Lily James oozed autumn chic as she and Billie Piper led the star arrivals at the Erdem runway show during London Fashion Week on Sunday.

The two pals were joined by fellow stars including Ashley Graham and Daisy Lowe as they took their place in the front row at the fashion presentation. 

Actress Lily, 34, showed off her trendy sense of style as she arrived at the show in a ruched black skirt and gave a glimpse of her toned torso.

She looked nothing short of sensational in the black embellished jumper and added frame to her height with a ribboned high-heel. 

Lily flashed her washboard abs in the cropped sweatshirt and beamed a smile for the cameras at the star-studded event. 

Meanwhile, actress Billie, 40, looked incredibly gorgeous in a long black over-coat and opted for a casual black patent shoe. 

Her ensemble featured sparkly beading on the collar of the jacket and she added a pop of colour with a red lip.

Billie stunned in the stylish attire and accessorised with a huge black clutch bag and posed beside Lily.

Elsewhere at the event saw 35-year-old Ashley Graham who stole the show in a huge green and black floral gown.

The model showed off her toned shoulders and gave a twirl for the cameras before heading into the fashion show.

Her flowy ensemble featured multi-coloured flowers on the dress which looked effortlessly stylish on her.

British Icon Anna Wintour, 73, made a stylish appearance following her incredible turn out at Vogue World earlier this week. 

The Vogue editor wore her classic black sunglasses and donned a sophisticated red blazer for the event.

Charity Wakefield, 42, looked chic in a navy midi dress with peplum sleeves and posed up a storm for the cameras.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw made a stylish arrival in a sparkly pink dress which detailed a mesh ribbon down the side of the ensemble.

The British actress, 40, showcased her slender physique in the plunging neckline dress.

Elsewhere saw Karen Elson attending the star-studded catwalk in a floral skater dress.

The model, 44, looked chic in the plunging cut dress and sported a pair of black diamanté pair of heels. 

Daisy Lowe looked exceptionally glamorous in a green and black skater dress showed off her ample cleavage in the busty garment.

The model, 34, stole the show in the corset style dress which cinched in her waist to present her tiny figure.

For the best part of the last four decades, he has been host, friend and – perhaps above all, given the uninhibited behaviour he’s witnessed in the small hours of the night – custodian of secrets.

Now, though, at the age of 78, the man who can truly be called ‘Mr Chelsea’, the urbane, effortlessly engaging Giorgio Burlo, founder of 151 – the basement nightclub in London’s King’s Road from which Prince Harry once beat a retreat via the fire escape – is calling it a day.

The club’s opening night, in 1985, was attended by the so-called ‘Seducer of the Valleys’, baronet Sir Dai Llewellyn, who became a fixture, as did Princess Diana’s one-time lover, James Hewitt. So, too, did doomed socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson – ‘she lived there,’ reflects Giorgio, explaining that Tara was, for a time, girlfriend of one of his sons, Simon – and Bob Geldof, who held ‘lots of parties’ in 151, ‘including his 50th’.

With so many rich memories, Giorgio is only embracing retirement with reluctance – and after a protracted tussle with Cadogan Estates.

Headed, until his death in June, by the uncompromising 8th Earl Cadogan – who memorably closed a restaurant on his 93 Chelsea acres because it failed to impress him – Cadogan Estates refused to renew 151’s lease after the end of lockdown. ‘I was paying rent, but they sent it back,’ Giorgio tells me. ‘I always did what they asked, but, for some reason, they wanted the club back.’

Its closure caused dismay among devotees, with one of them writing: ‘I feel like a piece of me is missing.’

With no sign of the impasse being resolved, Giorgio underwent what was meant to have been a routine thyroid operation, lasting half an hour. But a mistake – ‘the surgeon forgot to close my vein’ – nearly proved fatal. ‘I went into a coma,’ adds Giorgio, who remained unconscious for a week.

Subsequently, he accepted the inevitable, aware that, with a £5.6billion fortune, the Cadogan family could afford to sit tight, even if it meant the club lying empty.

‘They’ve bought the remaining 15 years of my lease,’ he tells me, adding that Cadogan has also handed over a very modest sum for the right to use the 151 name.

But he still has his memories – including those of the two Princes. ‘Harry came a few times,’ he recalls. ‘He walked around, talked to people. William was serious. He was sitting there, in a corner. He behaved like a prince, like someone who would one day be king.’

Another royal, not normally associated with night-time frolics, popped in. ‘Prince Edward came,’ recalls Giorgio, adding that Edward was accompanied by ‘an entourage’ of friends.

There were much older visitors too, including actor Leslie Phillips, forever known for his fruitily voiced ‘Ding Dong’ catchphrase, who cruised into 151 when in his fifties, and lawyer George Carman, who notoriously contrived to secure the acquittal of former Liberal leader Jeremy Thorpe, when Thorpe was accused of conspiring to murder his former lover, Norman Scott. Carman, remembers Giorgio, ‘danced – and everything.’

