Mercury Insurance Becomes LA Kings’ Inaugural Jersey Patch Partner in Landmark Collaboration

Mercury Insurance and the LA Kings have announced a significant collaboration, solidifying Mercury as the NHL team’s first-ever jersey patch partner. This landmark agreement marks a continuation of their 16-year relationship and highlights their shared commitment to the diverse communities of Southern California.

Erik Thompson, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Mercury Insurance, expressed excitement and honor at being chosen as the LA Kings’ inaugural jersey patch partner. Both organizations have deep roots in Los Angeles and a strong dedication to the city and its residents. Thompson emphasized that Mercury and the Kings are integral parts of the fabric of Los Angeles, and this partnership showcases their commitment.

Starting from the 2023-24 NHL season, Mercury’s logo will be prominently featured on the LA Kings’ on-ice home jerseys for all pre-season, regular season, and playoff games held at Crypto.com Arena. Fans will have their first glimpse of the new uniform with the Mercury patch during the team’s pre-season home games against the Anaheim Ducks and the Vegas Golden Knights.

In addition to the jersey patch, Mercury Insurance will enhance the LA Kings’ game-day experience with a unique augmented reality activation called “Where’s Bailey?” Fans will be challenged to find the team mascot, Bailey, throughout the arena and iconic landmarks in Los Angeles. Participants who locate Bailey will have the chance to win a Kings prize package, including an authentic jersey and autographed memorabilia.

The collaboration between Mercury Insurance, the LA Kings, and superstar Kevin Fiala will also recognize and honor local community heroes who are making significant impacts in their respective communities. These individuals will be inducted into the Hockeywood Community Walk of Fame art installation at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, California. Honorees will have the opportunity to meet Fiala, be featured in the art installation, and be celebrated during in-arena events, in addition to receiving a Kings jersey and game tickets.

Both Mercury Insurance and the LA Kings have a long-standing history in Los Angeles, with Mercury Insurance providing top-quality insurance coverage since 1961. The partnership between these two organizations reflects their shared values and commitment to the community.

LA Kings President and Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille expressed his gratitude for Mercury Insurance’s continued support and emphasized the growth and impact they have achieved together. Robitaille looks forward to the upcoming season, where the Kings’ players will proudly wear the Mercury brand on their jerseys, creating cherished memories for fans.
