United are closing in on a move for Sergio Reguilon, who is a direct replacement for the injured Luke Shaw.

After revealing earlier that there is interest from Serie A in Mason Greenwood, Mail Sport understands there is also loan interest in the forward from Spain.

Getafe, currently 11th in La Liga, are interested in a deal for the 21-year-old.

We previously reported how sources indicated to Mail Sport that Lazio are among the clubs looking at that situation, with talks over a possible move to Italy for the Manchester United striker taking place this morning.

Significantly, it is understood there’s reservations at Lazio about the deal. This one is in the balance.

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s move to Nottingham Forest will be announced in next few hours.

The final details are being sorted but everything is agreed. This represents a fresh start for the 22 year old who made his England debut at 18 becoming the youngest ever player to make a debut in a competitive game.

He struggled in recent years to make progress following his Achilles injury. That said, he’s been a starter at Chelsea in the World Club Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

Ultimately, the lure of Steve Cooper, his England Under 17 coach, was decisive. Cooper believes he can get Hudson-Odoi back to his best and the player believes Cooper is the best coach to do that.

Reports in France claim PSG have reached a €90m (£77m) agreement to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Parisiens have been chasing the French forward all summer, with Kolo Muani skipping training this week in order to force through a move.

After making his name with Nantes, Kolo Muani has been a key player for Frankfurt in recent years and impressed at the World Cup with France last year, scoring in the semi-final against Morroc, although he did miss a guilt-edged chance in the final.

Arsenal are contemplating terminating the contract of Nicolas Pepe as the winger continues to struggle to find a move away from the club before Friday’s transfer deadline.

Pepe, who was signed for £72million from Lille in 2019, spent last season on loan at Nice in Ligue 1 after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.

He started just five Premier League games in his last season at the Emirates Stadium, with Arteta more than happy to let him leave.

Genk winger Mike Tresor is in the country to complete a medical with Burnley ahead of a loan move.

It’s one that has been ongoing for weeks but set to come to a conclusion today and the Clarets will have the option to buy the 24-year-old at the end of the season.

Tresor has nine goals and 33 assists for Genk over the last two seasons and will become the fifth Belgian in Vincent Kompany’s squad.

Kompany still wants a striker – with links to Divock Origi – and a central midfielder before the window closes.

Nottingham Forest have a £30m plus deal in place with PSV Eindhoven for midfielder Ibrahim Sangare once Brennan Johnson’s move to Tottenham is agreed.

Personal terms not expected to pose a problem – it will then fall to the player to decide whether he wants to give up Champions League football to join Forest.

Sangare has been linked with several top flight clubs in recent transfer windows and it looks as if he was finally get his move.

Alex Iwobi is having his Fulham medical ahead of £20m plus add-ons move from Everton.

Marco Silva has been desperate to add signings in the final few days of the window with the club having lost star man Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer, while Joao Palhinha, Harrison Reed and Tosin Adarabioyo could also depart.

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have not received an offer from Saudi Arabia over the signing of Mo Salah and claims their position on the subject ‘remains the same’.

The financial problems at West Brom have been seen on various occasions this summer with important first teamers such as Dara O’Shea sold in order to keep the club’s finances ticking over.

Forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has attracted interest from fellow Championship clubs – including Stoke – but as of yet no bid has met the Baggies’ asking price.

The 24-year-old was the club’s top goalscorer with nine goals last season after making the step up from Salford City in League Two.

Leicester have moved for Everton forward Tom Cannon in a deal likely to be worth up to £7million if it goes through – and that means a striker is likely to leave on deadline day.

Until now the Foxes have stuck firmly to their asking price of about £20million for Kelechi Iheanacho, which has deterred Crystal Palace and Wolves.

Patson Daka, meanwhile, is a loan target for AC Milan, while Jamie Vardy also remains at the club. Daka the likeliest of the trio to depart today.

Cannon had offers from Norwich City and Preston North End while Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday had wanted him on loan.

