A video of Tesla shooting a promotional clip of its Cybertruck cruising through the snowy landscape of Iceland has been leaked online.

The EV was spotted driving behind another vehicle with a camera crew in the trunk, suggesting the Elon Musk-founded company is gearing up for the highly-anticipated launch –  about 1.5 million people have reserved one.

Early customers paid $100 to secure their model that has been delayed for more than three years.

But the video and Musk announcing the first unit rolling off the assembly line in July suggests the Cybertruck rollout is set to happen sooner than later.

A video of Tesla shooting a promotional clip of its Cybertruck cruising through the snowy landscape of Iceland has been leaked online

The footage comes one day after an internal email from Tesla surfaced that threatened to fire any employees caught taking pictures of the Cybertruck.

The communication is likely due to many leaks from staff working closely with the vehicle plagued by delays.

The email to employees reads: ‘Effective today, any employees or contractors found taking photos or videos on-site of anything related to the Cybertruck (e.g. vehicle, parts, production line, etc.) without an official business need/justification (i.e. dictated by job/scope and validated by Security during initial contact) will be immediately escorted off-site pending HR investigation and follow up contact.

‘The CT team will issue photo passes/stickers to appropriate personnel in the future to help expedite interactions with Security for business-related photography/videography.’

It is unclear who leaked the promotional video, but the footage suggests that the Cybertruck will likely handle it well in winter conditions.

But the shot points to Tesla ramping up marketing for the vehicle that is more than one-year delayed from its initial launch date.

The Cybertruck – starting at $39,000 –  became a sensation when revealed to the world in November 2019.

The celebrated event quickly became a nightmare for Musk after the glass on his new electric ‘Cybertruck’ was smashed just after he boasted about it being ‘shatterproof.’

During the announcement of the truck – which looks like an armored vehicle with angular sides – Tesla design chief Franz von Holshausen tried to prove the glass was ‘shatterproof’ by throwing a heavy metal ball at close range.

Musk was heard muttering ‘oh my f***ing God’ when the glass smashed.

Some speculated the hiccup may have been part of the show, but it did not stop people from reserving one for themselves.

The waitlist with no reservation is at least three years from when the first Cybertruck is delivered.

Musk had promised production would begin in early 2021, but that date slipped away. And each year, a new date is set and missed.

The CEO has previously blamed battery supply issues for the delay, saying that each Cybertruck would ‘literally cost a million dollars a piece or more’ if Tesla had started producing the futuristic vehicle in 2021.

However, in July, Musk finally made the first vehicle at the Giga Texas manufacturing facility in Austin.

A photo showed over 100 staff in hard hats and high-vis vests surrounding the vehicle at the 10 million square foot facility.

Two months before, the world received its first look of the interior, which caused a rift among fans.

One Twitter user said the ‘Cybertruck’s interior looks like it came from a 1980’s low budget sci-fi prop piece,’ while others called the dark gray cabin flat out ‘ugly.’

However, some users think the interior looks ‘simple and clean’ and ‘love the overall look.’

The images, shared on a Cybertruck enthusiast forum, have not been confirmed, but they show a massive interior screen, futuristic-looking seat controllers and a bare cabin.

The photos show a view from the driver and passenger seats and a side shot inside the Cybertruck, which Cybertruck Owners Club shared.

A massive display hangs in the center of the dash, but wires can be seen hanging from the back.

Twitter user Facts Chaser tweeted: ‘Nearly four years after its unveiling, why is the screen activated via this DIY wire assembly?’

The user also highlighted a feature to the diver’s left – a small window shaped like a diamond.

‘That A-pillar monstrosity looks like it would severely obstruct visibility,’ he tweeted.

The center console has a paneled design as the cover that slides open and closed, which looks like what was in the early Model S and X vehicles.

However, fans are more disappointed about the lack of a third middle seat in the front of the Cybertruck, which had been rumored since the vehicle’s debut in 2019.

What the seats do have are controllers fashioned in the same finish as the exterior and crafted in unique designs that some fans were overjoyed to see.

America’s mass shooting hotspots revealed: First of its kind study breaks down thousands of massacres by state – and there’s NO correlation between gun control laws

America’s mass shooting hotspots have been revealed in a first-of-its-kind map — and they aren’t necessarily where most people own guns.

Researchers at the University of Colorado looked at 4,011 mass shootings — defined as four or more gun deaths, not including the shooter — between 2014 and 2022.

They broke down the massacres in each state by population size to calculate a rate — to allow for a more fair comparison.

