The Prince and Princess of Wales today helped children prepare food around a campfire on a royal visit to a primary school.

William and Kate looked right at home as they threw themselves into action at a Forest School in Hereford, where pupils attend once a week to learn in a woodland environment.

Run by Madley Primary School, it also allows children to be taught about key issues like environmental awareness, conservation and woodland management.

The Waleses, who were gifted books for their children, George, Charlotte and Louis on arrival, took part in skimming bark off logs before crouching down and using a saw to help make a tree den.

But there were laughs when an enthusiastic William accidentally knocked a branch off the den while inspecting it, before hastily putting it back in its place.

Before leaving the site, they told staff and pupils: ‘More schools need the opportunity to do things like this.’

The Duchy of Cornwall and Madley Primary School have been partners of the Forest School initiative for the last 12 years as the Duchy supplied Madley Primary School with a woodland site at Brampton Hill Wood in order to enable the Forest School to take place in Hereford. 

Over the subsequent years, due the school’s expansion, the woodland area that the Duchy provides has increased, along with the facilities available.

After visiting the school, William and Kate headed to Kings Pitt Farm, to meet with Duchy of Cornwall farming tenants, Sam and Emily Stables. 

Following struggles with their own mental wellbeing and seeing the stigma around mental health in the farming industry, Sam and Emily founded We Are Farming Minds, a charity working to support the mental health of farmers in rural communities throughout the county. 

It offers Herefordshire farmers fully funded access to a range of services including counselling, a 24-hour phone and text support line, free mental health awareness workshops and social events throughout the year to break feelings of isolation. 

The Duchy of Cornwall is working closely with We are Farming Minds to enhance its new Mental Health Strategy which provides ongoing mental health support to all its tenants, with a specific focus on tenants in rural and more isolated communities. 

Their appearances today come amid claims that Prince Harry’s deep rift with his family is casting a shadow over the Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex‘s time with the Army in Afghanistan inspired him to launch the sporting event in 2014 but William and Kate were central to its initial success. 

The couple’s now-defunct foundation, which they formed with the duke, hoovered up sponsors and spent huge sums of cash to get Invictus up and running.

Nine years ago Harry, his father and brother stood united as they attended the opening ceremony and multiple events at the games in London – but the new King and his heir have had zero involvement since Harry met Meghan.

Despite Harry’s passion for Invictus, which is growing in size, officials say there have been plenty of spare seats at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf. Some believe the involvement of King Charles, William and Kate would change that.

The Waleses have both been at the Rugby World Cup in France in the past week while Charles and Queen Camilla and other senior royals have been at the Highland Games. 

One Team GB insider told The Daily Telegraph: ‘The athletes find it bizarre but don’t want to get caught up in the royal crossfire.’ 

This year’s games in Germany are the biggest ever, involving 22 nations and 500-plus athletes. Harry has been there from start to finish, joining the applause, dancing in the crowd and joking about going out on the beers at the end of the day.

He was in high spirits in the days before Meghan arrived, high-fiving children and singing Sweet Caroline. 

But there has been no word from his family in the UK. 

Palace sources reportedly say that Royal Family members never involve themselves in others’ professional endeavours, and they would not expect the duke to voice support for William’s Earthshot Prize, for example.

One critic of Harry said: ‘Harry has never supported any of [the] latest [of] William’s projects, not Earthshot when he is president of African Parks and an advocate for climate change… but they insist William must support Invictus. I’m so tired of this nonsense.’

Kate Middleton was seen kneeling down to speak children as they handed her flowers during a seaweed farm visit on the anniversary of the Queen’s death. 

The Princess of Wales, 41, was joined by Prince William as they visited Câr-Y-Môr Seaweed Farm – the first ‘regenerative ocean farm’ in Wales – this afternoon.

Before they left Kate was presented with a posy by four-year-old Isla Evans-Kohler, the daughter of deputy coxswain Judd Kohler and crew member Ellen Evans.

While William was given a jar of St Davids wild honey by her younger brother Albie Evans-Kohler, aged two, who was wearing a Welsh rugby shirt.

Kate asked Isla if she had been on the lifeboat. The little girl shook her head and her mother explained she had been on the boat but not out on the water, while Albie interjected and said: ‘Me.’

Kate then asked him: ‘Have you been on the boat? It goes very fast, and your daddy has got a very cool job.’

Albie then started mimicking the boat’s siren and the princess said: ‘I didn’t hear the siren, but it was a lovely day on the water. Thank you very much for coming to see us.’

William told Albie he ‘loved’ his rugby shirt as the boy gave him the honey.

‘Do you like honey? It is very yummy. Do you like rugby too? First game on Sunday,’ William said.

The couple met with staff and volunteers at the farm, learning about the impact their work has on the ocean environment.

They then took a boat out onto the farm to see the seaweed lines. 

The Prince quipped that seaweed produced at a seaweed farm off the Welsh coast tasted salty when asked what it was like to eat.

William made the comment to veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards, saying: ‘What did the seaweed taste like?’

He replied: ‘Salty.’

The company also supports the local community through job creation, supply of fresh local seafood and environmental restoration. 

