Naomi Watts and her new husband Billy Crudup have attended a pre-show cocktail event for Brooke Shields‘ one-woman show, Previously Owned.

The Mulholland Drive actress, 54, and Watchmen star, 55, looked dapper for the outing, sponsored by Australian wine brand Bird In Hand and held at the Café Carlyle in New York on Tuesday.

At one point, Watts shared a kiss with her female friend, former InStyle editor-in-chief Laura Brown.

The Academy Award-nominated actress was radiant for the outing, wearing a white blazer over a floral-print blouse.

The British-Australian actress pulled her trademark blonde tresses back in a low ponytail for the catch-up.

Her Almost Famous actor husband meanwhile looked sharp in a royal blue suit and sported a salt and pepper beard.

The outing comes after Naomi opened up about her sex life with her new husband and the complications of keeping her libido ‘alive’ while going through the menopause.

Watts married Eat Pray Love star Billy earlier this year on June 9 in a very low-key ceremony and Naomi admitted they’re still very much in the ‘honeymoon stage’ of their relationship.

Speaking at an exclusive event at Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays on Thursday evening, Naomi explained how communication had been the ‘biggest key’ in her romance with 55-year-old Billy and it had led to them having ‘pretty great sex.’

The King Kong star previously revealed that she went through early menopause at the age of 36 and felt like she was ‘spiraling out of control’ thanks to hot flashes and mood swings, which led to the launch of her wellness brand, Stripes.

During the conversation, which was entitled ‘Unlocking Intimacy: Navigating Passion in Midlife,’ she admitted that ‘sex becomes more pleasurable’ with age.

During a panel chat about menopause with doctors Suzanne Fenske and Somi Javaid, Naomi said: ‘We’ve heard tonight that there are complications, keeping the sex and the libido alive and everything, but sometimes people have the complete reverse effect.

‘In fact, I think there was a time, generations ago, and talking about what menopause actually was… it was hysteria and some women were nymphomaniacs. Like we were just crazy old crows that wanted sex too much,’ she added with a laugh.

‘I personally think sex becomes more pleasurable when you take out the fear of like making babies… when you know it’s not the right time… like what is that expression… “closed for business, open for pleasure!”

Naomi and Billy met on the set of her 2017 Netflix series Gypsy.

In the series, Naomi starred as a therapist who uses an alias to develop close (and unethical) relationships with people intimately connected to her patients, while Crudup played her husband.

The costars began a relationship later in 2017, a year after Naomi had split from her partner of 11 years, the actor Liev Schreiber.

One British businesswoman is living the nomadic lifestyle she always wanted, thanks to AI bots.

Remi Gutteridge, founder and CEO of social media agency RG Creatives, uses AI tools to attend meetings for her and manage her diary, which has enabled her to work from New York, Santorini and Corfu instead of the business’s central office in the UK.

Thanks to AI, her hours have come down by as many as 18 a week.

Thanks to the bots, Remi, 35, has been able to plan more globetrotting while keeping up her day job, with more Greek islands on the itinerary and the Balearics in her sights for the festive season. She spends 70 per cent of her time on the beach that’s running the agency.

Before introducing AI tools into her business, Remi – who is originally from St Albans – says she ‘spent a whole lot more time at [her] desk in very long meetings or working [her] way through lots of admin’.

She tells MailOnline Travel: ‘Keeping on top of client and team schedules can be an entire job in itself – so I found I would work longer hours than I would’ve liked.’

She used to work about 40 to 50 hours per week – and wasn’t fulfilling her dream of seeing the world.

After introducing AI tools into the running of her company, Remi discovered that it meant she didn’t need to be ‘in the room’ for every meeting – giving her the flexibility to work from overseas.

Now she works a more manageable 32 to 35 hours a week, which sometimes involves working from co-working spaces abroad.

Remi says: ‘Using AI has really allowed me to free up time in my day so I’m able to focus on other things that are important to me. I’ve found that these days I’m able to take much longer breaks, and generally finish much earlier than I used to!’

What’s more, in the past six months, her business has gone from strength to strength.

What role does AI play in the company? Remi explains: ‘I mainly use AI to take care of small, boring daily tasks such as managing my diary and scheduling appointments or meetings.’

