A Polish museum has claimed to have found the oldest time capsule in the world in a church spire, containing 300-year-old coins, Latin documents and a deformed lead bullet. 

The box allegedly dates back to 1726 and was discovered during renovation work at the Church of St. Stanislaus in the small town of Wschowa, in western Poland.

The age of the capsule has yet to be confirmed, but if it actually is from 1726, it would make the find older than the current record holder from US city Boston.

The town’s museum called it a ‘unique find’ and said on social media: ‘The oldest time capsule in the world found in Wschowa.

‘The oldest capsule takes the form of a box made of copper sheet, with the date 1726 stamped on its lid. 

‘The time capsule consisting of four packages from 1726, 1786, 1884 and 1914 was extracted from the sphere at the top of the tower of the parish church.’

The current oldest known time capsule, whose age has been verified, was discovered in Boston at the Massachusetts State House in 2014, hidden behind a painting of George Washington crossing the Delaware River.

Inside one of the newly discovered caskets, museum conservators found a parchment written in Latin which when translated chronicled a devastating fire that engulfed the town and reduced the church to ashes.

They also found a lead bullet that had been shot into the casket and damaged some of the documents.

Inside a smaller casket they found coins from the 18th and 19th centuries wrapped in newspapers.

The museum said: ‘Above the lock and on the bottom there is a date stamped three times from the second opening in 1884.

‘The bottom was shot through with a small caliber lead bullet found inside the box.

‘The smaller casket contained coins wrapped in newspapers in two separate packages.’

Museum experts say they will now translate all the documents and thoroughly examine the contents of the latest find.

During the 18th century, the town of Wschowa served as the second, ‘unofficial capital of Poland’.

In 1793, as a result of the second partition of Poland, the town became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. It returned to Polish hands after WWII.

Meanwhile, the previously oldest time capsule in Europe was also discovered in Poland in 2020 and dates back to 1797.

It was found in a church spire in the town of Ziębice, 115 miles south of the most recent discovery.

Opening it up, town officials found 200-year-old old coins and documents dated 1797 written in German. 

In the 18th century the town was called Münsterberg and was part of the Kingdom of Prussia. 

The town’s mayor Mariusz Szpilarewicz said: ‘All indications are that it may be one of the oldest time capsules found in the world.

‘The oldest capsule in the world dates back to the 18th century and was discovered in Boston, USA. Our capsule is probably two years younger than the Boston one.’

The oldest capsule in the world was discovered at the Massachusetts State House in Boston in 2014 after crews removed the time capsule from the granite cornerstone of the building.

Inside was an engraved silver plate proclaiming that the capsule was hidden in 1795 by Revolutionary War luminaries Samuel Adams and Paul Revere, along with a host of other items. 

Originally made of cowhide, the time capsule was believed to have been embedded in the cornerstone when construction on the state Capitol began in 1795. Adams was governor of Massachusetts at the time.

The time capsule was removed in the mid-19th century and its contents transferred to a copper box, Galvin said. 

Its removal was due to an ongoing water filtration project at the building. 

Dating is a minefield – and a first date can often feel particularly incendiary, with those involved usually a bag of nerves, paranoid about saying or doing the wrong thing.

No one knows this better than relationship expert Jacob Lucas, 31. And he’s here to help.

The ‘Her Dating Coach’ author has more than 750,000 followers on his TikTok channel ‘jacoblucas101‘, and here shares his top tips for making sure a first date is fun, even if you don’t hit it off with your companion.

DURATION 

How long you spend with your date is ‘such an important part of the process’, according to Lucas, who believes three hours is ‘the perfect time to spend’ on a first date.

‘Three hours gives you enough time to get to know each other,’ he tells MailOnline Travel. 

‘And because the date isn’t too long, you will leave them wanting more, which is great when building attraction.’

The dating guru, from Wiltshire, warns that those who stay longer during the initial meeting ‘risk the date turning stale’, but if you leave too soon, your date may think you are not interested in them.

‘With the mix of dating nerves and excitement it’s easy to get tired quickly when dating because your social battery runs out faster than when you’re hanging out with friends,’ he says.

‘If you spend too long on a date, you may not come across as the best version of yourself, and it may harm your chances of getting a second date.

‘However, if the date is too short then it’s very hard to get to know each other. You need time to be able to invest in the conversation with the person you’re dating to see if you are both compatible.’

LOCATION

Lucas says keeping the date relaxed and casual is key to combatting any first-date nerves.

The dating whizz recommends a coffee shop or a cocktail bar for the first meeting, which he says offer the ‘best of both worlds’ whether your date goes well or not.

