Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Receives Approval for Rezoning, Expands Exploration Potential

Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc. (ASCU) has announced that the City of Casa Grande has approved the rezoning for the northern parcel of the MainSpring Property, known as Parks/Salyer South, to Industrial use. This approval allows ASCU to begin drilling and prepare an exploration plan for the area. The rezoning of the southern parcel is still in process with the City of Casa Grande, along with a General Plan Amendment.

In addition to the rezoning approval, ASCU has acquired a 2.5 acre Mineral Exploration Permit (MEP) within the Parks/Salyer deposit. This acquisition provides ASCU with a low-risk, high impact exploration target and operational flexibility for future operations. The MEP also improves access to mineralized material and eliminates the potential for sterilization related to mine planning activities adjacent to the parcel.

The Parks/Salyer mineral resource contains a total of 2.9 billion pounds of copper at a grade of 1.015%, inferred. ASCU is expecting to issue an updated mineral resource update on the entire Cactus Project, inclusive of Parks/Salyer, in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Travis Snider, VP Sustainability and External Relations at ASCU, expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from the City of Casa Grande and stakeholders in the redevelopment of the Cactus Mine. The rezoning of the north parcel opens up new land for future operations and adds the potential for incremental mineral resource growth.

ASCU aims to become a mid-tier copper producer with low operating costs and is focused on developing the Cactus and Parks/Salyer Projects. The company’s principal asset is the Cactus Project, situated on private land in Arizona. The Parks/Salyer deposit, contiguous to the Cactus Project, offers the potential for phased expansion of the Cactus Mine.

With a strong executive management team and Board, ASCU brings a track record of successful project delivery in North America and global capital markets expertise.
