A Japanese man who dresses in his bespoke collie costume has said that online trolls are making fun of his desire to be a dog.

Known only as Toco, the man spent two million Yen – which equates to £12,480 – on a lifelike costume to fulfil his lifelong fantasy of ‘becoming an animal’.

Toco waited for 40 days before the special suits and makeup company Zeppet finished his dog costume and he finally realised his dream.

In some of his most recent updates to his almost 30,000 YouTube subscribers, Toco was seen playing in his backyard – on all fours – and attempting to perform tricks in exchange for fake dog food.

But he also recently ventured into the outside world to meet other people and animals for the first time.

In a pair of surreal videos posted to his YouTube channel ‘I want to be an animal’, Toco is first seen being taken out for a walk on a leash, and is later seen sniffing at other dogs in a park before rolling around on the floor.

Toco has now claimed that he is being bullied online.

One Twitter user said: ‘A Japanese man spent over $20K for this border collie costume. You cannot convince me this isn’t some weird sex thing.

‘Men will literally spend $20,000 to transform into a border collie instead of going to therapy.’

Responding to the comments, Toco said: ‘I’m just sad that people can think that. I love animals and enjoy play-acting like a collie. This is my hobby, so I will carry on. It makes me happy and other people happy, too.’

Toco’s antics were seemingly well-received in the video by passers-by and other dogs, who seemed inquisitive above all else.

But despite having built a cult following, Toco is not yet ready to take off his mask.

Toco told MailOnline in May last year: ‘Ever since I was a small child, I wanted to be an animal. I think it is a desire to transform.

‘I’ve thought about it since I can remember.’

The dog-lover said he has hidden his identity and his human face from the world because he doesn’t want to be judged by people he knows.

‘I don’t want my hobbies to be known,’ he said, ‘especially by the people I work with.’

‘They think it’s weird that I want to be a dog. For the same reason why I can’t show my real face.’

Then late last year, Toco told the Mirror he’s still not yet built up enough confidence to tell some of his closest friends about his hobby.

‘I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird,’ he said. ‘My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal.’

Toco said he enjoys ‘doing things that only dogs do’.

In September, Toco first attempted an outdoor walk. He said in a YouTube video documenting the experience he felt ‘nervous and a little scared’.

‘I’m wearing a leash because people are surprised when they see me. I’m very nervous,’ he said in the video.

‘Do you remember your dreams from when you are little? You want to be a hero or a wizard.

‘I remember writing in my grade school graduation book that I wanted to be a dog and walk outside.’

His now viral videos have attracted like-minded fans, with one saying: ‘You inspire us to fulfil our dreams too.’

Another wrote: ‘I hope I become the animal I want to be as well. You’re an inspiration to us.’

Japanese company Zeppet, which creates costumes for TV commercials and films, spent 40 days making the outfit.

A spokesman said: ‘Modelled after a collie dog, it reproduces the appearance of a real dog walking on four legs.’

Matilda Alanna Kennedy trolls Sam Kerr by saying she’s submissive to her glamorous football star girlfriend Kristie Mewis in cheeky video

  • Kerr and Mewis have been an item for two years
  • Announced romance after Tokyo Olympics
  • Kennedy decided to stitch up her teammate

As if missing the Matildas‘ opening two matches of the FIFA Women’s World Cup wasn’tt hard enough for Aussie star Sam Kerr, now she has copped some friendly fire from her own teammate.

Kerr sat out the matches against Republic of Ireland and Nigeria in the group stage of the showpiece event being hosted in Australia and New Zealand with a calf injury.

However, the pain of missing out on captaining her country hasn’t stopped her superstar teammate Alanna Kennedy from engaging in some cheeky banter on the team bus.

Kennedy, who plays for Manchester City in the English FA Women’s Super League, filmed Chelsea star Kerr between matches in Australia recently.

Unbeknownst to Kerr, her Matildas teammate was also sledging her about her love for partner and American World Cup star Kristie Mewis.

Kerr has enjoyed a two-year romance with former rival Kristie Mewis who played for the Team USA football side that beat the Matildas at the Tokyo Olympics.

Rumours swirled about the couple following that result when they were seen embracing each other on the pitch despite being on opposing sides.

The couple eventually confirmed they were an item and routinely share loved-up images on their social media accounts, including Mewis recently sharing a cheeky tattoo that reads ‘baby’ on her inner thigh for her Matildas love.

