An 82-year-old Norwegian man has been arrested in connection to the death

A British woman has been stabbed to death on Spain‘s Costa Blanca.

The 76-year-old’s Norwegian partner, 82, has been arrested on suspicion of killing her at a property in Orihuela, a spokesperson for the Civil Guard said today.

‘We can confirm that today at 7:40am we were alerted to a possible domestic violence incident at a property in Orihuela Costa which resulted in the death of the victim.

‘The wounds she had could correspond to an attack with a bladed weapon.’

The couple are understood to have lived together at the property. It is not clear if they were married.

A person described as a friend is said to have called the Civil Guard.

One unconfirmed report today said the friend had gone to the property at the request of the man arrested so he could help him hand himself in to police.

Sources close to the investigation said they believed the incident that led to the British woman dying occurred in the early hours of this morning.

Detectives said there were no previous reports of any problems between the alleged aggressor and the victim.

In March, a British woman was found dead inside her home in Orihuela Costa with stab wounds.

Her 69-year-old husband, also thought to be British, was understood to have been arrested as he tried to flee the scene.

Local reports said an unnamed suspect had been included on a database after being accused of domestic violence in 2019, two years after the couple moved to Spain.

Also in March, it emerged a British man facing a murder charge over the frenzied stabbing of his wife at their Costa del Sol flat had died in hospital and was set to be given a pauper’s funeral.

David Cadwallader, 80, passed away in December last year, less than a month after being remanded in custody following the brutal killing of his wife Lesley who was also from the UK.

News of his death on December 2 last year was only made public four months later.

Reports at the time of the killing said she had phoned the emergency services in a desperate SOS call to say she had been knifed four times before the line went dead.

Her husband, who was thought to have Alzheimer’s, was discovered lying on a bed at their beachfront apartment in Torremolinos and arrested after police forced entry with the help of firefighters.

A judge decided to send him to prison while he continued to investigate him over the November 4 2022 killing, although officials confirmed at the time he had been transferred to a specialist psychiatric wing.

Although the expat had officially been placed under investigation he had yet to be formally charged with any crime at the time of his death.

In December last year a 56-year-old British man was arrested on suspicion of killing his wife of the same nationality at their home near Mazarron in the south-east Spanish province of Murcia.

She was found dead on the ground outside the bungalow they purchased earlier this year.

It was not immediately clear today how far the criminal investigation into that incident has progressed and whether the man arrested remains in custody.

Hunter Biden‘s business partner helped supply military vehicles to Putin-backed forces that invaded Ukraine, a report by transparency activists claims.

Kazakh oligarch Kenes Rakishev, who sent Hunter $142,300 to buy a Porsche in 2014, hired him as a consultant to invest millions in the US, and was even photographed at an intimate meeting with Joe Biden, according to emails, records and their friend Devon Archer’s congressional testimony.

Rakishev, 44, is allegedly co-owner of Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering (KPE), which makes Arlan mine-resistant armored platform (MRAP) vehicles, according to a new report by transparency group the Kazakhstani Initiative on Asset Recovery (KIAR), based on Rakishev’s leaked emails.

The tank-like armored trucks were spotted on the streets of Mariupol in April 2022, driven by Chechen troops that invaded Ukraine alongside Russian forces.

Hunter’s former business partner Rakishev has entered the spotlight of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into the Biden family’s shady business dealings, with his payments to Hunter and meetings with Joe detailed in a new memo released by the Committee Wednesday, supported by subpoenaed bank records.

Rakishev hired Hunter as a consultant to invest millions in the US and sent him $142k to buy a Porsche

KIAR’s report says Rakishev has co-owned the company since 2015 with a South African defense contractor, Paramount Group.

His alleged ownership has previously been obfuscated behind a complex corporate structure, but has now been revealed after his emails were leaked.

The Kazakh businessman, reportedly worth over $300 million, has close ties to his country’s military. His father-in-law Imangali Tasmagambetov was the former Defense Secretary, and was on the board of another firm that supplied military trucks to Russia, the report said.

The armored Arlan truck manufacturer KPE has denied a close relationship with Russia’s military, saying they gave one Arlan vehicle to Putin’s National Guard in 2019 but that ‘further cooperation with Russians did not continue.’

They also claimed that ‘Kenes Rakishev and Imangali Tasmagambetov have nothing to do with the enterprise.’

But KIAR’s report, based on corporate records and Rakishev’s leaked emails, says he controlled two companies that own KPE: KazPetroMash and InterTechAudit.

Emails in Cyrillic allegedly show Rakishev approving transactions by the two firms.

On March 17, 2022, Kadyrov posted a video on Russian social media site VKontakte showing the storming of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, which included a shot of an Arlan armored car allegedly sold by Rakishev’s company.

A November 2022 report by military news site Oryx claimed that Chechen forces ‘include a small number of Arlan MRAPs (South African designed Marauder MRAPs) from Kazakhstan’.