Even though it is a city not a state, Washington D.C. was revealed to have the highest rate of mass shootings per capita – 10.4 shootings for every 100,000 people – even though it has some of the strongest gun violence prevention legislation in the nation.

Louisiana had the highest rate of mass shootings per capita of any state, the study found at around 4.3 shootings for every 100,000 people.

The above map shows the rate of mass shootings per million people by state between the years 2014 and 2022

Top ten states for mass shootings (2014 to 2022)

  1. Washington D.C.: 10.43 mass shootings per million people;
  2. Louisiana: 4.28 per million
  3. Illinois: 3.61 per million
  4. Mississippi: 2.91 per million
  5. Alabama: 2.32 per million
  6. Missouri: 2.29 per million
  7. South Carolina: 2.26 per million
  8. Delaware: 2.18 per million
  9. Tennessee: 2.03 per million
  10. Maryland: 2.2 per million

Bottom ten states for mass shootings (2014 to 2022)

  1. Hawaii: 0 mass shootings per million people
  2. North Dakota: 0 per million
  3. New Hampshire: 0.08 per million
  4. Idaho: 0.13 per million
  5. Vermont: 0.18 per million
  6. Wyoming: 0.19 per million
  7. Utah: 0.21 per million
  8. Maine: 0.25 per million
  9. West Virginia: 0.31 per million
  10. Montana: 0.42 per million

At the other end of the scale were Hawaii and North Dakota — which both recorded no mass shootings over the period studied.

Of all mass shootings, some 27 percent were linked to social settings, such as a bar, club or house party.

A further 16 percent were linked to crime, 11 percent to domestic violence and one percent to schools or workplaces. Fifty-two percent did not fit into one of these categories.

For the study, published today in JAMA Network Open, researchers extracted data from the Gun Violence Archive — a database of mass shooting incidents across the US run by a nonprofit group.

The researchers did not say why Washington D.C. — the nation’s capital — was top of the list.

The district has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation — with open carrying banned and thorough background checks necessary before purchasing a weapon.

It also has a lower gun ownership rate than other states, with estimates suggesting 36 percent of residents have a gun — compared to the national average of 39 percent.

In second place was Louisiana, which has lax gun control laws and a high ownership rate of 52 percent.

Illinois, which has tight gun control laws and low gun ownership, came IN third on the list. [EXPAND ON CONTROL LAWS, SIMILAR TO DC]

The state also does not PERMIT open carry and has one of the lowest ownership rates in the country at 22 percent.

Rounding out the top five STATES WITH THE HIGHEST MASS SHOOTINGS were Mississippi (2.91 mass shootings per million people) and Alabama (2.32 per million).

The remaining states with the lowest rates of mass shootings were New Hampshire, Vermont and Wyoming — which all recorded only one incident over the study period.

Mass shootings linked to crime

Mass shootings linked to all other events

The above map shows the rate of mass shootings per million people linked to crime (left) and all other events (right). It is for the years 2014 to 2022

Broken down by the number of mass shootings, Illinois was top of the list at 414 followed by California at 367, and Texas at 270.

PhD student Leslie Barnard who was behind the study said: ‘We wanted to help explain the ‘why, where and how often’ to give people an understanding of this issue.

‘This study is not intended to answer every question, but highlights components to generate more hypotheses.’

She added: ‘The definition of ‘mass shooting’ is different depending on the source. While we consider mass shootings as four or more persons shot or killed, some data sources only count deaths.

‘This discrepancy is especially difficult for epidemiologists, because we need to have a cohesive definition for what we’re reporting on.’

Data on gun ownership by state came from estimates by the Pew Research Center based in Washington D.C.

An Idaho man appeared in court Tuesday accused of shooting dead his four neighbors after he became enraged at the teenage son of the family performing a sex act within sight of a window.

Majorjon Kaylor, 31, who has ‘savage’ tattooed above his eyebrow, reportedly told police he ‘lost it’, and acted to protect his three young children.

On Sunday evening he became involved in an argument with the teenager’s mother, Kenna Guardipee, 41.

She lived in the Kellogg, Idaho, home with her sons Devin Smith, 18, and 16-year-old Aiken, plus her father Kenneth Guardipee, 65.

Five days before the shooting, police were called to the Guardipee’s home after Kaylor reported Devin Smith had exposed himself to his wife, Kaylie, and daughter.

A family friend of Smith, Katy James, told The Spokesman-Review that Devin Smith had a learning disability and struggled socially, but had been getting help through a program at school.

