Seeing the Northern Lights is something that features on many people’s bucket lists.

And if you’re lucky, you could tick it off your list tonight.

A photographer couldn’t believe his luck when he snapped spectacular photos of the aurora from Cornwall last night.

Ross Jennings, a photographer from Camborne, posted the photos on his Facebook page, writing: ‘These Pillars really flared up for about 10 minutes… and I’m pretty sure it’s the strongest I’ve ever seen them.’

If you missed them, there’s good news, as the Met Office says there’s a chance the stunning display will be out again tonight.

Where to see Northern Lights tonight

If you missed last night’s display, the good news is that the Met Office says there’s a chance it will be visible for many Britons again tonight.

‘A minor enhancement to the auroral oval is likely in the coming days, most notably on 14-15 Sep,’ the Met Office explained.

‘Aurora may become visible to the naked eye along the northern horizon from Scotland (where skies are clear) and perhaps briefly Northern Ireland and Northern England.

‘Activity likely subsiding from 16 Sep.’

Mr Jennings was alerted to the Northern Lights ‘last minute’, and quickly headed out at around midnight to Hells Mouth Coastal Walk to try to snap them.

‘After catching an Aurora alert at the last minute, full of snot and freezing cold I headed out to the North Cliffs,’ he posted on his Facebook page.

‘And it didn’t disappoint…’

His stunning photos show the magical pink, yellow and blue lights in the night sky, while the waves lapped the shore below him.

Several viewers expressed their delight at the images, with one calling the photos ‘absolutely gorgeous’, and another adding that his early start was ‘so worth it.’

While auroras are best seen at night, they’re actually caused by the Sun.

Solar storms on the sun’s surface give out huge clouds of electrically charged particles, with some travelling millions of miles to eventually collide with Earth.

While most particles are deflected away, some are captured in the Earth’s magnetic field, accelerating down towards the north and south poles into the atmosphere.

‘These particles then slam into atoms and molecules in the Earth’s atmosphere and essentially heat them up,’ said Tom Kerss, an astronomer at the Royal Observatory.

‘We call this physical process “excitation”, but it’s very much like heating a gas and making it glow.’

Here on Earth, what we are seeing are atoms and molecules in our atmosphere colliding with particles from the Sun.

The aurora’s characteristic wavy patterns and ‘curtains’ of light are caused by the lines of force in the Earth’s magnetic field.

WHAT ARE AURORAS AND WHAT TRIGGERS THE STUNNING NATURAL DISPLAYS?

The Northern and Southern Lights are natural light spectacles triggered in our atmosphere that are also known as the ‘Auroras’.

There are two types of Aurora – Aurora Borealis, which means ‘dawn of the north’, and Aurora Australis, ‘dawn of the south.’

The displays light up when electrically charged particles from the sun enter the Earth’s atmosphere.

Usually the particles, sometimes referred to as a solar storm, are deflected by Earth’s magnetic field.

But during stronger storms they enter the atmosphere and collide with gas particles, including hydrogen and helium.

These collisions emit light. Auroral displays appear in many colours although pale green and pink are common.

The Department of Defense has unveiled a new website that will provide official declassified information on UFOs – about a month after a prominent UFO whistleblower delivered bombshell testimony before Congress.

Still under construction, the web page will offer pictures and videos for the public to easily peruse once completed, with several already online just hours after its release.

Its existence was announced Thursday during a briefing from Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder, weeks after former intelligence official David Grusch claimed the Pentagon is covering up evidence related to extraterrestrials.

Other information the will soon be available, the general said, includes reports and frequently asked questions about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), as well as links to reports, transcripts, and other resources that’s been declassified.

In a Thursday statement about the website, federal officials said the release shows how ‘committed’ the Defense Department is to ‘transparency with the American people’ about their work on UAPs – the government’s term for UFOs.

‘This website will serve as a one-stop shop for all publicly available information related to the Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and UAP,’ the release reads,

Defense officials said the ‘AARO will regularly update the website with its most recent activities and findings as new information is cleared for public release.’

The new site can be accessed via the domain aaro.mil - where users will be able to also find links to other available government aircraft, balloon, and satellite tracking sites

The new site can be accessed via the domain aaro.mil, the department added – where users will be able to also find links to other available government aircraft, balloon, and satellite tracking sites.

Its release comes as the government has been forced to take the presence of unknown flying objects more seriously in recent months, especially after Grusch in July testified under oath that the Pentagon had firsthand encounters or knowledge about secret government programs involving technology that is ‘non-human.’

‘My testimony is based on information I’ve been given by individuals with a long-standing track record of legitimacy… whom have shared compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation and classified oral testimony to myself and many various colleagues,’ Grusch said, adding that he was driven to share by a ‘commitment to truth and transparency.’

‘I am asking Congress to hold our government to this standard and thoroughly investigate these claims,’ he told lawmakers at the time. ‘But as I stand here under oath now, I am speaking to the facts as I have been told them.’

He told the committee that he and more than 30 aircrew members and veterans have experienced UAPs, unidentified aerial phenomena, along with members of Congress who have confided in him.

