Disabled Tech Founders Selected for 2Gether-International’s Fall 2023 Cohort Powered by Comcast NBCUniversal

2Gether-International (2GI), the leading startup accelerator for entrepreneurs with disabilities, has announced the participants for its Fall 2023 Cohort powered by Comcast NBCUniversal. This ten-week accelerator program aims to support disabled founders of early-stage, high-growth tech startups by improving their pitch, refining their business models, and fostering the mindset that disabilities can be a competitive advantage in business.

The 11 participants selected for the Fall 2023 Cohort will have the opportunity to engage with the entrepreneurship ecosystem and receive guidance from industry experts. The program will culminate in a pitch competition, where the entrepreneurs will have a chance to win $10,000 in seed funding.

Diego Mariscal, Founder, CEO & Chief Disabled Officer of 2GI, expressed his pride in partnering with Comcast NBCUniversal to expand their network of disabled founders. He emphasized that this partnership goes beyond financial backing, as it enables 2GI and the participating founders to engage more meaningfully with the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Mariscal believes that together, they will continue to highlight disability as a competitive advantage for startups and businesses.

Juan Otero, Senior Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at Comcast NBCUniversal, congratulated the Fall 2023 Cohort and commended 2Gether-International for their commitment to disability inclusion and entrepreneurship. Otero stated that Comcast values disability inclusion and is grateful for the opportunity to support these visionary entrepreneurs. He emphasized that disability is not a lack of ability but a lack of a solution.

The 2GI Fall 2023 Cohort features a diverse array of businesses, ranging from those improving the lives of people with disabilities to startups poised to make advancements in manufacturing and justice accessibility. Keevin O’Rourke, Managing Director of 2Gether-International, expressed excitement about the potential growth of these companies through the accelerator program and beyond.

Entrepreneurship has become an increasingly viable option for people with disabilities due to systemic obstacles and biases in the workforce. Limited access to affordable startup capital and a scarcity of tailored support and programs have hindered their progress. 2GI’s Cohorts aim to address these challenges by providing visionary founders from the Disability Community with the necessary support and investment capital.

Since its inception in 2019, 2GI’s accelerator programs have supported around 70 startups, collectively raising approximately $50 million in funding from various sources. The 2GI network consists of over 600 founders with disabilities from 15 countries worldwide.