In June 2022, following two years of research, the company installed a three-hectare ocean farm where various species of seaweed, mussels, native oysters, and scallops are grown. 

Notpla, which produces plastic-free consumer packaging made from seaweed and plants, is a key investor in Câr-Y-Môr. 

Among its innovations, Notpla replaces plastic-lined takeaway boxes and other disposable plastic items such as cutlery. 

The London-based start-up won the 2022 Earthshot Prize in the ‘Build a Waste-Free World’ category and received a visit by The Prince of Wales in May 2023. 

Kate opted for a £350 Troy London parker for the occasion, recycling a piece she was first seen in six years ago during the couple’s royal tour of Canada.

She paired the trendy jacket with a white t-shirt and her £96 G-star Cargo trousers, which have also been a favourite of hers in recent years.

Earlier in the day, the Princess had opted for a smart burgundy coat from London-based designer Eponine.

The Princess opted for natural makeup for the outing today to the sea farm, and swept her hair up into an intricate updo, revealing a pair of gold hoop earrings.

The royal finished off her outfit with a pair of casual white Veja trainers which she has worn on a number of occasions.

After the tour of the farm, the Royal couple transferred from the barge onto the St Davids Lifeboat where they returned to shore to meet members of the lifeboat station crew.

Queen Elizabeth II was patron of the RNLI from 1952 until her death last year.

Earlier in the day, Kate made a sweet tribute to the late Queen as she sported her earrings to a memorial service to mark the first anniversary of her death.

Kate, 41, paired the diamond and pearl drop earrings with a burgundy coat from London-based designer Eponine for the church service at St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire. 

She added to her eco-credentials with a recycled Mulberry bag she’s worn several times since 2017 and Gianvito Rossi heels, which are also a repeat wear. 

The royal wore the coat to her Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in London in 2022, while she’s worn the earrings to pay tribute to Her Majesty before, including during a Remembrance Sunday service in 2020.  

Both Kate and the Queen have chosen the earrings before to wear on particularly special occasions, with the Duchess choosing the set to leave the Lindo Wing with Prince Louis in 2018.

The Queen sported the earrings for a service of thanksgiving and carriage procession during her Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012.

And Kate chose them for a day of engagements in The Netherlands in 2016, her first official solo overseas visit without Prince William.

Kate stepped out with her husband Prince William to mark the one year anniversary of Her Majesty’s death.

Elsewhere, Prince Harry made a shock and secret visit to the Windsor church where the Queen was laid to rest.

A number of members of the Royal Family are understood to have visited the chapel today. Harry remains close to his cousins Beatrice and Eugenie but it is not yet known if they and others paid their respects together.

The King and Queen today attended a special service at Crathie Kirk to commemorate the life of the late Queen Elizabeth – and appeared moved by warm-wishes from crowds who also gathered to mark the anniversary of her death.

Charles and Camilla made the short journey by car from the nearby Balmoral Estate to the Scottish church, where successive monarchs have worshiped since Queen Victoria.

The couple spoke to crowds outside afterwards who shared their condolences and handed them bouquets and cards. The King told them that the flowers were ‘wonderful’ and joked with children about getting back to school.

Other royals were also at the service, including the Queen’s great nephews Samuel and Arthur Chatto, sons of Lady Sarah and Daniel Chatto, who also went. And staff from Balmoral, the beloved Scottish home of the Queen where she died, also attended, walking to and from the service in the September sunshine.

The Prince and Princess of Wales travelled to St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire – exactly a year since the nation’s longest-reigning monarch died at Balmoral aged 96.

Crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of their arrival in the grounds of the cathedral from dawn, but they had to wait in the sunshine after fog nearby meant the couple’s helicopter had to be rerouted and their arrival delayed by more than an hour.

William and Kate had been due to arrive at 12.25pm, but eventually turned up around 1.30pm and greeted well-wishers before walking inside for the ten-minute service. One well-wisher could be heard shouting towards William: ‘You’re doing a great job!’

During the service, the Very Revd Dr Sarah Rowland Jones, Dean of St Davids, said: ‘It is particularly poignant to welcome you here, Your Royal Highnesses, on Accession Day, the first anniversary of the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

‘She came here four times: the only monarch to sit in the Sovereign’s stall, the seat of a Chapter member which came into the possession of the Crown at the Reformation.

‘Today countless numbers will be remembering her with both sadness and with great affection, giving thanks again for her long life of dedicated service – as we do here.’

Harry Kane has touched down in Germany with wife Katie Goodland ahead of a medical at Bayern Munich and a £100m transfer to the Bundesliga champions.

The England striker landed in a private jet just after 7pm local time (6pm BST) at the Oberpfaffenhofen airport, south of Munich, before he was whisked away in a red Audi e-tron for his medical.

Dozens of Bayern fans and journalists gathered around the perimeter to try and catch a glimpse of Kane and his entourage arriving but were not able to see anything as he landed on the far side of the air strip frequently used by VIPs.

The car was then seen arriving at the Brothers of Charity Hospital in Munich where the striker is expected to undergo a medical ahead of the completed deal.

