Sophie Turner stepped out with her daughter Willa in New York City on Thursday –  after accusing her ex Joe Jonas of ‘abducting’ their kids and blindsiding her with his divorce filing in explosive court documents.

The actress, 27, looked happy to be stepping out with her eldest daughter, three, amid her increasingly acrimonious split from the Jonas Brothers rocker, 34, after she claimed he lied in court documents and said a birthday row sparked the end of their marriage.

Sophie, who is suing her estranged husband so she can return with their children to the UK, wore a cropped black tee, baseball cap, joggers and sneakers as she doted on her daughter.

She sweetly held her daughter’s hand and chatted with pals as she strolled – as the divorce and child custody battle ramps up, 

Earlier in the day Sophie  tried to keep a low profile as she was spotted on Thursday for the first time since she sued her estranged husband Joe.

The Game Of Thrones star was pictured exiting the St. Regis Hotel in New York City while flanked by her friend, the Australian actress Olivia de Jonge.

She stuck to a low-key all-black ensemble and covered up with large black sunglasses while making her way out of the hotel, after her ex Joe publicly lashed out at her.

The sighting also comes after reports that Sophie joined her friend Taylor Swift for a night on the town on Tuesday, when the pair enjoyed ‘martinis and caviar bumps’ at the trendy celeb haunt Temple Bar.

A source told PEOPLE that it ‘cheered [Sophie] up’ and that she enjoyed the normalcy of it all.

‘They were normal. Completely normal. Everyone was all excited, but they were normal,’ an insider recalled, adding: ‘Sophie seemed to be enjoying the night.’

Another continued: ‘Taylor is a great friend — Sophie can talk to her about anything. It cheered Sophie up to spend time with Taylor.’

Joe accused his estranged wife of ‘lying’ in her filing and clarified that their ‘children were not abducted,’ after she petitioned to have them return to the UK.

Sophie continued her all-black theme with a black baseball cap that read ‘Aspen’ in white block letters. Her long blond hair was swept back and peaked out in messy waves rolling down her back.

She covered up with black Wayfarer-style sunglasses and added a splash of color to her otherwise-muted ensemble with a small purple, green and blue handbag with a thick gold chain that she carried tucked under her arm, and she also lightened up the look with white trainers.

Sophie filed documents in US District Court for New York to petition for ‘the return of children to England,’ her home country. 

Jonas had previously filed for divorce from the actress earlier this month. 

The couple, who married in 2019, share daughters Willa and D.J., one.

In documents seen by DailyMail.com, Turner made the claim that Jonas had refused to return the children’s passports, effectively preventing them from traveling back to the UK.

In the filing, she says the exes met on September 17 to discuss a previously planned trip to the UK with her children set for September 20, but Jonas allegedly would not turn over the passports or send the children to the UK on his own.

‘Based on the Father’s express statements that he will not return the children to England and will not return the children’s passports to the Mother, on September 20, 2023, the Mother has submitted her Hague Convention Application for Return to the Central Authority for England & Wales seeking the return of the children to England,’ the filing read. 

She added that the move to the UK was not unexpected, as the couple had allegedly planned to spend an extended amount of time there in the near future.

According to Turner, she and the children expected to accompany Jonas on his US tour with the Jonas Brothers, and then when it wrapped up the entire family had planned to travel to the UK and to live at a rented property near her parents’ home.

She claimed that the move was a prelude to a full-time life in the UK, and that the couple had agreed to move their children there as their oldest Willa prepared to begin attending school. 

The X-Men actress alleged that she and Jonas toured properties from December 2022 until July of this year, when they discovered a ‘beautiful country property’ in Oxfordshire and they ‘both agreed they would purchase the property for the family’s permanent home.’

They allegedly signed a contract for the property in July and planned to finalize the sale in December of this year. 

Last year, Turner and Jonas put their Miami mansion on the market after previously buying it for $11 million.

They sold the property in August at a profit for $15 million, only after they slashed the asking price by $2 million, suggesting they may have been trying to unload it quickly.

In her filing, Turner also disputed Jonas’ claim in his divorce filing that their children had resided in Florida for six months, which would make it easier for a court in that state to decide custody matters.

