If strolling down the Hollywood Walk of Fame is on your bucket list, it might be time to think again.

Because the popular hotspot running through the heart of Los Angeles has actually been ranked as the world’s worst tourist attraction.

Luggage storage network Stasher analyzed a whole host of factors to reveal which sights to steer clear of on your next vacation.

It included Google reviews, quality of local accommodation, distance from the nearest international airport, tourist safety and TikTok popularity to give each attraction an overall score out of ten.

And it turns out that the famous boulevard is far from alone in being underwhelming – as dozens of other attractions have also left visitors disappointed.

The Tate Modern in the UK, the Palace of Versailles in France and Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany were all among the worst-rated list.

Take a look below to explore the 15 hotspots which were the least satisfactory.

15. Forbidden City, China (5.41 out of 10)

Forbidden City is a sprawling imperial palace complex situated in the heart of Beijing.

It was commissioned in 1406 by an emperor of the Ming dynasty and so named because access to the area was barred to most of the subjects of the realm.

But despite its long history – it seems that it leaves much to the imagination.

Among the Google reviews people wrote that tourists had ‘expected more’ after being left ‘extremely disappointed with how boring the inside of the place was.’

And another simply branded it as ‘repetitive and expensive.’

14. Magic Kingdom Park, USA (5.41 out of 10)

The Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Florida, is one of the most visited amusement parks in the world – with more than 17 million people attending in 2022.

The theme park consists of classic attractions, enchanting fireworks, musical parades and a whole host of Disney characters.

But it seems that many visitors to ‘the land where fantasy reigns’ were actually left in disbelief.

The recurring issues were around price and cost with one Google review summarizing most of the complaints in one, writing: ‘Terrible, overcrowded, there is not even space where to sit to eat.

‘It is not possible to ride anything because of the lanes. Just a terrible day.’

13. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USA (5.39 out of 10)

The world-renowned Great Smoky Mountains National Park straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee.

Its official website states that it is America’s most visited national park thanks to the ‘diversity of plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, and the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture.’

But not everyone agrees.

A recent visitor passionately argued: ‘Don’t waste your time…  I’m a huge supporter if our parks but this is the WORST national or state park we’ve ever visited.’

Another branded it ‘an absolute travesty’ and added: ‘You cannot find a more poorly operated national park in the US.’

12. PortAventura World, Spain (5.37 out of 10)

PortAventura World, which consists of ‘six worlds in a single destination,’ claims to have been the first theme park in Spain.

It currently boasts more than 40 rides and five kilometers of rollercoaster track.

Yet, one user wrote: ‘We came here to have fun and a relaxed time but it is not fun at all.’

Elaborating further as to why, she slammed the staff as ‘impolite and unfriendly’ and claimed it ‘smelt like a sewer’ before criticizing the queuing system and adding that it was ‘strewn with litter.’

Another simply labeled it an ‘endless disappointment.’

11. Pier 39, USA (5.27 out of 10)

Located in San Francisco, the iconic Pier 39 is a 45-acre waterfront complex lined with restaurants, shops and independent attractions.

It also offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge and Alcatraz.

But it seems that is still not enough for some.

Pier 39 has been branded as ‘a big disappointment’ with one Google reviewer elaborating further: ‘It has become so dirty and smelly over the years.’

Others also criticized the place as a whole, writing: ‘San Francisco is no more a safe place to live or visit or tour.’

10. Everland, South Korea (5.17 out of 10)

Korea’s largest theme park, Everland, welcomed its first visitors in 1976 and continues to draw in the crowds.

It is split into five individually-themed zones – namely Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, European Adventure and Zootopia.

Yet, it seems that it is still not enough to meet everyone’s needs.

Visitors took to review forums in their droves to argue that it was ‘too old’ and ‘disappointing’ with ‘too many people.’

Someone else stated that despite the big build-up, ‘generally, the attractions are lousy.’

9. Great Wall of China, China (5.05 out of 10)

The Great Wall of China is one of the largest building-construction projects ever undertaken – with the total length of all sections ever built adding up to about 21,196 kilometers.

It actually consists of numerous walls that were built over some two millennia across northern China and southern Mongolia.

And, despite the feat, some visitors were less than impressed.

One tourist wrote: ‘There were throngs of people pushing and shoving to buy tickets and the huge queues to get on the wall itself.’

Issuing a warning to others, another added: ‘Expect to spend a few hours in the heat among thousands while standing.’

8. Fushimi Inari Taisha, Japan (5.04 out of 10)

The Fushimi Inari Shrine, which has ancient origins, is the most important of several thousands of shrines dedicated to Inari – the Shinto god of rice.

Most foreign tourists primarily visit to explore the surrounding mountain trails – but the building itself is also incredibly attractive.

