Brazen thieves have been caught on video running from Footlocker, Apple and Lululemon with arms full of merchandise as Philadelphia police struggle to grab the looters.

Videos shared on social media shows police officers attempting to grab lotters, some of who are wearing Halloween masks, as they run from a Lululemon store carrying goods.

Numerous bikes and piles of merchandise can be seen piled up on the sidewalk outside the clothing store on Walnut Street in the heart of the city.

ABC reported that police had detained individuals ranged from teenagers to young adults, and recovered one weapon from the scene.

It has also been reported that there have been numerous shots fired during the looting in the downtown area.

Thieves also descended on a nearby Foot Locker store and Apple Store, with CBS News reporting that the security guard at the footwear store was assaulted.

In another video of the store being ransacked, a large number of thieves can be seen rifling through the store.

Footage from the Apple store shows the aftermath of the looting, with iPhones and other electronic goods seemingly ripped from their display stands.

What appears to be staff members can be seen standing around looking bemused.

Fox News reporter Steve Keeley also shared footage showing the fallout of the looting.

Officers can be seen placing handcuffs on one man, as they guard the exterior of the store.

Numerous people can be heard shouting in the background as he is led to the rear of a police van.

Another shot of looters outside the Lululemon store shows a large number of thieves making their escape.

Numerous officers quickly arrive on the scene and can be seen pinning several men down.

A police officer also told NBC Philadelphia that over 100 juveniles had looted the Lululemon store.

CBS3 said that multiple police commanders confirmed to them that the looting had no connection to earlier BLM demonstrations.

Protests had started round the city earlier in the day over the dismissal of charges against police officer Eddie Irizarry who was involved in a fatal shooting.

Hugh E. Dillon also shared a video showing the police response to his social media page.

Dillon wrote: ‘Stay out of center city: Kids looted Apple Store , Lululemon and Chestnut street I hear footlocker has been broken into.

‘The police are doing an incredible effort on bikes and in cars corralling the kids blocked by Block. They are pulling cars over a lot of kids are in cars.

‘They stop and a whole bunch of them get out and then they start trying to break in the stores. But the police are on top of it.’

Security guard at a nearby Wendy’s, Hakeem Russel told NBC that the store next to the fast food restaurant had been broken into, with a guard assaulted.

Russel told the outlet: ‘A couple a kids decided they wanted to take full advantage of the unjust shooting that’s happened.

‘It’s definitely been unrest around here since the verdict.’

Another video shows what appears to be a liquor store in the city, with one woman filming the scene shouting: ‘Everybody must eat, everybody must eat.’

Officers have now blocked off several streets in the area with crime scene tape due to the robberies.

ABC reported that police had detained individuals ranged from teenagers to young adults, and recovered one weapon.

DailyMail.com has approached the Philadelphia Police Department for comment on the situation.

Just three weeks ago, the Philadelphia Police Commissioner resigned from her post as the Democratic run city dealt with a wave of homicides and lawlessness.

Danielle Outlaw, 48, who has been Philly’s top cop since February 2020, officially left the department on September 22.

Outlaw’s new role will be the Deputy Chief Security Officer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where she will oversee the airports, bridges, tunnels and other transportation infrastructure in the New York City area.

Before she took office, Philadelphia saw less than 400 homicides each year since 2007. Both 2021 and 2022 have seen more than 500 homicides across the city.

Latest figures, which are up until last Sunday, show how there has been 302 homicides in the city so far this year.

There has also been 402 reported rapes, 58,759 cases of property crime, 3,701 cases of aggravated assaults and 1,314 shooting victims.

He’s on the edge! Moment a fight breaks out at Brazil’s famous ‘cliff-hanging’ selfie spot after one man’s photo gets spoiled

  • One man pushed the other after he accidentally got in the way of his photoshoot

Two men risked life and limb and got into a fight over a photo at one of the world’s most famous selfie spots.

The two unnamed men got into a scrap at the famous cliff-hanging illusion spot at the top of Pedra do Telegrafo, in the western part of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after one man got in the way of another’s photoshoot on Sunday.

The site is famous for its Instagram-worthy images, featuring a giant boulder where people can pose for a picture that from certain angles gives the impression that the person is on the edge of an abyss.

In reality, the rock is just a few inches off the ground.