She appears to allege that a fight on August 15 was a major precipitating event for their separation, and afterward the couple had agreed ‘with some hesitation’ to have the children travel to the US to accompany their father on tour, as Jonas was able to care for them during the day on dates when he was scheduled to perform.

While Jonas was on tour with his brothers, Sophie was engaged filming the new series Joan in the UK, which would have significantly impacted her ability to care for the children during the limited period that she was on set.

Unlike Jonas’ tour, which would presumably allow him some free time when he wasn’t on stage or in rehearsals, Turner would likely have had little free time while working, as film and television productions often keep actors working for long hours each day on tight schedules.

According to TMZ, the musician allegedly realized his marriage was finished after catching Turner ‘saying and/or doing something’ that irked him on their security camera. 

Early reports focused on Jonas’ alleged devotion to their children after parenting them on his own for a short period of time, but critics subsequently defended Turner, pointing out that her work required her husband to share some of the burden for a limited period, and that Jonas should not have been praised for fulfilling his parental obligations.

Joe Jonas has been seen going without his wedding ring multiple times in recent weeks, and he is now reportedly preparing to file for divorce from his wife Sophie Turner.

The 34-year-old Jonas Brothers singer has also reportedly retained a divorce attorney, according to People.

At least as early as August 11, Jonas was seen with a bare left ring finger while taking care of some errands in The West Village in Manhattan.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Jonas, while a representative of Turner declined to comment.

The couple were married in two ceremonies in 2019, with the first taking place as an impromptu Las Vegas wedding the night after the 2019 Billboard Music Awards 

TMZ previously reported that the musician and actor had been meeting with divorce lawyers. Sources close to the situation also claimed that he was preparing to file divorce documents.

On August 11, he was seen in a casual black T-shirt and matching shorts that showed off his fit, tattooed figure while out in New York City.

He had a somewhat anonymous look with a black baseball cap and tinted glasses, and he carried an iced coffee and a Puma shopping back in his hands.

Missing from his left ring finger was the band he normally wears to commemorate his marriage to Sophie.

Joe and the 27-year-old Game Of Thrones star are said to have been having ‘serious problems’ for the past half year.

Sources told the publication that Joe has been primarily handling parenting duties in recent months.

They said he had been caring for their two young daughters — Willa, three, and a one-year-old girl whose name has not been publicly revealed — ‘pretty much all of the time’ for the past three months.

It’s unclear where Sophie has been or what has caused the arrangement leaving Joe to reportedly take the lead, though she has continued to act since the end of her HBO series Game Of Thrones.

That has meant that he has been handling solo parenting even as he tours with his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas as The Jonas Brothers, and he’s reportedly still the one with the kids currently.

The two tend to share few details about their family life, and Sophie even avoided sharing any photos that revealed she was pregnant until after giving birth to Willa, while she and Joe have revealed even less about their younger daughter.

Details on what came between the couple are scarce, but they haven’t been spotted together in public for months, and they were apparently photographed together most recently in April when they were seen arriving at an afterparty in London that Jonas was DJing at.

Both Joe and Sophie continued to attend public events as a couple earlier this year, but the musician has been spotted on his own without his wedding ring in recent weeks. 

However, the couple continued to put on a strong face, though not in the same frame. Just one day after Joe was seen ringless on August 11, an eyewitness told Page Six that Sophie had attended a Jonas Brothers concert in Yankee Stadium.

She was reportedly seen partying with Nick’s wife Priyanka Chopra and Kevin’s wife Danielle Jonas, though she and Joe don’t appear to have been pictured together that night. Sophie does not appear to have attended any subsequent Jonas Brothers shows.

Complicating the picture somewhat was a later reappearance of Joe’s wedding ring. He was spotted out again with the band on August 21, and he also had the ring on during a Jonas Brothers performance in Detroit, Michigan, on August 24.

Three months ago, the couple sold their Miami mansion for a cool $15 million — but that was after they were forced to slash the asking price by $2 million in order to get it to move.

However, that was still a significant profit for the two, who had bought it just two years earlier for $11 million.

It’s unclear where Joe and Sophie have made their primary residence since selling off their mansion.

They previously purchased a New York City condo in 2018 for $5.6 million, but they had reportedly listed it for $5.9 million in 2020, and it’s unclear if the condo was ever sold.