Brennan Johnson was preparing to travel to London on Friday morning for a Tottenham medical in anticipation of a £45million transfer from Nottingham Forest.

Forest have been ready to sell Johnson since the end of last season and had knocked back two bids from Brentford for their homegrown star, plus an initial enquiry from Tottenham on Thursday.

If Johnson’s move proceeds as expected, Forest will set their sights on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

Fee and personal terms not expected to pose a problem – it will then fall to the player to decide whether he wants to give up Champions League football to join Forest.

Former Everton and Tottenham midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is back in football, penning a one-year deal at his new club.

The 33-year-old has been without a club since being released by the Toffees at the end of the 2021-22 season following the expiration of his contract. 

Sigurdsson’s last competitive game came during a 5-0 loss to Man City on the final day of the 2020-21 season.

Tottenham have made contact with Chelsea over a potential deal for midfielder Conor Gallagher.

As Mail Sport reported yesterday, the England international is weighing up his future after Chelsea brought in Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia for their midfield.

Gallagher captained Chelsea against AFC Wimbledon and would prefer to stay if he continues to get regular game time but is realistic about his opportunities.

Tottenham need to offload players first before they are likely to bid and their immediate focus is on signing Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest amid competition from Brentford.

However, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele are likely to depart today. Spurs have a bid from Fulham on the table for Hojbjerg plus loan offers from Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray. Ndombele has interest from Inter Milan.

The Blues confirmed the £42.5m signing of Man City starlet Cole Palmer on a seven-year deal this morning, with the option of an extra 12 months. 

Chelsea will pay an initial £40m with the remainder of the package for the 21 year-old made up of add-ons.

The deal takes Chelsea’s spending since Todd Boehly took over the club last year to £1bn in what has been a remarkably aggressive recruitment policy.

We are yet to see the results on the pitch, with the west London side winning just 12 of their 41 games during the US businessman’s tenure.

However, there have been some positive signs during the early days of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at the club.

‘He wasn’t happy with his situation here as he sees the chance in Liverpool to fight for a place in a 433.

‘He’s wanted to go for a while. An offer came in, we discussed it. The outcome is clear.’

Fiorentina would prefer to reach agreement on a sale for Sofyan Amrabat as Manchester United continue negotiations.

The Morocco international is valued around £25m-£30m and United are looking to agree a loan with obligation for the 27-year-old who has one year left on contract.

The Italians, however, know that United have room for manoeuvre within financial fair play after bringing in £20m from Crystal Palace for Dean Henderson yesterday.

They want a fee agreed now with Amrabat a free agent next summer. United’s Matt Hargreaves has flown over to Italy to conduct negotiations.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s 19-year-old defender Marc Jurado has completed a permanent move to Espanyol with a sell-on clause. Jurado had joined United from Espanyol’s rivals Barcelona three years ago but also had interest from Real Betis last week.

There is plenty going on around Man United today.

Two new faces look likely. Discussions are ongoing with Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat, while they are working on completing a loan deal for Sergio Reguilon from Spurs.

As Sami Mokbel reported earlier, Lazio are interested in Mason Greenwood.

Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly could also leave today. Scott McTominay is expected to remain at Old Trafford alongside Harry Maguire amid interest from elsewhere. 

There have been some interesting comments from Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs after Matheus Nunes’ £53m move to Man City was confirmed.

Nunes went on strike to force through a transfer to the Treble-winners, with his last appearance for Gary O’Neil’s side seeing him get sent off for ill-discipline during a 4-1 defeat to Brighton.

Hobbs said: ‘I was disappointed with how it ended, it wasn’t necessary the stance Matheus took, but we ended with a good resolution for everyone.

‘Matheus is a hugely talented player but would admit that last season he didn’t hit the heights he expected, but it was a tough season for the team, so maybe he wasn’t allowed to do that.

‘We’ve lost a player with a lot of potential, a lot of ability, but the situation has led to us bringing a greater number of players in to improve the squad and provide competition in the group.