He also claimed the government currently has in their possession, ‘intact and partially intact’ extraterrestrial vehicles, though provided no evidence to support that or any of his other assertions.

Still under construction, the web page will offer pictures and videos for the public to easily peruse through once completed, with several like this one from the Navy in 2021 already online just hours after its release

Grusch – a former high-ranking intelligence official – in July testified under oath that they know firsthand about secret programs involving technology far surpassing the US’ capabilities

Suggesting the American people for nearly a century have been left in the dark, he claimed the first recovery of a UFO was in Magenta, Italy, in 1933.

He said Mussolini’s Italian government held it until 1944 through 1945 when Pope Pius XII tipped America off about it.

When asked if he firmly believes the government has possession of UAPs, Grusch responded, ‘absolutely.’

He said that is based on interviews with at least 40 witnesses.

Asked where the craft are, he said: ‘I know the exact locations and those locations were provided to the inspector general … I actually had the people with the firsthand knowledge provide a protected disclosure to the Inspector General.’

He further claimed he has faced brutal retaliation after coming forward about his firsthand accounts of UFOs.

‘I do have knowledge of active planned reprisal activity against myself and other colleagues,’ Grusch said.

‘There were certain colleagues of mine that were brutally administratively attacked. It makes me very upset as a leader to see that happen to other co-workers and superiors of mine in the last three years.’

Retired Navy Cmdr. Fravor, meanwhile, recalled his experience seeing what he described as a ‘Tic Tac-looking object’ while on a flight in 2004, during a routine mission with aircraft carrier USS Nimitz off the California coast. He said he told superiors but it was never investigated

He was among three military whistleblowers who testified under oath in July that they had firsthand encounters or knowledge about secret government programs involving technology that is ‘non-human.’

His remarks, however, were condemned, by the head of the Pentagon’s UFO office, Sean Kirkpatrick, who slammed Grusch’s claims about alleged secret programs that retrieve crashed UFOs and reverse engineer the technology as ‘insulting’

Grusch alluded to both programs in his statements, which were there bolstered by testimonies Navy Commander and veteran fighter pilot David Fravor and Ryan Graves, also a former pilot.

Graves said, as an F-18 pilot in the Red Rippers, their squadron was ‘split by UAP’ during a training mission near Virginia Beach in 2014.

He described the object as ‘dark gray or black inside a transparent sphere.’ It was about 15 feet in diameter and came within 50 feet of the lead aircraft.

Retired Navy Cmdr. Fravor, meanwhile recalled  his experience seeing what he described as a ‘Tic Tac-looking object’ while on a flight back in 2004, during a routine training mission with the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz off the California coast.

The object was ‘far superior to anything we had at the time, have today or are looking to develop in the next 10-plus years,’ Fravor said in his statement.

When asked whether the U.S. has been concealing evidence of non-human aircraft. The commander of the F/A-18F squadron on the USS Nimitz said he spotted the object and later told his superiors, but that there was never any official investigation

When asked if any reporting took place after the incident, Fravor said there was just a standard debrief, but no more.

All three men were sworn in and made their assertions under oath, with Grusch openly testifying that he knows colleagues who were injured while reverse-engineering UFO tech.

He further accused the government of ‘absolutely’ hording UFO tech and ‘biologics’ of ‘non-human origins’ since the 30s, and claimed to known the exact locations where they’re being held.

He added that he would be willing provide specifics in a classified setting.

The testimonies the way for six members of Congress – Reps. Tim Burchett, (R-Tenn.), Jared Moskowitz, (D-Fla.), Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) and Andy Ogles (R-Tenn) – to pen a letter to Inspector General Thomas Monheim this past week demanding details about alleged secret programs.

Within six days, the DoD unveiled its new website, which, while unfinished, already has several videos showing UFO-involved cases over the years, with real-time UAP reporting soon to come.

The site can be accessed here

Next she shared a snap of herself and Ocean at the beach with the Give Them Lala author wearing a bandeau top and jeans and her toddler in a red and white hibiscus print outfit.

The next video clip is of Lala patiently trying to explain to her daughter that, yes, her name is Lala but she’s also ‘Mama.’

Ocean says: ‘You’re Lala and Mama,’ as she snacks on a piece of fruit, adding: ‘Its so funny.’

The next image is an adorable photo of Ocean in a hot pink onesie sitting on the floor in front of an array of colorful building blocks.

The podcast host also shared a photo of herself snuggling with her daughter. They are both wearing tank tops and the little girl’s nose is scrunched up adorably.

The final video in the post shows Lala giving Ocean swimming lessons in the pool of their apartment complex.

The video starts off with the toddler swimming a short distance away from her mother towards the edge of the pool.

Ocean walked around the pool lounger to stand on the edge of the pool. Her mother encouraged her to jump in and swim to her.

She looked darling as she motioned for her mother to come closer to her so that she would feel safer.

Once Lala was an acceptable distance away, Ocean jumped in and swam the short distance on her own.

The final photo in the post shows the cute little girl in leopard print pajamas. She is smiling as she shows off her blue manicure.

