A TikToker claims she ‘searched the whole of Paris’ and found the most affordable restaurant by the Eiffel Tower. 

Pro-traveller Rachel Rae said she only paid £25 for an evening of stunning views and good food. 

Posting to her TikTok account, @rachelrrae, she said TikTok had been ‘sleeping’ on the restaurant. 

Urging her 10,000 followers to visit, she said: ‘I’ve searched all of Paris for an affordable restaurant with the best views of the Eiffel Tower and this is it.

‘It’s called Francette and it’s literally right below the Eiffel Tower we only paid £25 for our entire meal per person.

The TikToker said the restaurant is on a boat and has three floors, she described the highest floor as ‘an open air concept’ which has views of the Eiffel Tower. 

She continued: ‘We ordered a set menu which is actually pretty good for the price but the views are just amazing.’

‘I feel like TikTok is sleeping on this one you can also stay here for ages.’

The restaurant is described on Trip advisor as an ‘Upscale eatery, set in a barge along the Seine, offering carpaccio, oysters and Eiffel Tower views.’ 

The restaurant offers decently priced food for the location, with cheese boards ranging from €17 to €25 and three oysters and a glass of wine for €12.

Customers can opt for a waterfront view with mains starting from €18. 

According to Rachel, the boat ‘barely’ moves and you can book a specific floor of the restaurant on their website.  

The now-viral video has been viewed nearly 430,000 times and thousands of viewers took to the comments leaving mixed reviews. 

Some were desperate to try the ideally-situated restaurant, one said: ‘The price and everything is fantastic. What a great find.’

Another user wrote: ‘Might need to try this I’m in France right now.’ 

To which Rachel replied: ‘No seriously it’s what I remember most it’s insane.’ 

Meanwhile, one person commented: ‘I hated the food here. It was not good at all, I really tried to like it. The views were great though.’

Two American tourists were found sleeping near the top of the Eiffel Tower yesterday after drunkenly getting trapped in, it was claimed.

Security guards are believed to have roused the men as they were making their rounds before the French landmark’s 9am opening time.

They ‘appear to have got stuck because of how drunk they were,’ Parisian prosecutors told AFP.

The Americans had spent the night in a spot normally closed to the public between the tower’s second and third levels, but ‘did not pose any apparent threat,’ said Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (Sete), which operates the site.

The incident could draw comparisons with the Hollywood blockbuster The Hangover, in which a group of US friends wake up from a bachelor party, with no memory of the previous night of Las Vegas debauchery.

After paying for an entry ticket around 10.40pm on Sunday, the pair hopped security barriers while climbing down the stairs from the tower’s top, a police source said.

Firefighters, including a specialist unit for recovering people from dangerous heights, were sent to recover the interlopers.

Both men were brought to the police station in Paris’ seventh district for questioning, while the site’s operator said it would file a criminal complaint.

The tower’s opening to the public was delayed for around an hour yesterday morning.

On Saturday two bomb threats forced the evacuation of the landmark, which is publicly owned. Police are now investigating what happened.

A further email with another bomb threat against the 330-metre (1,080 feet) steel tower was sent to three Paris police stations yesterday but officers advised against evacuating the site.

Terrifying footage shows residents of a burning apartment block in Kazakhstan throwing their children from windows to be caught by people below.

The fire devastated the 16 storey residential building in Almaty, the country’s largest city, after cables caught fire in a lift shaft between the fifth and sixth floors.

Some 300 people were evacuated from the burning building today, but some in higher floors were thrown out or jumped as the inferno enveloped the block.

Footage shows horrifying footage of young people falling from windows to be caught on mattresses and in sheets by those on the ground.

A young resident was also seen climbing from a top floor window onto a platform hoisted some 170ft above the ground from a crane.

It is unclear how many were thrown out or jumped of the building.

Reports said that emergency stairs could not be used as residents had blocked them.

As many as 31 people were taken to hospitals in the city, including 16 children. 

Initial reports said there were no fatalities.

Fire services later brought tall rescue ladders to reach the upper floors of the building, lowering 40 people safely to the ground.

Residents were filmed exiting windows and dangerously climbing down ladders, before mounting separate extended ladders – to reach the ground.

Video still showed smoke pouring from the building as residents tried to make their escape. 

The blaze was finally extinguished with 50 firefighters and three ladders.

Emergency services released a statement after the incident: ‘On August 1, at 17:10, the forces of the Department of Emergency were sent to the Alatau district. 

‘Upon arrival, six minutes later, an apartment on the fifth floor of a 16-storey residential building was found to be burning with an open flame.’

They said it took around an hour and a half to extinguish the fire. 

In May 2022, video caught the moment a 37-year-old hero rescued a three-year-old girl hanging from a window of a Kazakh tower block.

Sabit Shontakbaev, 37, was on his way to work with a friend when he saw a crowd below staring up at the three-year-old.

Her mother had gone shopping and left her home alone in Kazakhstan’s capital Nur-Sultan when she piled up her toys and cushions to climb out of the window.

Sabit, a father-of-four, immediately rushed upstairs in a bid save her before she fell to her death.

He ran inside the block and went up to the seventh floor, to the flat immediately below where the girl was precariously hanging on.

‘We knocked and fortunately they immediately opened the door,’ he said.

He climbed out of the window below the terrified girl who by then had been holding on for 15 minutes.
