New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez has ignored pleas from his colleagues to resign after being indicted on federal bribery charges earlier this week. 

Menendez, 69, and his wife Nadine, 56, are facing three criminal counts each for their part in an alleged bribery scheme after a year long investigation. 

After the indictment against the beleaguered senator, who has previously been indicted, was released on Friday, numerous colleagues asked him to stand down. 

In statements, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy called the allegations ‘deeply disturbing’ and asked the senator to stand down. 

In similar fashion, Republican Bill Pascrell Jr, one of the most senior members of the state’s congressional delegation said the gravity of the charges was the difference.

Pascrell said: ‘This is a sad day for our great state. The senator deserves his day in court. 

‘But given the gravity of these charges I do not believe that Senator Menendez can continue to carry out the important duties of his office for our state.’ 

Governor Phil Murphy released a statement saying: ‘The allegations in the indictment against Senator Menendez and four other defendants are deeply disturbing. 

‘These are serious charges that implicate national security and the integrity of our criminal justice system. 

‘Under our legal system, Senator Menendez and the other defendants have not been found guilty and will have the ability to present evidence disputing these charges, and we must respect the process. 

‘However, the alleged facts are so serious that they compromise the ability of Senator Menendez to effectively represent the people of our state. Therefore, I am calling for his immediate resignation.’

Despite this, Menendez fought off calls for him to step down from his role, saying: ‘Those who believe in justice believe in innocence until proven guilty. 

‘I intend to continue to fight for the people of New Jersey with the same success I’ve had for the past five decades. I am not going anywhere.’

After the indictment was released, Menendez claimed he had been the victim of a racist witch hunt against him. 

He said: ‘Those behind this campaign simply cannot accept that a first generation Latin American from humble beginnings could rise to be a U.S. senator.

‘I have been falsely accused before because I refused to back down to the powers that be and the people of New Jersey were able to see through the smoke and mirrors and recognize I was innocent.’

He added he would not be ‘distracted by baseless allegations’ but continue his work as senator.

Multiple gold bars were found during a court-authorized search of the couple’s home in June 2022. 

The gold bars were part of the hundreds of thousands in bribes the couple are accused of accepting, which totaled over $400,000.

Agents also discovered over $500,000 worth of cash stuffed into envelopes and in jackets belonging to the senator.  

The criminal indictment claimed the New Jersey senator Googled ‘How much is one kilo of gold worth?’ after arriving home from a trip to Egypt in October 2021. 

Menendez Googled the price of gold another time, soon after his wife thanked Fred Daibes, a New Jersey businessman and longtime Menendez associate, for ‘Christmas in January,’ according to the document.

Daibes is an old friend of Menendez, has fundraised for his Senate campaign, and allegedly has ties to the Genovese mob family. 

The indictment alleges that Menendez tried to disrupt a federal criminal prosecution of Fred Daibes in exchange for the money and other items of value. 

Daibes and two others, Wael Hana and Jose Uribe, were involved in paying ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes’ in exchange for the senator using his power to secretly benefit the Egyptian government, according to the indictment.

Uribe allegedly bought Menendez and Nadine the luxury vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz C-300 convertible worth more than $60,000.

In exchange, Menendez ‘agreed and sought to interfere in a New Jersey state criminal prosecution of an associate of Uribe,’ the indictment states. 

The couple face three criminal counts each: conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services fraud, and conspiracy to commit extortion under color of official right. 

The three businessmen face charges of conspiracy to commit bribery and conspiracy to commit honest services fraud.

The indictment also charges the senator with providing ‘sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt.’

The probe also looked at other bribes allegedly paid to the couple. ‘Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,’ the indictment said.

Menendez and his wife reportedly sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gold bars despite having faced foreclosure just three years earlier and neglecting to initially disclose it on their ethics filings.

Businesswoman Nadine Arslanian, 56, cashed in up to $400,000 worth of gold last spring, in a sale that occurred just months before a federal investigation into the New Jersey Democrat was announced to the public.

Damian Williams, attorney with Southern District of New York, outlined the charges and supporting evidence during a press conference Friday morning.

Williams said the  couple used Menendez’s ‘power and influence to protect and enrich the businessmen and benefit the government of Egypt.’

He noted investigators ‘executed a search warrant and discovered over $500,000 worth of cash stuffed into envelopes and the senator’s jackets’ and a ‘lot of gold’.

David Schertler, a lawyer for Nadine Menendez, said she ‘denies any criminal conduct and will vigorously contest these charges in court.’