She captioned the series of snaps and videos: ‘A little bit of life lately. I brought my bum out for the @valleybrat.la party.’

Earlier in the day, Lala dropped the latest episode of her podcast and shared her thoughts of Bethenny Frankel’s controversial interview with VPR’s Raquel Leviss.

First, she branded Leviss’ decision to quit the show following her affair with Tom Sandoval a ‘travesty’ and accused Frankel of manipulating and ‘exploiting’ the star.

She said: ‘It is a travesty that she didn’t end up coming back. She should have come back. I think she would have been very surprised. And instead she went and did this [podcast with Bethenny] and she was manipulated yet again.

‘There were things that she was then saying that were not perspective. It was a flat out lie and I can’t imagine you believe what you are saying.’

She blasted Leviss’ claim she was called  ‘reality TV ratings gold’ by herself Katie Maloney and Kristina Kelly, saying: ‘That never happened. Raquel that night after she said, “It’s a good thing you don’t have a man,” went to her bedroom.

‘She went to sleep and the next morning when she comes into our room and feels embarrassed is the first time we had seen her. There was no we came into her room and told her she was reality TV ratings gold. This never happened and this isn’t perspective. This is fact. No one every said this to you.

Discussing the controversial podcast, she said: ‘I saw this all the time that there are going to be moments where our voice is all we have. We have all been able to go on a platform — whether it is our own or someone else’s — to share our side of any story.

‘Raquel absolutely has that right and I am happy that she finally got to take advantage of a giant platform to tell her story. I only saw clips and what I gathered from it is Bethenny completely exploited that girl yet again.’

Slamming Leviss for sleeping with Sandoval behind Ariana Madix’s back, she said: ‘I don’t think that reality TV is for everyone. It is a very intense environment. If you are not mentally tough as f**k, it can break you. It definitely can.

‘Now to say that Raquel was a victim of something, I don’t know. What I do know is you made a decision to sleep with your best friend’s partner of 10 years.

‘You didn’t need to do that. No one was forcing you to do it and no one asked you to do that. It felt like Bethenny was really trying to push her in a certain direction.’

Apple has sprinkled features into its iPhone to help anyone capture great photos.

But a little-known setting could be why your snaps are not living up to the hype.

Tucked away in the Camera app is a setting called Prioritize Faster Shooting, which is great for bursts of photos but diminishes the quality of other images.

The feature is activated by default but can be turned off by going to Settings, Camera and then scrolling down the list of options.

Apple has sprinkled features into its iPhone to help anyone capture great photos. But a little-known setting could be why your snaps are not living up to the hype

On iPhone X, iPhone XR and later, the Prioritize Faster Shooting setting modifies how images are processed—allowing you to capture more photos when you rapidly tap the Shutter button.

The option is also only available on devices with iOS 13.

Prioritize Faster Shooting will sacrifice the quality of photos for speed – and usually end up with more blurry images.

Apple is just weeks away from launching its new iPhone 15, which is rumored to have better camera tech.

A 2022 report revealed that 90 percent of people who have taken photos have only done so with a smartphone.

This means camera quality is at the top of the list, and Apple is well aware.

The feature is activated by default but can be turned off by going to Settings, Camera and then scrolling down the list of options

DailyMail.com spoke with industry expert Dan Ives with Wedbush Securities about the upcoming smartphone.

‘We’ve heard there is a 20 to 30 percent improvement than the iPhone 14,’ Ives said.

‘This will likely include megapixels and other capabilities around photos that are not even imaginable with the iPhone 14.’

The iPhone 15 is expected to feature the same dual-sensor camera setup but could also feature the 48MP main sensor included in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max.

These predictions were made by analyst Jeff Pu, who is also a leading Apple expert and viewed by MacRumors in a research note.

And the iPhone 15 Pro could have the long-rumored periscope instead.

This periscope camera made headway in 2020 after MacRumors saw another research note from renowned Apple product predictor and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Periscope lenses use mirrors to provide a much greater optical zoom.

If you’ve had your X (formerly Twitter) account for more than nine years, you might want to check on your old tweets.

Users have noticed that photos and links posted to the platform before December 2014 have been taken out and replaced by dead URLs.

A famous example is the Oscars selfie posted by Ellen DeGeneres in March 2014, which vanished from her tweet, although it has since reappeared.

It’s unclear if it’s an accident due to a technical trouble at X or a deliberate cost-cutting exercise to ease the demand of company servers.

Musk is yet to address the issue, although he admitted in a post on Saturday that X ‘may fail’ – shortly after saying he’ll remove the block feature

Elon Musk has been slammed for 'more vandalism' of X, formerly known as Twitter, although it may be just temporary technical trouble

If you’ve only joined X in the last 8.5 years, this fresh issue won’t affect you.

But if you’ve been a long-time user and have posted tweets of your treasured photos, it might be worth checking if they’re still there.

To search for your own tweets from before December 2014, type into the Twitter search bar the following: ‘From:[your username] until:2014-01-01’.

By doing this, MailOnline found that some images were still appearing in tweets from before December 2014, but took screenshots in case their days are numbered.

