M&T BANK APPOINTS DAVID W. HOLLIS AS CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

M&T Bank, a leading financial institution headquartered in Buffalo, New York, has recently announced the appointment of David W. Hollis as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With over 37 years of experience, Hollis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role, where he will oversee various critical aspects of human resources for M&T Bank’s extensive workforce of more than 22,000 employees across the northeastern United States.

In his new position, Hollis will be responsible for leading staffing, recruiting, leadership development, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. These areas play a vital role in shaping the organizational culture and ensuring the well-being and growth of M&T Bank’s workforce. By focusing on these key aspects, Hollis aims to further strengthen M&T Bank’s commitment to its employees, customers, and communities.

Tracy Woodrow, who has served as M&T Bank’s CHRO since 2020, will continue to play a crucial role as Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing various departments, including Banking Services, Buffalo Promise Neighborhood (BPN), Corporate Services, Human Resources, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) teams. Woodrow’s extensive experience and continued involvement in M&T Bank’s Executive Leadership Team will provide valuable support and guidance to Hollis in his new role.

Hollis’s previous experience includes serving as CHRO at Flagstar Bank, where he successfully oversaw the human resources function and cultural integration following the bank’s acquisition by New York Community Bancorp (NYCB). He also played a key role in Flagstar’s acquisition of Signature Bank. Hollis has held other notable positions, such as CHRO and Director of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Chief Talent Officer for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, and Senior Vice President of HR for PNC and National City Bank.

Hollis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Illinois Chicago, as well as a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University. His educational background, combined with his extensive professional experience, positions him well to lead M&T Bank’s human resources function effectively.
