Delta Air Lines Addresses Engine Parts Issue, Ensures Compliance with FAA Guidelines

Delta Air Lines has announced that it has been made aware by one of its service providers about a small number of overhauled engines that contain parts not meeting documentation requirements. The company is actively working with the engine service provider to replace the affected parts and ensure compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) guidelines.

Although Delta did not disclose the name of the engine service provider responsible for the overhaul, it has been reported that the problematic parts were certified by AOG Technics. A third-party, whose identity remains undisclosed, detected the issue. Last month, CFM International, a leading jet engine maker, identified numerous engine components that may have been sold with forged paperwork by British distributor AOG Technics. The FAA had previously stated that AOG Technics sold bushings for GE Model CF6 engines without obtaining the necessary approval.

Delta Air Lines is committed to maintaining the highest safety standards and is taking swift action to rectify the situation. By working closely with the engine service provider, the company aims to replace the non-compliant parts promptly and ensure that all engines meet the required documentation standards set by the FAA.

The airline industry places significant importance on adhering to strict guidelines and regulations to ensure passenger safety. Delta’s proactive approach in addressing this issue demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the highest level of safety and compliance. Passengers can continue to have confidence in Delta Air Lines’ commitment to their well-being and travel experience.