It’s also worth downloading your Twitter archive, which lets you save tweets and all the media within them.

X’s newest problem affects posts containing images but also any hyperlinks converted through Twitter’s built-in URL shortener (t.co), according to the Verge

Tweets themselves are displaying, but it’s the content within them that’s having problems being displayed properly.

Download your Twitter archive

  1. Under Twitter Settings, select ‘Your Account’ and ‘Download an archive of your data’
  2. Enter your password, click confirm and verify your identity with a one-time code
  3. Click ‘Request data’ and you’ll be sent an email to download a .zip file of your Twitter archive

Content appears as URLs, but these can’t be clicked on, and copying and pasting them into another search bar only takes you back to the original tweet.

X user Tom Coates, who detailed the issue in a string of posts, called it ‘more vandalism’ from the Twitter owner and ‘another cost-saving exercise’.

‘Twitter has now removed all media posted before 2014,’ he said.

‘That’s – so far – almost a decade of pictures and videos from the early 2000s removed from the service.

‘Every image and video removed and replaced with a dead link.’

In a message tacked on below Coates’ first post, X said the missing images ‘are still saved on Twitter/X’s servers’ but that the links are broken ‘at the moment’.

Regardless of this, Coates pointed out that the images ‘are still effectively deleted from the public internet’.

It’s unclear if Musk’s team is planning to restore the images to the tweets; MailOnline has contacted the firm for more information.

It’s possible it’s just more temporary technical trouble from the firm, which has experienced outages thought to be due to tweaks to the site by developers.

Outages have been a fixture ever since Musk began running Twitter, leading to speculation that there aren’t enough staff to fix its problems.

It comes as the billionaire owner admitted in a surprisingly honest message at the weekend that X ‘may fail’.

On Saturday he posted: The sad truth is that there are no great “social networks” right now.

‘We may fail, as so many have predicted, but we will try our best to make there be at least one.’

Musk recently caused a backlash by stating his intention to remove the ability to ‘block’ other users across X, excluding private direct messages.

If enforced, it could means users have to contend with more harassment and the consequences of more unregulated free speech.

While it remains unclear if Musk will follow through on disabling the block feature, many users on the platform pleaded with the billionaire to reconsider.

‘Block is a critical peace of mind issue for many people because it generally gets the cyber stalkers to move on,’ one X user said.

Musk took over Twitter in October and has just changed its name to X as part of plans to turn it into what he’s described as an ‘everything’ app

A shiny ‘X’ logo was installed at the platform’s headquarters in San Francisco before being removed due to complaints from local residents.

Timeline of Elon Musk’s eventful time at Twitter so far

October 27: Musk is officially made the new owner of Twitter, and tweets ‘the bird is freed’.

November 1: Musk confirms plans to change the system of ‘Blue Tick’ verification on Twitter, for a reduced subscription fee of $8 a month.

November 4: Musk lays off half of Twitter’s workforce as an alleged cost-cutting measure, claiming he had ‘no choice’.

November 9: Musk launches the ‘Twitter Blue’ subscription service which verifies accounts for a monthly fee.

November 11: The Twitter Blue service is paused due to accounts purchasing verification and using it to impersonate brands and public figures.

November 12: Musk fires 80 per cent of Twitter contractors without warning.

November 15: Musk fires employees that posted negatively about him on the business messaging app Slack. The lawsuit between Musk and Twitter is dismissed.

November 16:  Twitter staff are told they need to sign a pledge to be able to stay on in their roles where they would be ‘working long hours at high intensity’ or receive three months of severance pay, resulting in a mass exodus.

November 18: A news-ticker was projected onto Twitter HQ in San Francisco dubbing Musk as a ‘space Karen’, ‘mediocre manchild’ and ‘bankruptcy baby’.

November 23: A Twitter user reported that 5.4 million phone numbers and email addresses leaked on the dark web, before his account was suspended.

November 26: Financial Times revealed that 50 of the platform’s top 100 advertisers have paused their ads.

November 29:  Platformer reported that Twitter is in the process of reinstating around 62,000 banned accounts that each have more than 10,000 followers.

December 12: Twitter Blue is re-launched with new Blue Tick reviewing process.

January 11: Twitter starts automatically redirecting users to the ‘For You’ tab – its algorithmic feed of tweets – every time they open the app.

February 8: Twitter expands the character limit to 4,000 for Twitter Blue subscribers in the US. Shortly after, the site encounters technical difficulties.

February 12: Musk orders staff to revamp Twitter’s tweet promotion algorithm after his Super Bowl tweet didn’t get enough impressions.

February 15: Twitter announces it will remove SMS two-factor authentication (2FA) from the free version of Twitter – a decision a security expert labelled ‘absurd’ that will lead to ‘so many accounts hacked’.

February 25: Twitter reveals a fresh round of layoffs that brought its workforce down to under 2,000 – a sharp fall from the 7,500 employed when the billionaire first took over in October.

March 28: Musk announces it will stop people from voting in Twitter polls or having their tweets appear in the For You tab if they do not pay for Twitter Blue.