The furious poser got up from his hanging position and pushed the other man after he seemingly got in the way of the photoshoot, before he was kicked and put into a headlock position.

The man who seemingly started the fight was quickly put into a headlock

The pair quickly tumbled a short distance down the hill as the man who appeared to have started the fight was thrown to the floor.

He can then be spotted putting his hand out and asking the other man to stop, as other tourists come over to break the fight up.

Both men then got up and returned to safety while continuing to bicker as the footage cuts.

The Pedra do Telegrafo, located at the summit of Morro de Guaratiba, is situated in the Pedra Branca State Park, within the sector of wild beaches in Barra de Guaratiba.

Its name originates from the time of World War II when the area served as a military station.

The 2.2-mile hike up to the summit takes visitors to an altitude of about 1160 ft above sea level.

It is one of the most popular photoshoot destinations in the world.

At time of publication, #pedradotelegrafo has been included in over 165,000 posts on Instagram.

Incredible moment crocodiles HELP stray dog in their river by nudging it to safety with their noses instead of eating it

  • Stray dog ran into crocodile infested river after being chased by pack of dogs

A stray dog that was quickly surrounded by three crocodiles as soon as it ran into their river may have thought that it wouldn’t survive another minute.

But in an astonishing turn of events, two of the crocodiles decided to nudge the young stray, which had jumped into the river to escape a pack of feral dogs, to safety with their snouts.

Experts say that instead of devouring the stray dog, the marsh crocodiles ‘guided’ it away from where the barking pack of dogs were waiting for it on the river bank in the state of Maharashtra, western India

‘These crocodiles were actually touching the dog with their snout and nudging it to move further for a safe ascent on the bank and eventually escape,’ the scientists wrote in a report published in the Journal of Threatened Taxa.

‘Given that the crocodile was well within the striking range and could have easily devoured the dog, yet none of them attacked and instead chose to nudge it towards the bank, implies that the hunger drive was absent.’

The scientists are still unsure as to why the marsh crocodiles, which can weigh up to 1,000 pounds, didn’t see it as an opportunity to eat the dog.

But they say that marsh crocodiles, known as muggers, are not always aggressive and that their emotional intelligence could have been on display in this case.

‘Emotional empathy’, which allows a species ‘to experience feelings for another’, has not been investigated in the muggers, the scientists said.

‘The curious case of a dog “rescued” by the group of crocodiles reported her seems more on lines of empathy than altruistic behaviour,’ they said.

The scientists added: ‘Reptiles have been underestimated as far as animal cognition is concerned.’

Marsh crocodiles are most commonly found in India and adult males can reach up to 18ft in length and weight up to 1,000 pounds.

The researchers also detailed how they made the ‘curious’ discovery that marsh crocodiles also adore marigolds. They said the muggers were often found floating and banking in the yellow flowers along Savitri river.

They believed that this could be due to the properties of the flower, which would help protect the crocodiles from fungi and bacteria.

‘This behaviour is novel and intriguing,’ the researchers said while adding the behaviour needed further investigation.’

ALEX BRUMMER: Rupert Murdoch’s retirement is a signal moment

The departure of Rupert Murdoch from his two core media groups Fox in the US and News Corp is a signal moment.

There is to be no succession struggle for the time being, with eldest son Lachlan taking the helm.

But with three other siblings having voting stock in a Nevada-based family trust, an eventual challenge cannot be ruled out.

The scale of the empire is much diminished. Murdoch completed one of the deals of this century when he sold most of US entertainment empire to Disney in what was billed as a $71.3billion (£57.5billion) deal in 2019.

It was a top-of-the-market transaction and Disney has struggled ever since to make it work amid a subsiding share price and the return of chief executive Bob Iger.

Stepping down: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is retiring after 70 years - with second son Lachlan to take over the family dynasty

The other coup was the sale of Britain’s Sky to American cable giant Comcast for $39billion (£31.5billion) a year earlier.

Murdoch’s willingness to take brave, far reaching decisions in a fast changing world of media and communications largely went unsung. Instead, he is often cast in the media as an evil genius with too much political power.

The rump of Rupert Murdoch’s media empire will need some reshaping. The Fox Corp’s alliance with Donald Trump has cost it dearly.