The England striker earlier jetted off form Stanstead Airport hours later than expected due to hold-ups – prompting jokes from the German media about the time it has taken to get the deal over the line.

The sporting press in the country has continued to make ‘gags’ about British cuisine ahead of welcoming the England captain to the league, poking fun at Britons who ‘put mint sauce on their food’.

While Kane was in the air Bayern fans have already been pictured getting their hands on the striker’s expected ‘nummer neun’ shirt ahead of the transfer. 

Photos earlier showed Kane heading to a jet that had been parked on the tarmac at the London airport for hours as negotiations between the two top-flight sides went down to the wire. His wife Katie, a professional fitness coach, was pictured following closely behind. 

Kane, 30, has been chased by the Bundesliga champions all summer before finally having a £104million bid accepted yesterday by Tottenham, his boyhood club. He is set to earn an estimated £400,000 a week if the deal goes through. 

In a dramatic twist, sources claimed Spurs had blocked Kane from boarding the plane while its chairman Daniel Levy – a notoriously tough negotiator – sought to agree last-minute changes to the deal.

But the issues have now been resolved and Kane is now set to leave shortly to seal his move to the German giants – five hours later than planned. He had been due to arrive in Munich at 10am local time. 

Quizzed by journalists this morning, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel revealed the deal still had not been concluded. 

He said: ‘You probably know more than I do about where he is and what he is doing right now. We’re working hard on it. I can confirm that. But as long as there is no agreement, the coach will not talk about it.’

As the deal nears completion, German publication Frankfurter Rundschau decided to launch an attack on British food and hammer home the German ‘joke’ that mint sauce is poured on everything in the UK to make it taste better.

The article said: ‘For the English Premier League, which starts the season this Friday, Harry Kane is a bitter loss. Unpleasant enough for the powerhouse of world football that a global opponent is currently emerging in Saudi Arabia for whom there really are no financial limits. 

‘And while the Premier League remains the most exciting league for now, the fact that the second-best goalscorer in league history prefers to continue his career on the continent doesn’t sit well with the English. But what do they like? A little mint sauce on it, then it will work again.’

The same newspaper did not try and hide their delight at waving goodbye to the transfer saga in a bizarre rant referencing Stockholm Syndrome. They wrote: ‘So goodbye, Kane transfer. We will miss you. We will miss you like a hostage misses their hostage taker. 

‘Like getting lost in a wondrous maze, that’s how it was with you, Kane-Transfer, and in between you almost forgot that it would eventually end after all. 

‘It no longer seemed to be a question of footballer Harry Kane moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich or maybe not. No, the Kane transfer became an end in itself, it became a self-sufficient genre within the professional football genre, a cross-media theatre play.’

It also accused ‘hard Levy’ of going soft by allowing Kane to leave, writing: ‘And finally Tottenham boss Levy, the old bastard who didn’t want to let poor Harry go to Munich.’

Bild, Germany’s biggest newspaper, also weighed in on the monumental transfer – strongly defending the amount Bayern are spending.

One article said: ‘Is it madness to pay €100m for a 30-year-old who would be available for free in 2024? I say no. Harry Kane is rightly worth so much money to Bayern .

It also said: ‘Bayern is buying a world-class player at the peak of his career.’ It added: ‘Whether 80, 90 or 100 million euros – from the point of view of a rich club like Bayern, that shouldn’t make any difference if you are convinced that you can fill one of the most important positions perfectly for four years. 

‘It would be downright negligent to let such a strategic decision fail because of a few million.’

Bild went on to say that Bayern Munich have failed in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the past three seasons and that Kane’s fee would be refinanced if he can fire them to the semi-finals every year.

The defensive article added: ‘The whole Bundesliga will benefit from Kane’s popularity. 100 million euros is a hell of a lot of money. But FC Bayern invested it damn well.’

Another German publication had a more pessimistic view of the signing, as they referenced AI evaluations which claimed Kane will have ‘no positive influence’ on Bayern Munich.

The article said: ‘If it is up to the artificial intelligence of the company “Plaier”, which publishes the podcast “Maik mit AI” together with football presenter Maik Nöcker , then nothing will happen at FC Bayern.’

It added that AI said the fee was ‘far too high’. ‘Based on the database, a transfer fee of 64 million euros would have been appropriate due to his age and the short contract period,’ it added.

‘Former Bayern professional Markus Babbel also thinks the transfer fee is far too high. “I’m not completely convinced. I’ve seen a lot of Tottenham games and they just play different football than Bayern ,” he said in an interview with ran.’

Kane’s future has been a subject of fascination ever since 2021 when he first announced his intention to leave Tottenham to give him the chance of winning silverware – something that has repeatedly eluded the North London club. 

His fate has attracted the attention of many with only a passing interest in football due to his status as England’s captain – and the national side’s all-time record goalscorer. 

Kane’s repeated attempts to leave Tottenham have been one of English football’s longest running transfer sagas. 

The striker first opened up on the issue in 2021, telling Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville that he’d informed Daniel Levy about his intention to walk away. 