The indictment charges Menendez ‘promised to and did use his influence and power’ to pressure President Joe Biden to nominate a U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey who Menendez ‘believed could be influenced by Menendez with respect to the federal criminal prosecution of Fred Daibes.’

Multiple people who work on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ were detained Thursday night on charges of illegal entry to the House of Representatives.

A total of nine people were initially detained over the incident, according to Fox News. 

Among the arrestees are Robert Smigel, best known for his character Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Smigel, 62, is a frequent guest on Colbert’s CBS show. 

Also arrested were one of Colbert’s producers, Allison Martinez, and writer, Josh Comers, reports Fox News.  

According to Fox News’ Chad Pergram, the group was attempting to film and take pictures around the offices House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Lauren Boebert.

It is unclear why, but the visit may be linked to the ongoing January 6 riot hearings – with Democrat Representative Adam Schiff reportedly letting the posse in.  

The group had earlier been attempting to get interviews in the Cannon House Office Building but were removed due to a lack of proper press credentials. 

Those detained in addition to Smigel have been named as Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Josh Comers and David Feldman. 

According to her LinkedIn page, Allison Martinez is an associate producer on Colbert’s popular late night comedy talk show. 

While on his page, Jake Plunkett is listed as a senior producer and director on the program. 

Brendan Hurley is a prop master on the show and has worked with Colbert since the host’s Comedy Central show, ‘The Colbert Report.’

Josh Comers is a Brooklyn-based comedian and writer. 

David Feldman is a writer and comedian who previously worked on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ and ‘The Daily Show.’ 

On his website, Feldman made no reference to his arrest but said that he was returning to New York City after filming with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog whom he referred to as his ‘boss.’ Feldman joked: ‘He’s tough, but fair.’  

A CBS spokesperson told DailyMail.com that the members of the team were detained following their final interview after they stayed behind to film ‘comedy elements in the halls.’

The spokesperson said that the interviews were authorized and pre-arranged through congressional aides. 

The team were filming at the Capitol on June 15 and 16, the spokesperson said.  

Citing a congressional source, Fox News Jesse Watters said on a broadcast that the group gained access to the building from Democratic congressmen Rep. Adam Schiff of California and Rep. Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts. 

During an appearance on Watters’ show, Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois said that the group were banging on the doors of fellow Republicans Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Davis also told Watters: ‘We just found out about the arrest today, and I’m going to make sure when we get back to Washington next week, we are going to ask the questions that need to be asked. We will ask the security officials why these arrests had to be made.’ 

The House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack public hearings have featured heavily on Colbert’s show in recent days. 

On Wednesday, the host made light of reputed Proud Boy leader Joseph Biggs requesting to have his trial moved from Washington DC due to media attention.

Biggs’ lawyers specifically mentioned Colbert’s show in documents. Colbert joked: ‘They want to move the trial to some place where The Proud Boys have a better reputation. Like 1930s Berlin.’ 

According to a statement from capitol police: ‘On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) received a call for a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building.’

‘Responding officers observed seven individuals, unescorted and without Congressional ID, in a sixth-floor hallway.’   

The statement continued: ‘The building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been directed by the USCP to leave the building earlier in the day.’ 

‘They were charged with Unlawful Entry. This is an active criminal investigation, and may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the U.S. Attorney.’

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Saturday that he ‘hoped’ actor Woody Harrelson was now supporting his 2024 White House bid and ruled out being former President Donald Trump‘s running mate during his appearance at the Iowa State Fair.

Kennedy and fellow presidential hopeful Marianne Williamson were the two Democrats to attend the fair this year, scheduled back-to-back at the Des Moines Register’s Political Soapbox Saturday afternoon.

With President Joe Biden in the White House – and skipping the fair for Rehoboth Beach – much of the political attention at the fair was on the Republicans vying for their party’s nomination. 

But Kennedy’s speech, in particular, attracted throngs of supporters of Trump – who had spoken across the street earlier – with calls of ‘Trump-Kennedy!’ and ‘Drain the swamp!’ 

Kennedy, an environmental lawyer turned prominent anti-vaxxer, told reporters afterward that he ‘would not’ become Trump’s running mate. 

He was more optimistic, however, about gaining some more star power.

Kennedy is married to actress Cheryl Hines, from Curb Your Enthusiasm fame. 

On Friday she posted a picture with Harrelson – and he was sporting a Kennedy hat. 

