Images claiming to be the first-ever look inside Elon Musk‘s long-awaited Tesla Cybertruck have surfaced online – and they have caused a rift among fans.
Several shots of the interior appeared Wednesday, believed to have been shot during Elon Musk’s shareholders’ day last week.
One Twitter user said the ‘Cybertruck’s interior looks like it came from a 1980’s low budget sci-fi prop piece,’ while others called the dark gray cabin flat out ‘ugly.’
However, some users think the interior looks ‘simple and clean’ and ‘love the overall look.’
The images, shared on a Cybertruck enthusiast forum, have not been confirmed, but they show a massive interior screen, futuristic-looking seat controllers and a bare cabin.

The Cybertruck – expected to start at $39,900 – has been seen in the wild several times, but never before has the interior been shown.
The photos show a view from the driver and passenger seats and a side shot inside the Cybertruck, which Cybertruck Owners Club shared.
A massive display hangs in the center of the dash, but wires can be seen hanging from the back.
Twitter user Facts Chaser tweeted: ‘Nearly four years after its unveiling, why is the screen activated via this DIY wire assembly?’
The user also highlighted a feature to the diver’s left – a small window shaped like a diamond.
‘That A-pillar monstrosity looks like it would severely obstruct visibility,’ he tweeted.
The center console has a paneled design as the cover that slides open and closed, which looks like what was in the early Model S and X vehicles.
However, fans are more disappointed about the lack of a third middle seat in the front of the Cybertruck, which had been rumored since the vehicle’s debut in 2019.
What the seats do have are controllers fashioned in the same finish as the exterior and crafted in unique designs that some fans were overjoyed to see.
However, people were not so excited when a Cybertruck was spotted in the streets of California last month.

An image of the steel-plated vehicle surfaced online, showing it at a standstill in a Fremont parking lot that looked nothing like the one Musk initially unveiled.
Along with bizarre cords lining the top, the Cybertruck also featured different wheels and front chassis that ‘looks like something a four-year-old created with Lego blocks.’
Twitter user Hilson Valli tweeted. ‘The only way this could work out for Musk is if he announces ‘Just Kidding!’ and releases a reasonable-looking truck that’s been developed in secret all along. Otherwise, this will be a massive flop. It looks like crap.’
Some compared it to ‘something that got rejected for a role in Mad Max: Fury Road’ or the Megaweapon from the 1983 film ‘Warrior of the Lost World.’
‘Yikes, I’ll admit most of the promo shots made it look pretty bad*** but this side profile is ugly af. The stainless steel is gonna be a mess of scratches and finger smudges,’ one user tweeted.

The celebrated event quickly became a nightmare for Musk after the glass on his new electric ‘Cybertruck’ was smashed just after he boasted about it being ‘shatterproof.’
During the announcement of the truck – which looks like an armored vehicle with angular sides – Tesla design chief Franz von Holshausen tried to prove the glass was ‘shatterproof’ by throwing a heavy metal ball at close range.
Musk was heard muttering ‘oh my f***ing God’ when the glass smashed.

The waitlist with no reservation is at least three years from when the first Cybertruck is delivered.
Musk had promised production would begin in early 2021, but that date slipped away. And each year, a new date is set and missed.
The CEO has previously blamed battery supply issues for the delay, saying that each Cybertruck would ‘literally cost a million dollars a piece or more’ if Tesla had started producing the futuristic vehicle in 2021.
Production is now slated for this year, with deliveries in Q3.

When activated, it extends outwards and upwards, creating enough room for two people to sleep on an inbuilt bed.
Though it’s an enclosed camping space, the attachment can also open up on one side to allow drivers to sleep under the stars in ‘stargazing mode’ if they so desire.