‘The players here want competition in training, so while we’ve lost a good player, it’s made us a more competitive and better squad overall.’

Man City midfielder James McAtee has chosen a return to Sheffield United on loan.

The 20-year-old had Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Feyenoord all offering to take him on loan but after the season he had helping the Blades earn promotion he felt an emotional pull back to Bramall Lane

McAtee found it difficult to turn to down former City coach Enzo Maresca in particular especially with the size of the club and style of Leicester’s play but the lure of playing in the Premier League regularly under Paul Heckingbottom, a manger he knows well, has proved too great to resist. 

It’s a busy day at Manchester City, who have announced the £53million deal for Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes.

It’s mostly outgoings this morning though, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle sorting loans moves away to Southampton and Wolves respectively. Both of those academy products will have played their last games for the club, with purchase clauses in the deals.

Cole Palmer has gone to Chelsea, while James McAtee is also closing on a loan return to Sheffield United.

All four of those players were seen as potential first-team players at one stage.

Positive signs for Tottenham as they look to make their first signing of deadline day.

There are several players they are keen to move on such as Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, while Ange Postecoglou’s side are also interested in Conor Gallagher.

It promises go right down to the wire in north London.

Matheus Nunes has promised to inject more energy into Manchester City’s midfield after sealing a £53million switch from Wolves.

The Portugal international went on strike earlier this week in a bid to force through a move to the Treble winners, angering Wolves boss Gary O’Neil.

City were willing to walk away from the deal as the two clubs haggled over a fee but secured Nunes before the transfer deadline – and in time to name him in Saturday’s squad to face Fulham.

The 25-year-old will have to wait to meet Pep Guardiola, who remains in Barcelona recovering from back surgery.

The key thing to remember with Brennan Johnson is this: Forest are more than open to a sale.

Like every club, they must take account of FFP and whatever they receive for Johnson represents pure profit.

Personal terms are not expected to cause an issue and though it may go to the wire, there was cautious optimism on Friday morning that Johnson would end up a Spurs player when the window closed.

Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez has admirers at Forest and Spurs are willing sellers, but as yet the Colombian has shown little interest in moving to the City Ground.

This is a problem for Spurs: plenty of players they are willing to move, but those players are not so easy to shift.

Qatari club Al-Duhail are confident of completing the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Aston Villa, despite the Brazilian having interest from Besiktas and Real Betis.

The attacking midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park, despite being one of the club’s top earners.

Villa also added Nicolo Zaniolo in this window which is expected to impact Coutinho’s gametime even more.

His last start for Unai Emery’s side came in their 4-2 defeat to Arsenal in February.

Leeds United defender Cody Drameh has just agreed to join Birmingham City on loan.

The 21-year-old right-back has previously been on loan with Luton Town and Cardiff City 

Meanwhile, Daniel Farke’s side are continuing talks with Roma over a £4m deal for winger Ola Solbakken, who also has interest from Olympiacos.

Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed a £55million fee with Fulham to sign Joao Palhinha.

Fulham rejected Bavarian giants’ initial offer of £47m for the Portuguese midfielder earlier this week but negotiations between the two clubs continued.

The 28-year-old is said to be determined to secure a move to join Thomas Tuchel’s side and has flown to Munich in anticipation of the move being completed before Friday’s deadline.

Nuno Tavares has joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan from Arsenal, with an option to buy.

The left-back spent the 2022-23 campaign with Marseille in France after falling out of favour with the Gunners.

Forest have been desperate to strengthen on the left-side of defence with Harry Toffolo recently charged with alleged betting breaches and Omar Richards on loan with Olympiacos.

Tavares is expected to be one of a number of arrivals at the City Ground on Friday, with Bologna midfielder Nicolas Dominguez and Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is another expected to arrive should Brennan Johnson join Tottenham as expected.