A classmate, Daisy Sawyer, told the paper he had harassed her at school and was known to be inappropriate.

Kaylor came home from working in a mine Sunday evening and confronted Kenna Guardipee, angry that her son was unlikely to face further punishment for his acts.

Kaylor then shot the mother in the head, as well as her father and two sons.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at a duplex at 515 W. Brown Ave around 7:20 pm on Sunday.

Shortly after the first call, a second call came in reporting that someone had ‘executed his neighbors,’ according to court documents.

Investigators found a .45 caliber Hi-Point semi-automatic pistol with what appeared to be blood on it in a truck parked in the duplex’s driveway, according to court documents obtained by The Spokesman-Review.

Kaylor told police that he ‘snapped’ and ‘lost it’ over the dispute, saying he had spoken to Kenna Guardipee and her father, but was upset that they did not appear to take his concerns seriously.

His wife told investigators he ‘said he did what he had to do, and to tell their kids he protected them.’

She added that she overheard him saying he had killed four people.

A GoFundMe has been started for Kaylie and the three children by Kaylor’s brother Buddy.

‘I am trying to raise money for my sister-in-law and 3 small children for rent groceries and the necessities to live after a tragic event,’ wrote Buddy Kaylor.

‘After enduring continuous unthinkable sexual harassment by a neighbor the current situation has left my brother in jail and the three kids and mom without a provider, thank you for your donations anything helps.’

Kaylor could face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted.

He also faces a separate felony burglary charge, and police said he had a ‘sparse and sporadic’ criminal history for drug abuse, battery and traffic offenses, according to KXLY4 News.

On Tuesday, Kaylor appeared in court in Wallace, Idaho – 50 miles east of Coeur d’Alene – in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs.

Prosecutor Benjamin Allen said Kaylor confessed to the shooting when interviewed by police.

‘Admissions were ultimately made to the offenses charged,’ Allen said.

Allen said the killings were done in a ‘horrific manner.’

Magistrate Judge Keisha Oxendine did not set bond and Kaylor will continue to be held in jail. Another hearing has been set for July 3.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise says he’s ‘lucky to be alive’ after miraculously surviving a targeted shooting six years ago at the GOP‘s baseball practice and is grateful to the ‘heroes’ and ‘good fortune’ that saved his life.

‘God was on a ball field that day,’ Scalise told DailyMail.com during an exclusive interview on the sidelines of the GOP’s baseball practice Tuesday morning.

On June 14, 2017, James Hodgkinson started shooting at Republican lawmakers at an early morning practice in Alexandria, Virginia. They were holding their daily team training to take on the Democrats at the annual Congressional Baseball Game.

Scalise was critically shot in the hip by the attacker and entered into a coma. He had multiple surgeries and had to completely re-learn how to walk.

‘There are a lot of miracles that happened,’ Scalise reflected, saying the shooter was trying to kill every Republican on the field and had the ‘element of surprise’ advantage.

Nobody expected that at the end of the day, all the lawmakers would be alive except the shooter who was killed by law enforcement, he continued.

‘A lot of miracles happened that day, and a lot of heroes that were on the field,’ Scalise said including Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner and Rep. Brad Wenstrup.

He credited Wenstrup, R-Ohio, for using his skills as a combat surgeon to save his life.

‘He kept me I kept me alive to make it to the hospital. So just a lot of a lot of good fortune that we have.’

Scalise said the Capitol Police officers who stepped in to save his life are still ‘on my team.’

‘They’re good as gold,’ he said, pointing out that Crystal still works for Capitol Police and they all stay in touch based on their very real and special bond.

He told DailyMail.com that he is still on the road to a full recovery six years later after having nine surgeries and learning how to walk again.

‘I still do physical therapy once a week and you know, working on strength and balance.’

‘I have a couple procedures left to to keep getting better, but I’m lucky to be alive,’ the majority leader stated.

As for whether he uses skills he learned during his eight years serving as the GOP whip into his No. 2 Republican leadership position, Scalise said it has helped him keep a strong pulse on ‘where the membership is’ when he is scheduling floor votes.

‘You want to bring bills to the floor that promote the conservative agenda that we believe in, but you also want to make sure the bills can pass so you want a good pulse for where the membership is,’ he told DailyMail.com.

He works closely with committee chairs and touted the recent passage of H.R. 2 – a comprehensive border security bill – as a major success to get the country ‘back on track.’

‘It’s a fun job to work on the policy, understanding where the membership is,’ continued Scalise – despite some recent internal GOP drama.