‘These types of dates are great because if you don’t like the person, you will only have to endure the time it takes for you to have one drink and then you can leave in a polite manner,’ he says.

‘However, if you like that person and want to continue getting to know them then you can order another drink and go for a nice walk after your coffee. Best of both worlds.’

Another key tip from Lucas is to ‘always remember to go somewhere public’.

He adds: ‘It’s much safer and sets the right tone for you to get to know each other without it feeling too intimate too soon.’

Places to avoid on a first date? The cinema, Lucas says, because ‘you will both be focused on the film and not each other and it makes it difficult to talk’.

This is also the case for high-energy, activity-based dates, he suggests, which should be saved for a third date ‘when you know each other more and can be more playful’. 

He adds: ‘A first date is about the basics and you need a calming, moderate activity.

‘I also recommend avoiding double dates for a first date.

‘Double dates can be fantastic later down the line but on the first date it can be hard to get to know someone when there are four people in the conversation and makes it a bit too casual.’

CONVERSATION

‘A simple way to keep a conversation flowing is by asking open-ended questions and to avoid asking “yes or no” questions,’ Lucas says.

‘This creates a conversation that can move in many different directions.’

If you are asked a question then ‘answer it’, he assures, adding: ‘When you feel like you have said your part, ask them a question in return that links back to them about what you have just said.’

Sharing another top tip, Lucas suggests ‘falling back on your strengths and passions’ if you feel like there could be an awkward silence.

‘For example, if you love travelling talk about that,’ he continues. ‘Talking about something with passion is contagious and it should inspire them to talk about their interests as well.’

HOW TO END IT 

Almost half of Britons who are actively dating feel more confident and relaxed on a date if they’ve set a deadline and known when and how they’ll make their exit, according to research commissioned by Uber. 

Almost three-quarters of daters (73 per cent) worry about the awkward goodbye at the end of a date and three in five (61 per cent) wish they had a reason to leave, the findings show.

With this in mind, Lucas recommends pre-booking a ride home before your date as ‘a perfect way to end a date without feeling awkward’.

He says: ‘Let’s say you have booked a ride home for 9pm, then once the time comes you can leave the date in a way that doesn’t feel awkward, because you have a real reason to leave, and don’t need an excuse.’

The relationship expert says having your taxi home pre-arranged with a service like Uber Reserve not only ensures you get home safely but can also make you ‘feel more confident about your date because you will feel in control and not have to worry about what time you’re leaving’.

The service, which can be ordered via the Uber app, provides scheduled rides up to 90 days in advance with added benefits such as upfront driver assignment, early arrival, a longer 15-minute wait time, and an on-time pickup guarantee.

HOW TO END IT EARLY

If you feel your date is not going well, ‘the number one rule is to leave with good manners’, Lucas says.

‘Sometimes people just don’t have a connection and that’s okay,’ he adds. ‘However, if someone is rude to you, it doesn’t mean you need to stoop down to their level.

‘Keep it polite and classy and know that you’ve done your part.’

Lucas suggests saying you have lots of work to do when giving your reasons for leaving a date early.

‘Not many people will complain about this, because they will have also had moments when they’ve been overwhelmed with work themselves,’ he says.

‘Plus, it’s polite because you aren’t saying anything negative to or about them.’

Another way of drawing things to a close is by saying you have a lift home ‘that you have pre-arranged because you have a busy schedule’, the expert says, adding: ‘Again, your date should be understanding of this, and you won’t come across as rude but just a busy person instead.’

Tycoon Rupert Murdoch, aged 92, has started dating a beautiful retired scientist – after meeting her through his third wife Wendi Deng.

The two are cruising the Mediterranean in the legendary superyacht Christina O which he has rented and are today on the coast of Corfu.

Ms Zhukova is a twice-divorced molecular biologist and specialist in diabetes. She has lived in America for over three decades after leaving Russia in 1991 with her daughter.

Before retiring she worked at the medical research unit in UCLA. Sources say she spends a lot of time with her grandchildren by Dasha and Roman.

Dasha, 42, divorced Abramovich in 2019 and her settlement included a four-storey house in Manhattan. She is now married to Stavros Niarchos, the billionaire heir to the shipping dynasty.

Murdoch and Ms Zhukova senior are apparently cruising the Med on a family summer holiday.

Murdoch was spotted in Positano last month, lunching at the Da Adolfo restaurant. Reports suggest that his son Lachlan and wife Sarah joined him, sailing their new $150 million yacht Sarissa.

Murdoch’s daughter Elisabeth and her husband Keith Tyson were also seen.

