New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has offered some stern advice to both his teammates and fans as frustrations grow after multiple poor performances on offense.

Rodgers was making his weekly appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ when he said that he wasn’t a fan of the ‘little side conversations’ that took place during the 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots and said his teammates needed to ‘grow up.’

‘I think we need to hold our poise a little bit better across the board,’ Rodgers said.

‘Just offensively, we need to not have some of those things happen on the sideline and to be a little better and to be a, just be a little better competitors.

‘Too many little side conversations, and we just need to grow up a little bit on offense and lock in and do our jobs and not point fingers at each other — and that’s everybody. Don’t point fingers at the coaching staff, don’t point fingers at each other. Just get back to work and get the job done.’

Rodgers was in large part alluding to the animated conversations seen on the sidelines involving WR Garrett Wilson and RB Michael Carter.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback was forced to watch the game against New England from his home on Sunday as he continues the first steps in rehabbing the torn Achilles, he suffered only four plays into his Jets debut in Week 1.

New York pulled off a miraculous overtime win against the Buffalo Bills during that Week 1 game before dropping the next to contest after Zach Wilson filled in as the starter and the offense delivered putrid performances in both games.

‘I feel like if I was there, some of those things wouldn’t be happening,’ said Rodgers, who underwent Achilles surgery Sept. 13. ‘[I’m] not sure we’d be 3-0 — I don’t know that.

‘I’d like to think there’s a possibility of that, but it’s more the side stuff that I don’t like and that I want to see us stick together through the tough times.’

The tough times were seemingly made worse very quickly as Jets legend and NFL Hall of Famer Joe Namath went full scorched earth in voicing his displeasure with Wilson’s performances, as well as the Jets lead decision makers for staying loyal to the struggling third-year QB.

Wilson was benched last year by head coach Robert Saleh on two separate occasions for poor play, however Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas decided on a plan to allow Wilson to backup Rodgers and learn from one of the games greats before regaining the starting role in after Rodgers eventually retired.

After that plan was quickly altered following Rodgers injury the Jets then chose not to bring in a veteran quarterback to challenge, if not replace, Wilson as the starter.

Earlier on Tuesday the Jets completed the signing of veteran journeyman Trevor Siemian to the practice squad although he is far from considered a savior at the position due to his resume.

The 31-year-old Siemian has a career record of 13-17, with 42 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. His only seasons as a starter came in 2016 and 2017 with the Denver Broncos and has since been released from several backup roles.

Siemian was the Jets backup in 2019 and filled in for then QB Sam Darnold who was dealing with mononucleosis, but only lasted one quarter before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

Before adding Siemian, the Jets were linked with several other QBs including Colin Kaepernick who recently had a letter he sent to the Jets asking for a chance to prove himself made public by award-winning rapper J Cole.

NFL star Chandler Jones, of the Las Vegas Raiders, has claimed he was taken against his will to a mental health hospital by the Vegas fire department last week.

In an alarming social media post on Monday night, Jones said he has been injected against his will and forced to sleep on the floor. It comes a week after Jones went on a disturbing rant accusing Raiders owner Mark Davis of protecting the identity of a man he claims molested his goddaughter. Jones later said that he had been hacked.

In a post on X, captioned ‘First day out but I’m still aligned’, Jones wrote: ‘First day out, if my fans and friends were wondering, I was taken in by the Las Vegas fire department last week against my will.

‘I was injected with I don’t know what. They say it was a court hold and the Las Vegas police put me on it. I hadn’t done anything wrong. The police said people were concerned about me because of my posts online.

‘I answered my front door and a group of 5 to 7 were there to put me in an ambulance where I was later injected and I asked them not to. I had no cell phone or no communication. I was taken to Southern Hills hospital and then transferred to Seven Hills where they tried to force me to take meds and injections.

‘I called Raiders GM 6 to 7 times asking for help and wondered if he had put me in here, but he never answered. I even left him voicemails. I was just trying to figure out why I’m not allowed in the building still and why do I have to continue to watch my brothers suffer every Sunday. But no answer.

‘This place is NOT a place for high profile athletes. My first night I slept on the floor and was not offered a bed.

‘My brothers had to bring me decent meals to eat and clothes. My dad comes and reads me bible verses. Every day that I miss is one million dollars. I’m still confused on what I did wrong. I’m still here. I’m very sane.