Earlier this year, it forked out $800million (£645million) in a legal battle with election equipment supplier Dominion over the network’s alleged spread of voting conspiracy theories.

Fox news channels remain immensely popular, when rivals such as CNN are languishing.

However, so called ‘cord cutting’ is challenging the cable subscription model. The popularity of streaming services and the challenge of how to make a profitable transition is very real.

The change of leadership will also put News Corp – owner of the Sun, Times and Wall Street Journal – in the frame for change.

The titles are all engaged in what is proving a fertile conversion from paper to digital. But the shadow of the phone hacking past of the Sun still hangs over that title.

Newspapers are deeply embedded in the Murdoch DNA. But the transition to the next generation won’t be entirely smooth.

Generation game

A larger and more resilient economy is delivering the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt higher receipts than projected at the time of the March budget, and enabling him to build a mini war-chest.

Main drivers are PAYE receipts and VAT both of which tell us the economy is not down and out.

Inheritance taxes (IHT), a bugbear for potential Tory voters, also are delivering for the Exchequer at £3.2billion in the April-August period, some £300million up on the comparable period of 2023.

IHT is often not very high on the agenda of most ordinary citizens unless they are staring their maker in the eye.

It is also one of those taxes which may not be on the radar of younger Britons as they wrestle with student loans, climbing the housing ladder and all the struggles which are seen as stirring inter-generational conflict.

This is a nonsense. The immediate offspring of the baby boomers and their grandchildren should pay close attention.

Many worry about what has become known in the US as SKI-ing, Spending the Kids Inheritance, but they might be wiser to focus on IHT.

The accidental wealth accumulated in the residential housing market, together with some handsome pension pots, has driven a whole new cohort into inheritance tax brackets.

Indeed, in spite of all the moans about inter-generational unfairness, many offspring and grandchildren are already benefiting from accidental wealth through the established route of the bank of Mum and Dad or ‘educational’ assistance out of income.

Nevertheless, as the grim reaper arrives for the boomers, the prospect of HMRC grabbing the family nest-egg ought to be as of much concern to younger voters as the silver surfers. That is why an end to IHT or bigger reliefs could be such a vote winner.

Simon says

Profit upgrades at Next are a feature of Simon Wolfson’s cautious style of management. So the latest raised profits guidance, from £845million to £875million is not a surprise.

It also shows that in spite of the Wilko debacle, Britons are still defying the cost of living crisis and scanning their debit and credit cards.

As interesting is Wolfson’s clear-headed take on supply chains. His analysis shows that the impact of the great inflation is fading fast. Other FTSE firms, which prioritise PR guff, could learn.

Russell Brand was called out by a furious Sir Rod Stewart at the 2006 GQ Men Of The Year Awards after telling the audience he had slept with the singer’s model daughter Kimberly.

The comedian, now 48, is currently facing allegations of sexual assaults and abusive and predatory behaviour between 2006 and 2013, when he was at the height of his fame, following Saturday’s bombshell Dispatches documentary. He has denied the allegations.

When taking to the stage at the bash to collect his gong Russell made a very crude remark saying: ‘Here’s to Rod Stewart who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising’.

Before adding: ‘But then again I did have a go on his daughter’.

When Sir Rod, now 78, then collected his own trophy he made a point of blasting Russell for his comment.

Addressing him directly, the Maggie May hitmaker said: ‘You went with my daughter, did you? Russell, stand up.’

The comedian then seemingly lost all his bravado and could be heard sheepishly mumbling: ‘I took her out for one evening’.

A fuming Rod asked if Russell had behaved himself on said evening with the former Big Brother host backtracking and saying: ‘I never touched that girl’.

‘F***ing right you didn’t’ Rod snapped, ‘You mustn’t come up here and boast. I speak here as a father.’

Rod – who has eight children in total – shares Kimberly, now 44, and son Sean, 43, with ex-wife Alana, 78.

Brand reportedly attempted to make amends following the tense moment and the pair could be seen sharing a smile following the awards ceremony.

Rod later told the Evening Standard: ‘[Russell] might be a bit of a player but he shouldn’t boast. I never did. Russell’s been a bit timid since I had my say.’

