Dungeons & Dragons Partners with AdoptAClassroom.org to Bring the Game to High-Needs Classrooms

Wizards of the Coast, the renowned creator of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), has teamed up with AdoptAClassroom.org to introduce the popular role-playing game to 200 high-needs classrooms across the United States. This exciting initiative aims to provide teachers with D&D libraries and essential funding to support their classrooms.

Teachers supporting grades 4-12 in high-needs schools can now apply online for a chance to win this incredible opportunity for their students. Selected teachers will receive a comprehensive collection of D&D books and accessories, along with $100 in funding through AdoptAClassroom.org. This funding will enable teachers to order necessary classroom supplies through the AdoptAClassroom.org Marketplace.

According to Ann Pifer, the executive director of AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers often spend an average of $860 of their own money on school supplies each year. This partnership with Dungeons & Dragons aims to alleviate some of the financial burden on educators and ensure that students have the necessary tools to thrive in school.

Cynthia Williams, the President of Wizards of the Coast, highlighted the educational benefits of Dungeons & Dragons. She emphasized that the game goes beyond entertainment and offers students the opportunity to develop crucial life skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, inclusivity, and empathy. Additionally, Wizards of the Coast provides D&D-inspired teaching kits for grades 4-8, empowering teachers to create engaging and confidence-building experiences for their students.
