Vecima Networks Showcases Broadband and IPTV Innovations at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2023

Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM) is set to demonstrate its leadership in the broadband and IPTV industry at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2023, taking place from October 16-19 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The company will showcase its Entra® Unified Access portfolio, which enables operators to deploy both Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) and Passive Optical Networking (PON) in any market or hub.

One of the key highlights of Vecima’s showcase will be its Entra® ERM3 Remote PHY Device (RPD), which allows for easy upgrades of legacy analog HFC nodes to DAA. This upgrade not only increases broadband capacity but also reduces installation time and operating costs. The ERM3 has gained recognition in the industry, receiving the prestigious ‘5-Diamonds’ in the 2023 BTR Diamond Technology Reviews. Charter Communications has also selected the ERM3 to enable 10G services over HFC networks.

Vecima’s Entra® Access Nodes, known as “Forever Nodes,” protect operators’ investments in technology-forward networks as they prepare for DOCSIS® 4.0, 1.8 GHz cable access, and advanced PON deployments. These nodes are fully interoperable and upgradable, paving the way for multi-gigabit, symmetrical broadband services.

The company will also showcase its Flexible PON solutions, including hardened, shelf-based OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) and Remote OLTs. These solutions enable rapid and cost-effective deployment of symmetrical multi-gigabit speeds while preparing the access network for future advancements.

Vecima’s MediaScale™ Streaming solutions, including Open CDN™, offer service providers the ability to generate incremental revenue and optimize network capacity by caching third-party video content directly within their own networks. This improves the quality of experience for end-users and allows operators to deliver more efficient, personalized video content with targeted, higher-value ads.

Additionally, Vecima will present its TruLive™ Streaming solution, which offers scalability, reliability, and quality for live programming, especially sports broadcasts. This solution has been widely adopted by operators worldwide to manage the increasing demand for live streaming while maintaining pristine video quality.

Colin Howlett, Chief Technology Officer at Vecima, will be speaking at the Cable Next-Gen Workshop and moderating a technical session at the expo, highlighting the deployment considerations of DOCSIS 4.0 and the future of connectivity and communication.

German Iaryczower, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at Vecima, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering flexible, open, and interoperable options for service providers. He also highlighted how MediaScale Streaming allows service providers to capture more value from video with efficient and cost-effective delivery, providing a higher quality and personalized experience for subscribers.

Clay McCreery, Chief Operating Officer at Vecima, expressed pride in helping customers build networks that are ready for future technologies while delivering the highest quality broadband and video services today.