A group of 11 Republican rebels have held up the House leadership’s priorities hostage since last Wednesday as retribution for the debt ceiling deal.

Scalise said he’s ‘always having conversations’ with members, including the rebels, and talks continued over last weekend.

He said some lawmakers are frustrated ‘in general’ about what’s going on, but he’s focused on getting the conference back on track so members can ‘move our agenda’ forward.

The annual Congressional Baseball Game will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at Nationals Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Lawmakers say it’s a fun display of some bipartisan fun, which is rare in Congress.

Coach Roger Williams, R-Texas, told DailyMail.com that the team has picked up ‘some pretty good players’ and they are ready to play.

He said the game has raised nearly $2.5 million for charity which ‘shows the greatness of our country and the greatness of baseball’ moving forward from the tragic 2017 shooting, where he was injured during the attack.

The Republicans touted their 10-0 win over the Democrats last year, a big accomplishment for star pitcher Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla.

Steube told DailyMail.com that there is a ‘unity’ among the lawmakers as they reflect on the shooting six years later.

‘If it wasn’t for Scalise’s police escort, most of those guys probably would have died before law enforcement could have got there.’

‘Obviously it still physically affects the leader, but he’s out here and probably the first guy batting, and he’ll probably play the first inning at second base.’

Five months ago, the Florida congressman suffered serious injuries – including a punctured lung, broken pelvis and concussion – after falling off a 25-foot ladder.

But he says he is fully healed and ready to take on the Democrats.

‘I’m blessed to be healed and I’ll be ready to go tomorrow,’ he told DailyMail.com.

Rep. Greg Murphy, R-N.C., said the GOP team has come out at about 5am ET every morning to practice for months.

‘I’m a Republican and I hope we win by a very large margin. It’s the best I’ve played in years and I’m really looking forward to it,’ he added.

‘Last year was a great game. This team is playing really well. I mean, maybe better than last year, but you got to do it on the field. We’re gonna be ready to play,’ said Scalise who will be playing second base.

Kevin Monahan, the ‘hot-tempered’ New York homeowner accused of killing 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis when the car she was in accidentally turned onto his driveway, initially blamed the shooting on hunters.

This comes as Monahan, 65, was arraigned on charges of second-degree murder, as well as two new charges of reckless endangerment and evidence tampering on Wednesday.

Authorities said Gillis was traveling in her boyfriend’s SUV with two other friends through the town of Hebron just before 10pm on April 15 when the group made a wrong turn onto Monahan’s property.

They were trying to turn the car around when Monahan came out onto his porch and fired two shots from a 12-gauge shotgun, according to Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, who claimed Monahan showed no remorse.

According to records filed in Washington County Court, when police confronted Monahan afterwards, he said he’d been in bed since 8:30 p.m. and added that ‘there are hunters shooting up here all the time.’

Police were trying to get Monahan out of the house to speak to him, to which he responded by saying ‘leave me alone’ and ‘get out of my yard so I can go back to bed,’ according to the Albany Times Union.

The court papers reveal that when police went to his home ‘the defendant was advised that officers need to speak to him and he was asked to walk off his porch toward the driveway. The defendant refused and quickly went back into his residence.’ Monahan shares the home with his wife.

He was told by officers that they needed to speak with him but ‘quickly went back into his residence.’

Monahan added: ‘I wasn’t going to walk down there in the dark, I mean you guys are cops, but you know, who knows these days.’

According to court documents, at least eight officers had body cameras on during Monahan’s encounter.

Kurt Mausert, the attorney for Monahan, called the idea that he wasn’t cooperative ‘complete hooey.’

‘He exercised his right to call counsel. The police knew if he stepped off his porch that they could arrest him without a warrant.’ He was arrested the next day, April 16.

Monahan pleaded not guilty to all charges Wednesday, according to CNN.

His next scheduled court date is July 28 with the trial set to begin in earnest on September 7, a date Mauser said would be impossible for him to adequately prepare for in time.

Monahan was also denied bail for a third time and second time in the past month.

District Attorney Tony Jordan said the evidence is ‘stronger than it was on the day of the [original] decision to remand him without bail.’

Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy noted in an interview with CNN that Monahan had already arranged legal representation before he emerged from his house and handed himself over to cops.

The newly unveiled records show that Monahan indeed called Mausert while police were trying to get him to come out, telling the lawyer he ‘had no idea’ what was happening.

