Taylor Swift again kept a low profile while out and about in New York City on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old hitmaker looked cool but casual in an all-blue ensemble that put the spotlight on her long, toned legs.

She was seen making her way through the crowded city street before climbing into a black SUV waiting for her.

Taylor was seen heading to her recording studio in the Big Apple just a day earlier, even as her former fling, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, was seen showering his new girlfriend with copious hugs and kisses.

Taylor emphasized her slim figure during her outing with a navy blue polo shirt with a crimson embroidered logo over the chest and white trip on the collar.

She complemented it with a pair of dark denim shorts showcasing her towering 5ft11in stature.

The All Too Much singer contrasted the dark items with a pair of pale yellow athletic shoes, and she looked as if she had stepped out of a primary colors–bathed 1960s-era Jean-Luc Godard film by adding a slim red handbag to her look.

Taylor’s luscious blond hair was styled down in thick waves cascading over her shoulders, and she sported stylish bangs that nearly covered up her round-frame black sunglasses.

Her face was impeccably made up as usual, with a splash of crimson over her plump pout.

She didn’t look particularly concerned after her rocker Matty had been seen showing off plenty of PDA with the tattooed model Gabbriette Bechtel while they were also out in New York City on Tuesday — just blocks away from the recording studio she went to.

Taylor and Matty head been friends and mutual admirers going back to 2014, and he indicated their working relationship had further developed in late 2022 when he revealed that he had done work on a Midnights track that ultimately went unreleased.

But the two appeared to develop a romantic collaboration later in 2023 — following her split from boyfriend Joe Alwyn — when Matty was seen attending several of her concerts for her successful Eras Tour.

In May, the two were spotted holding hands, but buzz about their apparent romance turned sour after her fans revisited seemingly offensive remarks he had made in the past.

The apparently casual romance fizzled out by June when they were said to have broken up.

Jut days before Taylor was spotted in New York, another apparent friend — Olivia Rodrigo — gave a half-hearted denial after fans thought her song Vampire referenced her rumored feud with Taylor.

When she was asked about the rumors by The Guardian, the singer initially responded, ‘How do I answer this?’ and continued, ‘I mean, I never want to say who any of my songs are about.’ 

She added, ‘I’ve never done that before in my career and probably won’t. I think it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing. I was very surprised when people thought that.’

However, the answer notably lacked any explicit denial that Taylor was the subject of Vampire.

Fans of the two singers have speculated that they may have had a falling out after Olivia was forced to credit Taylor as a songwriter on Deja Vu and to therefore give her royalties after appearing to lift a melody from her song Cruel Summer.

Rodrigo previously credited Swift on another song on her debut album for interpolating one of her melodies, and she did the same with Paramore on a third song, though it’s unclear if she always intended to credit the other artists or was forced to after the fact to avoid legal issues.

After selling out stadiums across the US — with plans for major international tour stops upcoming — Taylor will soon be selling out cinemas as well.

The singer announced recently that she will be putting out a concert film shot on her ongoing tour, and now several exhibition sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that they believe her film could be a major hit at a time when cinemas and multiplexes are desperate to get people to return.

According to the sources, her film could gross over $100 million from its US and Canada screenings, which will begin on October 13 and last for several weeks at least. 

They wouldn’t even rule out the Shake It Off singer grossing over $150 million in North America, based on the outstanding interest and impressive presales. 

Theater owners are likely breathing a sigh of relief as prolonged intransigence from the AMPTP, which represents major studios and streamers, has delayed new contract negotiations with both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA unions, which represent writers and actors, respectively.

The unions are fighting for better compensation, as well as to prevent studios from replacing writers or actors with AI and to force them to reveal their streaming numbers in order to craft a more equitable system for awarding residuals.

The Taylor Swift doc is being distributed by the AMC theater chain, even though it will presumably be available at all theaters, marking a major feather in the cap of the chain, which has struggled in recent years.

Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey and Cara Delevingne led the jaw-dropping parade of celebrity guests who flooded into Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s wedding over the weekend.

Jack, a music producer, and Margaret, an actress, are slated to tie the knot on Saturday at the picturesque seaside resort town of Beach Haven, New Jersey.

A dazzling array of famous faces lent their high-octane glamour to the proceedings, including Taylor and Lana, who both have a longstanding professional connection to the groom.

Enjoying a brief respite from her barnstorming world tour, Taylor, 33, cut a classically elegant figure in a baby blue lace frock with an intricately designed floral motif.

The ensemble featured a corset top that lent it a dash of showbiz flair and emphasized the pop star’s athletic frame, no doubt honed by a chockablock concert schedule.

Her outfit featured a tier of frills that twirled its way down the skirt, which fluttered slightly in the breeze a she headed out into the sunshine.