These bots help with her to-do list each day. Remi says she uses ‘AI as a sort of personal assistant to figure out things like the best meeting times for catching up with [her] team or clients or generating project timelines’.

'Using AI has really allowed me to free up time in my day so I'm able to focus on other things that are important to me,' says Remi

And when she instructs bots to attend virtual meetings for her ‘the system will take a recording of a meeting, feed it through the system, and then provide me with key takeaways and actions’.

She continues: ‘It means I don’t necessarily have to be in the meeting, and my team doesn’t need to spend time catching me up on what I missed so it’s great for all of us.’

AI tools respond to certain emails automatically on Remi’s behalf, while important emails will be flagged for her attention so she can ‘pick it back up’ when she returns to her desk.

Remi says this means that when she’s travelling or spending time with loved ones, she doesn’t feel the need to check her email inbox, which has made a ‘huge difference’ to her life.

In general, AI allows her to ‘spend time offline’ comfortable in the knowledge ‘that the business is still ticking along without [her]’, she reveals.

In the early days of bringing AI on board, there were a few teething problems, Remi admits, though ‘nothing drastic’.

She says: ‘When I was playing with the tools and trying to figure them out, I had a couple of stray emails that went to the wrong person or meetings which were scheduled at incorrect times, but luckily, they were mainly internal errors so there was nothing that couldn’t be fixed.’

Remi also takes steps to ensure that no serious errors are made.

I mainly use AI to take care of small, boring daily tasks such as managing my diary and scheduling appointments or meetings

She explains: ‘I make sure that any notes that are made and shared with clients are proofed, so they’re accurate and have the context they need – the tools are there to help me along, not to do my work entirely for me.’

Most of Remi’s clients are ‘intrigued’ when they hear she’s working with AI, she reveals: ‘Many of my clients know that I use AI to help make smaller day-to-day admin easier… many are already using the likes of ChatGPT in some way. The tech hasn’t replaced my staff, only made life easier and has freed up time for us.’

The clients that were ‘more sceptical’ have ‘begun to think about how they can implement AI in ways that help their day-to-day too’, she says.

Did anything surprise Remi about using AI in the workplace? She says she was taken aback by how ‘easy’ it is to work with, noting: ‘Once you get a hold of it, you’ll be keen to figure out the other ways the tech can work in your favour. ‘

Remi isn’t the only British worker using AI in the hopes of bettering their work-life balance – and business – LinkedIn reveals.

New research by the social media site finds that 76 per cent of UK workers say they are excited to use AI in their work, and 65 per cent believe it will help move their careers forward.

Remi used to work about 40 to 50 hours per week – and wasn’t fulfilling her dream of seeing the world. Now she works a more manageable 32 to 35 hours a week

The research suggests that UK workers see AI as a tool that will help them focus on what they do best and be more productive. Half (51 per cent) are planning to use AI to say goodbye to boring work tasks, and 42 per cent admit they’ll use AI tools to answer the questions they’re too embarrassed to ask their colleagues.

A further 40 per cent plan to help solve conflicts by asking for advice on difficult scenarios at work.

However, the majority (66 per cent) of UK workers have been provided with no formal AI training, leaving many to figure it out for themselves. Over half (56 per cent) have already taken steps to boost their knowledge of AI through practical experience – including experimenting with Gen AI tools such as Chat GPT (22 per cent) – or reaching out to friends and colleagues for advice (16 per cent).

Despite this, many still feel that they’re falling behind. Thirty per cent of professionals think their colleagues know more about AI than they do, and over a quarter (26 per cent) have even pretended they know more about AI to appear ‘in the know’ in front of teammates, LinkedIn reveals.

Seventy-six per cent of UK workers say they are excited to use AI in their work, and 65 per cent believe it will help move their careers forward

The research also finds that two in five UK workers (38 per cent) predict ‘significant’ change to their jobs in the next year as a result of AI, which has led to mixed feelings. Over a third (36 per cent) admit to feeling overwhelmed by AI, and a further 38 per cent are worried they won’t be able to keep up with the AI developments sweeping through their workplace.

Employees predict interpersonal skills such as communication (48 per cent), adaptability (48 per cent) and problem-solving (46 per cent) will become even more important as AI grows in prominence.