Joe and Sophie were first linked in 2016, when they were spotted together multiple times and were seen kissing in November at a Kings of Leon concert held before the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Sources had confirmed the relationship by December, and the lovebirds went public with it in January 2017 when Sophie shared a photo of Joe on Instagram. 

In October 2017, Joe and Sophie revealed that they were engaged. 

In 2019, they made things official with a last-minute ceremony held at A Little White Wedding Chapel, the famous wedding venue in Las Vegas.

They later revealed that they had not told their parents in advance, but their secret got out thanks to their guest Diplo, who livestreamed the ceremony with his phone.

In July 2020, Sophie gave birth to her and Joe’s first child, a daughter named Willa.

She avoided sharing any photos featuring her pregnant stomach before the birth, and it wasn’t until September of that year that she began posting throwback photos from her pregnancy. 

The couple had originally been based in Los Angeles, but in September 2021 they sold their West Coast home in favor of the Miami mansion.

In May of last year, Sophie told Elle UK that she hoped their family would be able to relocate to England.

‘We’re very lucky to live in Miami. We have good weather and live by the water,’ she said. ‘I really love living in America but, for my mental health, I have to be around my friends and my family. And also for my daughter — I would love her to get the education and school life that I was so lucky to have. England would ideally be the final destination, but [Joe] might take quite a bit of convincing!’

They went on to welcome their second daughter in July 2022, though this time they were more tight-lipped when it came to her name.

Sophie didn’t betray a hint of cracks in her marriage when she posted a cute photo of herself and Joe in matching striped pajamas to mark his 34th birthday on August 15 of this year.

Rose Leslie showcased her growing baby bump as she enjoyed a walk with her sister, Portia, in London on Wednesday.

Despite getting getting closer to her due date, the Game Of Thrones actress, 36, showed no signs of slowing down as she stepped out for some fresh air.  

Rose, who played Ygritte in the HBO fantasy series, looked stylish in a floral green dress paired with brown sandals while she toted a black shoulder bag.

She sported a radiant pregnant glow as she went makeup free, while her auburn locks were tied into a slicked-back bun. 

The star appeared in good spirits as she wrapped her arm around her sibling, who looked equally chic in striped linen trousers and a matching red top.

Elsewhere in the city, Rose’s husband Kit Harington was busy running errands as he made an outing of his own.  

The actor, 36, donned a white T-shirt and matching shorts as he stepped out in north London.

Enjoying the summer weather, he took his blue cardigan off and carried it over his shoulder.

He kept his look casual with a pair of white trainers and donned a stylish pair of sunglasses.

He appeared relaxed and at ease as he stopped for a coffee and strolled with his Airpods in his ears.

Kit announced he and Rose were expecting their second child together during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in February. 

The couple have not confirmed the name of their first son or his birthdate. Rose was seen visibly pregnant in September 2020 and their son was first spotted in February 2021.

Speaking about his firstborn, Kit said: ‘He is about the get the shock of his life, which is that he’s about to get a brother or sister.’ 

He continued: ‘You know with the first baby, you’re like, walking on clouds and dancing through fields and daisies for nine months? Well, the man is anyway.

‘This time, the reality check comes much shorter and you get practical, like, real quick.’

Kit then said he and Rose have been trying to explain to their toddler that he is going to have a sibling but he ‘doesn’t quite conceptually understand it just yet’.

He said: ‘We are trying to get him ready for it and we point at Rose’s belly and we say, “Mummy’s baby, mummy’s baby”, and he points at his tummy and goes, “My baby, my baby”.’

Kit previously called being a parent ‘the most physically draining thing’ he has ever done.

Speaking to The Weekend Australian, he said: ‘Like, honestly, my back is wrecked. I go to the gym quite a bit, but there’s something about having a child that is the most physically draining thing,’ he said.

The actor went on to praise single parents saying: ‘I don’t know how you do it. Because it’s more exhausting than everything I did on Thrones.’

Elsewhere the actor he is ‘happy’ and ‘content’ with his life since becoming a father.

‘I have a child and my relationship is brilliant… I’m a very, very happy, content, sober man,’ he said, referring to his past battle with alcohol addiction.

Kit and Rose met while filming their hit HBO show Game of Thrones and began dating in 2011.

They announced their engagement in The Times newspaper in September 2017 and married the following June in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
