Zach Wilson’s mom, Lisa Neelman Wilson, thanked fans for their support after her son stepped in for the New York Jets following Aaron Rodgers’ ‘heartbreaking’ injury Monday night. 

Rodgers’ Jets career got off to the worst start imaginable Monday night when he exited New York’s win over the Buffalo Bills after injuring his left ankle. 

Coach Robert Saleh admitted it’s ‘not good’ and that he believes Rodgers has an Achilles injury, amid fears the quarterback’s season is over. 

Backup quarterback Wilson, 23, stepped in just 3:45 into the game as the veteran was helped on to a cart and driven away for an X-Ray, ultimately leading the Jets to a 22-16 win at a rainy MetLife Stadium.

Despite previously saying he would ‘make that dude’s life hell’ if the Jets signed a veteran quarterback, Wilson has closely studied Rodgers throughout the preseason with the four-time MVP acting as a mentor. 

Wilson’s mom, Lisa, took to Instagram following Rodgers’ injury, writing on her story: ‘We love @aaronrodgers12. He’s been such a great mentor. Heartbreaking.’ 

In a separate story, Lisa also thanked fans for their support, admitting it was tough to watch her son step in.

She wrote: ‘Watching your kids do hard things, is so much harder than doing them yourself. Not the evening we expected… Just trying to catch my breathe [sic]. I am so overwhelmed by love and support. Literally hundreds of texts and DMs. Some I know and many I have never met. Just know I see you, I can feel you carrying me and I am so grateful to have such amazing people surrounding me and my family. Thank you.’ 

Rodgers dropped back on first down from the Jets’ 43-yard-line and tried to roll out to his left before being sacked by Floyd for a loss of 10 yards. But his left foot appeared to get stuck in the Jets’ turf as he was being tackled.

The Jets still managed to pull off a sensational win with Xavier Gipson’s winning 65-yard punt return touchdown in overtime sending MetLife Stadium wild. 

Rodgers agreed to a restructured contract in July that gives him $75 million in fully guaranteed money over this season and the next. It amounts to a nearly $35 million pay cut from the deal he had in Green Bay. 

Wilson, the former No. 2 overall pick, reportedly had followed Rodgers around like a ‘puppy’ during preseason.

‘You would think that there’s Velcro between Zach Wilson and Aaron Rodgers,’ King told Mike Florio on Pro Football Talk in July. 

‘Zach Wilson is like the puppy to the side of Aaron Rodgers. He is always talking to him, he’s always trying to suck out information from him.

‘Because, I’m sure – I didn’t talk to Zach Wilson – but I’m sure Zach Wilson figures “Hey, we do this for two years, and in training camp 2025, whatever, I get a real, legitimate chance to be a quarterback again”, and that’s how he is taking this.’

Rodgers had spoken glowingly of the 23-year-old, insisting that, despite Wilson’s previous comments, he had made him feel welcome in New York. 

‘He’s been incredible,’ Rodgers said in June. ‘He hasn’t made my life hell everyday. He’s been a joy to work with and I give him so much credit because it´s a tough situation what he went through.’ 

It is a stark contrast to Wilson’s last offseason when his ex-girlfriend accused him of sleeping with his mom’s best friend. 

Abbey Gile made the accusations after she was slammed a ‘homie hopper’ when reports surfaced that she was dating Wilson’s college roommate and best friend, Washington Commanders wide receiver Dax Milne. 

At the time Lisa told DailyMail.com: ‘She (Abbey) is a very angry girl.’

The Back To The Future cast reunited for an image shared to Twitter – now known as X –  on Tuesday.

Christopher Lloyd, 84, posted the fun snapshot asking for more than 88K likes. He received over 250K in over a day.

Also seen in the happy image was Michael J Fox, 62, who starred in the blockbuster sci-fi as Marty McFly, and Lea Thompson, 62, who played the role of Lorraine in the first two films of the franchise.

Tom Wilson, 64, was also in the pic; he played bully Biff Tannen.

It has been 38 years since the first Back To The Future film was released. 

Back to the Future is a comedy franchise created by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. 

The franchise follows the adventures of a high school student, Marty McFly, and an eccentric scientist, Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown, as they use a DeLorean time machine to time travel to different periods in the history of the fictional town of Hill Valley, California.