And LinkedIn suggests that gaining an understanding of AI could be beneficial to those in the job market – its data shows that since November last year, there has been a 21-times global increase in English-language jobs mentioning new AI technologies such as Chat GPT.

Commenting on the research, LinkedIn Career Expert Charlotte Davies says: ‘Hot off the heels of the pandemic, once again professionals are adapting to another wave of change as AI becomes more prominent in the workplace. It’s understandable that getting up to speed can feel overwhelming, but it’s positive to see people embracing the shift and focusing on the many benefits AI technology can bring to their working lives, including more time to focus on the work they care about and helping with career progression.

‘It’s also clear that people are eager to learn more about AI. We’re seeing a significant increase in conversations on LinkedIn, with members already adding AI skills to their profiles, but our data also highlights the enormous value of soft skills and how important these will be for the future as we continue to navigate this new tech and the change it brings.’

To help initiate workers into the world of AI, LinkedIn is offering its most popular AI LinkedIn Learning courses for free.

King Charles III has paid tribute to his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, as he attended the Highland Games today – an event that was a firm favourite of the monarch.

The King represented the Royal Family at the event alongside his wife Queen Camilla – the first since the Queen Elizabeth’s death.

The King and Queen were joined by Anne, Princess Royal, and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, as the royal siblings sat next to each other and shared a giggle.

The Braemar Gathering – the most famous of the Highland Games – was a particular favourite of the late Queen Elizabeth, who rarely missed the spectacle which takes place in September each year near Balmoral Castle, Aberdeenshire.

It comes a year after the late Queen was forced to miss the event – prompting the initial grave concerns for her health, and less than a week before her passing.

Prince Charles would often accompany the monarch at the gathering which has existed in some form for 900 years – and its most modern form stretching’s back nearly 200 years.

Then the Prince of Wales, Charles still attended the event last year despite officials saying at the time that the the decision was made that the late Queen wound not be there ‘for her comfort’.

The festival is known to attract visitors from all over the world and frequently featurs competitors from Scotland, England, Australia and America.

Various events throughout the day include traditional Scottish games, including caber-tossing and tug-of-war, and take place at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar.

The Braemar Gathering is the most famous of the Highland Games and is known worldwide. Each year thousands of visitors descend on this small Scottish village on the first Saturday in September to watch one of the more colourful Scottish traditions.

The King wore a kilt to the games, donning the newly created King Charles III tartan, while Camilla wore an outfit by Mr Roy.

‘The green, blue and red tartan was designed by The Scottish Tartans Authority earlier this year to mark the occasion of the coronation and in recognition of His Majesty’s strong support in preserving the culture and traditions of highland dress and Scottish tartans,’ the Scottish Tartans Authority said of the tartan.

‘The unique design presented to His Majesty, is based on the Balmoral tartan sett which dates from c.1850 and continues to be worn by the King and members of the royal family today.

‘The new tartan has been officially registered with the Scottish register of tartans which is administered by the National Records of Scotland.

‘The cloth, woven in 100% Scottish wool by Lochcarron of Scotland in Selkirk, includes a central triple stripe motif (one broad and two narrow) which is a feature of royal tartans previously worn by His Majesty including the Duke of Rothesay, Duke of Rothesay Hunting and Lord of the Isles Hunting tartans.

‘The colours have been matched to the natural dyes of 18th century tartan specimens in the collection of the Scottish Tartans Authority.’

The Royal family originally started attending the games in the in the mid-1800s when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased the castle.

It comes almost a year to the day after the late Queen Elizabeth was forced to miss the event over her ailing health and mobility issues. She would pass away some days later.

Attending in place of his mother last year, the then Price Charles officially opened The Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Archway during the festival before presenting awards to the top-performing competitors as the events across the day.

The Archway was opened last year to commemorate the Queen’s historic 70 years on the throne in recognition of Her Majesty as a patron of the world-famous event.

While she could not attended in person last year, the late Queen was able to watch from the comfort of Balmoral as the events were streamed online.