Mausert contacted authorities to figure out what was going on and upon finding out someone had been killed, received guarantees they wouldn’t search his client’s home without a warrant.

After getting those reassurances, Mausert advised and arranged for Monahan to surrender.

Speaking in an interview with NBC News Gillis’ boyfriend, Blake Walsh, 19, revealed he was the one driving on the fateful night.

‘We thought we were at the right address. We didn’t have any cell service to figure it out. As soon as we figured it out that we were at the wrong location, we started to leave, and that’s when everything happened,’ Walsh said.

He said one of his friends in the car alerted him to Monahan shooting, prompting him to suddenly turn the car around and drive away.

‘I tried to step on the gas as fast as possible, and that’s when the fatal shot came through.’

After driving for around five miles, the group finally made it to an area where they had cell service. They immediately called 911, but sadly it was too late.

‘I want to believe it was instant. I’m hoping it was. I’m praying it was,’ Walsh said through tears.

He added the drive to get cell service felt like it lasted just 30 seconds, ‘the adrenaline was rushing so bad.’

In an interview with CNN, Mausert previously said his client told him that multiple vehicles had descended onto his driveway that night, including a motorcycle, revving their engines and behaving in a menacing way.

He also told News10 the incident was a ‘series of tragic mistakes, made by more than one person.

‘The situation where we have an elderly gentleman and his elderly wife living out in the dark woods in Washington County with three vehicles that come roaring into his driveway at a high rated speed, shined their lights at his house and not leaving when he turns on the floodlights so certainly there was cause for an element of fear on Mr. Monahan’s part,’ Mausert added.

Alcohol, drugs or mental illness are not thought to have played a role in the shooting, reported the Times-Herald.

The newspaper stated there had not been any reports of increased robberies or any reason for homeowners to be extra vigilant recently.

But Town Supervisor Brian Campbell told the Times-Herald that Monahan previously attended local board meetings to discuss issues such as road repairs. Campbell described the suspect as being ‘very reasonable.’

Following Monahan’s initial bail hearing on April 19, Andrew Gillis — Kaylin’s father — said he hopes the accused gunman ‘dies in jail.’

He thanked Judge Michelini for his decision to deny Monahan bail, saying: ‘Kaylin deserves justice.

‘I want to talk about Kaylin’s boyfriend,’ Gillis continued. ‘He wanted to marry my daughter. I would have loved that.’

Walsh met Kaylin when he was a sophomore at Schuylerville High School, where she graduated from in 2021.

He said the pair would often joke about being the ‘2 percent,’ a reference to the two percent of high school sweethearts who end up getting married. They had dated for four years.

In his address to the press, Kaylin’s father said Walsh now blames himself for Kaylin’s death, but her father said, ‘It’s Kevin Monahan’s fault.’

In early May, Mausert claimed in court that Warren County Judge Adam Michelini only considered the harm caused and Monahan’s history of gun use but noted that before April 15, Monahan had never been charged with any gun-related crimes, according to WNYT.

Michelini had said he opted to hold Monahan without bail on charges of second-degree murder arguing that he was known in the community as being impulsive and that the media’s scrutiny gave him reason to flee.

San Francisco’s DA has released graphic footage of a Walgreens security guard shooting dead a transgender shoplifter – and said she will not charge him because he was in ‘mortal danger’.

Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony, 33, was working at the drugstore in the downtown area on April 27 when he shot unarmed Banko Brown, 24. A murder charge against Anthony was dropped after the DA ruled the killing was self-defense.

Graphic surveillance footage released on Monday shows Brown holding a bag as he walks toward the store exit. Anthony steps in his path, confronts him about allegedly stealing from the store, which leads to a scuffle before Brown is shot.

His death sparked outrage across the Bay Area, but despite this, DA Brooke Jenkins’ office announced on Monday they were not pressing charges against Anthony.

The surveillance footage shows Brown in a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants, walking out of the store, when the confrontation between him and the security guard unfolds.

Anthony is able to pin Brown to the ground, but then lets him go and Brown walks out of the store, still clutching his bag.

More words are exchanged and then Brown appears to move slightly forward with his arms out, then backs up just as Anthony shoots him.

Brown collapses on the sidewalk outside the store and a crowd of people gather around him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Anthony was originally booked on suspicion of murder the day after the shooting, but then released without charge after the District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Anthony was in ‘mortal danger’ and ‘acted in self-defense.’

In the report released on Monday, the DA citied ‘insufficient evidence’ that his actions equated to a murder or manslaughter charge. Instead, the evidence showed Anthony was ‘sincerely afraid,’ the DA’s office said.

