Josie Gibson scored massive Ascot win after huge outside bet


Wednesday was certainly Josie Gibson‘s lucky day as she scored a huge Ascot win with an outside bet, The Sun has reported.

The This Morning host, 38, pocketed £1700 with a wager on 22/1 Jimi Hendrix to win the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot 2023, becoming the biggest winner of the day.

‘Everyone told her she was mad to do it but she fancied a flutter. She didn’t put a lot on, just a throwaway amount and ended up winning £ 1,700,’ a telly source revealed.

During the race, the TV favourite was captured fist pumping the air as she displayed her uncontainable glee for her huge win. 

The This Morning star stunned in a hot pink frock as she appeared at the racecourse on behalf of the daytime television show.

The 38-year-old smiled as she posed for snaps in her colourful ensemble, which featured chic cutout detailing at the side.

She collected her hair back into a sleek style, showing off her dewy skin and peachy eyeshadow.

The blonde beauty was later captured giggling and laughing as she beamed with Heart Breakfast host Amanda Holden.

The dynamic duo posed up a storm as they were seen striking a pose for a selfie.

Amanda, 52, looked effortlessly elegant in a lilac gown with statement cutout sleeves.

The presenter opted for a regal theme with plum and purple tones, choosing a maxi-dress with ruched waist detailing.

She accessorised with a glamorous headpiece, adorned with a glitzy veil, and dyed her nails black.

The media personality styled her blonde tresses in a sleek straight style and went with a soft, summery make-up look.

The I’m A Celebrity star, 28, kept things demure in an elegant powder blue skirt suit and taupe pillbox hat as she attended the racing festival.

The opening of Royal Ascot 2023 saw plenty of royals descend on the racecourse to celebrate King Charles’s first event as monarch.

Included in the royal line-up was King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Zara and Mike Tindall, and Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

This year, organisers of the race have paid tribute to Royal Ascot’s ‘biggest fan’, Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away last September.

During her 70-year reign, Her late Majesty attended almost every single Royal Ascot festival, with the exception of last year.

This year, organisers have displayed a heartwarming collection of photos of the Queen visiting Ascot over the years.

They include a black-and-white photo of the royal riding on the tracks in 1960 when she was 34 years old.

The mother-of-four was pictured with a headscarf and riding boots on on as her horse galloped along the track.

The Queen was taking part in an unofficial race with others members of her royal party and ended up finishing fourth.

What’s more, the organisers also selecting a photograph of the Queen beaming at Ladies Day in 2013.

The event turned out to be one of the Queen’s most successful Ascots as her horse Estimate won the Gold Cup – making her the first monarch in 200 years to scoop the prize.

The late royal was pictured beaming at her trophy, which was presented to her by her son Prince Andrew.
