‘This is a biohazard issue’: Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona is forced to turn back after passenger suffered horrific bout of diarrhea that pilot said affected ‘all the way through the plane’

  • Delta Airbus A350 had to return to Atlanta due to a passenger’s horror diarrhea
  • The aircraft circled back to base and underwent a five-hour cleanup operation

A Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona was forced to turn around after a passenger on board suffered a bout of diarrhea which ‘ran all the way through the plane’.

Flight DL194 had already departed Georgia on schedule at 8:47 pm, Friday September 1, and was over Virginia when the pilots decided to abandon the journey.

In a text message sent to Air Traffic Control, the captain was succinct in explaining the problem: ‘Divert to ATL — passenger diarrhea all over aircraft — biohazard.’

Air traffic control audio recordings also reveal one of the pilots confirming the situation over the radio.

‘It’s just a biohazard issue, we had a passenger who had diarrhea all the way through the airplane so they want us to come back to Atlanta.’

The situation was distressing for both passengers and crew. Some with knowledge of the situation posted to social media.

‘My partner was on that flight! It was pretty bad. It was dribbled down the aisle, smelled horrible.

‘The vanilla scented disinfectant used on it only made it smell like vanilla s***. After the plane landed, it was thoroughly cleaned. They didn’t leave until around 2:30am’, wrote Dee W.

‘The flight was met by emergency vehicles and EMTs carried the sick passenger off the plane.

‘My partner said the plane was cleaner when they got back on at 2am than it was the first time they got on. No smell either.’

Another passenger onboard the Airbus A350 aircraft also praised the cleanup operation.

‘Both my wife and I were on the flight. It was a mess. The pilots made the right decision to turn around. The ground crew ripped out the carpet and put new in.

‘Considering the circumstances, the ground crew did a great job, along the attendants and the pilots,’ wrote John Hurdt.

Upon landing back in Atlanta, focus shifted to addressing the ‘biohazard’ issue through a thorough cleaning of the aircraft.

Fortunately for passengers, the flight was not entirely canceled.

The aircraft touched down in Atlanta at 10:40pm and eventually resumed its journey to Spain just over five hours later at 3am.

Following an 8-hour and 13-minute flight, the plane finally landed in Barcelona at 5:10pm – eight hours behind schedule.

While Delta acknowledged the flight encountered an unexpected medical even, the airline remained tight-lipped about the specifics.

‘Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination.

‘We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans,’ the airline wrote in a statement.

Padres catcher Austin Nola ‘has cognitive vision issue’ after taking pitch to the face in March, and Yankees’ Aaron Rizzo is the reason he got tests

  • Austin Nola struggled mightily after breaking his nose in spring training
  • He later learned that he was struggling with a cognitive issue

Padres catcher Austin Nola been diagnosed with a cognitive vision issue, and the reason he sought a medical opinion on the issue has to do with the Yankees’ Anthony Rizzo.

Back in March, Nola was hit in the face by a pitch in spring training.

His nose was broken on the play, but he believed he was otherwise fine and resumed activity in Padres camp three days later.

However, it wasn’t until Rizzo complained to reporters of fogginess and ‘feeling hungover’ following a May 28 collision with Fernando Tatis Jr. that Nola started to more heavily consider his March injury.

Rizzo was placed on the injured list on August 3 with post-concussion syndrome.

Nola, who had struggled mightily to start the season, believed Rizzo’s situation ‘sounded familiar’ to him according to the San Diego Union-Tribune, and quickly got neurology and ophthalmology tests last month.

The catcher, who had been demoted to Triple-A after hitting .146 through 52 games,  was reportedly diagnosed with oculomotor dysfunction, ‘a vision issue that impacts the brain’s ability to coordinate eye movement.’

‘I’m so thankful to get some clarity on it,’ Nola told the Union-Tribune. ‘I just couldn’t figure it out. I just didn’t know why I wasn’t seeing the ball.’

Nola, who hasn’t played since August 8, learned through the testing that he was experiencing misaligned tracking with his left eye.

The 33-year-old struggled in Triple-A El-Paso, hitting just .185 in eight games, before being placed on the team’s injured list this weekend.

Rizzo also struggled after his collision with Tatis Jr. – which was deemed by a neurologist to be the likely cause of his issues – and has not yet returned from the injury list either.

Nola, meanwhile, is targeting a return to baseball this season.

‘I feel like I’m getting on the road to recovery,’ he said.

Netflix fan’s simple trick to fix audio issue that has been annoying users

  • A tech enthusiast has shared a quick fix for annoying audio issues on Netflix
  • Loud background music will no longer ruin your show with this simple method
  • The creator also shared secret codes to narrow down your TV and movie search

Have you ever watched Netflix and struggled to comprehend the dialogue because the background music is too loud?

