LightPath Technologies Completes Expansion and Renovation of Orlando Facility

LightPath Technologies, a leading global manufacturer and integrator of optical and infrared technologies, has announced the successful completion of its expansion and renovation project at its Orlando facility. With an investment of over $5 million, the facility’s total footprint has increased from 34,000 square feet to 55,000 square feet.

The expansion includes a significant increase in cleanroom space, which has nearly tripled from 4,000 square feet to 11,700 square feet. This expansion will support LightPath’s strategic assemblies and camera sub-systems businesses. Additionally, the renovation involved consolidating the two Orlando facilities into one, streamlining manufacturing processes and improving operational efficiency.

LightPath also added 6,500 square feet of dedicated engineering space, with a major portion allocated for lab space. This expansion will provide the company with room for future production growth and the ability to enhance its glass manufacturing capabilities, including coating and assembly.

Sam Rubin, CEO of LightPath Technologies, expressed excitement about the completion of this long-term investment in their U.S. manufacturing operations. He highlighted that the upgraded manufacturing space will increase production efficiency and reduce lead times for customers. Furthermore, the expanded area will accommodate future production growth as the company requires additional capabilities.

Rubin acknowledged the support of LightPath’s investors, who have believed in the company’s strategy to evolve into an optical solutions and systems provider. This expansion marks a significant milestone in LightPath’s journey towards providing cutting-edge optical and infrared solutions for various industries.

LightPath Technologies, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, is a vertically integrated provider of optics, photonics, and infrared solutions. The company designs and manufactures proprietary optical and infrared components, including molded glass aspheric lenses, custom molded glass freeform lenses, and infrared lenses. LightPath also offers custom optical assemblies and has manufacturing and sales offices in Dallas, Texas, Latvia, and China.

With this expansion and renovation, LightPath Technologies is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for its innovative optical solutions and continue its mission of delivering high-quality products to customers worldwide.