The first Back to the Future film was the highest-grossing film of 1985 and became an international phenomenon, leading to the second and third films, which were back-to-back film productions, released in 1989 and 1990, respectively. 

Though the sequels did not perform quite as well at the box office as the first film, the trilogy remains immensely popular and has yielded such spin-offs as an animated television series and a motion-simulation ride at the Universal Studios Theme Parks as well as a video game and a stage musical. 

The film’s visual effects were done by Industrial Light and Magic. The first film won an Academy Award for Sound Editing

The three films were Back to the Future (1985), Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990).

This comes six months after all four actors were last seen together.

Lea shared the shot to social media. Thompson captioned her post, ‘Wow, honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family.’

She added: ‘So many fun fan moments too and a llama.’

The beauty also shared more moments on her Instagram stories, including two adorable pictures with Fox, who played the iconic Marty McFly in all three films.

The Spin City alum took to his Instagram stories to show off a group photo with his arms around his fellow cast members.

He wrote: ‘I love being at these FanExpo events and seeing some of my favorite people like Lea, Tom, Chris and all you #bttf heads. Heavy.’

Wilson, who starred as Biff Tannen, shared a selfie of the group to his account with the caption: ‘Okay, so this happened. 2023.’

Thompson also included several videos with her co-stars and a behind-the-scenes look at the event in her post.

In one of the videos, she caught Lloyd, in the shot, who starred as Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown, the iconic scientist,

‘Look who’s here. Look what the cat dragged in,’ Thompson said of Lloyd, both boasting smiles on their faces.

Another clip showed her snuggling up to Wilson, calling him ‘my favorite, favorite guy ever.’

Wilson then replied: ‘I love this lady. It’s so great to see you. You’re so fabulous.’

She retorted, quoting Wilson’s character’s go-to insult from the films, ‘I’m a butthead, right?’

He then called back to his character by gently knocking his fist on Thompson’s head and said, ‘Hello, anybody home?’

Fox and Lloyd had a smaller reunion in October when the two shared an emotional moment at Comic-Con in New York.

The pair shared a warm embrace on the Comic-Con stage before participating in a panel together, almost 40 years after the first film’s release. 

‘The best part of this movie was working with Chris,’ he said, also adding that he found it ‘fun’ working with Chris ‘because he’s just genius.’

He also said that the pair had an ‘immediate chemistry,’ while Lloyd called Fox the ‘King of Exposition.’

Another topic for many fans has been Fox’s declining health.

The Doc Hollywood actor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 1991.

It was evident that the degenerative disease was taking its physical toll on his body as he was seen staggering as he walked on stage at the Comic-Con event.

Since his diagnosis, the iconic actor has focused his life on raising money to research the disease.

He has since raised over $1 billion in research funding via the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

In November, Fox was presented with an honorary Academy Award for his work surrounding the disease.

Lainey Wilson voiced her excitement about the fifth and final season of Yellowstone, which Paramount Network announced would end for good in November.

When asked if she was ‘worried’ about what’s next for her future on the show, the 30-year-old country music singer gushed that ‘no matter which direction it goes, it’s gonna be incredible.’

She explained that Taylor Sheridan, who co-created the hit Western drama series, ‘can do no wrong’ in her ‘opinion.’ 

‘But yeah. I’m waiting for that call. I’m like, ‘Y’all let me know when to be there and I’ll be there,” the Hold My Halo crooner told Entertainment Tonight at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday. 

The Louisiana native, who moved to Nashville to pursue her music career, made her acting debut in the series as a local and free-spirited musician, named Abby.

Her character embarks on a passionate romance with Ian Bohen’s character, Ryan, who works for Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. 

While speaking about filming her first on-screen kiss, Wilson joked that she ‘didn’t really know’ what she was doing, but went ‘head-first.’ 

‘I was going to give people their money’s worth,’ she previously told USA Today. ‘I told my mommy and daddy, ‘You might not want to watch this show.’ I don’t want to be on their prayer list.’ 

Prior to joining the cast, Wilson’s music was featured on the show multiple times. 

