Pink is the hottest color this summer thanks to the new Barbie film, and why not get your next vacation involved in the trend?

DailyMail.com has scoured the U.S. for the pinkest hotel rooms and vacation spots around, so travelers can live out their ultimate Barbiecore fantasies while taking some time out. 

From a retro-styled motel in California decked out with love hearts galore to a luxury hotel in New York that makes for a more sophisticated play date, there’s a spread of pink-hued places to suit all tastes.

Trixie Motel, California 

Nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, California, the Trixie Motel is described as a ‘pink paradise’ inspired by the American drag queen Trixie Mattel. 

The highly Instagrammable spot is home to seven custom themed rooms, with the pinkest being the Queen of Hearts suite. 

This retro-style room features a queen sized bed with a pink heart-shaped headboard, heart-print paper adorning the walls and there is even a heart-themed stained glass window in the ensuite bathroom. 

The motel’s blurb reads: ‘There is only one way to describe our Queen of Hearts Room – she’s fit for a QUEEN!! If you are royalty, this room is for you.’  

Other themed rooms at the adult-only motel include the Flower Power Suite and the Yeehaw Cowgirl Suite.

Rates for the Queen of Hearts room start from $400 per night. At the heart of the motel is a swimming pool framed by powder pink striped umbrellas and poolside accessories. 

Hotel Barriere Fouquet’s, New York

Live out your Barbie dreams in superior style at the Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York.

Located in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, this upscale hotel serves up 97 residential-style rooms and suites masterminded by celebrated interior designer Martin Brudnizki.

Pink hues run throughout the hotel from the sophisticated speakeasy to the sun-drenched rooftop, but one of the pinkest accommodation options comes in the form of the Hudson View Corner Terrace Suite.

This sweeping suite, which spans 688sq ft and starts from $5,100 per night, features a palette of rosy hues. 

Along with a living and dining area, a king-size bedroom, and a marble-clad bathroom, there is a large dressing area for guests to beautify themselves in true Barbie style. 

Another perk of the room is a large L-shaped terrace with prime views of the city skyline and the Hudson River beyond.  

Pink Paradise, Texas

Bubblegum pink outside and in, the Pink Paradise vacation rental in Hays County, Texas, certainly lives up to its name. 

The quaint six-bed property, which is available via Vrbo.com, starts from $868 per night.  

It features plenty of space for entertaining, with a large open plan living and dining area and a center island in the kitchen. 

What’s more, there is a heated outdoor pool and sweeping terrace space for guests to enjoy.  

In terms of the accommodation, the master bedroom – which is kitted out with two queen beds – is fit for getting party ready, with features including a desk with a light up make-up mirror and an oversized walk-in closet.

Meanwhile, there four more queen beds in the second bedroom, making it the ideal venue for a fun-filled slumber party. 

Hotel Philco, Ontario 

Inject some Barbiecore into your next vacation by checking into Hotel Philco in Ontario.

The unassuming family-owned boutique hotel, located in the lakeside community of Crystal Beach, is home to seven unique hotel rooms each following a different theme, from gardening to beer. 

Travelers with a passion for pink will be in their element in the Glam Room.

This split-level apartment serves up an array of different pinks, from bold fuchsias to softer tones of flamingo. Even the toilet is pink, with the only other shade being gold-hued fixtures and fittings.

The hotel owners say that the kitsch pink decorations, neon signs, and flower feature wall make this room an ideal spot for ‘any aspiring influencer’ to take some artsy vacation photos.

Along with a loft-style bedroom on the upper floor, the room includes a full kitchenette, a Nespresso coffee machine, a four-piece bath, a pull-out couch, and a balcony overlooking the tree-lined street below. 

The Colony Palm Beach, Florida

Dubbed the ‘pinkest luxury Palm Beach hotel,’ the Colony underwent a candy floss makeover for its 75th birthday in 2022 making it the perfect candidate for a Barbiecation.

Flanked by palm trees and manicured lawns, the photogenic classically-styled building has 64 guestrooms, 16 suites, three penthouse suites and seven two-bedroom villas. 

Over the years it has played host to numerous famous faces, from Frank Sinatra to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and it continues to lure jetsetters and well-heeled locals alike.

While the exterior of the hotel and communal spaces are pretty in pastel pink, many of the rooms are decked out in cool shades of blue and mint green. 

For the pinkest night’s stay, be sure to give the hotel a call or email to put in request for one of the rosier-hued rooms complete with baby pink walls and upholstery. Rooms start from $854 per night.

The Plaza Hotel, New York   

Kay Thompson’s Eloise: A Book for Precocious Grown Ups and its mischievous young heroine has been delighting readers since its publication in 1955.