Asked by DailyMail.com Saturday if he had gained another famous supporter the candidate answered, ‘I hope so.’ 

 ‘My wife did a podcast with him. And she gave him a hat at the beginning of the podcast and she said, “Well, do you want to take it off now that we’re doing it?” He said no, so,’ Kennedy said. 

‘You know, he’s very hard to get on a cell phone,’ Kennedy also said of Harrelson. ‘Because he doesn’t use cell phones.’ 

Both Kennedy and Williamson have the disadvantage of another Democrat already residing in the White House.

Williamson confirmed Saturday that the Democratic National Committee has informed her campaign that there will be no Democratic primary debates, which is standard practice when there’s an incumbent president running. 

She said that while she’s being ignored by many mainstream media outlets she’s been having success on TikTok, which is why her strongest numbers come from the country’s youngest voters. 

‘They support me because they hear me,’ she said. ‘And they hear me because they’re on TikTok.’ 

‘So if you’re young, I have access to you and it doesn’t cost money,’ she continued. ‘If you’re older than that you’re likely getting your political information from MSNBC, CNN and so on,’ she said, places she’s been ‘blackballed.’  

Biden was represented at the fair on opening day by Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, who appeared Thursday alongside Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart. 

Walz expressed that he wasn’t disappointed that Biden wouldn’t be attending this year’s fair.  

‘I think the president is out everywhere. I know, Vice President Harris was here two weeks ago, I think you’re gonna see a lot of surrogates,’ he said. 

He gave a frank ‘no’ when asked if was concerned that Kennedy and Williamson would be representing the party at the fair. 

‘We’ve got some concerns about the fact that Robert Kennedy Jr. made some anti-Semitic comments,’ Hart said, jumping in. 

Kennedy at one point invoked Anne Frank and implied Jews had more freedoms during the Holocaust than the unvaccinated during the pandemic. 

He more recently said COVID was ‘ethnically targeted’ so spare Jewish people and the Chinese. 

‘But, you know, again Iowa is very proud of the tradition of the state fair and is welcoming to all,’ Hart said.

The man previously known as the Preppy Killer and the Central Park Strangler who was convicted of a murder that gripped New York City in the 1980s was released from prison this week after serving a second sentence for drug and assault charges. 

Robert Chambers was just 19 years old when he confessed to the murder of 18-year-old Jennifer Levin, who was found slain and half-clothed in Central Park. He would later claim that it was an accident that happened when she demanded rough sex.

Chambers’ case went to trial but when the jury failed to reached a decision after nine days, he accepted a plea deal of first-degree manslaughter in exchange for a sentence of five to 15 years. He served the full 15 years and was released in 2003. 

Chambers found himself in legal trouble again when he was arrested in 2007 on drug and assault charges.

He was sentenced to 19 years but released from Shawangunk Correctional Facility in New York on July 25, 2023, according to the Department of Corrections website. It’s unclear where Chambers, 56, is now.

Chambers had only been out of prison for a few years when he was arrested on drug charges in 2005 and again in 2007 for selling drugs out of his apartment. 

He was 41 years old at the time of the second arrest and struggled with police when they tried to handcuff him for the felony charges. 

Chambers’ lawyer claimed he had become an addict at the age of 14 and was, by 2007, using 10 to 12 bags of heroin a day. Chambers planned to plead insanity but prosecutors countered that Chambers was a drug dealer. He was sentenced to 19 years on the drug charge and released in 2023. 

While he spent much of his life in and out of prison, Levin’s family wonders what life would be like if she were still alive. 

‘I think [about] what Jennifer might be doing, what she would look like,’ Ellen Levin told People shortly after Chambers was released for the manslaughter charge. ‘I think about the grandchildren I won’t have. Her dream was to be a designer, but that’s gone now. And all that loss runs deep.’

The 1986 murder of a promising young high school student at the hands of her classmate was revisited in 2019 in a five-part AMC and Sundance TV docuseries The Preppy Killer.

Jennifer Levin, 18, was just a few weeks away from heading off to college when her body was discovered by a cyclist in Central Park on August 26, 1986.

Police soon arrived on the scene and began a citywide manhunt for any suspects in the case, going so far as to shut down all the bridges and tunnels in Manhattan.

Unbeknownst to them at the time, the man responsible was sitting nearby and watching this all unfold.

Chambers would later tell this to police while also confessing to the murder of Jennifer, claiming that it was an accident that was brought about when she demanded rough sex.

