Sphere Entertainment Co. is revolutionizing live entertainment with the debut of The Sphere Experience, a groundbreaking content category featured at Sphere, the next-generation entertainment medium that recently opened in Las Vegas. This immersive two-part journey takes guests on a captivating exploration of technological innovation and human potential.
The Sphere Experience begins in the Atrium, where guests are introduced to the intertwined history of culture, technology, science, art, and the natural world. Curated by humanoid robots named Aura, the Atrium showcases Sphere’s cutting-edge immersive technologies, including Sphere Immersive Sound powered by HOLOPLOT. This advanced audio system delivers crystal-clear and uniform sound to every seat in the venue, creating a truly immersive audio experience.
In addition to the immersive sound, the Atrium features a 50-foot-high holographic installation, machine learning artwork, LED displays, and a 360-degree avatar capture that virtually transports guests on top of Sphere. These interactive experiences set the stage for the main cinematic feature, “Postcard from Earth,” directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky.
“Postcard from Earth” is a sci-fi film that takes audiences on a mesmerizing voyage across all seven continents, deep into the ocean, high into the mountains, and even out into space. Utilizing Sphere’s next-generation technologies, including the highest resolution LED screen on Earth and Sphere Immersive Sound, the film creates a fully immersive visual and auditory environment. The multi-sensory 4D technologies, such as haptic seats and environmental effects, further enhance the audience’s sensory experience.
