Sunday Brunch’s Tim Lovejoy was told to ‘shut up’ by Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri during an awkward exchange this weekend.

The host, 55, and co-presenter got Simon Rimmer, 60, got the Scottish singer’s back up as he joked about possible rain at her upcoming Glastonbury gig.

Tim teased that he ‘loved’ to dance in a downpour, only for the hitmaker to snap back saying ‘shut up’. 

Sharleen was joined by fellow guest Emma Bunton who agreed with Simon. happily telling Sharleen she too loved to dance in the rain at festivals.

Sharleen hit back: ‘You enjoy dancing in the rain from the side of the stage,’ hinting the Spice Girl would likely have backstage passes under cover and not be out in the crowd with everyone else. 

Tim also caused chaos as he began choking and uncontrollable coughing during numerous intervals in the show.

Chef Simon was even forced to stop his fish soup demonstration to ask: ‘You alright now?’. 

Only for Tim to reply: ‘No I’m not’. 

The host managed to gather himself during the ad break, before blaming the incident on hay fever. 

Later joking all trees should be cut down, promoting his co-host to quickly clarify it was not a serious suggestion. 

Mystery band The ChurnUps are billed to perform at 6.15pm on the Friday of the Glastonbury  festival, playing on the Pyramid Stage before Royal Blood. 

Fans were quick to assume the secret act is Britpop veterans Pulp because they are nowhere to be seen on the lineup despite their appearance being anticipated. 

But many are now theorising that The ChurnUps is Foo Fighters, after the band teased numerous clues that it could be them.

Secret Glasto tweeted: ‘We’ve got another confession to make, you’d certainly be FOOlish to miss The ChurnUps.’

One Twitter user responded to the cryptic tweet: ‘The Foo Fighters?’ to which the band responded with a GIF of Jim Carey spitting out water and quipping: ‘Oh come on.’ 

The tweet comes after Dave Grohl teased fans with a message that mentioned ‘churning up’ emotions, shared on Foo Fighters’ Instagram page and also The Churnups official Twitter account. 

On June 6th he shared a note, which read: ‘Hey, it’s been a while. Now that we’ve returned from our first run of shows, I felt compelled to reach out and thank you all for being there for us.

In 2023, Glastonbury Festival will take place between Wednesday June 21 2023 and Sunday June 25 2023. 

Glastonbury has officially confirmed all of the artists set to appear on stage during this year’s event, with Elton John headlining proceedings, after being selected to close out the festival from the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday night.

It will be Elton’s last ever UK show, after a glittering career that has spanned more than half a century. 

The opening night of action from the Pyramid Stage, on the Friday, will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys, marking the first time the Sheffield indie rockers have played at Glastonbury since 2013. 

Guns N’ Roses will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night, whilst other artists set to feature on Glastonbury’s main stage over the weekend include Aitch, Lizzo, Rick Astley, Lil Nas X, Blondie and Lewis Capaldi. 

The Other Stage will be headlined by Wizkid, Lana Del Rey and Queens of the Stone Age on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
