Leonardo DiCaprio throws his support behind vegan trainer brand loved by Hollywood A-listers and royalty – with pairs selling for an eye-popping \u00a3200<\/h2>\n

Climate activist Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a>\u00a0has invested his cash in\u00a0vegan<\/a>\u00a0footwear brand L\u00d8CI MailOnline has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The British label is popular amongst his fellow A-listers as well as royalty, including Ben Affleck<\/a>, Eva Longoria<\/a>,\u00a0Meghan Markle<\/a> and Princess Eugenie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leo first threw his support behind the company in October last year saying at the time:\u00a0 ‘I am proud to be an investor in L\u00d8CI, a brand dedicated to minimising its environmental impact, and centred around creating cruelty-free, ethical footwear.’<\/p>\n

L\u00d8CI’s sneakers come in numerous colours and designs, but are not cheap and cost on average of \u00a3200 a pair.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The brand boasts about ‘ethical fashion without sacrificing on style’ and uses ‘premium repurposed ocean and land plastic’, which was no doubt a draw for climate activist Leo.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pricey:\u00a0L\u00d8CI’s stylish footwear, which boast numerous colours and styles, are not cheap and cost on average \u00a3200 a pair\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

100% vegan, cruelty-free, and unisex, L\u00d8CI sneakers are handmade in Porto, Portugal using recycled ocean plastics, as well as renewable and biodegradable materials where possible to help deliver a stylish eco-conscious sneaker.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Production is scaled up or down in response to demand to manage environmental impact. 10% of online profits on every pair purchased are donated to conservation charities focused on protecting wildlife.<\/p>\n

James Blunt<\/a>‘s aristocrat wife Sofia has also designed a range for the label which benefited the\u00a0Blue Marine Foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier this year Titanic star Leo risked accusations of eco-hypocrisy as he was seen leaving Porto Cervo, Sardinia via a private airport.<\/p>\n

The actor who is a noted climate activist, boarded a plane at Olbia Private Airport which has its own private jet terminal for wealthy travellers.<\/p>\n

It comes as he has travelled between the US and cities such as London, Milan, and Paris over recent months – accumulating over 12,000 miles of travel.<\/p>\n

Leo\u00a0has previously come under fire for his use of gas-guzzling private jets.<\/p>\n

In 2016, he was ridiculed for an 8,000 mile trip via private jet<\/a>\u00a0from Europe to New York City to accept an award for his environmental activism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Carbon emissions for private jets vary, but by some accounts are more than 37 times higher than flying commercial.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It comes after the actor has been at the centre of a controversy – following his public kiss with Italian model <\/a>Vittoria Ceretti, 25, in Ibiza earlier this month.<\/p>\n

And The Hollywood star has received some backlash on Twitter<\/a>\u00a0for dating yet another younger model.<\/p>\n

The Revenant sensation was seen in a passionate clinch with his new flame Vittoria during a recent visit to Hi Ibiza nightclub on the Spanish party island.<\/p>\n

He has a reputation for only dating women 25 or under and famously tends to break up with them after they pass the milestone – as he did with his last serious girlfriend\u00a0 Camila Morron<\/a>e, now 26.<\/p>\n

After the pictures emerged with Vittoria, many were quick to ridicule him for the fact it wouldn’t be a long relationship as she will turn 26 next June.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One wrote: ‘She gonna be gone before this tweet is done,’ while another joked: ‘One more year and he won’t look at her again.’<\/p>\n

Leonardo and Vittoria, who have a 23 year age gap, were spotted gazing lovingly into each others eyes before they locked lips while partying at the venue until 4:30am.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