Levin had been out with her friends the previous night at Dorian’s, a popular bar located just a few blocks east of Central Park.

Those friends quickly told police that they remembered the young woman had been speaking to Robert outside the bar, with a few recalling that the pair were seen walking off together at the end of the night.

Police went to Chambers’ house that same day, whose face was covered in scratches similar to the ones found on Levin’s own neck from where she tried to pry off her killer’s hands.

He initially blamed the markings in his cat, but did agree to accompany police to the station for further questioning about Levin’s death.

Chambers initially told police that he had seen Jennifer at the end of the night outside the bar, but that the two parted ways shortly after saying their goodbyes.

It was when police presented him with the fact that eyewitnesses had seen the two walking off together that his story began to change, and he told police that not only did he and Levin go to Central Park that night but it was also him who killed the teenager.

He claimed that Levin had asked him for ‘rough sex,’ and then tied his hands with her underpants when stimulating his genitals.

At one point things got too rough, said Chambers, who was more than a foot taller than his victim.

He claimed that after managing to untie his hands he threw Jennifer off his body, and that she was killed when she struck the ground.

Police then informed Chambers that he would be booked, but did allow him to see his parents before he was sent off to jail.

When he saw his father, he said: ‘That f***ing b****, why didn’t she leave me alone?’

Chambers faced two second-degree murder charges at trial, during which the prosecutors were not able to present evidence they had uncovered linking Chambers to more than 30 robberies.

It turned out that he had been stealing for some time to fund his cocaine addiction, after being kicked out of Boston University following just one semester at the institution.

The defense meanwhile presented Levin as a promiscuous young women despite no evidence to support this beyond the fact that she was a popular student.

This was enough to deadlock the jury however, and after nine days with no decision, Chambers and his attorneys agreed to enter a guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter and burglary.

He was sentenced to five to 15 years in prison, and ultimately ended up serving out the full term and and extra time for his infractions behind bars.

Chambers would maintain even after his release that he strangled Levin to stop her from hurting him during ‘rough sex.’

Ahead of Father’s Day, Robert De Niro discussed his children with People at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Saturday.

The 79-year-old actor attended a screening for his 1993 movie A Bronx Tale and told the outlet that his six older children haven’t met his 2-month-old daughter Gia Virginia yet.

He shares the newborn baby girl with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, to whom he’s been linked since summer 2021.

When asked if his kids — Drena, 51, Raphael, 46, twins Julian and Aaron, 27, Elliot, 24, and Helen, 11 — have met the child, De Niro said, ‘Not yet, but they will.’

And for the upcoming holiday, the Goodfellas star said he is ‘just gonna spend it with the kids and all that.’

Chazz Palminteri, De Niro’s former co-star, gushed to the outlet: ‘Oh, I saw the baby. Beautiful baby.’

And his other former co-star Katharine Narducci noted that even though she hasn’t met his newest addition, De Niro is ‘an unbelievable father’ and ‘a wonderful person.’

She explained, ‘I’ve seen him around his kids, and I know his daughter Drena, and they have a beautiful relationship.’

‘And I think he’s a great guy, you know, a great dad, a great person — a great human being,’ the actress added.

It comes after the longtime entertainer shared a glimpse of his seventh child during an appearance on CBS Mornings in May.

Gia was welcomed by her parents on April 6 and weighed 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

The actor’s first two children came from his marriage to Diahnne Abbott. He went on to welcome twins with girlfriend Toukie Smith.

Elliot and Helen are shared with ex-wife Grace Hightower – the two married in 1997 and separated in 2018. 

On the Today show to promote the Tribeca Festival, he opened up about his newborn daughter and mentioned his close pal, Al Pacino.

‘Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, I was told yesterday morning, and he’s a few years older than me. God bless him, very happy for him,’ he said.

Robert also gushed about raising a newborn once again, stating, ‘It feels great.’

In regards to how he has changed as a father, the star told host Hoda Kotb, ‘I have certain awareness — when you’re older you have awareness of certain things in life, dynamics, everything, family dynamics.’

The Goodfellas actor added, ‘You can’t avoid learning certain things and how you can deal with those and manage them and this and that, the usual. 

‘It’s amazing, but I’m very happy about it.’

Shortly after the news of his new family addition came to light, the actor told Page Six that welcoming his seventh child was ‘planned’ and questioned ‘How you could not plan that kind of thing?’

Robert both starred in and directed A Bronx Tale, which marks its 30th anniversary this year.