‘I workout in my room every day. Even down the hallway at 3am if you ask the staff here.

‘All I know is whoever put me here had bad intentions. I’m to (sic) strong of a person to be mentally broken. For all of my friends that know me, THEY KNOW!!!’.

The Raiders put Jones on the non-football illness list last week, ruling him out for the team indefinitely.

‘It’s a personal situation and a private matter,’ Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels said at the time. ‘We have dealt with it, and I am not going to talk about it.’

The Las Vegas Raiders have been approached for comment in light of the new post from Jones, who is 33.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported last week that ‘Raiders players and others around the league have shared concerns’ over Jones and his wellbeing.

It comes after another social media rant on September 5, in which Jones claimed he didn’t want to play for the team if head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler were in place.

In that same outburst, Jones also claimed that he was not allowed in the Raiders’ facility. ‘They won’t let me in the building tho, tryna provoke a n****,’ he wrote on his Instagram story.

‘And they had direct contact to my (baby momma) and we ain’t been together for five years.’

Jones also shared texts that appeared to be sent to McDaniels and another member of the Raiders organization in which he complained about being shunned from the team.

‘It’s a shame that I am a top athlete with 112 sacks in the NFL and I have to go to a local gym to workout during the season for no apparent reason,’ he said in one purported message. ‘This is wild to me Josh and you know it you need to do what’s right.’

Jones signed a three-year, $51million deal with the team last year and will bring home $17million this year.

  • Taylor Swift watched Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday
  • But the singer has previously said that she is a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles

The Kelce and Swift partnership has got the whole of America talking this week but it was a different pairing of the same names that caught the eye for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

A day after Taylor Swift went to see her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce play for the Kansas City Chiefs, Jason Kelce – Travis’s older brother – was combining with his Philadelphia Eagles teammate D’Andre Swift.

The irony was not lost on football fans nor the Eagles themselves – they shared a video of Kelce and Swift high-fiving before the game with the caption: ‘Our favorite Kelce x Swift duo’.

Swift himself carried the ball 26 yards on one play, jumping over Antoine Winfield in the process, after Kelce made a crucial block to keep his path clear.

Taylor herself may well be cheering the two on from home, as well. While she was celebrating a Chiefs victory on Sunday she has previously made no secret of the fact that the Eagles are her team.

She even recently confirmed that the lyrics in her song ‘Gold Rush’  – ‘padding ‘cross your wooden floor with my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door’ reference being an Eagles fan.

Some fans thought Swift, born in Pennsylvania, was referencing the band The Eagles but she clarified the lyric at a show in the Eagles stadium this year.

‘I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate,’ Swift said. ‘I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door.’ I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles.

‘I love the band the Eagles, but guys, come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team.’

The NFL saw the funny side when Jason arrived for Monday night’s game with his headphones on, tweeting video with the caption: ‘Wonder what Jason Kelce is listening to…’

Travis’s Chiefs would have left Swift heartbroken in February when they beat Jason’s Eagles in the Super Bowl.

But now it appears that pop’s biggest star has a second team after watching Travis and the Chiefs on Sunday.

She was in a suite at the Arrowhead Stadium, next to his mom Donna, to cheer him on as the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears 41-10.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have finally been seen together

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was escorted out of the locker room by the famed pop star following Sunday’s 41-10 blowout win over the Chicago Bears.

Kelce was wearing his eye-popping blue-and-white denim leisure suit, while Swift sported her red-and-white ensemble that she was wearing alongside his mother, Donna, in a luxury suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

Earlier, Swift appeared to yell ‘let’s f***ing go‘ in response to Kelce’s third-quarter touchdown reception.

Kelce would end up leading the Chiefs in receiving with seven catches for 69 yards and the TD grab.

The eight-time Pro Bowler was likely determined to put on the best show he could after revealing to ESPN’s Pat McAfee that he invited Swift to this week’s game.

‘I told her that I’ve seen her rock a stage in Arrowhead and she might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead.,’ Kelce said. ‘We’ll see what happens in the near future.’

Kelce had previously shared on his ‘New Heights’ podcast — which he hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce — that he was upset that his opportunity to present Swift with a friendship bracelet — along with his phone number — went by the boards during her Kansas City stop of the Eras Tour.