April 11: Musk gives an interview with the BBC at Twitter’s San Francisco HQ where he says he’s been sleeping on the floor of the company’s offices. Musk also accused the interviewer of lying because he couldn’t back up accusations about hate speech on the platform.

June 21: Musk says he is ‘up for a cage match’ fight with rival tech CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

July 1: Musk announces limits on how many tweets users can see per day – 600 for people who aren’t signed up for Twitter Blue, and 6,000 for Twitter Blue subscribers.

July: Twitter is rebranded to X – a recurring letter in Musk’s life and career.

When you look at photos of yourself, do you like what you see — or do you wish you knew how to look more like your best self?

Photo editing apps have come a long way since the dog ears filter made its appearance on Snapchat – but we all know natural is best.

So use our quick guide to make yourself instantly more photogenic:

Direct light can create harsh shadows that make your skin look bad. Never stand right under a light source (right). Instead, face a light source so it illuminates your features and draws attention to your eyes (left)

Direct light can create harsh shadows that make your skin look bad. Never stand right under a light source (right). Instead, face a light source so it illuminates your features and draws attention to your eyes (left)

Before we get to the basics, there are a few quirky techniques that will improve how you look on camera.

Forget ‘say cheese’ – words that end in an ‘uh’ sound can put your mouth into a more natural smile shape.

Try ‘data’, ‘yoga’ or ‘mocha’ next time someone is taking your photo. It’ll bring the corners of your mouth up naturally.

If that doesn’t work for you, try to think of something funny.

Fake it: A fake smile can look really strange. A fake laugh, though, almost always turns into a real one and you’ll end up with a true smile.

Another odd trick that works is pushing your tongue against the back of your teeth. This relaxes your face and slims your jawline.

Another bizarre method that works is taking advantage of a rainy day. The filtered light of a cloudy day is super flattering. Head outside to snap your new dating app pic.

Below, I go into detail about some of the fundamentals when it comes to being more photogenic.

Bye-bye, ‘turkey neck’

It’s not just you. Cameras exaggerate certain features and give you a different appearance than what you see in the mirror. You need to be strategic when you pose.

Think about what is closest and farthest from the camera. Say you put your foot out and lean back: Your foot will look larger since it’s closer to the camera.

You can use this know-how to your advantage. To minimize neck fat and extra skin, jut your head forward slightly so it’s closer to the camera.

At the same time, elongate your neck and tip your chin down a little bit. Imagine holding a piece of fruit between your chin and neck.

In person, it looks a little weird. On camera, it looks great. If you feel silly, practice with your front-facing camera. You can delete the pictures.

Let there be light

Bad lighting can make even the best-looking person resemble a villain in a horror movie. Here are a few simple rules of thumb to remember.

● Direct light can create harsh shadows that make your skin look bad. Never stand right under a light source.

● Find soft, natural light instead whenever possible. It hides blemishes and smooths out imperfections.

● Face a light source so it illuminates your features and draws attention to your eyes. If there’s a light fixture nearby, point your eyes toward it and widen them just a bit.

● If you’re outside, face the sun to take advantage of the natural light.

● If the bright sun is casting dark shadows or causing you to squint, turn away or find a patch of shade.

Bonus tech tip: You’re on a video call and your room is too dark, so you look shadowy. Open up a new blank document in your browser or with your word processing program. Make it fill as much of the screen as you can. The reflection will brighten you up.

Find your best angle

Taking a photo of your face with the camera below you is very rarely unflattering. So, how do you determine the best angle for you?

Instagram influencer Vi Luong says you should take a series of nine selfies from different angles.

Hold your smartphone and look at it head-on. Then, take three pictures: One with the camera right in front of your face, one above and one below.

Taking a photo of your face with the camera below you is very rarely unflattering.

Taking a photo of your face with the camera below you is very rarely unflattering.

Now it’s time to angle your face. Turn to the right for the following three pictures and keep your head still.

Now, take one photo of yourself with the camera at face level, one where the camera is high, and one is lower.

Then tilt your face to the left. Keep your head still and snap three pictures (face level, above and below) at this new angle.

It’s a lot of pictures, but it’s worth it. Once you get these nine options, compare them to see which angle suits you best. Ask a friend or family member you trust if you can’t decide.

Make full-body pics better, too

Standing straight toward the camera isn’t flattering. Instead of facing the camera with your feet planted under your hips, slightly tilt your body to one side. Angle your torso away from the camera to look slimmer, too.

Here’s a trick especially for ladies: Put your weight on your back hip. This makes your front leg, closest to the camera, look leaner.

Wondering what to do with your arms? There’s a reason putting a hand on your hip is a classic: It makes your arm look slimmer than keeping it pressed against your body.

Keep it real

We all feel pressure to look as happy as possible in pictures, which can look unnatural. Make sure your smile is genuine. Tell a joke or think about something that always makes you laugh.

Other times, a mysterious Mona Lisa smile is the way to go. Think about turning up the corners of your mouth, or even one side, without doing a full smile. Part your lips just a bit to avoid grimacing.

England stars shared heartwarming photographs of their beloved families and friends as they celebrated their triumphant 2-1 win against their Colombian rivals.

