned it top rankings in consumer surveys and industry accolades.

Passengers can look forward to an enhanced travel experience with the new in-flight amenity kits and soft goods, designed with sustainability and the spirit of aloha in mind. Hawaiian Airlines and Noho Home’s collaboration brings together the beauty of Hawaiian culture and the comfort of modern travel.