Following the game Kelce recorded a video commending his head coach Andy Reid for moving past legendary former Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry for sole possession of fourth place on the all-time wins list.

‘Get fired up man, we gotta get coach Reid to No. 1,’ Kelce said in a video post to the NFL’s X account.

‘He just got to four, we gotta get him to No. 1. But in the meantime we gonna keep getting these dubs baby. Chiefs Kingdom get loud baby.’

Reid was not the only member of the Chiefs to etch his name into the NFL’s history books in front of the 12-time Grammy award winning Swift either. Mahomes went over 25,000 yards passing for his career. He did it in 83 games, the fastest in NFL history.

Mahomes also recorded his 22nd game with three TD passes and no interceptions, tying Aaron Rodgers for the most by a QB before turning 30. The Chiefs signal caller turned 28 last Sunday.

Kelce himself also inched closer to record-breaking status as he only needs three more TD catches to pass Tony Gonzalez (76) for second in Chiefs history.

There is no word on whether or not his new No. 1 fan will be in attendance when he eventually breaks the Chiefs record.

Mahomes was also asked about Swift being in attendance by FOX reporter Ein Andrews after the game concluded.

‘Do you realize how much pressure was on you from the Swifties to get Travis Kelce a touchdown with Taylor in the house today?’ she asked during the quick interview.

‘I heard she was in the house… I felt a little bit of pressure and so I knew I had to get it to Trav,’ Mahomes said.

‘And of course, it was on a route he does his own thing and just makes up a route and I threw it to him.  I think he wanted to get in the end zone as much as all the Swifites wanted him to.’

Aaron Rodgers has told Pat McAfee he considered retiring from football due to the torn Achilles that ruined his season with the New York Jets as it had just got started.

Rodgers. 39, joined McAfee’s show live from his rehab room to provide an update on his comeback and admitted that while thoughts of leaving the game entered his head, he is working on returning.

‘It’s tough, every single day is tough. I’ve been grinding on the rehab and looking forward to getting back out to Jersey at some point,’ Rodgers said. ‘It’s disappointing not to be out there.’

Rodgers, who turns 40 in December, joked that his rehab is the ‘reverse darkness retreat’ as he was in a white room without anything on the walls.

‘I’m well taken care of. This is the time for me to sit and receive and try and find some joy in the process.

‘There’s been some progressions the last couple days that get the hope meter trending upwards a little bit and the joy meter trending up a little bit.

‘I don’t wanna get caught in a timeline, I want to get healthy mentally and physically. But I’m gonna do everything that I can to put myself in a position to play football again at some point.

‘Obviously when this happens there are thoughts of ”is that it’ and ‘are you done?’. I don’t feel like I am. I am going to put myself in position to play again.

‘The first goal was to get out of the cast. The second goal, get out of the boot which coincides with walking. Walking leads to movement, faster movement, ultimately running at some point.

‘Getting out the boot is the next goal. When I can stand up on my own, the boot comes off and then it gets exciting.’

Rodgers admitted he is using manifestation to inspire his comeback.

‘Visualization is an important part of the manifestation process,’ he said. ‘At the core of manifestation is belief. You have to believe it is going to happen again.

‘I’m just visualizing being back on the field. Not a timeline, not this year or next year but being able to run out of a tunnel back out onto a field to do exactly what I love.’

Browns running back Nick Chubb has been carted off from the field after suffering a horrendous-looking leg injury in the second quarter against the Steelers on Monday Night Football.

The 27-year-old yelled in pain after going down hard following Cleveland’s first-and-goal play with 14:26 left before halftime, with the Steelers trailing 11-7 at the time.

Fans in Pittsburgh reacted to replays shown on the big screen at Acrisure Stadium with groans, as footage showed Chubb dropping down to the grass from a tackle from Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick with his knee appearing almost at a right angle.

NFL announcer Ian Eagle hilariously poked fun at Travis Kelce after the Chiefs tight end scored a touchdown against the Jaguars on Sunday, as he made a reference to Taylor Swift to highlight the occasion amid dating rumors between the popstar and two-time Super Bowl champion.

Kelce, 33, caught a pass from Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to increase Kansas City’s 7-6 lead over Jacksonville with 11:31 left in the third quarter.

