Iconic Musicians and Nonprofits Collaborate to Showcase Adoptable Dogs

In an exciting collaboration, national nonprofit organization Petco Love has joined forces with Dogs Playing for Life, BOBS from Skechers, musicians Rick Springfield and Ace Von Johnson, as well as Dolly Parton’s pet apparel line, “Doggy Parton,” to shine a spotlight on dogs in 43 animal shelters across the country. This initiative is part of the National Playgroup Rockstars Adoption events, taking place on October 7th, in celebration of Rocktober.

The adoption events aim to showcase social dogs, known as “Playgroup Rockstars,” as they play harmoniously in groups, allowing potential adopters to witness their unique personalities. To encourage adoptions, the adoption fees for Rockstar dogs or duos will be waived during the National Playgroup Rockstars Adoption events. Community members are invited to attend a ‘meet and greet’ and witness these dogs in action.

Renowned musicians Rick Springfield and Ace Von Johnson are lending their support to this one-of-a-kind adoption event. Ace Von Johnson, guitarist for L.A. Guns, is passionate about rescuing dogs and believes in the incredible potential of shelter dogs. Dolly Parton, the legendary musician, songwriter, and animal lover, is offering her support through her playful line of pet apparel, “Doggy Parton,” which will be showcased on adoptable dogs at the Williamson County Animal Center.

Rick Springfield, an award-winning musician, has always cherished dogs and recognizes the positive impact they have on people’s lives. He believes that dogs are the true Rock Stars, showcasing unconditional love, loyalty, and endless fun. At the adoption events, these Rockstars will put on a show as they play together and enjoy their day.

Dogs Playing for Life, a nonprofit organization, has developed a unique playgroup shelter dog enrichment program called “Every Dog, Every Day, Let Them Play!” Their goal is to ensure that shelter pets have a positive experience while waiting for their forever homes.