The Christina O launched in 1943 was converted from a frigate by the fabled Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis. The boat, featured in the Oscar nominated film Triangle of Sadness last year, is where Onassis wooed Jackie Kennedy and Prince Rainer and Grace Kelly had their wedding reception on board. It is said to cost $767,000 a week to rent.

Murdoch’s daughters by Wendi Deng, Grace and Chloe, are apparently on board the Christina O also. It has 18 bedrooms.

Not spotted so far is Murdoch’s son James. A Vanity Fair article earlier this year suggested that Lachlan thought that James had been leaking episodes from the family’s life to the makers of the hit drama Succession.

Eldest son Lachlan has been running the businesses with Rupert Murdoch since 2014. Younger son James, 50, resigned from the News Corp board in 2020 after disagreements about editorial policy.

The other children are Prudence, 64, from his first marriage to Patricia Booker, Elisabeth, 54, from his marriage to Anna Torv and Grace, 21 and Chloe, 19 from his third marriage to media executive Wendi Deng.

Murdoch owns The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post in the US, The Sun and The Times in the UK and the book publisher Harper Collins.

His first marriage was the flight attendant Patricia Booker, they had daughter Patience. Then came a 31 year marriage to journalist Anna Torv. They had Lachlan, James and Elizabeth.

He married media executive Wendi Deng in 1999 and they had daughters Grace and Chloe.

Former fiancé Ann Lesley Smith, who also owns a vineyard, was in a dispute with the family of her late husband. They alleged ‘elder financial abuse’ and said that she had withheld their $1 million which each of his three daughters were owed. The matter was settled in 2010.

Bella Hadid is ‘happy on her own’ following her shock split from Marc Kalman after nearly three years of dating. 

Weeks after DailyMail.com confirmed the former couple called it quits, in the spring after the romance ‘ran its course,’ the 26-year-old supermodel is reportedly ‘still in the process of adjusting to the single life after her split from Marc.’

‘Bella isn’t focused on dating at the moment,’ a source told Us Weekly. 

The insider added that despite her friends ‘wanting to set her up,’ the Vogue cover girl, who has been sober for 10 months, is ‘really not in the mood right now.’ 

At the moment, the Kin Euphorics cofounder is ‘really proud of her sobriety and is focused on her well-being and her career for now.’

The source went on to note that Hadid will ‘get back out into the dating scene when the time is right, but for now she’s happy on her own.’

Previously, the bombshell dated The Weeknd on and off from 2015 to 2019.

Over the years, she has also been romantically linked to NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. and rapper Drake. 

Earlier this month, an insider, close to Hadid, revealed to ET that they parted ways ahead of the summer, and she is currently ‘getting daily treatment for her Lyme disease.’ 

The former couple reportedly met through work in New York City, in 2020, but waited until the following summer to confirm their romance on social media.

On July 8, 2021, the Kin Euphorics cofounder shared a sweet photo packing on the PDA with the art director, who worked with rapper Travis Scott for years.

At the time, E! News reported that they were already ‘serious’ and she is ‘has been excited to be seen with him’ in public after keeping their romance private for a year.

‘He has been the creative behind many fashion projects and they have crossed paths several times,’ the source revealed.

Additionally, her mom, Yolanda, and older sister, Gigi Hadid and the rest of her family all ‘approved and loved him.’

Hadid originally contracted the tick-borne illness back, in 2012, presumably, while at their horse ranch in Santa Barbara. 

Before officially being diagnosed with Lyme at age 16 – the DC-born, Malibu-raised beauty was incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD at age 14 and began self-medicating at age 15 because she was ‘so depressed and sick.’

Bella – who started homeschooling and stopped riding horses due to brain fog – said no one believed she was chronically ill except for her mother Yolanda Hadid, who was diagnosed with Lyme the same year in 2012.

The 59-year-old former Ford Model detailed her journey seeing ‘106 doctors’ and undergoing a Stem Cell transplant, Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, Chelation therapy, colon hydrotherapy, among other treatments in her 2017 book Believe Me. 

‘After many misdiagnosis for two years, she started driving me anywhere and everywhere on our own, sick herself, to find the doctors that could heal me. I just turned 15/16 I think,’ Hadid recalled.

‘I was already doing IVs and random holistic treatments here and there, but just things that felt like a Band-Aid to me. My first Lyme treatment that I remember where the doctors actually could treat me and tell me what was wrong with me was in Reno at University of Nevada and a year or two later, my mom drove the both of us, sick herself, across the border to Tijuana, Mexico. To the kindest small town doctor.