Prior to the screening he opened up about it to Extra as he said, ‘I am really looking forward to it, especially at the Beacon Theater… the audience… can’t wait.’

Last month he attended the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Martin Scorsese’s crime drama Killers Of The Flower Moon, which he stars in.

The film, which also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Brendan Fraser and Jesse Plemons, received a nine-minute standing ovation following the screening.

Robert Carlyle joined his Full Monty cast-mates at the UK premiere of the classic comedy’s Disney+ spin-off in Sheffield on Monday – 25 years after the movie’s release. 

The actor, 62, who played Gaz in the 1997 flick, cut a casual figure in a white sports jacket which he layered over a black T-shirt and jeans. 

The original cast have reunited for the sequel series which follows the gang as they continue to navigate life in the post-industrial city of Sheffield.

Written by the film’s screenwriter Simon Beaufoy, the show charts what happened to the group after they put their kit back on, following their famous striptease in the original movie.

Also at the event was GOT’s Mark Addy, 58, who returns to his role as the hapless Dave Horsefall. 

The actor beamed as he took to the red carpet in a blue denim shirt which he teamed with a dark tailored suit. 

The film followed a group of unemployed men as they decide to form a male stripper act in an attempt to make some money. 

The new series will feature the original group over eight episodes, as they  are faced with crumbling healthcare, education and employment systems.

It will also introduce a whole host of new cast members including children and grandchildren of the returning characters.

Simon Beaufoy, creator, writer, and executive producer, said: ‘We’re chuffed to bits to get all the Monty Men back together again – now with a chaotic entourage of children, grandchildren, pets and assorted hangers on – to see what life in Sheffield is like twenty-five years on.’

Lee Mason, director of scripted content EMEA, Disney added: ’25 years ago Simon introduced us to a group of funny, fearless and resilient unemployed working-class men from Sheffield and the world fell in love with them.

‘We’re delighted to reunite the original cast for this brand-new series on Disney+ to catch up with these iconic characters and what they’ve been up to since we last saw them on stage in all their glory, and we can’t wait to introduce a host of exciting new faces and characters.’

The episodes are directed by Andrew Chaplin and Catherine Morshead, and co-written by Alice Nutter with Simon Lewis as Series Producer.

Robert’s character Gaz will deal with fatherhood as he is seen trying to connect with his daughter in the latest trailer that was released last month.

The pair are seen sat together on a hill as he tells her: ‘We haven’t seen that much of each other in a while, maybe make up for lost time, eh?’

Gaz also comes to blows with Dave (Mark Addy) after he criticises him for being an absent father.

Gaz tells him: ‘Who the hell are you to give out parenting advice eh? You don’t even have any kids.’

It’s also hinted the gang may be getting their kit off once more as Gaz is heard saying in voiceover: ‘This is going to be the greatest comeback’. 

The Full Monty was released  to critical acclaim. For a time it was the highest grossing film in the UK until it was later outsold by Titanic.

The episodes will explore the brighter, sillier and more humane way forward where communal effort can still triumph over adversity. 

The show is directed by Andrew Chaplin and Catherine Morshead, and co-written by Alice Nutter with Simon Lewis as Series Producer. 

One actor who won’t be returning is Hugo Speer who was axed from the show after he allegedly invited a woman into his trailer while completely naked during filming.

The actor, who played Guy in the film, had his contract terminated with ‘immediate’ effect after allegedly gesturing a runner in her twenties to enter his trailer while he had no clothes on, according to The Sun.

He has denied the claims, with his spokesperson telling ET: ‘Hugo denies all the allegations and is challenging all of them.’

The Sun reported that the horrified woman reported Hugo’s actions to show bosses, who took immediate action.

It is said that Hugo had been previously warned about walking around his trailer while stark naked before he eventually got the axe after allegedly inviting in a woman. 

A Disney+ representative told MailOnline: ‘Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Hugo Speer on the set of a commissioned production. As is policy, an investigation was launched. 

‘Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his contract, with immediate effect.’

The Full Monty will be released on Disney+ on June 14.

Robert Downey Jr. and his 11-year-old son Exton star in a new trailer for his HBO Max reality show Downey’s Dream Cars.

The 58-year-old Hollywood heartthrob is seen early on showing off his formidable collection of vintage automobiles largely from the 1960s and 1970s.

Now, with the help of professionals, he has embarked on the task of lovingly restoring them in an eco-friendly manner – and the process will unfold onscreen.