The Lionesses are now one step closer to World Cup glory after a tense 90-minute clash over who would enter the semi-finals.

Goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck shared a touching family photo on Instagram

She posed with her mother and father on her right and her believed-to-be nephew on her left.

The 23-year-old, from Sheffield, captured the picture with ‘WIN’ as her clearly proud mother, who was wearing a lime green rain coat, beamed from cheek to cheek.

Her father, who wore shorts and a hoodie, grinned intensely after he was spotted roaring down the stadium as his daughter helped bring her country’s team to victory.

The Manchester City star posed in a light blue tracksuit as she wrapped her arm around a man, who her Instagram followers believe to be her younger nephew.

The two appear to have a close bond as she frequently posts the younger man on her social media.

Right-back Lucy Bronze tried to contain her nephew’s excitement as the little boy swung his arms in the air, struggling to control his cheer.

The Barcelona player, judging by her social media, spends a lot of time the toddler, as many dub the Lioness a ‘No1 auntie’.

The 31-year-old sticks her tongue out while laughing at the delighted toddler as he raved about the Lionesses’ intense win.

Lucy was pictured in the club’s light blue tracksuit, a tight pony tail and a black cross-body bag.

Box-to-box midfielder, Jordon Nobbs poses with her friend and head of Women’s Football at Caabase, Georgie Hodge.

The Aston Villa star, sporting her iconic blue and pink puffer jacket, wrapped her arm around Georgie, who was wearing a brown jacket and cream trousers, while she posed with sports agent Suzie Lamburn in the Australian stands.

The photograph was captioned with two bright red love hearts as the trio grinned with excitement.

England now sail forward into the semi-finals Down Under, following their tense quarter-final, with goals from Hemp and Alessia Russo seeing them through after the Colombians had taken the lead.

As the ecstatic team went on to celebrate on the pitch, pundit and former player Wright, a champion of women’s football, embraced a joyful Hemp after her first-half equaliser.

Russo then grabbed the winner in the second half, smashing her shot past goalkeeper Catalina Perez, securing a brilliant comeback from the initial 1-0 score.

England were booed by the South American team’s support in the first half, before they looked to upset the odds by opening the scoring.

But England fought on to claim the lead in the second half and will now face home nation Australia in the semis as they aim to get to the World Cup final for the first time.

The Lionesses were roared on by fans across the world to keep their dream alive as Wiegman pushed her side to take the win in 90 minutes.

After the victory, England players could be seen consoling some of the devastated young Colombians and swapping shirts with them.

A message posted on the Twitter account of the Prince and Princess of Wales congratulated the Lionesses for their epic win, as they said: ‘Bring on the semi-finals! A hard-fought win, well done @Lionesses’.

Speaking after the match, Lauren Hemp told ITV she was ‘so proud’ of the team and said they were all feeling ‘really confident’.

‘I’m absolutely knackered right now,’ Hemp smiled, adding: ‘I’m so proud of the team.

‘Whenever we got the ball we looked like we were going to create something.’

Hemp paid tribute to the ‘special connection’ she has with striker Alessia Russo, and was optimistic about their chances against home nation Australia after the crowd’s hostile atmosphere.

She said: ‘The atmosphere was incredible, I couldn’t even hear the person next to me.’

Coach Wiegman described the match as a ‘very tough challenge’. She said the second half was ‘hard’ against such a tough team, but continued: ‘I am so proud of the team… if we had [been better] we could have finished up the game a little earlier.’

Excited England fans arrived at Stadium Australia in Sydney waving flags and wearing red and white face paint ahead of the Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses’ World Cup quarter-final clash.

The Colombian team had a quick start to the match with an early dash towards England’s goal, as the Lionesses faced boos and jeers from Colombian fans – a factor German players previously said contributed to their last-16 loss against the side.

London‘s skyline is both iconic and ever changing as ambitious developers continue to add new structures in a bid to meet the ever-increasing demand to live in the capital.

Helicopter photographer Jason Hawkes, who has been capturing the city for the last 20 years, shows how the infrastructure throughout the capital has changed over the last decade in a stunning ‘before’ and ‘after’ series.

Mr Hawkes took the photographs while hanging out from an open two-engine jet turbine AS355 helicopter. While technology has changed throughout his career, he says the way he takes the images has remained ‘pretty much identical’. While he now uses a digital camera instead of an analogue film camera, he still flies over the same spots with some the same pilots.

What has changed, however, is how the capital has looked over the years. Mr Hawkes says it is ‘amazing how much the city changes’ and alleges that London has changed ‘more in the last three to four years than I have ever seen’.

He says that because building work evolves ‘relatively slowly’ – as skyscrapers take multiple years to build – it can be easy to miss just how different even your own neighbourhood looks.

‘Particularly in the area where you live, you don’t think about the changes,’ he told MailOnline. ‘You may think, “oh it’s changed a bit”, but it’s only when I look back at a picture from 10 years ago that I think about how buildings have been demolished and new skyscrapers put in.’