‘For sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to kind of reflect and see where I’m at and have a good, honest conversation with the chairman,’ he said at the time. 

That summer Kane was set to go to Manchester City on a reported £400,000-a-week contract, but the move never materialised. 

He was the subject of interest from Manchester United earlier in the summer, but they opted instead to target less costly alternatives in a bid to stay within their transfer budget.

Levy is believed to value the striker closer to £120m, leading him to resist any deal below this level. 

But he hand may have been forced by the fact that Kane is about to enter the final year of his Tottenham contract, meaning he would be free to leave for nothing in 12 months’ time.  

Bayern were ecstatic when Spurs reported their offer for Kane, with executive board member Andreas Jung calling the moment ‘something special’ for the club. 

‘It is the first time that we pay on that level for a player,’ he said.

‘For us, it is something special. It shows we are competitive with the others. We will have a team that has the chance to win in every competition.’ 

The Tottenham star’s future in north London has been the centre of debate this summer following weeks of negotiations between club chiefs. 

After agreeing a £100million fee, Mail Sport revealed that talks between Bayern, Tottenham and Kane were taking place late into Thursday as they looked to finalise a deal.

There were hopes in Germany that Kane’s deal would be announced today and that the player would be officially unveiled prior to the German Super Cup tomorrow. 

Mail Sport understands that Kane would have needed to be registered by 2pm (UK time) to play against RB Leipzig tomorrow, a deadline he is now unlikely to meet.

After the two parties struck a deal, Mail Sport revealed that contractual and financial points between Kane and Tottenham were still being concluded on Thursday, while issues related to the distribution of intermediary fees were also being ironed out.

Bayern have been very public in their pursuit of Kane, with honorary president Uli Hoeness and chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen both commenting on the striker.

It has left Kane in an uncomfortable situation and frustrated Tottenham in the process.

Rumours Kane was about to move to Bayern intensified late last month when his pregnant wife Katie Goodland was spotted scouting for homes in the city, according to local media. 

Earlier this week, a new report claimed that the club had already secured a luxury villa for him in Grunwald, a millionaire’s enclave of Grunwald to the south of the city. 

The secluded town, dubbed the ‘Bavarian Hollywood’ is ranked as Germany’s wealthiest municipality.

And if Kane does accept Bayern’s offer of the luxury village, the family will be settling in with the club’s current winger, Leroy Sane, and its former chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich also moved into the posh suburb recently, according to Bild.  

Grünwald properties currently available include a Bauhaus villa, with a home cinema, sauna, jacuzzi, outdoor and indoor swimming pools with a sprawling garden. 

Another six-bed property, going for £5.5million features a fireplace, indoor pool, sauna, spa and home gym. 

While some homes appear to be flash, white mansions, looking as though they belong in California’s Beverly Hills, others homes seem to be inspired by Alpine chalets, with roofs that appear to look thatched. 

Some designs on the Meleven development, priced at £18million, are described as ‘art lovers’ homes’, kitted out with wooden beams, glass ceilings and plush gardens.

The town, which is located 12km southeast of Munich, is Germany’s third largest city.

While full of glitz and glam, it is perhaps best known for Oktoberfest, a 16-day bacchanal of beer, bangers and brass bands.

Despite its name the festival actually begins in September, and now attracts six million visitors to the city.

Footballers at Bayern are also among those the festival attracts onto the streets, with stars including Thomas Mueller, Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka all making appearances in recent years.

Last year the entire team dressed in traditional Lederhosen to get into the Bavarian spirit for a photoshoot.

As she celebrated her 50th birthday last week, Kate Beckinsale proved that she can look and act like a woman half her age – a priceless talent for an actress in Hollywood where turning 30 can be career suicide.

‘What a party – full of love and glitter and the best people,’ the Oxford-educated actress wrote on Instagram.

Ms Beckinsale is one of the most successful British actresses in Hollywood, yet it has been 11 years since she last appeared in a film that earned more than $100 million (£78 million): the remake of Total Recall.

She won Best Actress honours two years running in Britain’s National Film Awards, but neither movie was a box office success: 2021 racial drama Farming earned only £70,000 worldwide, and Jolt took £187,000 last year.

London-born Ms Beckinsale has appeared in commercials for Gap denim, Diet Coke and Lux shampoo, advertised Absolut vodka and Nestle, was the first US brand ambassador for home appliance maker Russell Hobbs, and since 2021 has been the face of MRVL Skin Solutions, a skincare line.

On Instagram she has given shout-outs to places and products including the Castle Elvira luxury hotel in Puglia, Italy; Julia Clancey clothing; Jane Doe Latex dresses; Candy Ice Jewellery; Les Girls Les Boys clothing; and Carversteak at Resorts World in Las Vegas.

Her red carpet appearances at fashion shows, including Chanel, Elie Saab and Bulgari jewellery, may also have been lucrative.

‘Her story serves as a reminder that success in the entertainment industry isn’t always a straightforward path,’ says Los Angeles talent manager Wendy Alane Wright.

‘Throughout her career she has worked and collaborated with incredible co-stars on ambitious projects, even if they didn’t achieve the desired level of success.’