One woman has alleged Brand raped her in his Los Angeles home, while another accused him of grooming her as they were involved in an allegedly ’emotionally abusive and controlling relationship’ for three months when she was just 16 and still at school, and he was 31.

A third accuser claimed the comic sexually assaulted her while she worked with him in Los Angeles, and that he threatened to take legal action if she told anyone else about her allegation, and a fourth detailed the alleged sexual, physical and emotional abuse she was subjected to.

Allegations about Russell‘s ‘sinister’ behaviour towards women were an ‘open secret’ among TV and radio executives, it has been claimed.

Bosses at the BBC and Channel 4 are accused of turning a blind eye towards the entertainer’s behaviour while he worked for them as a presenter between 2006 and 2013.

The broadcasters have insisted they took all necessary steps over him, but executives could still be called before a Government select committee where MPs will grill them over what they knew.

Brand has been accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse by multiple women, including one who says she was 16 at the time.

His behaviour is alleged to have been common knowledge among female performers on the comedy circuit, who are said to warned each other about him.

rand has posted a video on YouTube and Twitter refuting the allegations and insisted relationships at the time of his promiscuity’ were ‘consensual’.

However, his attitude towards women is alleged to have been an open secret in radio and TV production, according to sources who briefed The Sunday Times

He also has a history of making high-profile and controversial remarks about women on his shows – including calling newsreader Andrea Simmons a ‘sex bomb’ and describing her as ‘erotic’ and saying he wanted to ‘go under the desk’ while she was reading the news.

In 2008 a ferocious public backlash was sparked after Brand and Jonathan Ross called the much-loved Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs during Brand’s show and left lewd messages on his answerphone – including bragging about sex with Sachs’s granddaughter Georgina Baillie, with whom he had a brief relationship.

According to The Sunday Times many believe the BBC should been awake to the concerns about Brand’s behaviour on his show well before the Sachsgate scandal.

Reportedly, a serious complaint was made by BBC staff to the station’s Controller Lesley Douglas about Brand’s behaviour in the studio, in December 2007.

Alice - not her real name - claims that Brand assaulted her when he was 31 and she was 16 and his 'sex addict personality is just a smokescreen for his dark behaviour'

Alice – not her real name – claims that Brand assaulted her when he was 31 and she was 16 and his ‘sex addict personality is just a smokescreen for his dark behaviour’

The Times has reported that the complaint followed an ‘alarming display of aggression and disrespect’ by the radio host where he hurled objects in a fit of rage.

It also reported he urinated in a bottle in full view of production staff and a guest – who ‘appeared to be a minor’ – and had been invited to appear on Radio 2 by a charity.

This alleged complaint and any others that had been made were not mentioned in subsequent official reports into Sachsgate.

Douglas’ lawyers have said she ‘did not at any time encourage, enable and/or fail herself to take any adequate steps within her power with regard to the conduct of Russell Brand of which she was aware’.

‘She is presently unable to provide any further information which may be relevant to the matters raised in this article due to the obligations owed by her to her former employer,’ her lawyers added.

Brand left the BBC after the serious editorial breach in 2008 as did Douglas.

Grim footage has emerged showing a woman who claims to sprinkle her brother’s ashes into a busy swimming pool at a club in Ibiza.

In a post she shared on TikTok, the woman appears to scatter a grey dusty substance in the shallow waters at the popular party venue, Ushuaia.

As she pours she dances along to the music in the background and is surrounded by unsuspecting revellers.

She then smiles and laughs at the camera before continuing to party.

In her post she says: ‘Just me sprinkling my brother about Ushuaia.’

TikTok users appeared disgusted, with some commenting that her behaviour was ‘dirty’.

And X users also commented on the viral video, with one joking: ‘Human ash is probably the last thing to worry about in a pool in Ibiza.’

Others were confused how the hotel security had not confiscated the small plastic bag from the woman.

The adults-only Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel in the resort of Playa d’en Bossa is incredibly popular among British tourists flocking to Ibiza.

It is considered to have one of the most famous beach dance clubs and can cater for 7,000 revellers.

The poolside parties host world-famous DJs including Calvin Harris and David Guetta.

Revellers travelling to Ibiza have become notorious for bad behaviour over the years – with many getting drunk on ‘party’ flights or being a nuisance late at night at hotel resorts.