‘All of this evidence strongly suggests that Anthony firing at Brown in self-defense was objectively reasonable,’ the office’s report reads.

The report also notes that that Anthony claimed Brown had repeatedly threatened to stab him. However, investigators found no knife at the scene or on Brown, the SF chronicle reported.

Protests had already began following the decision to drop the charges against Anthony last week and at a meeting of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, activists held up signs reading ‘Justice for Banko Brown’.

One protestor, who identified herself as Lia McGeever, erupted into a scream over the death of Brown, who was homeless and an intern with the Young Women’s Freedom Center.

She said: ‘I hate a lot of people on this board for the reasons that led up to Banko Brown’s death.

Speaking to The San Francisco Standard , Anthony said: ‘[I’m] still dealing with it, still don’t understand and don’t have the time to reflect.

‘It’s not like I go through this many times. This is a very life-changing matter.’

Anthony pointed to the pressure that security guards are under during these types of confrontations, saying: ‘This is important for more people to be more aware of,’ he said. It was happening too frequently.

‘It’s a lot to deal with. It’s a lot of pressure. A person can only take so much. When you are limited to certain options, something will happen.’

‘Who has my back? Nobody. You are left with no support. It’s a frightening feeling with a lot of people around you.’

Last week, a group of community activists gathered outside the Walgreens in downtown San Francisco for a vigil to honor Brown’s memory.

Many local residents have since left floral tributes and candles in memory of Brown.

In a social media post, the Young Women’s Freedom Center wrote: ‘Our community stands strong together in the face of tragedy.

‘In times like these, we show up for each other and we fight for our folks, especially for our siblings that are taken from us way too soon.

‘Thank you to every voice that has spoken, every foot that has marched, and every fist raised in solidarity.’

The incident comes after a number of major chains announced they would be shuttering stores in San Francisco due to soaring crime figures.

Retailers including Nordstrom, Whole Foods, Office Depot and Anthropologie have all said they would be pulling out of the city.

Nordstrom chief stores officer Jamie Nordstrom blamed the state of San Francisco in recent years for reducing foot traffic ‘and our ability to operate successfully.’

Remaining stores like Target have been reduced to locking up their entire stock behind glass to deter shoplifters.

Joe Biden again called on Congress to send an assault weapons ban to his desk for signature after the latest mass shooting in Texas left eight people dead.

The president lamented that the ‘leading cause of death for American kids is gun violence’ while listing the moves he has taken to try and tackle the crisis already, noting ‘it’s not enough.’

‘We need more action, faster to save lives,’ he urged.

Biden also blamed Republicans for holding up action and insisted: ‘Republican Members of Congress cannot continue to meet this epidemic with a shrug. Tweeted thoughts and prayers are not enough.’

‘Once again I ask Congress to send me a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,’ he continued. ‘Enacting universal background checks. Requiring safe storage. Ending immunity for gun manufacturers. I will sign it immediately. We need nothing less to keep our streets safe.’

Meanwhile, Texas’ Republican Gov. Greg Abbott insisted Sunday morning that the best way to address the exponential increase in gun violence is to focus on the mental health problems at the root of the issue.

The explanation comes after his gun-friendly state saw yet another mass shooting on Saturday that left nine people dead at a mall, including the gunman.

Abbott dismissed critics’ claims that the lax gun laws in Texas are to blame for the increased mass shootings. Instead, he noted that all states have been experiencing an increase in gun violence in recent years.

‘We need to recognize the reality we’ve seen across the United States over the last year or two, and that is an increased number of shootings in both red states and blue states,’ the Republican governor told Fox News Sunday. ‘We’ve seen an increased number of shootings in states with easy gun laws, as well as states with very strict gun laws.’

‘I think that the state in which the largest number of victims occurred this year is in California, where they have very tough gun laws,’ he added.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said after the latest mass shooting in his state that mental health is the biggest thing that needs addressing in order to decrease the massive spike in gun violence

A gunman with an AR-15 and wearing full tactical gear opened fire at an H&M clothing store in the Allen Premium Outlets in Allen, Texas on Saturday afternoon.

He gunned down eight people, including children, before a hero cop took out the shooter. The cop was on scene for an unrelated call but rushed over when he heard the gunshots.

Biden lamented in his Sunday afternoon statement: ‘Such an attack is too shocking to be so familiar.’

The shooting on Saturday comes almost exactly a year after another mass shooting shook Texas in Uvalde last May at the Robb Elementary School.