Talent manager Chris Wright says: ‘She’s a better actress than she gets the credit for. She’s been unfortunate that some of the films that were supposed to make a difference in her career didn’t do so. Yet even her not-so-good movies are ones that everyone remembers, such as Pearl Harbor.’

The daughter of Porridge star Richard Beckinsale, who died in 1979 at the age of 31 when Kate was only five, she made her film debut in Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing. 

The 2001 blockbuster Pearl Harbor, where she appeared alongside Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett, was expected to launch a stellar screen career.

‘Pearl Harbor was a costly missed opportunity,’ says Wendy Wright. ‘Critics panned the film and audiences were left unimpressed.’

Ms Beckinsale next starred in romantic comedy Serendipity but, says Wendy Wright, it ‘failed to make a lasting impression’.

She then turned to action adventure with the 2003 hit Underworld, falling in love with its director, Len Wiseman. Previously she had been in a long relationship with Welsh actor Michael Sheen, with whom she has a 24-year-old daughter.

Underworld spawned four lucrative sequels, but though the vampire saga developed a cult following, it struggled to resonate with a broader audience, says Wendy Wright. 

‘Kate’s connection to the series’ director, whom she was married to at the time, kept her tied to the project for more years than she may have otherwise chosen.’ Ms Beckinsale and Wiseman married but divorced after 15 years in 2019.

Hollywood’s increasing focus on big-budget blockbusters also limited Ms Beckinsale’s opportunities. ‘Kate Beckinsale has appeared at her best in small indie films,’ says another Hollywood talent manager.

Yet her evergreen popularity makes her highly marketable beyond Hollywood. ‘The magic of celebrity influencer marketing is no passing trend, and there’s no better example than Kate Beckinsale,’ says Stacy Jones, chief executive officer of leading pop culture marketing agency Hollywood Branded.

‘What makes Kate’s online presence a goldmine for marketers is not just her massive follower count. Based predominantly in the US but extending across the UK, Brazil, Mexico, and India, her followers provide a vast, engaged and demographically diverse market.’

Ms Beckinsale credits her age-defying beauty to genetics and occasional ‘facials with platelet-rich plasma’. She insists: ‘No thread lift, no Botox, no laser, no nose job, no filler.’

Stacy Jones adds: ‘What sets Kate Beckinsale apart is the trust and personal connection she fosters with her followers. That trust is marketing gold.’

Talent manager Chris Wright is optimistic about her future. ‘There are still roles for her that encompass danger, beauty, sexuality, and her obvious sense of humour.’

But until that call comes, Kate Beckinsale will remain in the money – grabbing attention on social media in skintight bunny costumes and bejewelled bodysuits.

As the curtain slowly falls on a 76th Cannes Film Festival that has felt at times more like a neverending fashion show, it was almost inevitable that one of its final acts had absolutely nothing to do with cinema.

Indeed, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc provided the five-star backdrop as the great and good of film and fashion – but mostly fashion – converged for the annual amfAR Cannes Gala, hosted by Queen Latifah.

Leading the way at the star-studded event were Heidi Klum, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Longoria and Helena Christensen who all looked incredible as they walked the blue carpet.

Heidi, 49, put on a leggy display in a green mini dress that featured a dramatic train with a layered detail and tasseled embellishment.

The German beauty posed up a storm on the red carpet and added to her outfit with a pair of silver shimmering heels.

The model’s garment also featured a sweetheart neckline and a sheer detail, while Heidi let her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders for the event.

The America’s Got Talent judge was joined at the event by her husband Tom Kaulitz, with the couple sharing a kiss as they walked the blue carpet together.

Kate Beckinsale showcased her sense of style in an eye-catching purple dress with a structured front and layered detailing.

The gown also featured a train and a cinched waist while Kate, 49, accessorised withh a pair of silver diamond earrings.

Eva Longoria showcased her jaw-dropping figure in a black dress with a sheer detail that highlighted her toned pins.

The garment also featured a high collar and a shimmering detail while the Desperate Housewives star, 48, also sported towering black heels.

Styling her brunette tresses into an updo, Eva accentuated her natural beauty with a daring red lip. 

Helena Christensen looked sensational in a pale pink dress with a low cut neckline and a cut out detail along the midriff.

The Danish model, 54, also wore a matching cape for the evening along with a pair of silver open-toed heels as  she posed on the blue carpet. 

Elsewhere, Stella Maxwell exuded old Hollywood glamour as she donned a black figure hugging gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline.

The dress also featured a sheer detail leading up to a dramatic silver choker while the Victoria’s Secret Angel also wore a pair of gloves.

Adding height to her frame with a pair of heels, Stella styled her platinum blonde locks into vintage-style waves.

Lori Harvey set pulses racing with her look as she slipped into a bright red gown with a cut out along the centre that highlighted her toned midriff.

The garment also featured a high collar and a flowing train, with Lori adding to her look with a pair of sunglasses.

Jourdann Dunn set pulces racing with her look as she arrived to the event in a tiny red mini dress that highlighted her incredible figure.

