Ever fancied the opportunity to step into the chaos of a Premier League match and come face-to-face with some of the best players in the country? Well, now’s your chance to do so with Burnley‘s latest job vacancy.

Last season’s Championship title winners are preparing for their first season back in the English top-flight by recruiting for a Stretcher Bearer at Turf Moor.

Man your stretcher station and prepare to be the last line in Burnley’s defence when players get injured and be responsible for carrying millions of pounds worth of talent off the pitch.

The role is open to all applicants who are able ‘to have a flexible approach to work’ as you bend, lift, carry and attempt not to drop injured players requiring assistance.

The job role states: ‘An exciting opportunity has become available for a Stretcher Bearer at a pivotal time of transition and change for Burnley Football Club.’

The transition from sideline to pitch and back again will challenge the successful individual with being responsible for providing expert response and care to injured Premier League superstars.

Due to the footballing calendar, the requirements further state weekend and evening work will be a must, meaning there’s no time to sit back and relax, although you will get a free ticket to the game you’re working on.

Stretchers are usually carried off by teams of either four or six individuals and are usually aided by the medical team of the respective clubs.

Although Burnley have laid out their specific request for the correct person, adding: ‘The ideal candidate will have experience in pre-hospital first-aid and experience working within a similar role.

‘They will also need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work evenings and weekends.’

Stretcher Bearer responsibilities will include: being a member of the club’s pool of carriers, liaising with the safety and medical teams including Doctor, Team Physiotherapist, Paramedic and First Aid, performing instructions and rules as set out in the Stretcher bearers Procedures and Emergency Medical Procedure, and be fit and active to perform the manual handling requirements to lift and lower a stretcher.

Of course lifting and lowering of the stretcher is the most important part of the role and full training will be given by the club on how to do this.

If you fancy staring into the face of injury-stricken stars and whispering words of sympathy as you carry them off the pitch then this might be your next dream job.