His stunning photo series comes as developers as 70 new skyscrapers and towerblocks are expected to be build around the capital in the near future. Builders are lodging applications for innovative designs to follow the completion of the Shard, the Cheesegrater and other unique buildings in the capital in recent years.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson made her first red carpet debut at The Logies on Sunday after losing a whopping 18kg.

The 48-year-old was the belle of the ball, showing off her super slim figure in a stylish red Effie Kats strapless gown.

Jackie has undergone an extraordinary body transformation after she took two months off her top-rated The Kyle and Jackie O show in November last year to recover from long Covid.

She returned to social media on New Year’s Eve last year, posting several photos of her slimmed-down figure in a swimsuit while holidaying with her daughter Kitty in Fiji.

In the caption, the mother-of-one wished her followers a Happy New Year and promoted her partnership with Weight Watchers (WW), saying she was feeling the ‘best she had’ in ‘many years’.

The star’s drastic slim-down became apparent again in February, when she started posting photos of herself with some of the guests on her radio show, including rapper Yung Gravy and Bravo king Andy Cohen.

Jackie beamed in a long-sleeve T-shirt and tiny shorts as she stood next to the American rapper and her co-host Kyle Sandilands.

Just weeks later, the blonde star showed off her slender frame again when she slipped into an oversized blue t-shirt and shorts as she posed alongside US Bravo king, Andy Cohen.

Since then Jackie has lost even more weight, which has led to the blonde being dogged by rumours she is taking the controversial weight-loss drug, Ozempic – of which she has denied.

Last month Jackie complained she was the victim of trolls who claimed she had loss the weight as a result of Ozempic and not diet and exercise.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, she said: ‘When I first lost weight and started to lose weight at the beginning of the year, it was all fine. And then when I lost a little bit more, people were suspicious that it came off very quickly.’

‘And since then I’d say, like, for the last 3 to 4 months, I’ve had people just so steadfast in their belief that I have not lost this the right way and I’ve done something else.’

Jackie insisted while it doesn’t matter how someone loses weight, she did it the healthy way.

‘I can’t say it enough that I have not done anything other than just eat well, exercise and give up alcohol,’ she said.

She explained the biggest change was her mindset, as she had previously struggled to shed unwanted kilos for the past three years because she ‘wasn’t in that right head space.’

‘I just was not motivated and I wasn’t mentally feeling well and so I just wasn’t there. I couldn’t find that motivation within me,’ she explained.

Directly addressing critics who said she was taking Ozempic, Jackie said: ‘That diabetic medication people talk about taking, I don’t take that.’

She has instead said she has stuck to intermittent fasting, zero alcohol and a healthy diet to shed the excess kilograms.

Jackie, who recently started playing tennis regularly, added quitting alcohol and embracing exercise ‘was a big thing [she’d] never done before’.

She also confirmed she didn’t even drink alcohol at Kyle’s wedding in April, choosing to go sober for the lavish occasion.

Jackie also recently spoke about her new diet on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, revealing she often skips breakfast for intermittent fasting.

She avoids carbohydrates, and satiates her hunger throughout the day by snacking on pre-cut pieces of steak.

Jackie recently ended her partnership with WW – formerly Weight Watchers – saying she wanted to move on from weight loss.

Appearing on Sunrise in July, she said: ‘Yeah. I think that [the partnership] has come to a natural end. They were incredible to me and they have helped me so much.’

The radio star went on to say she was broadening her focus in regards to her health after achieving her body goals through the program.

‘The focus for me is not on weight loss. I am really thankful they have helped me a lot,’ Jackie added.

‘I feel like I have my life in a really good place now. Healthy and happy.’

Jackie joined WW for the second time after suffering from her bout of long Covid, which forced her to step down from her radio show in November last year.

Just before she went on hiatus she was open with listeners about her struggle.

‘I’ve been not very well ever since I’ve had Covid… I’ve been struggling with this fatigue,’ she said at the time.

‘I’ve been to the doctor several times and he said because I’ve been pushing myself every day, after the show all I’ve been doing is sleeping and I’m not getting better.’

Jackie went somewhat silent on social media during her break, posting no images to Instagram in November as she worked on her mental and physical health.

These are the shocking photos taken by investigators during the bust of an illegal biolab in a sleepy California town.

Local and federal officials raided the unassuming warehouse in Reedley – home to just over 25,000 residents – where they discovered a lab of horrors with suspicious links to China

Photos show dead mice stuffed in storage bins haphazardly shoved on shelves and freezers filled to the brim with bottles of blood and plasma of origins unknown.

Images also show samples of infectious agents, including a box labeled ‘malaria’ alongside Chinese writing. Unanswered questions remain about the origins of the lab, who was running it, and what they were up to.

In total, investigators found 1,000 dead, dying, and disease-riddled mice, as well as vials of disease-causing pathogens, including Covid-19, tuberculosis, HIV, herpes, and dengue fever.

Nearly 1,000 mistreated and malnourished white lab mice were discovered at the facility in subpar conditions. About 200 of them were already dead. The rest have been humanely euthanized by a veterinarian

Among hundreds of vials of infectious viruses and bacteria, many of which were stored improperly in shoddy freezers, were samples of malaria, shown here, alongside Chinese characters. Other infectious agents found included strains of the herpes virus, the bacterium that causes meningitis,  chlamydia, Covid-19, and HIV

The photos were included in unsealed court documents.