Today a mother expressed her horror after shocking footage of her son went viral showing him and a woman ‘he’d only just met at the airport’ exit a plane toilet moments after having sex.

Piers Sawyer, who was celebrating his 23rd birthday, and an unnamed woman were caught in the act by cabin crew member who opened the door to expose the duo during the flight to Ibiza.

The pair were met with applause and cheers of ‘top girl’ as they wandered shamelessly back to their seats.

Now, his mother Elaine has told The Sun she was shocked as the ’embarrassing’ footage of her son was shared by pals and even discussed on ITV‘s Loose Women.

Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel has been approached by MailOnline for comment.

Two easyJet passengers who had sex in a plane toilet on a flight to Ibiza emerged to applause and cheers of ‘top girl’ as they wandered shamelessly back to their seats.

An earlier clip recorded passengers whooping and screaming with delight when a cabin crew member opened the door to expose the duo having sex.

The footage taken on the flight from Luton appears to show the pair were in no mood to stop early, with the man promptly shutting the door again so they could join the so-called ‘Mile High Club’.

A second clip sees the pair waving their arms defiantly with no hint of blushing as they walk down the aisle of the plane to their seats, while thrilled passengers cheered them on.

The plane was met by police when it landed in Ibiza and the duo were led away.

An EasyJet spokesperson told MailOnline the flight was met by police on arrival on the Spanish party island.

Those in the rear seats who watched the situation unfold appeared to find what was happening hilarious and could be seen watching opened mouthed. One woman was heard screaming ‘Oh my f***ing God’, before asking her friend if she had videoed what happened.

But the cabin crew member seemed unsure how to respond and could be seen in the clip holding his head in the hands after catching the couple in the act.

The video has been shared widely on social media, with one user joking: ‘Ryanair would charge extra.’ Another added: ‘Hope that wasn’t the pilot.’

An easyJet spokeswoman told MailOnline: ‘We can confirm that this flight from Luton to Ibiza on September 8 was met by police on arrival due to the behaviour of two passengers onboard.’

The identity of the couple is not known and it has also not been confirmed whether any arrests were made in Ibiza.

Bedfordshire Police, which is responsible for policing at Luton Airport, confirmed to MailOnline that it was not involved in the response.

Section 71 of the Sexual Offences Act 2004 states that it is illegal to have sex in a lavatory to which the public has access.

An Irishman has been arrested in Brussels after breaking off part of a statue outside the city’s Stock Exchange – which had just cost £15,000 to restore.

The building, known as the Bourse, was reopened just a day before the incident on Sunday, following a three-year £77million restoration project.

Shocking video shows the man, who appears to be drunk, climbing up the statue, which is called ‘the hand with a torch’ and is one of two which flank the entrance.

Astonished crowds watched as he clambered on to the sculpture, which depicts a lion and a man holding a torch.

As he goes to dismount the artwork, he grabs on to it to steady himself, snapping the torch and what appears to be part of the arm off as he jumps to the ground.

The man is thought to have been intercepted by police in a nearby fast food restaurant soon after and arrested.

The Stock Exchange now wants to recoup the thousands in damages directly from the man, Belgian media reports.

Nel Vandevennet, who managed the restoration project, told outlet VRT NWS: ‘The repairs are going to cost a lot of money because the work will have to be done by real craftsmen.

‘It is listed heritage and there will be follow-up from the monuments and landscapes agency of the Brussels region.’

Pictures show the erosion suffered by the stone statue before it was restored. Now, it will need to be worked on again.

‘We would like to carry out the repairs quickly, but it will surely take a few weeks or even months,’ said Vandevennet.

‘The whole building has only just been restored to its former glory, including the two lions which were in a bad way.

‘We thought the sculptures would enjoy greater respect. We just think it’s very sad this happened.’

The reopening of the landmark has been highly anticipated in the Belgian city, with guided tours being put on as tourists are welcomed back.

It is not the only attraction to have suffered damage from tourists this summer, with Rome’s Colosseum targeted by a holidaymaker in June.

Ivan Dimitrov, 27, who also goes by the name Ivan Hawkins, was caught on camera by an American tourist as he carved the words, ‘Ivan and Hayley 23’ into the brickwork with a set of keys.

Then in July, a 17-year-old Swiss girl was also caught carving into the walls of the ancient amphitheatre.

