Sun Life Financial Completes Acquisition of Dialogue, Canada’s Premier Health and Wellness Virtual Care Platform

Sun Life Financial Inc., a leading international financial services organization, has successfully finalized its acquisition of Dialogue Health Technologies Inc., a prominent health and wellness virtual care platform based in Montreal, Quebec. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Sun Life as it expands its offerings in the healthcare sector.

Dialogue is known for providing affordable and on-demand access to high-quality care, catering to companies in Canada and internationally. With nearly 2.8 million members across 50,000 organizations, Dialogue’s healthcare team has been instrumental in delivering exceptional services. In fact, Sun Life had previously rolled out Dialogue’s services to its Group Benefits Clients in March 2020, under the name Lumino Health Virtual Care. This service has benefited over 800,000 Sun Life Clients and their family members, including Sun Life employees.

As part of the acquisition, Dialogue will continue to operate as a standalone entity within Sun Life Canada. The company will maintain its commitment to serving all existing customers and distribution partners, ensuring seamless continuity of care. Sun Life’s acquisition of Dialogue further strengthens its position in the healthcare industry and reinforces its dedication to providing comprehensive health solutions to its clients.

Sun Life Financial Inc. operates in multiple markets worldwide, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, India, China, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Bermuda. With total assets under management of $1.37 trillion as of June 30, 2023, Sun Life continues to be a trusted and reliable financial services provider.

The completion of the acquisition will lead to the delisting of Dialogue’s common shares from the Toronto Stock Exchange, and Dialogue will submit an application to cease being a reporting issuer under Canadian securities laws. Sun Life, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, now owns approximately 95% of the issued and outstanding shares of Dialogue.

Sun Life Financial Inc. is excited about the opportunities that the acquisition of Dialogue presents. By combining their expertise and resources, Sun Life and Dialogue are well-positioned to enhance the accessibility and quality of healthcare services for individuals and organizations across Canada and beyond.