Well, there’s a quick way to change the audio levels so you don’t have to constantly rewind or rely on subtitles to hear your show.

A Netflix fan has shared a simple fix for the annoying audio issue, which has been bothering viewers for some time.

A Netflix fan has shared a simple fix to lower the noise of the background music – the annoying audio issue has been bothering viewers for some time

Tech enthusiast Matty McTech, shared the hack to his 4.8million TikTok followers, and some have claimed the trick is ‘life-changing’.

Posting on his account @setupspawn, the creator started the video by saying: ‘I was today years old when I found this out.’

He continued: ‘If you’ve been watching Netflix and you struggle to hear quiet voices over the background music and sound effects, it might be because Netflix thinks you have surround sound.’

If you don’t have surround sound, Matty advised, you might want to change the settings – and it couldn’t be easier.

All you need to do is pause the video you’re watching and go to the bottom, where you’ll usually see which language you’re watching in.

You’ll see a button which says ‘other’, and you’ll see the default audio setting will read: ‘English [Original] (5.1)’, or any other language followed by ‘5.1’.

‘That means Netflix thinks you have five speakers and one subwoofer,’ Matty explained.

He continued: ‘So if you don’t [have surround sound] you want to select ‘English [original]. And now the background music is a little quieter and I can hear him talk.’

The TikToker explained that all you need to do is change the default audio setting from 'English [Original] (5.1)'to English '[Original]'

The video since been viewed nearly 10million times and has had over 250,000 saves.

The viral video has gained hundreds of thousands of comments with one person saying: ‘WHAT?!?! this is life-changing’.

Another added: ‘THANK YOU SOOOOO FRICKEN MUCH …. I hated the audio issue,’ and a third simply added: ‘It worked!’

One user asked: ‘What if you use a sound bar?’

To which Matty replied: ‘It should be fine depending on the sound bar. You can always pick different audio settings and see what you like the best though.’

In the same video, the creator revealed a website called Netflix-codes.com which shares secret Netflix category codes that won’t appear on the usual website or app, such as ‘satires’ or ‘Cult horror movies’.

The full list of Netflix secret codes will let you unlock hidden TV shows, genres and films to narrow down your hunt for what to watch next.

The website breaks down each genre in alphabetical order and places a code next to it.

Just take the code and type it into the search bar, and it will bring up all the TV shows or movies from that category.

Rep. Mike Gallagher says China may be the only issue lawmakers can agree on currently as Congress remains gridlocked on a way out of defaulting on $31trillion in debt.

Gallagher, chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, shepherded through policy recommendations to combat the greatest threat to the U.S., which is Chinese aggression – on physical, technological and intellectual levels.

On Wednesday, his bipartisan select committee passed two reports on a voice vote – one dealing with how to bolster Taiwan‘s security in the direct face of a growing Chinese threat, and another on the CCP’s ongoing genocide of Uighur Muslims.

Rep. Andy Kim, D-N.J., was the only lawmaker to vote ‘no’ on the committee.

‘Amid broader congressional gridlock, the select committee was able to pass two reports with two sets of recommendations that are bipartisan but very strong,’ Gallagher said during a press call.

The recommendations were put together following a ‘war games’ scenario the committee conducted in April

He referenced the ongoing talks between the Biden administration and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who are still far from striking a deal to stave off default.

Negotiations continued at the White House on Wednesday, but the two sides are hung up on a top line number on spending cuts.

McCarthy told reporters ‘I don’t think there will be a default’ and both sides made some ‘progress’ today.

Gallagher said the ’10 for Taiwan’ plan is not a ‘comprehensive list of everything we need to do,’ but it outlines the major areas that the 118th Congress can accomplish.

The recommendations were put together following a ‘war games’ scenario the committee conducted in April that concluded the U.S. stockpile of precision-guided missiles would be wiped out within two weeks if China invades Taiwan.

As a result, the 10-point proposal was created in order to ‘meaningfully enhance’ deterrence across the Taiwan Strait, including by establishing a weapons stockpile to protect the island.

Also as part of the 10 recommendations, the U.S. would expand communications channels with the Taiwanese military and disperse U.S. troops in the Indo-Pacific region.

The plan was constructed in a way where the recommendations are ‘teed up’ for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), he added.

‘So I’m cautiously optimistic we’ll be able to get a lot of it into the NDAA,’ Gallagher said, noting that several members of the select committee also sit on the Armed Services Committee.