Her outfit came complete with a matching bow and train while the model also wore a pair of matching heels. 

Alessandra Ambrosio flashed every inch of her incredible model figure as she made a stunning arrival for the gala.

The model, 42, looked nothing short of incredible in a perilously plunging silver sheer gown that certainly caught the eye as she arrived for the prestigious annual charity event.

Alessandra stunned in the daring silver gown with racy beading that showed off her ample cleavage.

Her gown boasted a daring low-cut front and a matching thigh-high split that left little to the imagination.

Meanwhile, fellow model Cindy Bruna was a vision in a black sleeveless dress as she arrived to the swanky event. 

The star’s outfit featured a cut out detail along the chest along with a faux fur lining along the hemline.

Boosting her frame with black heels with a diamond encrusted buckle, Cindy wore her locks in a poker straight style for the evening. 

Coco Rocha turned heads with her look as she donned a royal blue gown with a patterned train and structured shoulder detail.

The model also sported a pair of towering blue boots and styled her brunett locks into a bouffant style for the bash. 

Model Meredith Mickelson looked radiant as ever in a peach two-tone dress which featured a layered detail.

Meredith, who is the ex-girlfriend of The 1975 singer Matty Healy, let her brunette locks fall loose down her shoulders and accessorised with silver earrings. 

Amelia Gray Hamlin cut a glamorous figure in a pale pink dress with a scooped neckline and  a purple sequinned emellishment.

The garment also featured a daring backless detail and leg split while Amelia added height to her fram e with a pair of heels.

Wearing her raven locks in a poker straight style, Amelia accessorised for the evening with a white clutch bag and silver necklace.

The model, who is the daughter of Real Housewives of Beverley Hills star Lisa Rinna, completed her look with a light palette of makeup.

Elsa Hosk sent temperatures soaring in a daring sheer dress that left little to the imagination.

The model showcased her incredible figure in the garment which featured a low cut neckline and a cut out detail along the midriff.

The Swedish beauty boosted her frame with a pair of open-toed heels while she wore her blonde tresses in an elegant updo.

Emma Weymouth cut a typically glamorous figure in a figure-hugging white and blue dress with a feathered detail.

The garment also featured a flowing sheer train with tasseled shoulders while the socialite drew further attention to her look with a diamond necklace.

Victoria Silvstedt put on a busty display for the gala as she slipped into a blue sheer dress with a sweetheart neckline.

The outfit featured a floral print  while glamour model Victoria styled her platinum blonde tresses into loose waves.

Clase Azul is Mexico’s first luxury spirits brand and creators of Clase Azul Reposado that celebrity guests will be sipping on at the party.

Queen Latifah served as host for what is the hottest party during the annual Cannes Film Festival, and which raises millions of dollars for AIDS and HIV research and awareness.

Guests enjoyed musical performances from Halsey, Adam Lambert, Bebe Rexha, and Gladys Knight, while sipping Clase Azul Gold and Reposado tequila from Mexico’s first luxury spirits brand.

It retails from £220 and is available to buy in Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods as well as the world’s finest bars, restaurants and members’ clubs.

The swanky amFAR gala also included a fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld, and a fund-raising auction by Simon de Pury.

Included in the auction were Cecily Brown’s latest work – created specially for amfAR – and a signed 2016 Damien Hirst artwork of Leonardo DiCaprio.

Amongst amfAR Gala Cannes’ co-chairs are Angela Bassett, Kate Beckinsale, Robert De Niro, Ethan Hawke, Scarlett Johansson, Milla Jovovich, Eva Longoria and Heidi Klum.

amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy.

In April 1983, Dr. Mathilde Krim and Dr. Joseph Sonnabend, along with Michael Callen and a few others in New York City, founded the AIDS Medical Foundation (AMF).

It was the first private organization in the world dedicated to raising funds to support scientific and medical research on AIDS. Its first research grants were awarded in 1984. 

In September 1985, amfAR was formed through the unification of AMF with the like-minded National AIDS Research Foundation, which had been incorporated in California in August 1985. 

Since then, amfAR has invested nearly $617 million in its programs and has awarded more than 3,500 grants to research teams worldwide. 

amfAR Gala Cannes has raised a cumulative total of more than $245 million for amfAR’s lifesaving AIDS research.

This extraordinary success has enabled the Foundation to make critical research investments to bring it within reach of a cure for HIV. 

amfAR’s research investments have contributed to the development of antiretroviral drugs that are keeping millions of people alive, and helped eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV in many parts of the world.

And amfAR has galvanized a scientific community that, once deeply skeptical, has largely embraced the notion that a cure is not only possible but achievable in our lifetime. 

Today, amfAR is supporting a range of cure-focused strategies. A new grant initiative called ARCHE-GT, for example, is supporting teams of researchers investigating gene therapy approaches to a cure.

Importantly, the researchers are charged with developing an intervention that could be delivered by injection, increasing the chances that, if effective, it could be administered without requiring complex laboratory procedures. 

Since the beginning of the pandemic, approximately 84.2 million people acquired HIV and more than 40 million have died of AIDS-related illnesses. 

Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway is reportedly facing a huge £716,000 tax bill after she was forced to close down her husband’s business following him becoming stricken with Covid-19 in 2020.

The final total will be settled within the coming weeks, with friends insisting she will pay whatever is owed once the bill is decided, but it brings further anguish to the presenter after an extremely difficult few years. 

Ms Garraway cares for her husband Derek, who now relies on a wheelchair, after he suffered one of the worst-known reactions to the virus after contracting it in March 2020.

She previously revealed it had left him with issues in his digestive system, his liver, his heart, his brain and his nervous system.

The couple now face deepening financial worries as they wait to hear how much they owe the taxman in the wake of the firm’s bankruptcy. 

Derek, 55, is a trained psychotherapist and set up his own firm Astra Aspera Ltd in December 2011.

In March last year the company was forced into liquidation with HMRC estimating the tax owed to total £124,000. This was made up of VAT and PAYE/NIC due to a total of almost £54,000 and Corporation tax due to a total of just over £70,000.

But the latest documentation published by HMRC shows they have now issued a claim to liquidators to the sum of £716,822.74. Liquidators are currently considering the claim. 

A friend of Kate told the Sun: ‘The figures are terrifying and Kate is of course worried about all the financial pressures, but she has to trust the process.

‘When it comes to an end, she is determined to pay back anything that’s owed.

‘It’s no secret that Kate has been battling to keep her husband alive and working through some heartbreaking situations in her personal life in recent years.

‘Sadly as well as the emotional stress of Derek’s terrible illnesses the financial burden has also been crippling.’

In 2021, Ms Garraway said: ‘Covid has devastated him. His digestive system, his liver, his heart, his nervous system. We’re pretty sure the inflammation did pass through his brain. He is in a terrible state. But, look, he’s alive.’ 

Derek, who is the UK’s longest-suffering patient of Covid after being admitted to hospital with the virus in March 2020, returned home from hospital in April 2021 where he received round-the-clock care. 

But he was readmitted to hospital in 2022, and in April 2023 and still requires complex healthcare. 

She previously revealed how coronavirus triggered a rare inflammation of the brain which doctors had never seen before. 

Doctors were concerned about parts of Derek’s brain scans which looked like ‘fluffy white clouds floating in the top part of his head’, she wrote.

The areas signified inflammation on the brain and were seen as early as April, when Derek was first put on ECMO – a machine which oxygenates the blood.

Because the brain takes a long time to recover, doctors warned Kate: ‘We can’t rule out some kind of recovery, but we can’t rule out him never recovering.’ 

He is still largely bed-bound and doctors have said he is the most seriously ill patient to have survived the virus. 

He is confined to a wheelchair and has been learning to speak again – but requires 24/7 care at home. 

During the early stages of his illness, Derek’s story touched many – including royalty.

The then-Prince of Wales Charles wrote to him while he was in hospital, as Kate revealed on Good Morning Britain. 

Ahead of King Charles III’s Coronation earlier this month, the broadcaster, 56, spoke kindly about the monarch and how he supported her husband, who has been left with life-altering after effects from his lengthy battle with the virus.

She said: ‘I think he is a very careful kind man. He put: “I really hope that you’ll get the chance to read this to Derek”. And I have had the chance to read that to him.’

She had previously met Charles at the Prince’s Trust Awards 2020, which occurred just before the pandemic prevented such events from taking place.

Kate revealed at the time she and the now monarch had got ‘relatively close’ at the Prince’s Trust Awards on March 11 – Charles was diagnosed with coronavirus in mid-March.

She described how her husband became seriously ill: ‘Around the 29/30 March, I came home and said [to Derek] “god you look ill”.

‘He said he had a headache, numbness in his right hand, and was struggling to breathe.

‘I rang Dr Hilary (Jones) and tried to get through, he talked to Derek. He said put me back on, I think you need to call an ambulance’.

Derek was taken into hospital on March 30 and remained in an unresponsive condition, later entering a coma.

On June 5 2020, Kate revealed Derek was free from coronavirus but continued to fight against the damage inflicted on his body – and a month later she revealed Derek had woken from his coma but remained in a serious yet critical condition. 

At the end of September of the same year, Derek became the longest surviving patient with coronavirus after spending 184 days in and out of intensive care, where he lost eight stone. 

On July 6 2022, Kate revealed that Derek had been re-admitted to hospital after suffering a ‘downturn,’ and in a later interview said she takes things ‘day by day.’

On July 20, it was reported that Kate had pulled out of hosting Good Morning Britain to be at Derek’s bedside after he took a ‘very serious’ turn for the worse.

Recalling the traumatic day, the 55-year-old ITV star told The Sun: ‘At one point Derek said to me, “This is it, this time. I am gone.” It was just terrifying.

‘His sepsis was gut-wrenching for all of us because it had gone undiagnosed until the point where it was about to take his life away again.’

While Derek’s long-term chance of recovery is still not known, the ‘utter devastation’ to his body is undeniable.

The Good Morning host admitted that there ‘is no end point’ to his care and her new way of life can be ‘exhausting’ for those around her.