In 2010, the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York had the novel idea of opening an eye-catching Eloise suite, which was fitting, because in the book, the character lives on the top floor of the hotel.

It features outrageous and fun décor in shades of pink and black by celebrated fashion designer Betsey Johnson. 

The bed has a sparkly pink headboard and there’s a large neon sign reading ‘Eloise’ above it. 

The chairs and lampshades feature floral pink fabric, while the bathroom is completely pink too. To contrast with the palette of pinks, a zebra-print carpet runs throughout. 

The sugar pink suite costs from $2,045 a night, with the rate including an Eloise-themed afternoon tea, a $100 gift card to the Eloise shop, an Eloise Book and more.

Riggs Washington DC 

Originally constructed in 1891, as a headquarters for Riggs National Bank, this Washington D.C. hotel makes a grand impression from the get go with a mix of period features and soaring ceilings. 

In total, the converted bank offers 181 jewel-box rooms and suites, decked out with bold interiors. All of the rooms feature mini bars secreted in safety-deposit boxes as a playful nod to the building’s history.

The top tier rooms come in the form of the First Lady Suites, which were ‘inspired by the eccentricities of four former First Ladies.’

The hotel states that each of the four suites has ‘a unique personality of its own, offering guests access to features including a freestanding soaking tub and separate living rooms providing plenty of space to relax.’

Each suite follows a different color scheme with the ‘Ida McKinley’ dressed in pink. 

The room – which starts from $899 a night – was apparently inspired by the wife of William McKinley, the 25th President of the U.S. and the pinks and purples on show reflect her ‘deep love of flowers and plants.’

A floral design adorns the wall behind the four poster bed, while the living room features pink velvet upholstery and pink walls and curtains top things off. In this room, the safety deposit box also comes in – you guessed it – pink. 

Madonna Inn, California 

The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California, first opened its doors in 1958 and it has 110 themed rooms with wacky and wonderful decor.

Thanks to its novel interior design the family-run motel, which sits on a 1,000 acre ranch, quickly became a much-talked about landmark. 

Many tourists stop by to take photos in the hotel lobby and use the over-the-top styled bathrooms. The pink and gold ‘Alex Madonna’s Gold Rush Steak House’ makes for another popular pitstop. 

If you’re looking to get into the Barbie swing of things, the property’s Madonna Suite – or room 141 – should fit the bill. 

This over-the-top room features a bold rose-patterned carpet, hot pink walls and ceilings and Barbie pink upholstery. Antique-style furnishings top off the theatrical look. 

Other unique features include a massive fireplace built into a rock feature wall, and a bathroom that looks more akin to a cave, with the walk-in waterfall resembling a grotto. The suite starts from $269 a night. 

The Watergate Hotel, Washington DC 

The Watergate Hotel is the best-known part of the Watergate complex in Washington DC’s Foggy Bottom neighborhood.

The building, designed by Italian architect Luigi Moretti, neighbors the Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts on the Potomac River banks.

It first opened in 1967, welcoming high-end guests such as Elizabeth Taylor, then-Representative Bob Dole and the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Five burglars were caught breaking into the Democratic National Committee’s offices on June 17, 1972. They had checked into rooms 214 and 314 of the Watergate Hotel, using aliases.

Among them was a security coordinator for the Republican National Committee and the Committee for the Re-election of the President, James W McCord Jr. Then-President Richard Nixon resigned two years later in August 1974. Following the incident, the hotel was bought and sold several times, and underwent various iterations.

Then on June 1, 2016 it reopened its doors as an upscale hotel and once again welcomed guests. For sweeping views along with some subtle pink hues, check into the hotel’s two-room Rose Suite on the 14th floor. 

The sizeable room includes a living room with chandelier, a dining table that can seat six and plush pink seating areas. The large bedroom contains a king-size bed, desk and master bath. Rates start from $1,365 per night. 

East Austin Hotel, Texas 

For a hip, retro vacation feel, trek over to Austin, Texas, and book a stay at the East Austin Hotel.

This locally owned hotel, which is five blocks from downtown, has 75 ‘mid-century Scandinavian-inspired’ hotel rooms with ‘luxe-to-less offerings.’

There a rooms to suit all budgets, from cozy ‘cabins’ with shared bathrooms to pool side suites with spacious balconies. 

Catering to Barbie and Ken, there’s the option pink or blue interiors, so make sure you put in your request before checking in.

The groovy pink rooms feature pink bed linens, pink patterned curtains and 60s style furnishings, while the bathrooms come with pink tile detailing and stripy robes. The swinging 60s feel follows through to the communal areas, from the casual restaurant to the pool side bar, where Instagrammable cocktails are in free flow. 

Rooms start from $119 per night.