But not everyone could see the beauty as one user claimed that it was a ‘joke,’ adding: ‘Not a serious place by a mile.’

Another added: ‘We didn’t spend long here as it was like sardines and crammed with tourists.’

And a third, referencing the approach via stairs, said it was ‘a miserable slog to nothing’ and ‘poorly designed.’

Ocean Park has been billed as a ‘must-see destination for nature lovers and inquisitive minds’ as well as being a go-to for thrill-seekers.

The site, which is praised for its immense and diverse attractions, opened in 1977 and has been delighting almost all visitors ever since.

But there are some that have been left wanting more.

One family who visited earlier this year wrote a review to brand it: ‘The biggest disappointment during our Hong Kong trip.’

And another summed it up by simply saying it was ‘absolute sh*t.’

6. Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong (4.89 out of 10)

The city façade Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, often considered to be the birthplace of the city itself, has become one of the most recognizable skylines in the world.

The surrounding area is bustling with hotels, retail shops and commercial offices in a busy neighborhood that never sleeps.

But, with the Pearl of the Orient welcoming 55 million visitors to its shores every year, it seems impossible to keep them all happy.

One such disgruntled visitor wrote: ‘Please don’t even bother. There is nothing here.’

Another added that they were ‘not certain why people would come to view this’ before a third candidly said: ‘Went around in circles. Not much to see.’

5. Lotte World, South Korea (4.80 out of 10)

Lotte World is a major recreation complex in Seoul, South Korea, and is home to the world’s largest indoor theme park – as well as a mall and aquarium.

Having open in 1989, it has been a staple for locals and tourists alike for decades – but not everyone is convinced.

One recent reviewer wrote: ‘This has to be one of the worst theme parks I have ever visited. It is overcrowded. There is nowhere near enough rides with capacity for the amount of people they cram into this place.

‘The rides are pretty poor and none of them have less than an hours wait unless you are there at rope drop.’

And someone else simply said: ‘I had never seen so many people in such a tiny park.’

Despite there being a staggering 12,000 animals, one wrote: ‘Absolutely waste of time do not visit save your money.

‘The place is dirty and full of attitude from the catering staff. Animal enclosures are disgraceful.’

It seemed as though they had more to say, but concluded: ‘Don’t really want to waste anymore of my time reviewing the sh**hole.’

And others agreed, urging tourists to ‘do something else with your vacation.’

3. Taj Mahal, India (3.83 out of 10)

The Taj Mahal is widely considered one of the most beautiful buildings ever erected.

The immense mausoleum of white marble was built in Agra, India, between 1631 and 1648.

It was commissioned by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife whom he dubbed Mumtaz Mahal or ‘Chosen One of the Palace.’

However, even the love story was not sweet enough for some, as one visitor wrote: ‘The Taj is a bit cliché, once you have seen the photos there is nothing really extra to see.’

One particularly unhappy visitor branded it as ‘a lifeless celebration of death’ with the experience only being ‘exacerbated by the hagglers who will haunt you like hyenas every step of the way.’

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey, is one of the world’s oldest covered markets, having been running during the Ottoman Empire as the marketplace of jewelry and precious hand-woven textiles.

And the impressive legacy continues today as it is now home to more than four thousand sellers.

However, it still ranked as second worst tourist hotspot in the world following the analysis – losing several points for tourist safety – and the reviews also gave an added insight.

One states: ‘I have to be completely honest. I was really looking forward to seeing this place and I was really let down. I thought the variation of things was poor and more importantly the attitude of the sellers just annoyed me. I don’t think I’d ever bother going back again.’

And another reads: ‘Full of fake goods. Nothing has price displayed. Sellers aggressive/pestering to the point of being rude.’

1. Hollywood Walk of Fame, USA (3.42 out of 10)

Topping the list of least popular landmarks from around the world was the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

There are more than 2,700 plaques lining the sidewalk on the boulevard to commemorate some of the biggest names in the industry.

Yet, even still, most visitors branded it as ‘average’ on various review sites.

Giving specific details about its perceived flaws, one tourist appeared to sum up the situation with a review that read: ‘This is grim. It’s just a lot of grubby stars on a pavement.

‘The area is awful, with aggressive street sellers, and others half dressed with trousers around their knees, shouting and swearing at passers by. Famous stars are surrounded by mobile burger stands. Save your time and give this a miss.’

  • Group sales increased 46% to £36.7m for the six months to 30 June
  • UK revenues increased 28% to £13.3m over the same time period

Warpaint London revealed record sales and profits in its interim results with the group believing it is ‘very well positioned for further growth’.

The company’s group sales increased by 46 per cent to £36.7million for the six months to 30 June, with UK revenue increasing by 28 per cent to £13.3million.

The firm’s adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation increased to £7.9million, up from £4.4million.