The flow of PDAs and couple photos evidently inspired Kennedy, who used her phone to take the footage of Kerr.

She added a ‘What era are you in?’ caption above Kerr’s head as the oblivious striker stared at the camera.

The app then reeled through a range of different options including the ‘forever alone era’, ‘main character era’ and ‘good girl era’ before settling on ‘simp era’.

Urban Dictionary defines a simp as ‘someone who does way too much for a person they like’, adding that they are ‘overly submissive [so] that other [people] cringe and feel ashamed when seeing them’.

Doubling down on the sledge, Kennedy then tagged Mewis in the post.

Kennedy posted the footage of a bemused Kerr with the overlaid words 'simp era' referring to her constant posts about girlfriend Mewis

Fans were very quick to pick up on how unimpressed Kerr was with the troll.

‘Sam smiles like kids do for their school photos,’ one posted.

‘Help Sam does not look happy doing this,’ posted another.

‘Alanna you are a legend for this,’ added another.

While Kerr and Mewis have not commented on the post, their loved-up messages on social media are likely to continue.

A FaceTime selfie between Kerr and Mewis was shared onto Instagram just hours before the Matildas kicked off the World Cup last week.

Kerr is hopeful of returning from injury for the Matildas in their final group stage match against Canada, which they must win to progress to the knockout stage of the tournament.

Aussie NBA star Ben Simmons trolls his old Philadelphia 76ers teammates in savage fashion as they lose finals series to Boston – but fans are left puzzled by small detail in his post

  • Boston smashed the 76ers in semi-final series decider
  • Former teammate Simmons savaged them on Instagram
  • Fans were divided with some fixated on his weird TV placement

It might have been over a year since NBA star Ben Simmons was traded by Philadelphia but there are no signs of forgiving or forgetting from the Aussie star, who has trolled his former team for the second year running.

The former No.1 draft pick was shown the door by the 76ers because they didn’t believe he could lead them to a championship and wanted more firepower to assist Joel Embiid.

So Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets and the 76ers would land former Brooklyn star James Harden to form a roster they believed could reach the NBA Finals at the very least.

However, the Boston Celtics smashed Philadelphia in the deciding game of the Eastern Conference semifinal series at TD Garden on Sunday with forward Jayson Tatum dumping a game seven record 51 points on the hapless Sixers.

And didn’t Simmons love it.

Simmons' post on Instagram was divisive. Some thought it was savage trolling, others thought it was petty - and some could not get over the weird television placement

He posted an image of a television showing the blowout with a nice glass of red wine sitting perched on the coffee table.

Fans blew up at the the injured Aussie star’s post, calling it ‘cold’, ‘savage’ and ‘petty’.

Many felt it was payback for the way the 76ers treated their former star in the messy divorce.

‘Ben Simmons the greatest troll of time. Remember when Philadelphia blamed him? LMAO,’ one fan posted with a host of laughing emojis for good measure.

‘We should’ve kept Ben Simmons and traded Embiid,’ added another.

Bizarrely, some people side-stepped the trolling completely to complain about the off-centre placement of Simmons’ television.

‘I’m bothered by Ben Simmons TV placement on this wall,’ one fan posted.

‘This living room set up and the off center tv is as upsetting as every Ben Simmons jumper,’ added another.

It is also the second year in a row that Simmons has trolled his former teammates.

A fan shared an image from last year of Simmons looking smug in front of the television as the Sixers bowed out of the playoffs.

‘Never forget when Ben Simmons watched the [Miami] Heat eliminate the Sixers last year,’ they posted.

The repeated trolling doesn’t sit well with some NBA fans.

‘Ben Simmons is one bad season away from retirement. Not sure who tf he thinks he is,’ posted one fan.

‘Ben Simmons Instagram story just made me punch a hole in my wall I can’t take this,’ another quite angry fan posted.

‘Also how did Ben Simmons have the last laugh because he posted him watching the game on Instagram? Wtf y’all be talking about? Lol. He’s a bum that robbed two organizations out of a lot of money. He’s a cornball,’ another fumed from behind the comfort of an anonymous profile.

Another Aussie was pretty happy with the result as well.

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios is also a Boston supporter and shared a post showing that Tatum had become the first NBA player in history to record 51 points without a turnover in a playoffs game.

‘MVP,’ Kyrgios posted.