Only those who failed to meet Giorgio’s standards of dress and decorum were turned away. George Michael was one of them. ‘He had an earring,’ recalls Giorgio, explaining that men with earrings or tattoos were barred.

More recently, the 151 had become a home from home for the stars of Made In Chelsea, like Binky Felstead. ‘I treat it a bit like a second home,’ Binky said. ‘If I’m not getting enough attention or I’ve had a lot to drink, I just kick off my heels and go to sleep.’

Other club owners might have reacted with fury. Not Giorgio. ‘I thank everyone who visited the club,’ he says.

Of Cadogan Estates, he reflects: ‘It is very well run – ruthlessly well run. Let’s hope that running 151 will get them to £6billion.’

Cadogan Estate confirms that it has purchased the lease for the club as ‘part of an agreement which was reached following the tenant’s desire to retire and close the business’.

A spokesman says: ‘Cadogan recognises the value that establishments such as The 151 Club bring to Chelsea and, for this reason, has taken the decision to retain the premises’ name and use, and will shortly be looking to lease it to a new occupier in keeping with the spirit of the original.’

As potty-mouthed media magnate Logan Roy in Succession, Brian Cox had trouble with his warring children. In real life, his four offspring can be almost as challenging. 

Speaking at a BFI event in London to celebrate his 50-year career, the Scotsman, 77, says: ‘I have grown-up children who I love, but they can be occasionally nasty. My daughter is wonderfully crazy, but the boys can be a little tough to handle.’

Antiques expert Bunny mourns hero husband

She once discovered what was then the world’s most expensive doll, which sold at auction for £188,000. But Antiques Roadshow favourite Bunny Campione has now lost something infinitely more precious — her husband, Major Iain Grahame, who has died aged 91.

During his time in the King’s African Rifles, Grahame had Idi Amin, later dictator of Uganda, under his command. He subsequently visited Uganda with his second wife, Didy, who, to the horror of those present, told Amin to remove the fake VC from his chest.

Amin complied — one of the reasons, perhaps, that Grahame was sent back to Uganda after Amin ordered the execution of Denis Hills, a British writer who’d described him as a ‘black Nero’ and a ‘village tyrant’. Again, Grahame — and Hills — survived.

His first meeting with Bunny was inauspicious: they drove into each other going round a corner on a country lane. But many years later they met again. Love blossomed and they married in 2002.

The Kentucky congressman who will lead Republican investigations if the GOP takes back the House in 2022 is lining up Hunter Biden and the ‘Biden crime family’ as one of the main targets.

Rep. James Comer, who is primed to take over as chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, says the president’s son and his business associates have many questions to answer over his foreign deals and taxes.

He says the White House will also be pressed on whether the president knew about any of the transactions and believes American voters are now coming around to the fact the Hunter scandal isn’t a ‘conspiracy theory’ and are questioning the administration’s ethics and transparency.

Comer called Hunter a ‘national security risk’ and a ‘grifter’ who has built his ‘business model’ on ‘selling access to his father’, and believes Democrats see him as an issue leading up to the midterms.

Outgoing press secretary Jen Psaki has consistently denied Biden has spoken to his son about his business deals and has referred to the Department of Justice when asked about the investigation in Delaware into tax offenses, money laundering and illegal lobbying for foreign clients.

She has also declined to answer questions on the basis he doesn’t work for the Biden administration.

The Republicans are currently the minority in Congress, but dismal polls and mounting issues for President Biden and the Democrats point to them taking back at least the House in the November midterm elections. 

Comer and his colleagues are ready to get to work as soon as they take charge of the committees, and are lining up Hunter, his business partners and potentially staff in the administration.

In an interview with DailyMail.com in his Congressional office at the Rayburn Building, Comer said: ‘The narrative all along has been that Hunter was on his own and Joe Biden had no interest or knowledge of anything that his son was doing with respect to business. 

‘I think what we’re seeing now is that’s completely not true.

Comer also said that they have been asking for Hunter’s business partner Eric Scherwin to provide information on the business dealings and his visits to the White House while Joe was vice president.

White House records show Schwerin visited 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue 27 times during Barack Obama’s administration in 2016.

Comer said he’s heard nothing from Schwerin, but ‘the more that we piece together the more it shows that there is a pattern. This is the Biden crime family.’

‘Hunters dealings are with always with countries that don’t like us and with energy and interests that would be counter to American interests.

‘It’s reflective in Joe Biden’s policies to ban drilling in America and make it hard to get a permit to drill.

‘Is Joe Biden compromised by a Ukrainian energy or Russian oligarchs or Communist China?