On the genocide set of recommendations, Gallagher called them ‘achievable’ this Congress.

The committee voted to sanction CCP officials responsible for genocide and ensure American companies are not complicit by exploiting loopholes.

The chairman told reporters that it’s important that the U.S. or American companies don’t ‘inadvertently fund’ genocide.

It will also ‘change the behavior’ of large players in the private sector who ‘too often turn a blind eye’ to the atrocity, he added.

Both passed recommendations are a blueprint for legislative action, Gallagher said. He does not intend them to ‘sit up on a shelf somewhere and collect dust.’

‘I am here to get stuff done.’

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers led by Gallagher traveled to London last week to meet with top UK leaders to find ways for both nations to work together in order to effectively counter China’s growing aggression on multiple fronts.

A select committee aide said the lawmakers and the leaders in the UK recognize that the trip was designed to figure out the best ways to work together to counter China’s aggression since they are ‘all in the same boat.’

‘The CCP aggression is global,’ a committee aide told DailyMail.com. ‘It extends to all facets including economic, military and cyber coercion.’

During the meetings abroad, AUKUS – a trilateral security pact between Australia, the UK and the U.S. – came up in nearly every discussion.

The lawmakers debated over how to get AUKUS implementation right, and that means International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) reform, according to a source familiar with the meetings.

Additionally, the leaders were hopeful that AUKUS can be a springboard for increased military and technological cooperation.

The source added that one key idea that emerged from the weekend was that the U.S.-UK ‘special relationship’ – now expanded with the AUKUS platform – could be a new model type of ‘flexible diplomacy.’

A woman in Michigan was left with frostbite after using a common spray to treat her athlete’s foot.

The 67-year-old, who was not named, used $8-a-cannister Lotrimin Powder Spray — sold at stores including Walmart, Target and Amazon — to treat the infection.

But after using the spray for just three seconds, she felt pain in her foot before a blue and black patch about half an inch wide emerged on her middle left toe.

Doctors said it was ‘consistent’ with frostbite, pointing out that the product contained a chemical — isobutane — that is ‘notorious’ for causing the condition.

The chemical can spark a rapid drop in skin temperature as it turns from a liquid into a gas which can cause frostbite.

Athlete’s foot affects up to 15 percent of the population — or 50million — at any one time and is caused by the fungi dermatophytes that is also behind ringworm.

It is picked up from surfaces that are moist, such as swimming pool and locker room floors and towels.

Symptoms of the infection include red, inflamed, itchy or scaly skin around areas that are infected.

There are many over-the-counter treatments available including Lotrimin’s powder spray, as well as creams and ointments to be rubbed onto the infection.

The spray contains miconazole nitrate powder, which battles fungal infections by breaking the walls of fungus cells causing them to die.

But the spray canister may also use isobutane — which acts as a projectile to release the powder from the canister — that can cause the skin’s temperature to suddenly drop.

Previous reports say the chemical can send the temperature down by as much as 36F (20C) per second and, if sprayed for six seconds or more, causes the skin temperature to drop below freezing. This would cause frostbite and cell death.

In the case, revealed this week in the journal Foot and Ankle Surgery, the woman came to doctors complaining of an itching and burning sensation between her toes. She also had scaly skin on the tops of both of her feet.

Doctors diagnosed her with tinea pedis, or athlete’s foot, and recommended that she try over-the-counter treatments such as sprays.

She was told to hold the spray six inches from her feet, use it for no more than three seconds at a time, and return in six weeks for a check-up.

Three weeks later, however, she called in to say there were ‘unexpected’ changes to her feet that were painful.

She was seen immediately alongside the bottle of Lotrimin that she had used, with doctors diagnosing the mark on her foot as frostbite.

They told her to stop using the spray and instead prescribed a powder to treat the fungal infection.

She was discharged and returned in six months where doctors found the athlete’s foot had gone as well as the scarring from the frostbite.

Doctors noted that the patient also had diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea.

The doctors from Central Michigan University wrote in the report: ‘By educating patients about the proper use of over-the-counter medications and advising them to seek medical attention if any unusual symptoms arise, we can prevent further… damage, especially in high-risk diabetic patients.’

Doctors told her to stop using the spray and switch to just a powder form. Within six months the athlete's foot had healed and her frostbite was also gone

They added: ‘The discoloration is consistent with a burn/frostbite.

‘Upon further inspection of the Lotrimin powder spray label, no warning for burn or frostbite is mentioned.

‘But one chemical listed is isobutane which is notorious for causing frostbite.’

DailyMail.com contacted Bayer, the company which owns Lotrimin, for comment.