The company’s group sales increased by 46 per cent to £36.7million for the six months to 30 June, with UK revenue increasing by 28 per cent to £13.3million

The cosmetics company said that statutory profit from operations had increased to £6.3 million, up from £3.5 million.

It also revealed that its W7 brand sales were up by 67 per cent and Technic brand sales over the same time period.

Sam Bazini, chief executive of Warpaint, said: ‘I believe the group is very well positioned to achieve further growth and I remain confident that margins can be maintained going forward.

‘Warpaint is a global business with the capacity, expertise and strategy, coupled with balance sheet strength, to drive future growth from both our existing and new customers.

‘As in previous years, the group’s sales are expected to remain second half weighted, reflecting Christmas seasonal sales as well as ongoing momentum.

‘We look forward to updating further as the year progresses, and with significant opportunities for continued growth, both already secured with our existing retailers and in discussion with additional major retailers globally, I am confident that the group will continue to perform well for the remainder of the year and beyond.’

Founded by Eoin Macleod and Samuel Bazini three decades ago, Warpaint’s initial business model involved purchasing and selling surplus stock from top brands such as Revlon and Max Factor to high-street firms, wholesalers and discounters.

In 2002, the company launched W7, which now provides over half of all revenues and is popular among younger people with smaller budgets.

Its other brands include Man’stuff, Chit Chat and Retra Holdings, a make-up gift business acquired by the group in November 2017 for £18.2million.

Warpaint shares were down by 0.68 per cent to 300.45p in morning trading on Wednesday.

Premier League: Opta’s AI supercomputer names its week two results predictions: Man United look set to lose at Tottenham… and only one team has a worse chance than Newcastle!

The Opta AI supercomputer has revealed its results predictions for the Premier League’s second game week, with Liverpool given the best chance of securing three points as they take on Bournemouth at home.

The same fixture last season saw the Reds win 9-0, effectively ending Scott Parker’s time at the Cherries, and Opta hasn’t given them much hope this year with just a 7.6 per cent chance of winning, while Liverpool’s chances are up at 75.8 per cent.

Arsenal are the away team with the best hopes as the computer gives them a 45.2 per cent chance of taking three points from Crystal Palace, who are the least fancied home side with a 26.3 per cent chance of winning.

The Gunners have won four of their last five meetings in the league and beat Palace 4-1 in their last meeting in March.

Opta is also backing Tottenham to pick up their first win of the season at home to Manchester United, while Newcastle are the second least fancied side with an 11.1 per cent  prediction on their winning at the Etihad.

Eddie Howe’s men may have made it into the Champions League last season but the computer still heavily backs Man City  (69 per cent) to pull off a home victory.

The reverse fixture at the start of last season was a thriller, with Newcastle taking a 3-1 lead before City snatched a point.

Despite being trounced 5-1 by the Magpies in their opening game, Aston Villa are given a respectable (45.9 per cent) chance of winning at home to Everton, who failed to score in their season opener against Fulham despite having 19 shots at goal.

Nottingham Forest are given the best chance of a draw in their home clash with Sheffield United (30.4 per cent), while Brighton are surprisingly close behind (30.2 per cent) ahead of their trip to Wolves.

Fulham’s clash with Brentford is predicted to be one of the more even games this weekend, with a home win (35.7 per cent), draw (29.4 per cent) and away win (34.9 per cent) all given relatively even chances.

The computer also seems unsure about how to call Chelsea’s visit to West Ham with just a 7.2 per cent gap between the three results.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were impressive as they drew 1-1 with Liverpool in their first game of the season, and will be boosted by Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo’s arrivals at the club.

The Hammers begun their season with a hard-fought draw at Bournemouth, and will be hoping for a more convincing result in their first home game of 2023/24.

US midterm elections 2022: Arizona still has 400,000 votes to count in its largest county, Nevada could not be called until TOMORROW as Georgia runoff is confirmed and counting drags on

The midterm election results were not the ‘red tsunami’ the Republicans were hoping for as President Joe Biden takes credit for Democrat hold outs – and control of Congress is still up in the air.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives were up for grabs Tuesday night, as were 34 of the 50 Senate seats and 36 governorships – in addition to a myriad of state and local roles.

The crucial Nevada Senate race is close as more votes have come through, while Arizona is counting through the night and Wisconsin is too close to call.

In Colorado, Trump loyalist Lauren Boebert faced a nail-biting race to keep her House seat.

Democrats have largely focused their campaigns on outrage over the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade and subsequent Republican-led efforts to curb abortion access.

They’ve also ramped up warnings in the closing weeks that a GOP majority could pose a threat to democracy, given Donald Trump and his allies’ efforts to upend his 2020 election loss.