‘After that, over the years, the flood gates opened and Lyme started to be more visible through blood and Kinesiology. My mom’s book actually talks about all of the treatments I did, and about what it looked like for her baby to be sick like her, it’s just a bit traumatizing for me to read now.’

Back in 2017, Bella told InStyle that that she took ’30 pills’ and self-administered ‘two shots a day in the keester’ to properly function with Lyme disease.

Ahead of her diagnosis, the model said she thought ‘going out and being with my friends would make’ her ‘feel better, but it didn’t.’ 

‘Now I feel like a grandma. I’ll go out occasionally, but I’d rather go to work and have 100 percent energy, because I barely have enough to get through the day as it is,’ she admitted. 

In April, she told her Instagram followers that ‘any minor trauma to the body’ can cause her Lyme disease to flare up. 

After suffering from a tooth infection, she revealed that her jaw became ‘so inflamed’ and her illness tends to ‘flare-up/inflame randomly when’ she is ‘overly stressed or overworking.’ 

‘Lyme flare-ups happen all the time,’ she explained. ‘Some days it’s okay! And some days are difficult.’ 

Other symptoms of her Lyme disease include her skin changing color, breakouts that feel like ‘lesions,’ lethargy, chronic anxiety, zero motivation or purpose, leaky gut, adrenals and depression.’

Additionally, Bella said she ‘hates looking in the mirror or taking pictures’ because of how symptoms dramatically affect her appearance. 

‘If I’m all dolled up, maybe I’ll try for the girls but, man, is it hard to do this as your profession while also feeling/looking sick like this,’ she confessed on TikTok. 

Twitter users are calling on Elon Musk to develop an AI-powered dating app called ‘Twinder,’ touting it as the way ‘to save humanity from extinction.’

The idea came after Musk replied ‘population collapse‘ to a tweet showing how fertility rates keep dropping in Nordic countries.

The potential dating app, which the Twitter CEO deemed an ‘interesting idea,’ would use artificial intelligence to make matches instead of random swiping.

The suggested service would feed AI Twitter accounts, including posts, comments and likes, and the technology would look for another user with similar behaviors and interests.

The Twitter thread, viewed over two million times, has hundreds of comments, with some sharing how they met their partner on the social network.

The dating app pitch came from content creator Steven Mark Ryan, a YouTuber who posts videos on tech and finance news.  

‘When Twitter dating app? Might actually save humanity from extinction. Not even joking. Very low hanging fruit. Besides…. the EVERYTHING App, right? Ryan tweeted.

The post caught the attention of Kristen Ruby, president of Ruby Media Group and AI and social media analyst, who shared that she offered up the idea in April – tweeting, ‘Cool story Steven.’

Ruby’s April tweet details how Musk could design a dating app, as she suggested using AI.

‘@elonmusk could actually create the most intelligent AI dating app on the market due to sheer volume of data collected on users,’ she tweeted.

‘The matches would be based on data & AI instead of random swiping. It makes complete sense to me, I see the vision clearly.

‘He would be a fool not to create what I laid out.’

Musk said it would work for hiring, but this idea fell flat among users. 

One user replied: ‘Once people know Twitter is being used for Hiring, they will start auditing their behavior and before you know we have another LinkedIn.’

Ryan’s post was also met with people sharing how they met their partner on Twitter.

A user named Pope of Muskanity shared he had met his wife of five years on Twitter and included a picture of them on their wedding day. 

It is not clear if Musk will move forward with Twinder, but social media platforms launching a dating app have been done – and not successfully.

Facebook launched a service in 2019 hoping to give its users a fairytale ending, but it turned into an instant tragedy.

It was only a few weeks after the launch of the matchmaking feature, and users were already flocking to Twitter to share their not-so-positive experiences.

‘Man you thought tinder was full of ratchets wait til you see Facebook Dating,’ write @danlacewell. 

Facebook Dating does not require users to mutually ‘match’ before being able to connect. 

Instead, it lets participants browse profiles via a familiar card-style cue and interact with the ones that interest them. 

Another Twitter users said ‘So the Facebook dating app is like Tinder, but 5% less annoying”.

And a user shared pictures of those who ‘liked’ them, specifically David, who appears to be holding his shirt up to show off a gun tattoo on his stomach.

However, it seems things have improved on Facebook Dating since launching in 2019.

After less than two years online, Facebook Dating claimed it had created over 1.5 billion matches in 20 countries. 

To put that in perspective, Tinder has created 55 billion matches within eight years.

Denis Welch was seen for the first time since her son Matty Healy and Taylor Swift went public with their romance.