In April, Rakishev sent $142,300 to Rosemont Seneca Bohai, a company equally co-owned by Hunter and Archer, the former friend of the First Son said.

Archer claimed Hunter was selling the Biden ‘brand’ to his foreign business partners, flexing his political influence by having Joe talk to Hunter’s business partners on speakerphone during meetings.

In a press release Wednesday along with the House Oversight Committee’s memo on Rakishev’s payments to the First Son, Republican committee chairman James Comer said Hunter was selling access to the president.

‘During Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Hunter Biden sold him as ‘the brand’ to reap millions from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine,’ Comer said.

‘It appears no real services were provided other than access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself. And Hunter Biden seems to have delivered. This is made clear by meals at Café Milano where then-Vice President Joe Biden dined with oligarchs from around the world who had sent money to his son.

‘It’s clear Joe Biden knew about his son’s business dealings and allowed himself to be ‘the brand’ sold to enrich the Biden family while he was Vice President of the United States. The House Oversight Committee will continue to follow the money trail and obtain witness testimony to determine whether foreign actors targeted the Bidens, President Biden is compromised or corrupt, and our national security is threatened.’

Sandra Bullock‘s partner Bryan Randall’s death has sparked a 500 per cent increase in donations to the ALS (known as MND in the UK) Association.

The photographer died on Saturday aged 57 after a secret three-year ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) battle.

After the family asked for people to donate to the ALS Association instead of sending or buying flowers.

Sandra’s sister Gesine wrote in an Instagram post: ‘In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital (links in bio).’

The ALS Association told TMZ that now donations were up 500 per cent over the same time last year in a funding spike.

They told the publication: ‘We’re grateful for the amazing outpouring of support in honor of Bryan.’

‘He’s the example that I would want my children to have,’ the Oscar-winning star said of Randall, who died after battling the disease for three years privately.

In the exchange, Bullock also said that she didn’t feel the need to exchange vows with Randall amid their committed relationship.

‘I am someone who went through the divorce process,’ Bullock said. ‘I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children – three children, his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever.

‘So, I don’t want to say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner or a devoted mother.’

‘Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.’

The statement continued: ‘We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.

‘At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan.’

Before her relationship with Randall, Bullock was in a high-profile romance with Monster Garage host Jesse James.

They met after she brought her motorcycle-obsessed godson on a trip to West Coast Choppers’s Long Beach headquarters in 2003.

The pair ultimately wed in 2005, in front of 270 of their closest friends and family at a ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Symptoms

Sarah Bullock‘s family has praised the ‘amazing’ way she cared for her longtime partner Bryan Randall during his secret battle with ALS before his tragic death at 57.

The photographer’s family revealed in a statement on Monday that he had passed away on Saturday, August 5, three years after he was diagnosed with the illness.

Bullock’s sister Gesine Bullock-Prado took to her Instagram on Monday afternoon to mourn the loss of Randall and honor her sister, who had been in a relationship with Randall since 2015.

‘I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon,’ she began.

‘ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home,’ Bullock-Prado added.

‘My bestest friend in the world asked me to marry him, and of course (through so many happy tears) I said yes,’ says Rosie.

The Burberry model, 27, showed off the sparkler that Ross, 34, proposed with on a beach under Cornwall’s Brea Hill.

‘I’m feeling like the luckiest girl in the world,’ says Rosie, who was the first person to zip-wire across the River Thames, hurtling at 40mph while 170ft in the air.

Meanwhile, Ross and his identical twin brother Hugo hold world records for being part of the youngest four-man crew to row the Atlantic.

A British tourist has drowned in front of his partner during a beach trip in Majorca.

Lifeguards brought the 62-year-old man out of the water and emergency responders spent nearly an hour trying to revive him on the sand at the popular holiday resort of Puerto Pollensa.

Their attempts to save him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The alarm was raised around 3.30pm local time on Thursday.

Well-placed sources said his partner alerted lifeguards.

One said: ‘She saw him floating in the water after he went for a swim. Lifeguards pulled him out of the water and tried to revive him before emergency responders took over when they arrived.’

The dead man has not been named.

A routine probe into the tragedy coordinated by a local investigating judge has been launched.

In April a British man drowned in front of his teenage son in Tenerife.

The unnamed 58-year-old was pulled out of the sea by two people said to include a nurse who performed CPR on him after he went into cardiac arrest while they waited for emergency responders to arrive.

The emergency responders continued to try to revive him after reaching the scene, near the Punta de Teno lighthouse at the northwestern tip of Tenerife, but there was nothing they could do to save him.

In May a British toddler drowned in a a swimming pool at a villa in La Nuria near Benidorm.

Sources said at the time the 19-month-old child’s mum was at the property with three of the youngster’s siblings at the time.

Puerto Pollensa, which in the local Majorcan language is known as Port de Pollenca, is one of the favourite destinations on the island for British holidaymakers and many have second homes in the area.

It is known as a family-friendly resort. Visitors over the years have included former PM David Cameron and his family and former professional road and track racing cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins.
