GK Financing LLC Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Radiosurgery in Peru with Instituto de Gamma Knife del Pacifico SAC

GK Financing LLC, a subsidiary of American Shared Hospital Services, joined forces with Instituto de Gamma Knife del Pacifico SAC (IGKP) to commemorate a significant milestone in the field of radiosurgery in Peru. The event, hosted by Dr. Aldo Berti, Medical Director of IGKP, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the first patient to undergo Stereotactic Radiosurgery Surgery in Peru.

The grand celebration took place at “La Tiendecita Blanca” on September 28, 2023, and brought together expert clinicians from Lima and surrounding provinces. Dr. Berti, who has been successfully treating patients with Gamma Knife technology for nearly three decades, expressed his honor and pleasure in being part of this historic occasion.

During the event, the history and evolution of radiosurgery in Peru were discussed, including the introduction of the new Gamma Knife Esprit. This state-of-the-art technology, soon to be installed at IGKP, will be the first of its kind in Peru and possibly in South America. The Gamma Knife Esprit offers advanced clinical features, such as frameless and frame-based workflows, superior visualization with the Vantage Headframe, on-board CT Imaging for same-day imaging and treatment, and faster treatment planning with the Lightening Planning system.

Gamma Knife radiosurgery is a non-invasive alternative to open surgery and conventional radiotherapy. It precisely targets intracranial tumors and lesions while minimizing damage to healthy tissue, safeguarding motor, sensory, and neurocognitive function. Patients can return home the same day and resume their normal activities within days.

GK Financing LLC, known for making cutting-edge healthcare technology accessible to patients, will showcase their solutions at the upcoming American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in San Diego. This event presents an opportunity for healthcare professionals to learn about the creative financial and turnkey solutions offered by GKF, enabling them to obtain the latest radiosurgery medical treatment devices with no capital outlay.

Peter Gaccione, Board Member of Instituto de Gamma Knife del Pacifico SAC, expressed his excitement about the advanced non-invasive treatment options IGKP can offer to patients in Peru and surrounding countries. The acquisition of the Gamma Knife Esprit will further enhance the clinical treatment benefits provided by IGKP.

Instituto de Gamma Knife del Pacifico SAC (IGKP) opened its doors in 2017, becoming the first center in Peru to offer Gamma Knife equipment for intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery treatments. Over the years, IGKP has provided precise and timely treatment to nearly 800 Peruvian patients, improving their quality of life and eliminating the risk of mortality.

GK Financing, LLC, a subsidiary of American Shared Hospital Services, specializes in providing creative financial and turnkey technology solutions for the Gamma Knife system. They offer various payment models and full project management, allowing healthcare facilities to access state-of-the-art radiosurgery equipment without significant upfront costs.

The collaboration between GK Financing LLC and Instituto de Gamma Knife del Pacifico SAC marks a significant advancement in radiosurgery in Peru. This partnership aims to continue delivering exceptional care to patients while promoting healthcare equity and accessibility for all.