The singer, 33, is reportedly ‘madly in love’ with The 1975 frontman Matty and the two went public with their romance at her concert in Nashville.

Denise stood out in a bright pink top and matching jeans, while completing the look with brown slip-on shoes.

The Loose Women star, 64, opted for a blush makeup palette and donned her glasses while getting into her blue Abarth on Sunday.

Taylor has already crossed paths with Matty’s mother as the pair met in January while backstage at a 1975 concert at The O2 in London.

The Bad Blood hitmaker appeared on stage with the band as a special guest and then posed for a snap with Denise backstage, which the Loose Women star shared to her Instagram.

Before dating rumours emerged around Swift and The 1975 singer, Taylor had dated British actor, Joe Alwyn, for six years until their split was confirmed last month in April.

Shortly after being spending time with the Midnights singer, supermodel Gigi as well as the three Haim sisters reportedly all unfollowed The Favourite star.

It is hard to confirm if they ever followed Joe in the first place, but Taylor’s observant and perceptive fans shared screenshots of the Victoria’s Secret Angel’s following list less than 24 hours later.

Reports also show that the three sisters making up the rock band HAIM — Alana, Danielle, and Este — allegedly all followed suit.

Joe still follows Alana and Danielle, but it is unclear if he and Este ever followed each other initially.

The three sisters reportedly even unfollowed Joe on their official HAIM band account.

Supermodels and Victoria’s Secret Angels Martha Hunt and Lily unfollowed him too.

Matty’s appearance on stage during Taylor’s Eras Tour comes shortly after The Sun reported earlier Thursday that the rumored couple had plans to confirm the romance over the weekend during her Nashville stop.

According to the outlet, Healy is slated to perform two of her popular songs, with a source stating, ‘Taylor and Matty have been planning their ‘coming out’ for a few weeks now, and are really excited just to go public with their love.’

The insider further revealed, ‘Neither of them want any secrets, or to hide away. The plan is for Matty to walk out on stage mid-show and play two songs.’

‘They will chat to the audience and, at present, the idea is for them to confirm their romance with some kind of PDA — public display of affection. It won’t be anything remotely cheesy though.’

And on Saturday, Matty strummed on his guitar as he made an appearance with Taylor’s supporting act during the show. Whether he will hop onto the stage once again to perform with the Blank Space hitmaker has yet to seen.

Taylor and Matty’s rumored romance first came to light earlier this week on Wednesday, with a separate source telling The Sun, ‘She and Matty are madly in love.’

‘It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out,’ the insider added.

In regards to her ex, the source informed the publication, ‘Taylor and Joe actually split up back in February, so there was absolutely no crossover.’

‘Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of Face-Timing and texting but she cannot wait to see him again,’ and added that the two stars, ‘are incredibly supportive of their respective careers.’

Before making a surprise appearance to join the opening act, the Robbers musician was seen making a quick Starbucks run after reportedly spending time at Taylor’s Nashville condo earlier Friday night.

As the British-born singer exited the popular coffee shop chain on Saturday, he carried a warm drink in his hand while also looking through his smartphone as he was led by a security guard to a sleek, white SUV parked near the coffee shop.

After grabbing a drink to get a boost of energy, Healy was later seen arriving at Nissan Stadium in the heart of Nashville ahead of Taylor’s Saturday night performance in the city.

Earlier on Friday, he was seen dancing along to Swift as she sang her hit track, Shake It Off, amongst fellow concert-goers in a secured area on the floor section of the venue.

The video was posted on Twitter and quickly went viral amid rumors that Matty and Taylor have started a budding romance.

Despite the speculation that the two have entered a relationship, both singers have yet to publicly confirm they are dating.

Fans also were sent into a frenzy when the Karma songstress appeared to relay a message in code to her rumored boyfriend as he watched her concert from the audience in footage uploaded onto social media.

At one point, she mouthed the words, ‘This is about you, you know who you are. I love you’ which is what Matty had also said amid his concert earlier this month on May 3 in the Philippines.

Before night two of Taylor’s Nashville stop, devoted fans of the Grammy winner were seen arriving to Nissan Stadium just hours before the concert commenced.

Near the outdoor stadium that is located in the heart of the bustling city, concert goers were seen dressed up for the event and also took a few photos near a large sign that read ‘TSWIFT.’

Nissan Stadium notably has a capacity of nearly 70,000, and the singer-songwriter has been performing for sold-out crowds. She is slated to perform in Nashville through Sunday May 7, with her tour coming to an end later this year in August in Los Angeles.

During night one of the festivities on Friday, Taylor made a surprise announcement that her Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) album will be released later on July 7, per Variety.