Republicans, meanwhile, have focused their campaigns on kitchen table issues such as the economy, inflation and rising crime rates. A growing number of Americans are discontent with the state of their pocketbooks, and the GOP has tied that to Biden and Democrats’ policies over the last two years.

Follow along with DailyMail.com’s live blog coverage of how last night’s races play out.

Braemar shares to be suspended as investigation forces shipbroker to delay publication of annual results

  • Ongoing probe into transaction of around $3m (£2.4million) dating back to 2013
  • Board ‘not comfortable’ with how it ‘has been historically represented’
  • Shares in Braemar will be suspended from next Monday, 3 July

Braemar shares will be suspended next week after the shipbroker revealed an ongoing investigation will force it to delay the publication of its annual results.

The London-based company has been carrying out an investigation into a transaction of around $3million (£2.4million) dating back to 2013 and involving payments made through to 2017.

It said the board ‘is not presently comfortable’ with how ‘the transaction has been historically represented and the remaining liability recorded in the company’s balance sheet’.

Results delay: Braemar said it won't be able to publish its results on time due to a probe

Results delay: Braemar said it won’t be able to publish its results on time due to a probe

The company has appointed the London-based specialist firm FRP Advisory to assist with the investigation, and has established a specific investigation committee chaired by its non-executive chair to oversee this.

Braemar said it is unlikely that it will be able to publish its annual results by the end of June due to the ongoing investigation, breaching the Financial Conduct Authority’s disclosure guidance and transparency rules.

‘As the company does not expect to be able to comply with this requirement, the group will request that trading in the company’s ordinary shares be suspended with effect from 7.30am on 3 July 2023,’ it told shareholders.

Braemar shares dropped 17 per cent to 231p in afternoon trading on Monday. The stock has lost around 11 per cent of its value over the last year.

However, Braemar also said it does not expect the probe’s findings to affect its results for the year that ended on 28 February.

The group is still eying record revenue ‘of not less’ than £150million and an underlying operating profit of not less than £20million, nearly double the £10.1million it made in 2022.

In recent years Braemar has been selling off its non-core divisions to focus on helping ship-owners and their customers to transport goods around the world.

Cargo includes oil and gas, heavy metals, wheat, grain and logs, all essential commodities in demand across the globe.

Revolution Beauty’s delayed half-year results show losses plunge following recovery in store sales

  • Revolution Beauty posted a £13.4m loss for the six months ending August 2022
  • Loosened pandemic restrictions led to a rebound in bricks-and-mortar sales
  • Trading of the company’s shares has been suspended since last September

Embattled retailer Revolution Beauty saw losses more than halved in the first half of last year as store purchases largely offset a slide in online trade.

In results significantly delayed by auditing problems, the firm posted a £13.4million loss for the six months ending August 2022, down from £28.9million the prior year.

Loosened pandemic restrictions produced a resurgence in sales at brick-and-mortar outlets, with a further boost provided by new distribution deals with pharmacy giants Boots and Walgreens.

This failed to prevent total turnover from declining by 4.2 per cent as the return of physical stores left digital customers carrying excess stock.

Yet the company incurred a much smaller stock provision charge during the period, while it also benefited from an absence of initial public offering fees and reduced finance costs after debts from the listing were paid down.

Revolution Beauty went public on the junior AIM market in the summer of 2021 with a market capitalisation of almost £500million following a pandemic-induced boom in orders and massive growth in the US.

Since then, sales have struggled amid a global cost-of-living crisis partly caused by the Ukraine war and a slowdown across the e-commerce sector.

However, problems took a major turn for the worse when auditors raised accounting issues about the Kent-based firm’s 2022 financial results last summer, and trading of its shares on the AIM index was suspended.

An investigation found that Revolution Beauty had overstated its sales by £9million and that former chief executive Adam Minto and co-founder Tom Allsworth took out £1million in loans without the board’s knowledge.

Allsworth resigned as chairman last week the day before the group finally published its 2022 results, which showed losses escalated from £17.8million a year earlier to £44.9million.

Minto resigned soon after the probe was launched and was replaced by Bob Holt OBE, the former executive chairman of social housing energy services provider Sureserve.

On Friday, Holt said the release of the interim results was an ‘important step’ towards ending the suspension of the company’s shares.

He added that the company’s performance since last September proved it had a ‘highly relevant and attractive customer offer, providing consumers with quality products at the right price.

‘This, combined with the strength of our customer partnerships and global retailer strategy, underpins our confidence.’

Revolution Beauty expects to report revenue rose by a low single-digit percentage figure, alongside a slight underlying earnings loss for the 2023 financial year.

Founded in 2014, the company’s hair, skincare and makeup products are all vegan-friendly and can be bought from multiple prominent retailers like ASOS and Superdrug, as well as Target in the United States.