And while Kelce celebrated his first touchdown of the season with teammates after having missed Kansas City’s season-opening 21-20 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 1, Eagle said: ‘Kelce finds a blank space for the score!’

The broadcaster was alluding to Swift’s hit single ‘Blank Space’, which topped charts upon its release in 2014.

Kelce and Swift, who were born the same year (1989), have been linked romantically in recent weeks after it’s been believed that they hung out in New York City over the summer.

Will Aaron Rodgers ever be the same following his ‘heartbreaking’ Achilles tear? That is the million-dollar question, says Dr. Ryan Minara.

Rodgers’ New York Jets debut came to a crashing halt Monday night when the 39-year-old exited the game against the Buffalo Bills after just four snaps.

Jets fans’ worst fears were confirmed the following day when it was announced that the signal caller had ruptured his Achilles tendon, ruling him out for the season in a devastating blow to New York, who only acquired him in the offseason.

But Rodgers, who turns 40 in December, vowed to ‘rise again’ as he broke his silence for the first time since the heartbreaking injury on Wednesday night.

While it isn’t out of the realm of possibility for the veteran to make a comeback, he faces an uphill battle and the risk of never reaching the same level again, Dr. Minara, a podiatry specialist at New York’s Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital, tells DailyMail.com.

Dr. Ryan Minara, a podiatry specialist, tells DailylMail.com that Rodgers faces an uphill battle

‘I do think that, given the fact that not only is he an elite athlete, he’s one of the best of the best of elite athletes and due to his highly-competitive nature, there’s a distinct possibility of him coming back and playing,’ Dr. Minara says.

‘But at 40 it’s a much harder recovery than at 20 or even 30. He has the elite athlete and competitive nature working for him, but his age is working against him.

‘No matter how much of an elite athlete you are, just by his body’s natural aging process, it’s much harder for an Achilles repair to recover and for him to return to be the same Aaron Rodgers that he was before.

‘I do think he’ll work as hard as he can to make it back but it is going to be an uphill battle.’

Even if Rodgers beats the battle against Father Time and makes it back to the field, Dr. Minara warns he might not be the same four-time MVP the league has seen before.

‘I think he can return to play, but will he have the same mobility or strength as he did before? That’s really the million-dollar question,’ adds Dr. Minara, who has experience as a team podiatrist across sports, including lacrosse and triathlon.

‘I think the Jets might have to switch his style of play. He’ll certainly be less mobile or less willing to break sacks or tackles. They’re going to have to protect him. He’s going to have to stay in the pocket a little more rather than using his legs.

‘Obviously he still has a wonderful arm. It might affect arm strength a little in terms of throwing the ball down field because you do rely on a lot of that strength from your lower body and core but he’ll still be Aaron Rodgers.’

Dr. Minara insists there’s more to the challenge than getting Rodgers back to full health. The Jets not only need to work on improving the quarterback but also their offensive line.

‘It would benefit him and the team the most, so that he can worry less about having to escape the pocket and use his legs,’ he says.

‘I do think the Jets should invest in an O-Line so he doesn’t have to worry about using his legs at much.’

STANDARD ACHILLES RECOVERY PROCESS POST-SUGERY

Two weeks post-surgery: No weight bearing, use of crutches

Four to six weeks: Gentle motion exercises once stitches are removed, transitioned to a walking boot

Six to eight weeks: Walking in the boot with light pressure, increased motion exercises

Eight to 12/16 weeks: General physical therapy to maintain strength and motion

Four to six months: Sport-specific rehab

Six to 12 months: Increasing amount of activity, depending on the sport

Nine to 12 months: Possibility they are able to play at a high level

It will be along journey back to the field for Rodgers, especially in time for the start of next season.

Dr. Minara explains that Rodgers will not be able to bear weight on his left foot for at least two weeks post surgery before being able to allow a little bit of pressure in a walking boot once the stitches are taken out.

The former Green Bay Packers quarterback won’t be able to start general physical therapy until the eight to 16 week mark, with the sport-specific rehab generally not beginning until four or six months post surgery.

He says that even athletes have to wait until nine or 12 months after the procedure before they’re able to play at a high level.

Around 75 percent of all Achilles ruptures are among athletes, ranging from elite athletes such as Aaron Rodgers, weekend warriors, collegiate level, according to Dr.  Minara.