Shocking trail cam clip shows the moment a bear and wolf BOTH attack a moose and her calf as they walk through Alaskan wilderness at night

  • The perfectly placed cameras ‘give us a front-row seat to Mother Nature’s drama’

Cameras equipped with censors captured the shocking moment in which a bear and wolf appear to team up in order to ambush a moose and her calf in the Alaska wilderness.

The incident occurred in the three million-acre Glacier Bay National Park, close to the community of Gustavus in the southern part of the state, on the night of August 28, according to the Department of Fish and Game.

The footage begins with the moose and her calf walking through the brush when a brown bear launches an attack from the left. The mother lunges back with a dropkick to deflect the bear from her offspring.

That’s when a wolf appears from behind the bear and pursues the now unguarded calf.

‘Witness the intense moment when prey and predators come face-to-face in this clip! This camera was perfectly positioned along a popular animal travel corridor, giving us a front-row seat to Mother Nature’s drama,’ Alaska officials wrote in a Facebook post.

‘It’s this fantastic, phenomenal dynamic going on in wild Alaska that makes this place so special,’ conservationist Rick Steiner told Live Science upon seeing the clip.

One expert said that his money would be on the moose in the battle with the bear

One Facebook commenter wrote: ‘Dang. Bears and wolves working together??’

‘It does look coordinated… but impossible to know for sure,’ the Alaska Department of Fish and Game replied.

Steiner told Live Science that ‘the bear was certainly aware of the wolf; the wolf was certainly aware of the bear.’

He added that it’s likely that the wolf was ‘shadowing’ the brown bear along with other wolves who are not seen in the video.

In the battle between the moose and bear, Steiner said: ‘I’d put my money on the moose in that one.’ He added that after fending off the bear, the moose would have gone after her calf where she would be the favorite again.

‘An adult moose is a formidable adversary for anything,’ he said.

The wolf and the brown bear are natural predators of the moose. The steered animals are considered wolves’ primary food source.

It’s not clear what fate befell the two moose.

The cameras were set up as part of a study on the wolves’ predatory behavior in the park.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, there are between 7,000 and 11,000 wolves in the state. Most live in packs of between 20 and 30 with a hierarchy.

Brown bears on the other hand are generally sole hunters, the main exception for this is when they hunt with the mother of their cubs. There are 30,000 bears in Alaska, around 98 percent of the national population of bears in the US.

This is the shocking moment a Spanish television journalist was accosted and sexually assaulted by a man today while she was reporting live from Madrid.

Isa Balado was delivering a report involving a local convenience store when the man approached her from the rear and grabbed her backside, footage shows.

Despite the interruption, Balado kept her composure and told the man to let her ‘do my job’. Despite her pleas, the stranger persisted and even brazenly touched her hair as he walked away, before coming back again to continue talking to her.

The man was later arrested by police, with Spain‘s national force posting a video to social media that showed officers walking him into a police station.

Balado was reporting from Calle del Duque de Alba, a street that runs through the centre of Madrid, when the assault occurred.

She was reporting about an incident which happened on Sunday in a shop that’s shown behind her in the clip. The news report was showing CCTV footage from inside the shop, with Balado describing the events over the top.

As she is talking to the camera for news station En Boca De Todos (On everyone’s lips), the man – wearing white shorts, a blue jacket and dark sunglasses – is seen coming up the street behind the reporter.

Without saying a word, he reaches behind Balado and touches her backside.

Visibly flustered, Balado tries to continue with her report, saying: ‘Sorry, one minute’ before telling the man: ‘We are live on TV.’

But presenter Nacho Abad, the anchor back in the studio, asks Balado: ‘Isa, sorry to interrupt you. The sound is really bad. Did he just touch your a**?’

The uncomfortable young reporter tells the presenter that the man did indeed touch her, and the camera adjusts to show both Balado and the man.

It appears that the man is asking her what television station she works for, prompting Balado to tell him: ‘As much as you want to know which TV station we are, do you really have to grope me? I’m working on a live report.’

Responding to the accusation, the man tells her: ‘I haven’t touched your a**.’

‘Yes you did,’ Balado replies, as someone on the street suggests calling the police.