The big one to watch is PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare. Forest have followed him all summer for the defensive midfield role and if they can do a deal, it is likely to break their transfer record.

Wolves remain in talks with Southampton over a deal for striker Che Adams, who the Championship club will allow to leave under the right circumstances.

Mail Sport revealed on Thursday that Adams was high on Wolves’ list after they decided Leicester’s £20million asking price for Kelechi Iheanacho was too high.

Adams has only one year left on his contract and is keen to return to the Premier League following Saints’ relegation last term.

Meanwhile, Wolves are desperate to find a taker for forward Daniel Podence, who has interested from clubs in Qatar.

Manchester United striker Charlie McNeill is set to join Stevenage on loan for the season.

McNeill, 19, spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Newport County, scoring twice in 20 appearances.

He made his senior United debut last September, in the Europa League defeat by Real Sociedad.

The striker is currently undergoing a medical ahead of his move to the Lamex Stadium where he will link-up with Steve Evans’ side.

Boro have begun their campaign positively and currently sit fifth, which comes following promotion from League Two last season.

Evans has a good record for developing young strikers, with the Scot having played a key role in improving the likes of Ivan Toney and Chris Wood during their formative years.

Tottenham have communicated to Nottingham Forest that they want to lock in a couple of outgoings before submitting an improved offer for Brennan Johnson, who is still attracting interest from Brentford and one other Premier League club.

Spurs have already made one offer of around £40m that has been turned down by Forest.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are leaving it late for Johnson, with this one expected to run close to the deadline.

Manchester United are focusing on the transfer of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The clubs are discussing a loan with obligation to buy the Morocco international who has been training away from the first team group while his future is resolved.

Amrabat – who is yet to play this season – shot to stardom with his superb performances at the World Cup for Morocco last year and he was key as Fiorentina reached both the Europa Conference League and Coppa Italia final.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

The attacking midfielder has joined in a deal worth up to £42.5m and has signed a seven-year deal that includes an additional one-year option.

England Under-21 captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis has completed a loan move to Southampton.

The Manchester City academy graduate made eight appearances in cup competitions under Pep Guardiola but has largely spent the last two years out on loan.

There is an obligation to buy clause, worth around £20million, in the loan if Saints win promotion back to the Premier League following relegation in May.

Harwood-Bellis was due to be out of contract at the Etihad Stadium next summer but has extended his contract by 12 months, which offers City flexibility on a transfer fee if Southampton don’t go up.

Nottingham Forest and Fulham had been keen on the 21-year-old after his performances for Burnley as they won the Championship title last year.

Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga is in Augsburg having his medical ahead of a loan move.

Burnley, Forest and Fulham are looking at a late deal for AC Milan’s Divock Origi.

Everton have offers of over £6m from Norwich, Leicester and Preston for striker Tom Cannon.

Arsenal are believed to not be expecting any transfer incomings today. The club’s main focus is to now find moves for Nicolas Pepe, Rob Holding and Nuno Tavares. 

Tavares’ loan move to Nottingham Forest is all but done, and expected to be announced in the coming hours.

The Gunners have been doing their upmost to find clubs for Holding and Pepe for months, though in the case of Holding it appears a deal could be struck before the window closes.

Wolves and Crystal Palace are said to be in a race to sign the defender.

Though Pepe remains a conundrum. Arsenal are desperate to get the winger off their books, and are now even contemplating terminating his contract if a move is not secured for him.  

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is edging closer to an exit from Stamford Bridge.

A loan deal to Bayern Munich for the 24-year-old is being discussed by the clubs, with the player keen on the move.

If the transfer is completed, Chalobah would be reunited with Thomas Tuchel – the manager who he made his breakthrough under for the Blues.

A loan is the preferred option for Bayern, with the German giants putting their money into a deal for Palhinha.

Manchester United have signed Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce for £4.2million as cover for Andre Onana.

The 25-year-old sorted a move after Dean Henderson went to Crystal Palace in a £15m switch yesterday.