‘These are legitimate questions. Hunter Biden’s a national security risk.’ 

‘That’s why we’re going to continue to try to put this together. And honestly, we don’t expect to get very much cooperation from the White House. 

‘(Americans) are starting to realize that Joe Biden had a lot more knowledge and interaction with Hunter and his business partners than they’ve implied all along.

‘So I think the American people are starting to get even more frustrated with Joe Biden. 

‘Not only do they question the effectiveness of his policies now they’re questioning his ethics and his truthfulness. 

Comer said that if the Republicans are victorious, as predicted, in November, they’ll ‘certainly invite Hunter to the committee in some way. 

‘Whether he shows up or not will depend on where we go from there,’ he admitted

‘But I would say it would be a, a safe assumption that the House Oversight Committee will have several of Hunter’s former business partners.

He said anyone who has had ‘any major financial transaction with Hunter’, will be asked to come in for an interview or testify.

Comer then expanded on the specific areas and Hunter deals the Republicans will look into if they take the gavel.

‘We’re concerned about what went on with the mine deal in the Congo.’

He is referring to how an investment firm founded by Hunter assisted a Chinese company in purchasing one of the world’s richest cobalt mines in Congo from an American company for $3.8 billion.

The president’s son was one of three Americans who joined Chinese partners in establishing the Bohai Harvest RST Equity Investment Fund Management Company, or BHR, in 2013.

The Americans controlled 30 percent of the company and made successful investments that culminated in aiding China Molybdenum purchase the Tenke Fungurume cobalt mine in the Congo from the American company Freeport-McMoRan in 2016.

It followed Joe Biden’s warnings that China could use its dominance of mined cobalt to disrupt America’s development of electric vehicles, which is a focal part of his plan to fight climate change. 

‘We’re certainly concerned about Burisma and Ukraine and we have a lot of questions regarding the oligarch, Yelena Baturina, the wife of the former mayor of Moscow, .’

In 2020, a report by Senate Republicans claimed Baturina gave $3.5 million to a company co-founded by Hunter called Rosemont Seneca Thorton as part of a ‘consultancy agreement.’ 

Baturina is one of the handful of Russian oligarchs who have not been sanctioned by the Biden administration, sparking questions from Republicans over whether she is receiving preferential treatment.

Earlier this month, DailyMail.com also revealed Hunter flew to Moscow for a meeting with Russian oligarch Vladimir Yevtushenkov, 73, who is sanctioned in the UK but not the U.S.

In March, Psaki was grilled over why Baturina had not yet been sanctioned by the US over Russia’s attack despite her apparent ties to the Kremlin – and whether Biden indeed was conflicted.

Psaki replied that there was ‘no confirmation’ of Senate Republicans’ allegations and pointed out that Biden has ‘continued to sanction oligarchs more than we’ve ever sanctioned in the past, so I’m not sure that’s a conflict of interest.’

Yevtushenkov owned a company which reportedly supplied Putin’s forces with drones used for deadly bombing raids in Ukraine and until last year owned key Russian defense contractor RTI. 

Emails show the president’s son and his business partners were courting Yevtushenkov for an investment in their real estate company in 2012 and 2013. 

‘The reason we’re doing this isn’t political,’ Comer added. ‘We are at a point now where we fear that the president has been compromised by Hunter’s shady business deals’.

‘The issue is, the Democrats know there’s a Hunter Biden problem’.

‘You can’t compare hunter Biden to the Trump children, which they (Democrats) tried to do. The Trump children are credible business people.’

During Trump’s presidency, Democrats kept pushing to have his children investigated for foreign deals and alleged connections between their business and the government, but a probe never materialized.

Republicans believe the bid by Democrats to investigate the Trump family is just one of a slew of reasons why Hunter is a legitimate target. 

‘Hunter Biden is a grifter. He sells access to his father. That’s how he has comprised his business model,’ Comer added.

‘There are just too many instances now of conflicts of interest. Look at the fact Joe’s brother James had SARS (Suspicious Activity Reports) filed against him. And I’m a, from a banking background.’

In April, CBS News reported that a total of 150 of James and Hunter’s transactions had been flagged as ‘concerning’. These flags are known as SARS.

They underwent a review, although the outcome of those reviews has not been shared.

James Biden, 72, received $65,000 a month from the Chinese-linked consulting group throughout 2018, totaling $780,000. The cash was given to his Lion Hall Group.

Meanwhile, the same firm – which has links to China’s ruling communist party – paid Hunter a cool $100,000 a month for the same year, as well as a $500,000 retainer – meaning he earned a cool $1.7 million from the firm in 2018.

‘Nobody gets more than one SARS file,’ Comer said. ‘They had dozens and dozens. That’s where the bank is concerned that you may be money laundering. You have excessive cash deposits or withdrawals.

