Amdocs Enables Migration of Classic Applications to Azure Following Microsoft and Oracle Partnership

Amdocs, a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies, has announced that service providers will now have the option to migrate their Amdocs classic applications to Microsoft Azure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This development comes after the expanded partnership between Microsoft and Oracle to deliver Oracle database services on OCI in Azure data centers.

By migrating their Amdocs classic applications to Azure or OCI, service providers can integrate these applications with the latest solutions in the Amdocs portfolio, including the recently announced Amdocs Customer Engagement Platform. This platform combines Amdocs’ end-to-end solutions, from customer experience to network automation, with the capabilities of the Oracle and Microsoft Clouds, offering a seamless customer experience.

Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs, expressed excitement about the flexibility this collaboration brings to customers. He highlighted that service providers can leverage Oracle Database@Azure to achieve scalability, performance, and resiliency for their Amdocs mission-critical platforms and data on the cloud. This collaboration aims to accelerate service providers’ hybrid cloud journeys and help them achieve their strategic goals.

Brett Tanzer, Vice President of Azure Product Management at Microsoft, emphasized that Microsoft recognizes the importance of allowing customers to choose the technology that best suits their needs. Oracle Database@Azure provides an ideal platform for partners like Amdocs to help customers advance their business transformation by harnessing the power of data in the Microsoft Cloud.

Amdocs is committed to taking the communications industry to the cloud and enabling service providers to differentiate themselves in the 5G era. With approximately 30,000 employees worldwide, Amdocs aims to accelerate service providers’ migration to the cloud, digitalize their operations, and empower them to provide next-generation communication and media experiences.