She wore her silky curtains of caramel blonde hair down, sporting a charming bit of fringe, and plumped for classic makeup including bright red lipstick.

Balancing on a towering pair of silver slingback heels, the We Are Never Getting Back Together singer kept her jewelry subtle, in the form of a simple necklace and unobtrusive earrings. 

Taylor arrived at her friends’ nuptials amid a thicket of security, including one member of her detail who was spotted wearing a bulletproof vest. 

As the festivities got going, Taylor was seen surrounded by somewhat glitzier company – Big Little Lies actress Zoe Kravitz and Magic Mike heartthrob Channing Tatum.

Channing and Taylor were glimpsed with drinks in hand as they spilled out into the sunshine, flanking Zoe, who like the bride hails from a showbiz family.

Zoe, the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and The Cosby Show starlet Lisa Bonet, exuded a festive air as she surfaced in an off-the-shoulder sundress and swank sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Channing, who was spotted the previous day heading to a Beach Haven bar with Taylor and Zoe, looked snappy as ever in an olive green jacket over basic black.

Channing, Zoe and Taylor could be spotted chattering away as they stepped off the sidewalk – with police and other staff on hand, standing just a few feet away from them.

Zoe, with a martini glass in one hand and the other tucked into the crook of Taylor’s arm, was the image of celebratory cheer as she strutted her stuff on her kitten heels.

Lana, whose work with Jack includes this year’s acclaimed single A&W, swung by the festivities in a summery pink and white lace party dress, complemented with a sky blue bag and pink platform sandals.

Cara Delevingne, who has developed a reputation for goofy oddball antics, was characteristically animated when she was seen mingling with the guests outside the ceremony.

Wearing her mousy hair in a 1920s bob, the Carnival Row star slid her supermodel frame into a plunging jet-black jumpsuit that matched her cat-eye shades. 

Andie MacDowell, the mother of the bride, radiated bonhomie when she was spotted at her daughter’s wedding, letting her luxurious silver mane fly in the seaside breeze. 

The Groundhog Day star brought back the 1980s in a Miami chic full-sleeved gown that featured a striking green palm print over an electric blue field.

Slinging on a gleaming silver handbag with snakeskin-style embossment, Andie – who shares Margaret with her ex-husband, former model Paul Qualley – rounded off the look with flats. 

Actor Alex Wolff, whose brother Nat Wolff was linked to Margaret years ago, could also be spotted among the guests pouring out of the wedding reception.

Naturally, the celebration kept going well after dark, when the bride and groom were seen joyously holding hands with one another as they dashed laughing out of the afterparty.

Margaret had changed outfits yet again, this time slipping into a bride-appropriate white party dress with tulle half sleeves and a shimmery pair of ballet flats.

Jack, still decked out in black suit and black tie, enthusiastically led his new wife by the hand as she flashed her megawatt smile at her loved ones, waving at one of the guests while she followed him.

Their celebrity guests were also still in attendance – in full force – as the nuptial afterparty on Long Beach Island stretched into the nighttime hours.

Several of the guests had brought their drinks outside into the fresh air, where Zoe could be glimpsed outside enjoying a giggle with Cara and Taylor.

A gaggle of onlookers had duly formed, but they were successfully held at bay some distance from the wedding attendees, who mingled under the glare of cellphone lights.

The fact that they were being watched, however, did not appear to put a damper on the proceedings, as the guests were seen laughing cheerfully with one another.

Jack and Margaret were first linked in August 2021, and were engaged less than a year later in May 2022, setting the stage for their star-studded wedding Saturday at Parker’s Garage & Oyster Saloon in Beach Haven.

The wedding has proven to be a frenzy ever since guests started arriving, with Taylor fleeing the rehearsal dinner venue Friday night after hundreds of Swifties swarmed into the street outside.

So many fans flocked to Black Whale Bar & Fish House, just to catch a glimpse of their idol, that the street was shut down and the police arrived to prevent the tumult from spiraling out of control. 

On Saturday Margaret, who was a scene-stealing presence as a member of the Manson Family in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, opted for simple elegance with her bias-cut bridal gown.

Jack, whose dating history includes Girls impresaria Lena Dunham, also went for a classically stylish look, going down the aisle in a black tuxedo and matching tie. 

 Taylor Swift fled a restaurant in Long Beach Island, New Jersey after being the cause of a major road being shut down as her presence at pal Jack Antonoff’s star-studded wedding rehearsal dinner caused quite a commotion.

Hundreds of the 33-year-old hitmaker’s diehard fans – known as Swifties – made their way to the Black Whale corner bar just for a chance to get a glimpse of the music icon.

Taylor – who was seen out with pal Ed Sheeran the previous day – is in town to celebrate her 39-year-old music collaborator’s nuptials with 28-year-old actress Margaret Qualley. 