Prince William will not attend World Cup final to watch England‘s Lionesses face off against Spain, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

The Lionesses made history after beating Australia 3-1 today securing their place in England’s first World Cup Final since 1966. Ella Toone scored the opener for Sarina Wiegman‘s side before Sam Kerr netted a stunning equaliser midway through the second half to revive Australia’s hopes of reaching the final.

But Prince William, who is president of the Football Association, is set to watch the final on the television.

No specific reason has been given for the decision, but attending the final would mean a lengthy flight to Australia for a short period of time.

Following the match, The Prince of Wales praised the team. He wrote on Twitter: ‘What a phenomenal performance from the – on to the final! Commiserations to, you’ve played brilliantly and been fantastic co-hosts of this World Cup. W’

The royal is currently on a summer break and travelling across the world is something those in the public eye have previously been criticised for.

Tackling climate change is listed as one of the prince’s priorities.

Veteran royal journalist Phil Dampier has criticised the royal’s decision to miss out on Sunday’s final, which will be broadcast at 11am.

On social media he wrote: ‘If Prince William as President of the FA isn’t going to the Women’s World Cup final we should be told why not. It’s a long way and Australia hasn’t had a visit by him or The King since Charles came to the throne. That’s the problem. If the final was in Europe he’d be there!’

The prince also sat out on last year’s men’s World Cup in Qatar, due to the controversies surrounding it. But it was reported that he ‘might’ have attended if they managed to reach the final

King Charles congratulated the squad. In his message, he said: ‘My wife and I join all our family in sending the mighty Lionesses our warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the World Cup, and in sharing our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.

‘While your victory may have cost the magnificent Matildas their chance for the greatest prize in the game, both teams have been an inspiration on and off the pitch – and, for that, both nations are united in pride, admiration and respect.’

Like Prince William, many fans will be opting to stay in England and enjoy the game at home or at a fanzone.

The Lionesses have clearly captured the hearts and minds of a nation once again, as all three Boxpark fan zones in London sold out eight minutes after the final whistle.

A Boxpark spokesperson said that 2,500 tickets across their sites in Shoreditch, Wembley and Croydon sold out in under 10 minutes.

Ecstatic England fans have poured on to Twitter to celebrate the achievement, and several supporters used memes to wind up the tournament hosts following their World Cup exit.

A fan zone at Boxpark Croydon turned into an impromptu dance floor on Wednesday as the Lionesses confirmed their place in the final, knocking out the host nation.

The only person who seemed to be sitting down when the final whistle was heard at the south London venue was a lone Australian at the front of the zone.

The team’s official Twitter account posted three images from behind the scenes in Sydney.

It was captioned ‘Good times never seemed so good!’ – lyrics from the Neil Diamond classic which has become something of a celebratory anthem for England in recent tournaments.

Boss Sarina Wiegman was clearly keen to keep a lid on celebrations, even telling defender Lucy Bronze to ‘stop jumping’ and to immediately begin preparations for Sunday’s showpiece final.

Australian fans were left crying into their beers as goals for England from Toone, Hemp and Alessia Russo sealed victory and put the Lionesses 90 minutes away from lifting two major trophies in just under 13 months.

England will now take on Spain for the trophy this Sunday at 11am UK time, after they beat Sweden 2-1 yesterday to book their trip to the final.

The match comes just over a year after England won Euro 2022 by beating Germany and is England’s first World Cup final since the men’s famous triumph back in 1966.

Lionesses fans at the fan zones put children on their shoulders, danced on tables and sang football hits following the historic victory.

Nurses will be given paid time away from the frontline so they can attend management courses and boost their chances of landing senior NHS roles.

Steve Barclay has promised to ‘improve the lives’ of nurses by giving them more chance to progress their career and protecting them from violence.

The health secretary’s olive branch comes as more than 300,000 Royal College of Nursing members are being balloted over industrial action with polls closing tomorrow.

Writing for the Daily Mail, he said he ‘deeply regrets’ recent strikes and wants nurses to be properly represented at the top of the health service, so they have more of a say in how it is run and make it a better place to work.

It is hoped the move will prevent more nurses leaving the profession and improve patient care.

Women fill nine in ten nursing roles but fewer than half of ‘very senior’ NHS manager posts, such as chief executives and directors.

