Blackpink’s Jennie Kim is rumored to be joining Marvel Cinematic as part of first-ever Asian superhero group

Could Blackpink’s Jennie Kim be the next member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The 27-year-old singer, who is currently starring in HBO’s The Idol, has long been rumored to have caught the eye of the executives in the MCU.   

Asia One quoted the Korean media outlet Dispatch who claimed the Shut Down singer will be part of the first-ever Asian superhero group named Team Agents of Atlas.

Jennie, who goes by the stage name Jennie Ruby Jane, will be able to incorporate her singing talents into her role.

The outlet reported her character Seol Hee, also known as Luna Snow, is a K-pop singer.

She is also superhero who uses her ability to manipulate ice to protect people in the Pacific Rim and around the world.

The character of Seol Hee was first introduced into the Marvelverse in the 2020 video game Marvel Super War, and was voiced by K-Pop star Luna, from the group f(x).

Dedicated fans have added some gas to the rumor mill, pointing out that Asian MCU stars including Fala Chen, Claudia Kim and Benedict Wong have followed Jennie on Instagram. 

The popular singer and actress broke barriers in 2019, becoming the first Korean artist to perform at the Coachella Music Festival. 

Speaking to Grazia UK, Jennie’s The Idol co-star Lily-Rose Depp said ‘I’m so in awe of her.’

‘She’s so sweet, and for somebody who lives the kind of life she lives, she is so humble and kind and just, like a real girl’s girl. I love her.’

In an article with Vogue Japan, the Born Pink artist said she relies on a positive mindset to accomplish her goals.

‘If you believe in yourself more than anyone else and work hard, you will definitely make things happen one way or another,’ she advised.
