Angus Cloud’s mother Lisa shares her late son’s first audition video for Euphoria: ‘It

While the late actor Angus Cloud continues to be remembered by fans all around the world, his mother Lisa has shared her son’s first audition tape for Euphoria.

The Oakland native was just 25 years old when he passed in late July, and just six years earlier, he was working as a waiter in Brooklyn, when he was discovered by casting director Jennifer Venditti.

Lisa – who revealed last week she thinks her son’s overdose was accidental – took to Facebook earlier this week, sharing a link to a casting website that features a video taken when Cloud was just 19 years old in 2017, two years before Euphoria debuted.

‘This was just sent to me by Jennifer Venditti who scouted Angus in Brooklyn. It’s his first tape,’ Lisa said in the post.

‘After this was seen by the creators of Euphoria, he was asked to read for Fezco. It really captures my son’s extraordinary spirit,’ she added.

The video is over six minutes long, which begins with the actor being asked to describe himself, answering he’s, ‘goofy’ and he ‘does whatever is in front of you.’

He said that, ‘we call it pepping, when you just engage in any random spontaneous activity, so we’ll just leave out the house and just find a whole lot of fun stuff to do.’

When asked what kind of music he listens to, he said, ‘I like all good music, whatever pleases my ears, but I tend to listen to hip-hop. I don’t exactly know why, it just sounds the best to me.’

He was then asked who some of his favorite artists were, and he mentioned his friends, Slim Luciano, King Heem and Cherokee.

When asked what the craziest thing he’s ever done, he said that was a ‘hard one,’ but he said that he and a friend, ‘jumped into the San Francisco Zoo, over the fences but we ended up in the f***ing cage with the kangaroos, like the mini kangaroos you know.’

When asked how that happened, he said, ‘We didn’t have money for that stuff, you know, so we’d sneak into the amusement park, the Six Flags. And then the security was trying to find us so we just kept going.’

The producer joked it’s a good thing he didn’t jump into the tiger cage, but he added, ‘In the Oakland Zoo I jumped into the warthog one, bro, that s**t was really sketchy.’

When asked about his friends, he said he hangs out with people who are, ‘down for anything,’ and when he started to say that he has, ‘a lot of friends,’ he stopped himself and said, ‘that’s irrelevant.’

‘A lot of my friends, you just gotta know how people act so you just can’t get mad at em for that. You have friends who might act one way, and you don’t like that s**t, but you just gotta accept that,’ Cloud added.

When asked about the best part of his life, he said, ‘Just the freedom. I don’t know. Just the love that I have to give and to receive, you know what I’m saying? Everywhere, you know, surrounded by it. Just blessed to be alive, I don’t know what’s the best part of my life, just blessed being alive.’

And for the worst part of his life, Cloud said, ‘S**t, I don’t know! It’s all good over here, nothing to complain about.’

When asked what’s one thing in life he wishes he could do but hasn’t done yet, Cloud said, ‘That’s a hard one. What I’m planning on doing soon, riding on freight trains. I’ve always wanted to do that since I was younger.’

When asked if he’d rather be rich or famous, he says, ‘Rich, definitely,’ and adds that he ‘for sure’ believes in true love.

‘Me personally, I’ve experienced love, and now, I try to shut off my feelings to other people because I don’t want to get caught up in my feelings,’ he said.

‘You can’t help love, if that s**t comes, you’re not gonna be able to say no. You can’t help that, it’s just an instinct. That’s how I feel about love,’ Cloud said as the first video ended.

Cloud was found unresponsive in his family home in Oakland, California on July 31, and pronounced dead on the scene by responders.

Just one week earlier, he was in Ireland, burying his father, who died in mid-May at just 65 from mesothelioma.

While there were reports that Cloud was battling, ‘suicidal thoughts,’ Lisa said she believes her son’s overdose was accidental.

‘Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time.

‘I don’t know if or what he may have put in his body… I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up.

‘We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world.’

It was added, ‘Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case. To honor his memory, please make random acts of kindness part of your daily life.’

‘I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one.’