Abbott said earlier on Sunday: ‘One thing that we can observe very easily – and that is there has been a dramatic increase in the amount of anger and violence that’s taking place in America.’

‘And what Texas is doing in a big time way, we are working to address that anger and violence by going to its root cause, which is addressing mental health problems behind it,’ he told Fox News.

New audio footage of the most recent shooting reveals how the unnamed hero officer made a frantic phone call begging for his colleagues to join him on the scene, radioing: ‘I need everybody I got.’

He bravely ran towards the active shooter – who was armed with 60 rounds and had shot over a dozen people by this point – and killed him.

Around two minutes after first calling for backup, the cop said: ‘I got him down.’

Minutes later, another voice is heard on the radio saying: ‘We got victims. I need an ambulance.’

The FBI have raided the dead suspect’s home following the civilian massacre.

A stampede of hundreds of shoppers were seen racing out of the complex while gunfire rained out – as security and police attempted to shepherd them to safety.

People in the store were frantically ushered into lockable rooms, and when they eventually got the all-clear to come out, they saw the broken windows, trails of blood by the door, and bloodied bodies covered in sheets.

Dashcam video showed the gunman getting out of a car and shooting at people on the sidewalk on Saturday afternoon. More than three dozen shots could be heard as the vehicle that was recording the video drove off.

The gunman was using an AR-15-style gun during the mass shooting, and was dressed in full tactical SWAT gear.

Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd confirmed that seven people died at the scene, including the gunman, and then a further two victims died in hospital.

Three of the wounded were in critical condition in the evening, and four were stable, Boyd said in an update on Saturday night.

A Dallas-area medical group said it was treating victims as young as five-years-old.

Investigators have confirmed that they believe the shooter was working alone, but they have not yet released any motive for the devastating killings.

Fontayne Payton, 35, was at H&M when he heard the sound of gunshots through his headphones. He said: ‘It was so loud, it sounded like it was right outside.

‘I pray it wasn’t kids, but it looked like kids,’ he said.

The bodies were covered in white towels, slumped over bags on the ground. ‘It broke me when I walked out to see that.’

Payton then saw the body of the dead shooter – which was the only one not covered, he recalled.

Another witness, Kimberly Blakey, said she and her daughter, 14, were among the crowd of people rushing to flee the parking lot after the gunfire started.

She said the raining bullets were ‘non-stop.’ Her car got shot at during the ordeal as she tried to escape.

Blakey told CNN: ‘I told my daughter to get down. I could hear her start praying.’

Another witness, Sheliza Ramlall, who was in the Nike store when the violence broke out, said: ‘I had the most horrifying experience earlier. I was standing in line at the Nike store when all of a sudden people started to scream and run.

‘The people in the doorway saw the man with the gun outside and raised the alarm. All of us in line dropped to the floor and started to crawl looking for a hiding place while falling over each other.

‘I crawled behind the counter. At that moment, I realized that we were right in plain sight and and figured that I needed to get away from the front.

‘As I looked to the back of the store, I heard someone saying ‘get to the back, get to the back’ and everyone started running at that point. An employee opened the back door and let us out. We are standing by the roadside shaken, crying, and hugging each other.

‘Not knowing where the gunman was or what was happening on the other side was terrifying but I wanted to get out of there so I left the crowd and started to flag the cars down to give me a lift.

‘An elderly woman stopped and I hopped in a panic. She started to tell me about the gunshots she heard and drove me to my car. I raced out of there with an elevated heartbeat.

‘I am grateful for our brave first responders who stopped the shooter and helped the people to safety.’

Mayor Ken Fulk said in a statement on Saturday night: ‘Today is a tragic day for the City of Allen, our citizens, our friends and visitors who were at the Allen Premium Outlets. We know you are grieving, we are grieving.

‘Allen is a proud and safe city which makes today’s senseless act of violence even more shocking. However, I want to commend our police and fire departments for their quick response.

‘Their thorough training not to hesitate to move toward the threat likely saved more lives today. We also want to thank all of our surrounding municipalities and law enforcement agencies for offering their assistance at the scene.

‘This collective effort is what makes our North Texas communities united.’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott described the shooting as an ‘unspeakable tragedy.’

Witnesses have recalled the horrific moments they realized they were in the midst of a mass shooting – with one man, Steven Spainhouer, saying he rushed to desperately save a child who had been shot.

His own son was working at the H&M store when shots were fired.