Nearly 1,000 white mice were crowded into storage containers under bright lights 24 hours a day, seven days a week in an airless room on perpetually dirty bedding.

More than 5,000 gallons of biological waste – including blood and virus samples – has been removed from the site over three separate trips to the warehouse earlier this month, a major step since the lab was first identified in December 2022.

Reedley city officials, alongside Fresno county and federal government investigators, have said the stored viruses and bacteria have been properly discarded and the distressed mice humanely euthanized, but the number of questions about the purpose of the illicit lab and the people behind it outnumbers the answers.

When pressed for more information about conditions in the unlicensed lab, its dubious path for certification, and risky storage methods and waste disposal, city and county officials were met with vague responses from occupants of the building that failed to offer satisfactory answers.

Ms Harper said: ‘There are regulations and standards for keeping mice. You are not meeting these standards at a state or local level. You have yet to provide us with the UMI procedures that would outline your care plan for these mice.’

County officials also brought in a veterinarian to assess the health of the mice and concluded that ‘there is great concern for the way the mice are being kept and cared for.’ And water to the building had been shut off, leaving few if any sources of drinking water for the mice.

The mice were confined to a poorly ventilated room hardly larger than a closet under constant bright lights shown in the above photo. Court documents also say they lacked adequate food and water

In May, staff from the Centers for Disease Control found hundreds of vials of infectious viruses and bacteria in the lab. Those that were labeled included the bacterium that causes chlamydia, E. coli, the bacteria that causes tuberculosis and meningitis, those that cause pneumonia, and an infectious parasite called Toxoplasma gondii.

Among the viruses that were labeled, inspectors found hepatitis B and C, dengue, HIV, two strains of the herpes virus, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), rubella, coronavirus, and malaria.

Despite what they found, a representative of the company behind the lab named David He reportedly disputed Fresno County officials ‘that infectious agets were kept on the property.’

An official added in a request for a warrant to go in and dispose of the lab’s contents: ‘On June 8, 2023, I responded to David He’s June 7, 2023, email and provided a list of all identified infectious agents found on the Property.

‘Mr He’s purported lack of knowledge of infectious agents on the Property raise serious concerns with the lack of safety protocols and direction offered by Prestige Biotech and other business entities handling of these infectious agents as a serious threat to public health and safety.’

Blood and plasma from unidentified sources were also found in some of the several freezers on the premises

For example, court documents say, a mosquito could feed on the samples of tissue or blood exposed to malaria stored on the property, becoming a disease vector to spread the disease in humans.

Mr He further denied any and all arguments that the storage posed a threat to public health and only admitted to having samples of E. Coli and nothing else.

And the county officials were skeptical from the start about Mr He’s legitimate affiliation with Prestige Biotech, noting that he provided no satisfactory documentation to the county’s public health department that he was an authorized agent of the firm or its predecessor, Universal Meditech Inc. So far, the forces behind the lab remain shrouded in mystery.

The county official said: ‘Fresno County Public Health staff has made repeated attempts to request the identities and contact information for the principals and/or authorized agents of Prestige Biotech and UMI. These attempts have thus far been futile.’

Mr He also offered information that county officials maintain ‘failed to communicate and identify a representative for Prestige Biotech or UMI authorized to do business in California.’ For instance, Xiaoxiao Wang was named as the agent from UMI that assumed financial responsibility for the business in Reedley and the address that was provided was in Fresno.

But that address ended up being the same address where UMI operated its previous unlicensed laboratory before hastily transferring all biologicals, equipment, and mice to the Reedley facility after the owner of the property threatened eviction.

The contents are unknown, as investigators deemed it unsafe to inspect further, but it violated municipal waste management requirements

Investigators also found a biohazardous waste container, one example of the facility's improper disposal practices, having been shrinkwrapped and stored next to filing cabinets.

And while the precise origins of the lab remain unknown, county officials noted that the other addresses provided were empty offices in China or other addresses in that country that could not be verified.

The story began with a city official passing by the unassuming warehouse on I street in Reedley and spotting a garden hose protruding from the building where it should not have been.

The eagle-eyed code enforcement officer set off a domino effect of shocking revelations about the operation there.

In March earlier this year, among hundreds of vials of dangerous viruses and bacteria along with shelves of dead and distressed mice lacking food and water, investigators also found over 30 freezers containing biological materials, some of which ‘had either stopped functioning or were failing due to an inadequate power supply.

Currently, the investigation into the provenance of the lab is ongoing. While biological materials have been removed, power to the facility has been cut, and lab workers have cleared out, the shoddy equipment remains.

Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba told reporters: ‘There are no more biologicals. There are no more mice, but they still will see us abating 30 freezers and fridges, medical equipment, and all sorts of furniture in there. They’ll still see some activity nothing hazardous at this point.

‘Some of our federal partners still have active investigations going I can only speak to the building side of it.’