‘It’s a huge honour to join United and become the first Turkish player to represent this incredible club,’ Bayindir said.

‘I will give everything to help this special group of players to achieve our ambitions.

‘I cannot wait to get started working with such an experienced goalkeeping unit. We will support each other and drive high standards every day so that each of us is ready to perform whenever called upon.’

Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher has duly moved onto their radar in the final two days of the window. No formal approach has been made as yet but Gallagher is aware of their interest.

Any deal will hinge on whether Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is loaned out to Atletico Madrid, creating a vacancy in their midfield.

We’re all set for a dramatic day ahead, with plenty of Premier League and Football League clubs looking to put the final touches to their squads.

The deadline is open until 11PM tonight, but for teams to have their new signings available to play this weekend, they must be signed and registered before midday.

Unfortunately, this means that Luton and West Ham – who take on each other at Kenilworth Road tonight – will not have the opportunity to play any signings that are yet to be announced.

Crystal Palace are emerging as the leading contenders to land Arsenal defender Rob Holding before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Centre-back Holding has been among the players Arsenal have been open to offers for in this window.

He has been subject of interest from clubs in England, Italy and Spain this summer but the Selhurst Park club are increasingly hopeful of strengthening their defensive options by securing the 27 year-old.

Holding has been at Arsenal since 2016 and made over 150 appearances for the club.

Bayern Munich’s protracted move for Fulham Joao Palhinha made ‘good’ progress overnight.

The clubs ‘weren’t close’ to an agreement as of Thursday afternoon but there is now a feeling that an agreement can be reached.

Fulham are looking at replacements but given the Portuguese midfielder made the most tackles in the Premier League last season, his departure would be a huge blow.

Cole Palmer’s £45m move from Man City to Chelsea is expected to be confirmed mid-morning.

He finalised a deal last night, signing a seven-year contract with the option of an eighth, with it done in time to make the squad to face Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

Palmer will be reunited with Raheem Sterling, who was a big advocate of his when the pair were at City. 

Omari Kellyman’s senior debut for Aston Villa will earn Derby an additional six-figure sum under the terms of the teenager’s £600,000 move to Villa in 2022.

The 17-year-old forward impressed during their 3-0 victory against Hibernian on Thursday in the Europa Conference League qualifier.

With Cole Palmer expected to be final major addition for Chelsea focus will be on last few outgoings today. Couple of updates along those lines. Callum Hudson-Odoi is due to arrive in Nottingham this morning to finalise his permanent move from Chelsea.

Also, Ian Maatsen is another Chelsea player who has attracted interest this summer after impressing on loan for Burnley last season. He’s primarily been a left-back and there has been some conversation about whether he might be a late mover given the interest in him and now with Marc Cucurella set to stay.

However feeling is heading into the final day of the window – and was given a big percentage chance – that he will remain at Chelsea. Something else to consider is that Maatsen has also been deployed further forward under Mauricio Pochettino so that could be another factor lessening the link between his situation and Cucurella’s.

Forest are expected to sell Brennan Johnson to Tottenham for around £45million. Meanwhile, Forest were looking to sign Davinson Sanchez, but, as of yesterday he didn’t want to leave.

Forest are also signing Nuno Tavares from Arsenal, Nicolas Dominguez from Bologna and will try for Ibrahim Sangare from PSV – which could be a potential club record deal. 

Others will leave, possibly Boly and/or Kouyate depending on who comes in, although the market in the Middle East stays open for longer so not everything has to be done today.

Wolves are expecting to sign Che Adams on loan as we indicated yesterday. They’re desperate to shift Daniel Podence who may end up going to Qatar.

Villa will announce Clement Lenglet on loan this morning and sell Coutinho to Al-Duhail in Qatar. Youngster Jaden Philogene will join Hull.

They’re pretty well set but I think Emery wants to do one more, probably an attacking midfielder with Coutinho going out and Buendia injured long term.