‘Dozens and dozens of suspicious activity reports filed against different bank accounts.

‘There are legitimate concerns. We know Hunter is under investigation for tax evasion. 

‘If there’s $5million that Joe Biden hasn’t reported on his taxes or financial disclosure, that’s a violation of federal law.’

A DailyMail.com analysis of the president’s financial records reveal that he declared almost $7million more income on his tax returns than he did on his government transparency reports.

Some of that difference can be accounted for with salaries earned by First Lady Jill Biden and other sums not required on his reports – but still leaves $5.2million earned by Joe’s company and not listed on his transparency reports.

Emails also revealed that Joe agreed to pay Hunter’s legal fees with a Chinese government-controlled company, and the analysis sparked fresh questions over whether the president received money from a foreign venture before taking office.

‘I think that the American people are starting to see that this isn’t an Adam Schiff conspiracy theory against the President,’ Comer added referring to the Democratic Congressman from California who has been scrutinized for pushing the debunked Steele dossier. 

‘This is legitimate, fact-based information. It makes Hunter a national security risk that could potentially put Joe Biden in a compromised position against both China and Russia, two countries that we’re having to watch our backs with in Congress right now.’ 

Republicans have called for a special prosecutor to be appointed to take over the Delaware investigation into Hunter.

Comer said the move would make it harder for Republicans to bring Hunter in front of the committee, but it won’t stop their investigations. 

‘If Attorney General Merrick Garland appoints a special counsel, I don’t think they will do anything more than just run out the clock. So we’ll continue to probe and investigate, and when we find something that is in the best interest of the American people, we will let them know’. 

In a separate interview with DailyMail.com, Comer’s Republican colleague in the Senate Bill Hagerty said he would welcome the appointment of a special prosecutor appointed to help keep the Hunter probe free from White House influence.

‘As we have this type of corruption unfolding in the media’s eye, I think Joe Biden becomes an even greater liability to the Democrat Party,’ he told DailyMail.com.

Hagerty said another option for a congressional probe would be to form a January 6 Committee-style special group.

‘I would have every official discuss this investigation in front of the committee to explain to us what they found, what the evidence is. We want to see the raw materials,’ he said.

‘I would certainly like to see it here in the Senate, under a jurisdictional committee or under a special committee, because I would love to be the one to ask: what did the President know? And when did he know it?

He also said he would not rule out Democrats joining a congressional investigation into Hunter in an attempt to create a clean break with the Bidens before the 2024 presidential election as Joe’s popularity plummets.

In April, Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain appeared on ABC’s This Week and said the President is ‘confident’ that Hunter ‘didn’t break the law’. 

During his television interview Klain vehemently denied that the White House has reached out to the Justice Department about the Delaware probe.

‘Of course the president’s confident that his son didn’t break the law,’ Klain said.

‘But most importantly, as I said, that’s a matter that’s to be decided by the Justice Department, by the legal process. It’s something that no one at the White House has involvement in.’

Klain was also asked about a recent Washington Post report that revealed entities controlled by Hunter and his uncle James Biden were paid nearly $5 million over the course of 14 months by a Chinese energy firm.

The payments allegedly began in 2017 and were made by CEFC China Energy, a company with strong ties to Beijing’s communist government.

In its report the Post cited newly revealed government records, bank statements and emails obtained from Hunter’s hard drive.

‘Is the president confident his family didn’t cross any ethical lines?’ host George Stephanopoulos asked on on the show.

Klain replied, ‘George, the president is confident that his family did the right thing.’

No conclusive evidence has yet emerged that Joe profited from any of Hunter’s business deals.

But the potential discrepancy in the president’s financial filings, and his alleged links to Hunter’s Chinese ventures, raise troubling questions over where the unexplained $5,180,071 came from.

The stories on Hunter and the infamous laptop – that contained multiple photos and references to his drug addiction – were confined to a handful of media outlets until the New York Times and Washington Post confirmed its authenticity earlier this year.

DailyMail.com authenticated the laptop a full year earlier, and was the first – and only – news organization to publicly verify its contents using expert analysis.

Last March, DailyMail.com hired top cyber forensics experts at Maryman & Associates to examine the hard drive to determine its authenticity.

The firm’s founder, Brad Maryman, was a 29-year veteran of the FBI, served as a Chief Information Security Officer and founded the bureau’s cyber forensics unit. His partner, Dr. Joseph Greenfield, is an associate professor at the University of Southern California and helped write their degree program in intelligence and cyber operations.

After an extensive analysis of the hard drive, Greenfield and Maryman produced a report for DailyMail.com detailing their findings.

‘The operating system timestamps appear to be authentic, and no evidence was found to suggest that the timestamps or data were altered or manufactured,’ the report said.

‘No indications were found that would suggest the data was manufactured.’