Ministers have offered NHS staff – excluding doctors, dentists and very senior managers – a pay rise of 5 per cent for 2023/24, an average rise of 4.75 per cent for 2022/23 and a one-off bonus payment of up to £3,789.

They also promised to make improvements to non-pay issues.

However, while the deal was accepted by most health unions, the RCN rejected the offer and threatened further strikes in pursuit of a double-digit rise.

Pat Cullen, the RCN’s chief executive, has accused Mr Barclay of being sexist and denying her members a larger rise because they are predominantly female.

More than 650,000 appointments and operations have been cancelled as a result of NHS strikes by the likes of junior doctors, nurses and physiotherapists since December, causing waiting lists to surge to a record 7.4million.

Mr Barclay said: ‘Nurses do an outstanding job at keeping patients safe and went above and beyond the call of duty during the pandemic to care for our loved ones.

‘I deeply regret the strike action we have seen in recent months, which has been disruptive for both staff and patients, and I want to work constructively with unions to improve the lives of staff, starting with delivering the pay deal agreed in May.

‘This week I held a meeting with a group of frontline nurses working across the NHS, from intensive care to mental health, to hear directly from them what matters most.

‘The health and wellbeing of nurses is paramount to making the NHS a better place to work.

‘I want nurses to be given more chances to progress their career by better protecting their training time so they can rise to management levels, mentor newly qualified staff, and have a say in how the NHS is run.’

Mr Barclay said he plans to trial body-worn cameras in the health service and use AI to try to reduce violence against staff after figures showed there have been 6,500 sex attacks in hospitals in three years.

He said: ‘Any kind of violence against staff is unacceptable and should never be allowed to happen in the NHS.

‘I want to create a safe environment for staff, through body-worn camera trials and a national violence prevention.

‘I’ve heard first-hand about some of the vile behaviour staff are subject to and have asked the NHS to explore how to improve the quality of the data available on these incidents, including potentially using artificial intelligence to better identify trends, and working with the police to ensure appropriate action is taken, including prosecution to ensure the NHS is always safe for staff and patients.’

The cabinet minister said NHS staff are receiving the pay rise in their pay packets from this month, meaning a newly qualified nurse will see their salary go up by more than £2,750 over two years up to 2024.

He added: ‘This deal is not just about money though and I understand staffing pressures, professional development and workload are all reasons why nurses can feel undervalued.

‘The NHS will soon publish a long-term workforce plan to grow the number of nurses and improve retention.

‘We’re making progress with 44,000 more nurses working in the NHS compared to September 2019 – but I know there’s further to go.

‘I hope RCN members recognise this is a fair deal and decide it is time to bring industrial action to an end.

‘Whatever the outcome of their ballot I will continue to deliver changes and work with the NHS Staff Council to make the NHS a better place to work so staff can provide the best possible care to patients.’

An RCN spokesperson said: ‘The commitment from the government to improve career development – as well as tackling violence and safer staffing – is positive but nursing staff are eager to see clear progress and not more promises.

‘The simplest way to raise standards is with more nurses and yet there are record unfilled jobs – our professionals are concerned over the impact of low pay and stress driving more people out.

‘The RCN will continue this year to campaign for nursing staff and to hold government to its pledges on valuing our professionals, making the NHS safer and improving cafe for patients.’

The pair both went along to a shindig held by their pal, swimwear designer Kat Furey Arnold, this weekend.

In Instagram Stories collected by the Dutch Minty Instagram account, the couple each separately posted images of the expectant mother posing alongside her partner at the party.

‘Baby showering the best’ Justin captioned his post, while Olivia wrote, ‘Baby shower for these cuties’ on her own, near-identical image.

Earlier this year, the two were forced to cross paths as they attended the wedding of their mutual friends, Marion Keast and Will Maurice.

Despite the awkward encounter, the former Miss Universe Australia made sure she was dressed to impress for the occasion in a jaw-dropping tangerine dress.

Rogers’ bitter split from her ex-husband has been dragged through the headlines in recent weeks as the pair took aim at each other on social media.

Olivia confirmed her split from finance expert Justin, 34, in October last year, after just eight months of marriage.

Justin recently broke his silence on their breakdown of their marriage and scathingly said he’s ‘never been happier’ after their split.