‘[Taylor] had put a few of my songs in the show and then invited me out to Vegas to play a horse-riding competition, and that’s where I got to meet him,’ she recalled to Us Weekly last month. ‘[We] became buddies and, you know, I knew the friendship would lead to something. I didn’t know it necessarily meant me being in the show.’

The actress went on to recall how, last February, Sheridan told her he wanted ‘to create a character specifically for her.’

She said Sheridan wanted her to wear her ‘bell bottoms’ and sing her ‘own songs’ but ‘go by a musician named Abby.’

Her comments come after a new report from the Wall Street Journal shed light on Sheridan’s allegedly high expenses to create the wildly popular series.

Sheridan allegedly charges Paramount as high as $50,000 a week to film Yellowstone on his own ranch in Texas, nearly $210K to train actors at a ‘Cowboy Camp’ held on his own property, and rents herds of cattle out for $25 a head.

All this is in addition to the money he already makes as the writer, producer, and sometimes director of Yellowstone and its spin-offs.

Earlier this month, news broke that Yellowstone would end after five seasons as show star Kevin Costner begins divorce proceedings with estranged wife Christine  Baumgartner.

The report outlined the high expenses Sheridan has charged his production partners to create the series. He works with Paramount, which funds his series, and 101 Studios, the organization which creates his shows. 

Sheridan declined a request by WSJ to be interviewed for the story.  

At the ‘Cowboy Camps’, actors are taught how to work with horses and realistically depict ranch life. WSJ reported Paramount was charged $214,979.61 for the camp leading into season five, which lasted around a week.

About $33,000 of that was just for catering. Use of his horses was also costly – Paramount was charged $2,000 a head.

In another example cited by WSJ, a wrangler thousands of miles away from set also charged production $3,000. The wrangler explained to the skeptical production office that she was working on one of Sheridan’s ranches and getting his horses ready for filming. 

Sheridan also uses his preferred farrier to work with the horses. 

In May 2022, two of Sheridan’s farriers were flown in from Texas to Montana, in another expense which annoyed the studio head. 

‘Are you kidding me? We can’t find a local person?’ David Glasser, head of 101 Studios, said in an email to production staffers.

In addition, 24 horse saddles ordered by the prop master cost a jaw-dropping $23,519.19. The saddles were to be done in the style of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. 

‘We have had 5 seasons of a show. And we are just ordering saddles now?’ Glasser asked in one email of the expenses. 

Another point of contention was the creation of $3,130 worth of prop jewelry being made out of state, despite them being able to apply for tax breaks by using in-state vendors.

The high costs also extend to Sheridan’s other popular Yellowstone spin-offs. According to WSJ, it costs at least $22 million to make a single episode of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel.

While both Paramount and 101 Studios both conceded his shows are not cheap to make, they are content with their working relationship.

‘Taylor’s shows are among our most successful and profitable,’ a spokeswoman for Paramount told WSJ.

As for 101 Studios, executives told WSJ they try to compromise with Sheridan when it comes to budgeting and creating a quality show. While they claimed they were cost-conscious, 101 Studios say the success of Sheridan’s shows prove they are worth the high price tag.

According to WSJ, it costs over $500 million a year for Paramount to create Sheridan’s programs. That figure also includes the first season of the Yellowstone spin-off 1923, which cost nearly $200 million.

In contrast, an episode of HBO’s The Last of Us costs $16-$18 million an episode while House of the Dragon usually costs under $20 million an episode, according to WSJ sources.

The high costs come as investors scrutinize Paramount. On Thursday, they reported a first quarter loss of $1.1 billion. The loss is due in part to more money being spent on streaming content.

Last week, Paramount Network announced that Yellowstone would officially end with the final episodes of the fifth season launching in November.

The show has been a monster hit for the network, and tells the story of the Dutton family, and their battles over their gigantic Montana ranch. 

It is still a ratings smash, but the atmosphere on set is said to have become fraught over Costner’s alleged insistence on only working part of the week. Costner has also allegedly had a tense relationship with Sheridan. 

Despite the cancellation, fans of Yellowstone will likely be soothed by news that a sequel has already been given a full-series order.

Matthew McConaughey has been tipped as its possible star, although producers have yet to confirm any members of its new cast.
