Templeton Global Income Fund Announces Monthly Distribution for October 2023

Templeton Global Income Fund (NYSE:GIM) has recently declared a monthly distribution of $0.0291 per share from net investment income. The distribution will be payable on October 31, 2023, to shareholders of record on October 16, 2023, with the ex-dividend date set for October 13, 2023.

Under the managed distribution plan authorized by the Fund’s Board of Trustees, shareholders can expect a consistent minimum fixed rate of 8% annually. This rate is based on the average monthly net asset value (NAV) of the Fund’s common shares. The primary objective of the Plan is to provide shareholders with a steady distribution rate each month and reduce the discount between the market price and the NAV of the Fund’s common shares.

The Fund aims to generate the majority of its distribution from net ordinary income and short-term capital gains, aligning with its investment strategy and risk profile. In cases where sufficient distributable income is not available, the Fund may distribute long-term capital gains and/or return of capital to maintain the managed distribution rate. It’s important to note that a return of capital distribution does not reflect the Fund’s investment performance and should not be mistaken for “yield” or “income.”

The Board retains the right to amend or terminate the Plan at any time, which could potentially impact the market price of the Fund’s common shares. The Plan will undergo periodic reviews by the Board, including an annual assessment of the fixed rate to determine if adjustments are necessary.

Shareholders should refrain from drawing conclusions about the Fund’s investment performance solely based on the distribution amount or the terms of the Plan. The reported amounts and sources of distributions are estimates and will not be provided for tax reporting purposes. The actual amounts and sources for tax reporting will depend on the Fund’s investment experience for the remainder of its fiscal year and may be subject to changes based on tax regulations. Shareholders will receive a Form 1099-DIV for the calendar year, providing instructions on reporting the Fund’s distributions for federal income tax purposes.