London’s Royal Festival Hall provided the glamorous backdrop as the great and the good of British TV and film converged for the annual British Academy Television Awards on Sunday evening. 

Making an early entrance at the Southbank venue, Kate Winslet, Vogue Williams, Tess Daly and Mollie King looked appropriately glamorous as they posed for photos on the red carpet. 

The trio were among the first arrivals on a busy night at the annual ceremony, and Hollywood star Kate, 47, looked elegant in a figure-hugging evening dress at the star-studded event. 

The chic black number featured an asymmetrical highneck design and was cut just below her knee while she pulled her hair back into a classy updo. 

Joining her at the award ceremony, Vogue, 37, looked sensational in a sheer lace gown with a plunging black bodice. 

The Irish model and media personality showed off the back of her gown and slicked her long blonde hair back into a neat ponytail. 

She was joined by Tess, who dazzled in a backless metallic gown with a highneck, scooping low back and floaty pleated skirt. 

The TV presenter, 54, styled her blonde hair into loose curls, added a dusting of gold eyeshadow and boosted her height with a pair of matching heels.

Elsewhere, Mollie, 35, stunned in a shimmering, sheer gown with a corseted bodice, complete with daring opaque skirt. 

Stepping out on to the red carpet Georgia Toffolo, 28, looked sensational in a red satin gown with a semi-sheer white lace bodice and puff sleeves. 

Featuring a plunging neckline the vintage-inspired number gathered under the bust with a red rose embellishment and fanned to the ground with a straight full length skirt. 

Catherine ensured she stood out in a sweeping ice blue gown with a voluminous  skirt and intricate floral detail throughout. 

The actress, 39, added to her dramatic look with delicate diamond earrings, while her hair was side-parted tightly pulled into a neat, conventional bun. 

Joining Catherine, presenter Vick, 33 – who announced her engagement to DJ Calvin Harris last May – caught the eye in an equally stylish emerald green gown with a distinctive cut out chest panel that drew attention to her cleavage. 

Perhaps more noticeable than the dress, her glimmering engagement ring stood out beneath the red carpet lights as she greeted photographers outside the London venue. 

Meanwhile Clara, 38, turned heads in a multi-tiered red gown with a sweeping train and thigh-skimming hemline, a look she teamed with strappy black heels. 

BBC dramas This is Going to Hurt and The Responder lead the nominations for this year’s ceremony, which will be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan. 

The awards will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank. It marks a change in venue after last year’s event was held at the city’s Royal Festival Hall.

Clara Amfo and Michelle Visage will present from the BAFTA Television Awards red carpet. 

This Is Going To Hurt star Ben Wishaw and The Responder’s Martin Freeman are both nominated for leading actor, while the latter is in the running for the drama series prize, as well as the original music category.

Meanwhile, first time nominees Josh Finan and Adelayo Adedayo are on the shortlist for the respective supporting actor and actress awards.

This Is Going To Hurt also has nominations for mini series, director and editing in fiction, scripted casting and writer in drama.

The BBC show is based on the best-selling non-fiction memoir of the same name, the series follows junior doctor Adam Kay in his chaotic job in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 

Meanwhile, The Crown received five nominations for its most recent series which aired last Autumn, including Leading Actress and Supporting Actor.

Apple TV+ hits Bad Sisters and Slow Horses, as well as Emily Blunt’s The English also received five nods each.

Slow Horses star Gary Oldman has also received his first BAFTA TV nomination.

In the international category, The Bear, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Wednesday, Oussekine, Pachinko and The White Lotus are all nominated.

The Leading Actress race will see Kate Winslet go up against Imelda Staunton, Sarah Lancashire, Billie Piper and Maxine Peake.

But Peaky Blinders and House Of The Dragon were among the shows to miss out as the nominations for the 2023 British Academy TV Awards.

While many critically-acclaimed series were recognised with multiple nods, some of 2022’s most praised shows and performances did not feature.

Likewise, the Game Of Thrones prequel House Of The Dragon was not nominated in the International Series category, despite its vast budget and fan following.

Prime Video’s epic series Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, was also snubbed from the same category.

While The Crown received a total of five nominations across the main TV and Craft categories, one star was noticeably snubbed.

Elizabeth Debicki, who was praised by critics for her performance as Princess Diana, missed out on a nod in either the Leading Actress or Supporting Actress category.

The show was also snubbed from the Drama Series category, though star Imelda Staunton did earn a Leading Actress nod.

Another show completely shut out of the nominations was Gentleman Jack, which returned for its long-anticipated second series last year.

The BBC received the most nominations out of all the broadcasters with 47 nods in total, while Channel 4 received 21 and ITV scored 15.

Last year’s ceremony was helmed by Richard Ayoade which saw an average of 2.4million viewers tune in as the full ceremony returned after the pandemic.

As well as announcing this year’s nominations BAFTA also announced P&O Cruises as their their new headline sponsor.

As part of the multi-year partnership, P&O Cruises will launch a ‘P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award’, which will be the only award to be voted for by members of the viewing public.

The award will honour the impact of television in the UK and its power to entertain, inform and bring the nation together.