His plucky young son is on hand to cut the beloved movie star down to size whenever his ego begins to run away with him.

As Robert brags about being a ‘gearhead’ and a ‘grease monkey,’ Exton slyly turns to the camera and asks: ‘Are we sure he’s the right guy to be hosting this show?’

Robert takes the jabs with good humor, melting into laughter when his little pride and joy calls his compere abilities into question.

Near the start of the trailer he introduces his audience to his longtime love of old cars, particularly the ones made during his childhood.

‘The cars of the ’60s and ’70s just make your heart beat a little faster,’ he gushed. ‘As a red-blooded American boy, I wanted in.’ 

While his movie career got off to a turbulent start, derailed at one point by his addictions, he launched a galloping comeback and earned a fortune.

He has now ‘amassed a collection’ of cars, and as ‘an idea man,’ he has now ‘enlisted a team of folks to restore my cars in ways that are less harmful to the planet.’ 

Robert’s eco-friendly idea of restoration is to convert the cars into being either hybrid or possibly in some cases entirely electric. 

One of the professionals marvels that a particular vehicle is ‘almost too nice to mess with,’ but Robert is determined that he ‘can’t leave it alone.’

However before he gets carried away with his perception of his own expertise, little Exton arrives to bring him back to earth. 

As the pair sit down to oysters together, Robert begins using the food on the table to try and demonstrate the work he is having done.

Exton is not the only person to be unimpressed, as becomes clear when the Iron Man heartthrob sets off to buy a vintage car in person.

Despite the fact that any seller who sees a rich famous film star will be unwilling to come down on the price, Robert insists on effecting the transaction himself. 

After the meeting, the seller shoots a confessional where he is asked if he recognizes his prospective client and replies with a laugh: ‘Yes, Rodney.’ 

Robert, who shares Exton with his movie producer wife Susan, will see the premiere of his new show on HBO Max June 22. 

Robert De Niro‘s newborn seventh child has been seen for the first time, as doting mom Tiffany Chen went for  a walk with her baby in NYC on Wednesday.

The iconic actor, 79, shocked the world when he revealed he had ‘just had a baby’ in an interview earlier this week – after Tiffany, who is believed to be 45 – was seen with a baby bump in March.

The pair’s newborn child – who appeared to be less than a month old – was dressed in a pink onesie and swaddled in a white blanket as Tiffany lifted the baby out of a stroller.

Tiffany was also seen pushing a stroller with the couple’s baby in, as they soaked up the sun in the Big Apple. 

Tiffany was seen cradling the couple’s baby to her chest throughout the day as she reveled in new motherhood. 

And though the news of the actor expanding his brood may have been a surprise to fans, De Niro told Page Six at the event that he was not surprised to become a dad again and that the pregnancy with girlfriend Tiffany Chen was ‘planned.’ 

‘How you could not plan that kind of thing?’ he asked. De Niro also shared his feelings about becoming a father again. 

‘I’m ok with it,’ the actor told Extra when asked if he was excited. ‘I’m good with it.’ When asked if becoming a parent ever gets easier the Taxi Driver quipped, ‘Never gets easier.’ 

De Niro’s About My Father co-stars Sebastian Maniscalco and Kim Catrall were thrilled for the actor, with Sebastian telling Extra on the red carpet that he had no idea the actor was expecting another child.

‘I was informed today that he had the baby I didn’t know leading up to this that he was going to have a baby but uh yeah God bless him.’

‘He’s a very soft-spoken individual loves to spend time with his family and I’m happy for him,’ he added.

Meanwhile Kim sang Tiffany praises, ‘God bless him, his significant other. Tiffany is such a beautiful woman. She came to the set once with her family and watched filming, and she was gorgeous and sweet. I’m happy for both of them.’

 It comes after the actor announced the surprising new addition to his family, telling ET Canada: ‘I just had a baby.’ 

De Niro revealed his happy news in a new interview, after he was asked by a reporter what it was like to be a father of six children. That is when he said he did not have six, but rather seven children, then shared that he recently welcomed a new child into his life. 

He did not share the name of the baby or the gender. 

They were photographed holding hands in July 2021 and in March of this year she appeared pregnant when leaving Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.

His rep confirmed to DailyMail.com that De Niro did not make a mistake and that he does indeed have seven children.

Robert has two kids: Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46 with his ex wife Diahnne Abbott.

And he has two more children with Grace: Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11.

He is also a dad to twins Aaron and Julian, 27, with former girlfriend, Toukie Smith.