The megastar arrived at the star-packed event with Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz to an uproarious ovation from her passionate fans. 

 Taylor, Zoe, and Channing were not the only stars at the gathering as Lana Del Rey, who has also often collaborated with Antonoff, was also there in addition to mother-of-the-bride Andie MacDowell

 Police ended up having to arrive outside of the popular Long Beach Island spot to ensure that the massive crowd was behaving themselves.

Taylor looked absolutely stunning upon her arrival at the Black Whale as she stunned in a two-piece strapless dress.

Her signature dirty blonde locks were worn down into an elegant updo with her fringe hanging to just above her eye.

There were several video’s of Taylor’s presence at the neighborhood bar all over social media including a TikTok of her arrival with the 34-year-old actress and 43-year-old actor from inside of the restaurant. 

The scene grew even more chaotic as hundreds of fans could be heard chanting ‘Taylor! Taylor!’ as the wedding rehearsal was in full swing.

Other video footage showed the massive crowds who had lined the street in hopes that they would be able to catch a glimpse of the Bad Blood hitmaker.

Finally after the wedding rehearsal dinner had commenced, Taylor quickly walked down the steps with her thespian pals and made her swift exit alongside a security detail. 

 Earlier in the day news of the pop megastar’s arrival had spread around the neighborhood amongst locals who made their way to the Black Whale in droves leading to law enforcement having to direct traffic according to Page Six.

At around 8:45pm the eatery ended up shutting the balcony curtains which was a move met with boos by the Swifties in attendance. 

The publication reports that the rehearsal dinner had wrapped around 9pm as Swift and Del Rey left promptly.

Black Whale is definitely a change of pace for the megastar who is used to life in the lap of luxury as it is a modest bar and fish house which was established in 2005.

Before this the eatery’s claim to fame was as the neighborhood bar for the township of Beach Haven on Long Beach Island.

Back in May 2022, Qualley confirmed that she was engaged to Antonoff as she took to Instagram to share a snap flashing her diamond engagement ring. 

The beauty was hugging and kissing her musician beau in the cozy images. ‘Oh I love him!’ wrote the daughter of Andie MacDowell in her caption.

Rumours swirled on that she was set to marry Antonoff after wearing the ring at the Cannes Film Festival  just weeks before that.

  

The actress has been attached to Jack since the summer of 2021. 

They confirmed they were dating in August 2021, when they were spotted kissing and embracing while strolling around New York City. 

As for Swift’s relationship with Antonoff, he has played a major role in her very successful career.

He started working with the singer on her 1989 album, which she won a GRAMMY award for, and is credited as a writer and producer on every Taylor album since.

The two became close after meeting at the MTV European Music Awards in 2012 and has since been hailed by Swift as her ‘friend for life’.

Jack made a cameo in her star-studded Bejeweled music video and joined the star in performing songs from her Folklore album for the Disney+ special film Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. 

The musician is the lead singer of rock band Bleachers and was the guitarist and drummer in the pop rock band Fun. He was also the lead singer of the indie rock band Steel Train.

In May last year he credited Taylor for launching his career as a producer, telling The New Yorker: ‘I’d been trying to produce for a while, but there was always some industry herb going, ‘That’s cute, but that’s not your lane.’

‘Taylor was the first person with the stature to go, ‘I like the way this sounds, I’m putting it on my album’ – and then, suddenly, I was allowed to be a producer.’

Taylor Swift has reacted joyously to news the House of Representatives voted to pass the Equality Act as she ‘crossed her fingers’ the Senate will vote the bill into law.

LGBT+ Americans moved a step closer to winning legal protection from discrimination on Thursday when the U.S. House passed the key civil rights bill backed by President Joe Biden.

By a vote of 224 to 206, the House passed the landmark Equality Act, which amends the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes in addition to race, religion, sex and national origin.

Taylor, 31, tweeted: ‘YES!!! Fingers crossed and praying that the Senate will see trans and lgbtq rights as basic human rights.

She shared a post from GLAAD which wrote: ‘BREAKING: The House has voted 224-206 to pass the #EqualityAct, which would protect LGBTQ people in areas including in housing, education, public accommodations and access to credit.’

The vote closely followed party lines, with only three Republican lawmakers supporting the bill.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people often encounter prejudice in housing, credit, jury service and public spaces, as only 22 states and the District of Columbia prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

State legislatures regularly advance laws that limit local LGBT+ protections. Since the start of the year, a dozen states have introduced or passed laws to bar trans girls from participating in girls’ sports leagues.

One of the first things Biden did after taking office was sign Executive Order 13988 which demands that measures be taken to ‘prevent and combat discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.’

Piers Morgan explained on Thursday: ‘This sounds perfectly reasonable until you get into the weeds of the order and discover that among various recommendations, it seeks to allow transgender athletes to compete according to their gender identity, as opposed to their biological sex.