But the Achilles rupture is still one of the toughest injuries to bounce back from, even for the elite sporting stars.

‘The Achilles is the strongest tendon in the body, it’s under a lot of tension, so when it ruptures it really alters the leg function from that point forward,’ Dr. Minara explains.

‘That’s why it’s many times a difficult injury to recover from. Because you have to reset that resting tension, you have to strengthen the muscle, then you have to worry about the bloody supply to the area and then healing issues in general.

‘But people do come back. Kobe Bryant ruptured his Achilles tendon and he came back. Was he the same Kobe Bryant after he came back? It’s hard to say because he was already a little older.’

Rodgers’s devastating injury drew criticism of the NFL for allowing teams to play on artificial turf. Currently the league is split – 15 stadiums have grass, 15 use turf.

The league has been accused of putting ‘profit over people’, while the NFLPA has previously demanded an immediate ban on slit film turf.

But Dr. Minara shuts down any speculation that the turf played any role in Rodgers’s injury, claiming it could have happened anywhere.

‘There will always be people who complain about turf but there will be certain injuries that occur no matter what,’ he says.

‘When you look at the slow motion replay of this particular injury it’s just a classic example of when an Achilles tendon ruptures. He already had some nagging calf injuries. He was trying to run away but he was being pinned down, so he was trying to plant and flex down his foot but due to the pressure of the defender on top of him, and due to the fact that he foot was stuck on the ground, the muscle was contracting, the foot couldn’t go anywhere and the Achilles popped.

‘That type of injury can happen anywhere at any time. I don’t think the turf necessarily played a role in this particular injury. But it is something the NFL really needs to figure out. If there is an increase in specific injury, they need to see if the turf is playing a role in it.’

There is only one Michael Jordan, NBA fans might say – but they would be wrong.

As anyone monitoring the Green Bay Packers‘ daily transactions now knows, there is another Michael Jordan, who joined the team’s practice squad this week.

Like the 60-year-old NBA legend, the 25-year-old Jordan is also listed as a 6-foot-6 guard, but that is where the similarities end. At 315 pounds, the former Ohio State lineman weighs about 50 percent more than the elder Jordan did at his age.

Of course, the name is hardly rare. ‘Jordan’ is the 116th most popular surname in the United States, according to NameCensus.com, which ranks ‘Michael’ fourth among for males. Unsurprisingly, A LexisNexis search of the name ‘Michael Jordan’ yielded more than 3,000 results in the US alone.

There are other famous Michael Jordans, too, including actor Michael B. Jordan. And in the early 2000s, ESPN ran a popular advertisement centered on a fictional middle-aged man with the name and the daily struggles he faced.

‘Are you kidding?’ a disappointed limousine driver holding a ‘Michael Jordan’ sign tells the man in the popular ad.

Thanks to his name, the NFL’s Jordan managed to finagle free pizza from Papa John’s during his college days at Ohio State.

‘I placed it online in the name of ”Michael Jordan,”’ the former Buckeye told ESPN in 2021.

‘All of a sudden, it says it will be here in 20 minutes,’ he continued. ‘So I called the place and said I placed an order for Michael Jordan. He started cussing me out. He said, ”It’s Super Bowl Sunday. You can’t be playing around with fake names like that.”

‘Then I went in and showed him my ID, and I got free pizza for a week.’

The younger Michael Jordan arrived on the periphery of the Packers this week and could find his way onto the 53-man roster if Green Bay continues to suffer injuries along its offensive line. Long-time Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari has been battling knee issues since 2018 and missed the team’s Week 1 win over the rival Chicago Bears.

Ultimately he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.

In 2021, he was waived and then later claimed by the Carolina Panthers, giving the city of Charlotte two Michael Jordans as the Basketball Hall of Famer owned the NBA’s Hornets at the time.

The NFL’s Jordan was cut by the Panthers in August and has since been looking for work.

As for the origin of his famous moniker, the Michigan native told ESPN he was actually named after his father, which is for the best, considering he’s awful at hoops.

‘I’m actually pretty terrible at basketball,’ he said in 2021. ‘You can ask the guys in the locker room. They already know that. I’ve been terrible since I’ve been a kid. I’ve got to look at the ball when I dribble.’