Balado again asks the man to leave her alone so she can continue her work, as Abad is heard calling the man ‘a complete imbecile’ in the studio.

‘I didn’t want to touch your a**. I respect you, you know, I wouldn’t touch your a**,’ the stranger says, again prompting the reporter to tell him to ‘let me work’.

As he begins to walk away, the man reaches in again, this time to touch Balado on her head. ‘Is this guy stupid or what?’ Abad is heard saying.

In a second clip, the presenter is heard speaking to his colleague over the broadcast, telling her: ‘Isa, I understand that for you this is an extremely uncomfortable moment, and [an] absolutely disgusting situation.’

Balado is seen back on the same street speaking to a woman about the incident, slightly further up from the store she had been standing in front of.

The woman next to her suggests his actions were ‘normal’ for that area of the city.

‘It’s not something about me, it’s happening to all the girls he is encountering. It’s very disgusting as I am trying to work,’ Balado says as the camera moves again and films the man bothering another person on the street.

‘As you can see, there he is. He is accompanied with another man wearing a hat. He probably doesn’t have anything to do all day,’ the reporter says, as the man again approaches her from behind.

Abad warns his colleague that he’s coming back, saying: ‘Isa, turn around, turn around, he is approaching you again. He is behind you, quick, turn around!’

The man again starts talking to Balado, and – perhaps realising he’s been caught red-handed on television – appears to be protesting his innocence and calling her baby.

‘I heard what you said earlier… Tell them the truth!’ he says. ‘What do you mean to tell the truth?’ Balado shoots back, before the presenter ends the broadcast.

While the identity of the man is unknown, Spain’s national police released a short clip later on Tuesday afternoon showing the same man – in a blue jacket and white shorts – being led into a police station having been arrested.

‘Arrested for sexually assaulting a reporter while she was doing a live television show,’ the police force said in the Tweet.

Abad later revealed on air that it was the program that had taken action and called the police. ‘We have called them because they have to act. We hope to have the images of the arrest of this unpresentable person,’ he said.

Another reporter for the channel, Diego Losada, said: ‘Our colleague was doing her job and an individual, with a smile, touched her buttocks without her consent. The important thing is that this disgusting individual is now arrested.’

He also called for justice over the incident, and said: ‘We condemn all types of aggression and in this case it has hit us very closely, because attacking Isa is like attacking any of us. In a society that we want to be better this cannot happen and This feeling of impunity cannot exist.

‘This is a lack of respect and I hope that the full weight of the law falls on him.’

The shocking incident comes in the wake of a scandal surrounding the head of the Spanish football association, Luis Rubiales, that rocked Spain.

Rubiales announced on Sunday that he was stepping down from the position after he kissed player Jenni Hermoso in the aftermath of her country winning the Women’s World Cup in August, sparking outrage at home and abroad.

Today, Rubiales was ordered to give testimony to a Spanish judge investigating the kiss. Rubiales says she had consented to the kiss, but Hermoso has denied that.

Judge Francisco de Jorge ordered Rubiales to answer his questions on Friday at Spain’s National Court in Madrid, according to court documents seen by The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Spanish state prosecutors formally accused Rubiales last week of alleged sexual assault and an act of coercion when, according to Hermoso, he pressured her to speak out in his defense immediately after the scandal erupted.

Rubiales announced on Sunday that he was resigning from his post, from which he had already been provisionally suspended by FIFA.

While the identity of the man is unknown, Spain's national police released a short clip (pictured) later on Tuesday afternoon showing the same man - in a blue jacket and white shorts - being led into a police station having been arrested

While the identity of the man is unknown, Spain’s national police released a short clip (pictured) later on Tuesday afternoon showing the same man – in a blue jacket and white shorts – being led into a police station having been arrested

De Jorge is carrying out the preliminary investigation into the accusations against Rubiales, and will then decide whether the case should go to trial.

According to a sexual consent law passed in Spain last year, Rubiales could face a fine or a prison sentence of one to four years if found guilty of sexual assault.

The new law eliminated the difference between ‘sexual harassment’ and ‘sexual assault,’ sanctioning any non-consensual sexual act.

The incident has proven to be somewhat of a ‘Me Too’ movement in Spain, empowering many women to come forward with their own experiences, and has shone a spotlight on the issue of sexual assault.