Spainhouer told CBS News: ‘I never imagined in 100 years I would be thrust into the position of being the first first responder on the site to take care of people.

‘The first girl I walked up to was crouched down covering her head in the bushes, so I felt for a pulse, pulled her head to the side and she had no face.’

He said she was already beyond saving.

Still set on saving the mess of victims, Spainhouer recalled how he then found another child, who survived the barrage of bullets by being covered by his protective mother, who he said was among eight to die by the gunman.

Spainhouer added: ‘When I rolled the mother over, he came out.

‘I asked him if he was OK and he said, ‘My mom is hurt, my mom is hurt.’

‘Rather than traumatize him any more, I pulled him around the corner sat him down and he was covered from head to toe.  [It was] like somebody poured blood on him.’

In recent years, Texas has witnessed some of the most gruesome and deadly mass shootings in America.

Many believe it’s partly because of the state’s loosened gun laws which have come into effect in the past few years.

In September 2021, a ‘constitutional carry’ law came into effect, allowing most Texas who legally own a firearm to carry it openly in public without obtaining a permit or training.

At the time, Gov. Greg Abbott declared that the law ‘instilled freedom in the Lone Star State.’

Just eight months after the pro-gun law was passed, Uvalde, Texas experienced one of the bloodiest school shootings in US history at Robb Elementary School. A total of 19 children were killed, along with two teachers, by gunman Salvador Ramos.

The gunman, 18, wrote ‘LOL,’ an acronym for ‘laugh out loud,’ on a whiteboard using the blood of his innocent victims.

For years in Texas, Republicans have waved aside efforts to tighten gun laws after mass shootings, and even expanded gun rights after the 2019 attack on a Walmart in El Paso.

Jorge Masvidal‘s father has been arrested and charged for second-degree attempted murder after allegedly shooting a man during a dispute at Masvidal Jr.’s Miami home.

In the early hours of Friday, at 1:33am, Jorge Masvidal Fernandez was booked into Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Center according to jail records cited by TMZ.

According to ESPN’s report, Masvidal Sr. shot Luis Lencioni twice, leaving gunshot wounds in both arms. Per a report cited by the outlet, police found a 38-caliber weapon inside a kitchen cabinet at Masvidal Jr.’s residence.

The younger Masvidal wasn’t present and is not a suspect, according to Miami-Dade police, who did not name the suspect, Jorge Masvidal Sr., in Thursday’s statement, provided to DailyMail.com.

Per Florida law, the maximum punishment for the second-degree felony is a 15-year prison sentence and $10,000 fine.

Police were called to Masvidal Jr.’s home around 3pm after a shooting. Upon arrival, officers witnessed an adult male receiving aid from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Lencioni told police he was in an argument that escalated when the accused produced a firearm and shot Lencioni, before he was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

‘All occupants of the residence exited the home where units took the subject into custody without incident,’ read the police statement provided to DailyMail.com. ‘The relationship between all parties on scene has not been confirmed, however, all parties know each other.

‘The listed owner of the residence is Jorge Masvidal Jr.. He was not present during the incident and did not have any involvement.’

The subject is currently awaiting interview by detectives. Neither his, nor the victim’s identities have been released.

Masvidal Jr. retired following April’s loss at UFC 287 in his hometown of Miami. The 38-year-old welterweight suffered a lopsided defeat against Gilbert Burns in the co-main event.

The loss by unanimous decision was the fourth straight defeat for Masvidal Jr., who retires with an MMA record of 35-17 dating back to 2003.

Before leaving the octagon, Masvisal Jr. famously saluted former President Donald Trump, who was in attendance at the Florida event, along with FL Gov. Ron DeSantis.

‘I just want to say, greatest president in the history of the world sitting right there. I love that guy!

He then praised DeSantis before urging the crowd to vote out incumbent President Joe Biden in the 2024 election.

‘We also have the greatest governor of all time here in Florida. Let’s keep Florida free, a red state, and let’s take you know who, ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ motherf***** out of power and replace him.’

Masvidal Jr. then started a ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ chant before exiting the octagon — a common phrase used to voice outward criticism of President Biden.

The slogan was born out of a NASCAR broadcast where an NBC Sports reporter falsely told viewers fans were chanting ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ when they were instead chanting ‘F*** Joe Biden’ following Brandon Brown’s October 2021 Xfinity Series win in Alabama.

The signature moment of Masvidal Jr.’s long career in the Octagon was his five-second knockout of Ben Askren with a flying knee at UFC 239 in 2019. It remains the fastest win in UFC history.