‘Specifically, it says that transgender women who have gone through male puberty should be able to compete in women’s sports. This, I’m afraid, is utter madness.

‘The majority of trans women born to male biological bodies who’ve gone through puberty are self-evidently going to be bigger, stronger, faster and more powerful than women born to female biological bodies.

‘Again, this is not me being ‘transphobic’, it’s me stating an obvious fact.

‘That’s why we have gender-specific competition in almost every sport and events like the Olympics.’ 

For the Equality Act to become law, it must win 60 votes in the U.S. Senate, where there is a 50-50 split between Democrats and Republicans.

Several Republicans have expressed their opposition, including Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, a former presidential candidate, who said he would oppose the bill unless it added a provision giving ‘strong religious liberty protections’.

Taylor first lent her massive platform to efforts promoting the passing of the Equality Act in May 2019.

At the time, Swift published a lengthy letter to her Instagram page voicing her support for the bills, referred to as H.R. 5 and S. 788, after learning that the House had, once again, voted to pass the Equality Act.

‘HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!! While we have so much to celebrate, we also have a great distance to go before everyone in this country is truly treated equally. 

‘In excellent recent news, the House has passed the Equality Act, which would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in their places of work, homes, schools, and other public accommodations,’ began the Grammy Award-winner in her well-intentioned post. 

For the obvious next step, which would require the bill to go before the senate, Swift informed her followers that she penned a letter to one of her local senators to ‘explain how strongly I feel that the Equality Act should be passed.’

She encouraged her fans to follow in her footsteps by writing letters to their specific senators, while also utilizing the hashtag #lettertomysenator so she could see them for herself.

After explaining the importance of ‘pushing politicians towards positive change,’ Swift announced that she launched ‘a petition at change.org to urge the Senate to support the Equality Act.’ 

Since its launch, the Swift-led petition has garnered nearly 830,000 virtual signatures, with an initial goal of 1,000,000.

Taylor continued: ‘Our country’s lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic.

‘The fact that, legally, some people are completely at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable’ lamented the star, before, once again, asking her fans to sign her petition so that ‘our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally.’

In June of 2019, Swift famously dropped the music video for her anthemic hit You Need To Calm Down, which featured countless prominent members of the LGBTQ+ community, including her good pal Todrick Hall. 

The song, which was the second single off Swift’s seventh studio album Lover, includes several references to Swift’s abhorrence towards LGBTQ+ discrimination.

To conclude the music video, a bright pink title card, featuring Swift’s Equality Act petition, appeared on screen.

‘Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally,’ read the title card. 

You Need To Calm Down, which currently has nearly 240million views on YouTube, went on to win Video Of The Year at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

Once again using her massive platform to advocate for equality, Taylor used her stage time – as well as her performance of the track – to inform audiences at home of the importance of the Equality Act.

‘I first want to say thank you to the fans, because in this video several points were made, so you voting for this video means that you want a world where we’re all treated equally under the law regardless of who we love, regardless of how we identify,’ began the Evermore singer as she carried her Moonperson gong in hand.

‘At the end of this video there was a petition, and there still is a petition, for the equality act which, basically, just says we all deserve equal rights under the law.

‘I want to thank everyone who signed that petition, because it now has half a million signatures which is five times the amount that it would need to warrant a response from the White House,’ she explained, before going on to thank those who participated in the music video.

LGBT+ advocates say they are confident the bill will become law because of its popularity among the American public.

An estimated 83% of Americans favour laws that would protect LGBT+ people against discrimination in jobs, public accommodation and housing, including 68% of Republicans, according to a poll by the Public Religion Research Institute.

‘In a period of such polarization, where else do you have over 80% of support for a piece of legislation?’ said Janson Wu, executive director of GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD). 

‘This should be a “no brainer” for any legislator regardless of their party.’

The House first passed the Equality Act in 2019, but it stalled in the Republican-controlled Senate during the Trump administration, which opposed the bill. The Democrats won control of the Senate in November’s elections.

Biden is a vocal supporter of LGBT+ rights, in a clear departure from the Trump administration, which barred trans people from joining the military and issued orders emphasizing the importance of ‘biological sex’ rather than gender identity.

Since taking office in January, Biden signed an executive order that federal agencies must not discriminate against LGBT+ people and issued a memorandum aimed at protecting LGBT+ rights worldwide, including potentially through the use of sanctions.

‘Every person should be treated with dignity and respect,” Biden said in a statement when the Equality Act was introduced to the House last week.

‘This bill represents a critical step toward ensuring that America lives up to our foundational values of equality and freedom for all.’

LGBT+ advocates praised Biden’s use of the executive office but reiterated the need for comprehensive legislation.
